I love taking my son to Yogurtland because he's obsessed, but this location has been consistently disappointing. I've given it so many chances, at least five visits and it just keeps missing the mark. Every time we go, there are barely any flavors available, and the ones that are there are sometimes melting. The toppings haven't been great either, the fruit doesn't seem fresh, and the last time I got the big Oreos, they were super stale. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes staff are helpful, but other times no one is around at all until it's time to pay. What really did it for me though was this last visit. My son who is two sat on one of the benches, and when I went to sit down next to him to take a quick selfie, the smell hit me immediately, it reeked of pee. Like, so strong I almost felt sick. I grabbed him right away and we went outside to eat. That was the last straw for me. I really wanted to like this place because my son enjoys it and it's near grandparent's house but after multiple bad experiences and that situation, we won't be coming back. read more

Yogurtland is blatantly ripping off app customers, and the manager at the Genesee Plaza location said 'the quiet part out loud' right in front of me. Went to the Genesee Plaza Yogurtland today and had a frustrating experience with their app ordering. I placed an order through the app -- $18 before my birthday coupon knocked it down to $13. While waiting for pickup, I made a second cup in-store the normal self-serve way for my wife. That one cost $13 and change, when weighted, and was noticeably fuller. When the manager brought out my app order, she told the other employee -- standing right next to me -- "Management only wants us to fill these three-quarters of the way." She didn't whisper it, didn't wait until I walked away. Just said it openly like it was routine. That tells me this isn't a one-off -- it's policy. Two cups sitting side by side: the one I made myself for less money was clearly more product than what the store made at a higher price point. I mentioned to the manager, who just told the employee that this is not right - you're plainly ripping people off, but she just looked at me like I was insane for even mentioning it. Granted, this person is probably just doing their job and doesn't give a you know what, but still doesn't sit well. On top of that, the app won't let you combine two yogurt flavors, which defeats the whole purpose of a self-serve froyo spot. If you're going to deliberately short your app customers, at least have the awareness not to say it out loud in front of them. I won't be ordering through the app again. read more

Yogurtland is such a fun treat! I wish there was a way to sample the fro yos before deciding, I tried a bunch of flavors or dolce de leche and cheesecake and only the matcha had a very distinct flavor. I should have done all matcha if I had known. Quick to get in line and create a froyo, and friendly service. read more

Not the best Yogurtland, I won't be back. I'll try to find a locally owned shop instead. Yogurtland no longer allows customers to sample their yogurt flavors which is disappointing. There are often new ones, and many I haven't tried. Today a machine didn't work with two of my favorite flavors so that sucked. They also had no napkins for some reason. Also, the windows have no shades so the front area roasts in the west facing sun. There was only one employee, who had to keep leaving to check on the machines. This shop is very small and there was no seating left, so we ate our purchases in the car. With the success of this chain it seems some stores have stopped trying. read more

Although this Yogurtland is located in a convenient spot close to main road and in a large shopping complex, our experience was disappointing. All the machines worked but several of them had watery consistency. They no longer offer sample cups so you have choose wisely. The service was really slow with a line to check out while watching our yogurt melt in the cup. I felt like they cut their fruits in large pieces on purpose so you have to pay more by the pound (I'm talking half a strawberry and a quarter of a kiwi) and they had whole cookies as toppings rather than the normal bite sizes. These are not toppings, more like side orders. And the biggest sting is that a whole cup of yogurt now costs $16!!! Not sure if I'd return to this location... read more

I frequent this location fairly often, but I'm not sure if I will be going back as frequently, or anymore. We went in and I asked for sample cups because I noticed they had new flavors out. We were informed by the lady that they don't do that anymore. She wasn't exactly the friendliest person either when she told us. But anyways, without the little cups, how are people supposed to decide on the flavor they want? I ended up using their big cups to sample flavors, and I'm glad I did because the one that sounded good wasn't exactly my favorite. I wonder why they did away with the little cups, I feel like any ice cream/yogurt shop allows you to try the flavors before you commit to purchasing. Between that and the customer service though... Yikes! Where to start... Bathroom had no toilet paper and was never attended to for the hour we were there. The place was a mess- fro yo everywhere and random puddles. Tables were not cleaned and almost toppled from how unstable they were. There were 2 staff on shift but only one was ever seen at a time, or none at all. Patrons had to wait for someone to come back to the register to check them out, sometimes for several minutes 8' honestly surprised some people waited and didn't just walk out. I was nearby and craving YL so decided to order online for a quick pickup at this Clairemont location. They are located by Five Guys and Target. There was plenty of parking today before noon. I originally wanted a later pickup but the girl i spoke to on phone earlier said order would be ready so no worries. The store was empty when i got there so it was nice and quiet. The two girls working were sooo kind and helpful. The location had cold ac, was clean, organized, and indoor seating. They were generous with their sample cups too (which dang it , i usually love samples but didn't feel like it since we already ordered). The order was already in their freezer ready for pick up. I really appreciated the handwritten note on the bag as it was a nice gesture :) They were out of our absolute favorite Alfonso Mango tart flavor so we settled for the regular tart with topping. The packaging was perfect and secure. The bag even included cute spoons AND some sort of anime stickers!!! Wtf!!! Yes!! Yogurtland WAS my favorite dessert spot in San Diego - not anymore :( Came in to try the new holiday flavors and of course leave with my favorite one. The employee saw me standing by the register and walked away to the back room. After waiting a couple minutes, I had to shout "Hello? Excuse me?" for her to slowly and with 0 friendliness return to the register. I asked for a sample cup and she said no, turned and walked back to the back room. I called her attention and showed her the sign saying to ask for sample cups. She said no they don't do that but she could give me a phone number for a manager. After spending a minute going through her personal cell phone, she changed her mind and would not give me any sort of contact information or business card for the store manager or ANYONE who worked at the shop. It's been many years since I visited Yogurtland. And nothing has changed ever since. This particular location is the one closer to us. Almost like an ice cream land so many to choose from. What I liked most about them, they have those sample tiny cups should you wish to try before pumping a whole load into your cup. You can mix different flavors according to your likings. Plenty of toppings to choose from. My favorite- cheesecake and dulce de leche. Very good to pair! And my top 2 on toppings are mochi and cheesecake crumbles. Store is tidy and clean.
