I'm gonna preface this by saying that I very rarely leave a bad review. The last time I left a review under 5 stars was back in January 2023. I hate to go out of my way to share a bad experience but there was just too many factors at this Krispy Kreme location that didnt sit well. We get there around 7pm, this is 3 hours before closing. We ask when the next batch of fresh donuts will be available and they said they were done for the night. what the... alright. as we are trying to talk to the person helping us, she is also taking orders on her headset for the drive thru. multitasking, cool, but why the heck is there 4 other guys just standing behind her not really doing anything. it was just so weird when we are trying to ask her questions and she just stands there staring at us and then responds to the person at the drive thru with her headset... especially with 4 other people just standing around. whatever, we finally get to tell her what we wanted and we just get one donut. as we are walking to the register, the whole gang of 4 dudes follow her. she stands there for a good minute and one of the guys standing around finally does something to the register and walks back to the group where they all continue to corral and gossip with each other. the whole time it was just awkward, no "one second, i gotta fix something on the register," just left it at nothing with us trying to figure out when the heck do we pay and gtfo there. we left with our almost $3 stale donut and annoyed by the overall trip. and if one of the 5 people up there was a manager, hey, not a good look for yall. im all for not overworking yourselves and talking about nonwork related stuff but how about you do it when customers are not around, especially if the customers are in the process of putting in an order. im giving this a 1 start because the donut was stale, ordering was a pain in the butt, and the vibes were not it. I'm probably never going here again. Id much give my money to a small, mom-n-pop donut shop than support this corporation and location. read more

First of all they definetly not crispy. Krispy Kreme has gone down hill. Prices went up and donut sizes went down. Shake my head. I drove all the way here to get the Pokémon donuts because I gotta catch them all, that's besides the point. The donuts were lackluster. They looked old and crusty. Aloha gang! I checked into Krispy Kreme to pick up some donuts for the nursing team at the VA Hospital as a "thank you" for the outstanding job they do everyday for the veterans here in San Diego. Krispy Kreme donuts are pillowy soft and melt in your mouth. My favorite is still the original glaze donut. Just the right sweet taste and when you buy the donuts during the hot light period, the donuts are heavenly good. I love Krispy Kreme, especially when they give you a got dougnut right off the conveyor belt. They really taste like no other doughnut. I've visited this located for many years since I was a teenager (many years ago) and have always loved Krispy Kreme. The donuts are fairly consistent and you know what you are getting. I love when they do specialty doughnuts, like the current Harry Potter. I am in love with this and had to bring my son so we could get our sorting had doughnuts and then try a few of the other flavors. They definitely didn't disappoint. The service is my only issue here. You tend to run into employees who really seem to hate where they are and hate to fake happiness or politeness. So disappointed in Krispy Kreme. It's been a couple of years since I purchased the special Halloween donuts they sell. I always loved the cute characters and the surprise filling in the puffy donuts. So WHY tell me I buy this year for my daycare the Halloween special donuts which cost $25.99 for dozen and only 2 of the puffy donuts have filling. All other puffy donuts have nothing inside. Sad day! Our favorite treat was the surprise filling. Shame on you Krispy Kreme price went up and you provide less to us loyal Consumers. I will not be buying again. read more

It's really shocking that a dozen of the original glazed donuts are now $19.99, the assorted dozen $20.99, and the specialty dozen $23.99!!!!! My boyfriend and I bought 2 dozens of the original glazed, but we were not at all happy that we spent $39.98! It's the same quality, but the prize was ridiculously high. They have a rewards program where you can redeem once you hit a certain number of points. I didn't have the app and proceeded to download it, but the lady rang us up before I could activate my account. She said there was a way to scan my receipt to claim my points, but she was rude and reluctant to help. I asked her where I would go to scan my receipt and she said "I'm not going to show you, figure it out on your own!" I eventually figured it out on my own, but didn't appreciate the lack of customer service. People with this negative attitude should not work in food service, or any job that requires interaction with customers. The donut shop was clean, but completely empty during our visit. The doughnuts at krispy Kreme are so fluffy and delicious. Almost every holiday they make holiday themed dougnuts. I've tried to make my own Krispy Kreme doughnuts but I admit for me it is nearly impossibl. I've tried everything but every time I bite into my donuts they don't taste nearly as good. They really taste like no other donut. I've eaten at Krispy Kreme a thousand times and I don't know how they get the doughnuts so good and tasty. We stopped by during the afternoon and it was perfect timing! Fresh green donuts were rolling out on the racks! I asked for my free donut and she picked a fresh one off the rack and was like, here you go! Got my free green donut! :) The donut was nice and warm, Yay! First bite, it was melt in your mouth heavenly! All I could think was, why did I wait so long to get one of these?!? By the afternoon a lot of the trays were already empty. We couldn't leave with just one donut, so we decided to get 3-pack. We got the Hat O'gold, Glazed lemon filled and Powdered strawberry filled. They were all delicious. My husband loved his strawberry filled powdered donut. His absolute fav kind of donut! The lemon glazed didn't really have a noticeable strong lemon flavor either. My receipt shows original glazed, but the tray was lemon?!? Not exactly sure which one I had... guess I will need to go back and try another lemon! It was a bit hectic inside when we arrived. Staff was friendly but they were busy handling bees that had gotten through a window or vent. A single donut will cost you $2.67. An assorted 3 pack costs $7.39. Date of most recent visit: March 16, 2024 This past weekend, Krispy Kreme was celebrating St. Patrick's Day by offering one free green glazed donut per customer; as we were on our way back north to L.A. County, my lady and I decided to get a quick snack. I know I came down hard on the Krispy Kreme location that opened near Sesame Donuts in my review of the latter several years ago, but you gotta admit... there's something about a freshly baked Krispy Kreme classic glazed that gets you right here. (I also have a soft spot for their creme-filled donuts.) What surprised us was their iced caramel latte - Kat had ordered one for the caffeine, and wow, you could actually taste the coffee! And, as a member of their loyalty club - based on a previous visit - I not only uploaded the app, I got a free donut for doing so! This particular Krispy Kreme is quite large and surprisingly clean for the area. The workers were friendly enough, and we liked how there were free paper hats on the tables. Definitely keeping this location in mind for a sweet treat after work (if I don't get one in the morning... apparently the galley at NMCSD contracts with Krispy Kreme to get leftover donuts)! read more

Friendly hello and thanks for waiting. Got a custard filled and a lemon filled, a maple and a chocolate, and the rest...hot glazed out of the machine! She also gave me a glazed on the house! Very good! My students were really happy when I pulled up! I don't know what people are complaining about. It's a commercial business. If you have high expectations, that's on you. Price is kinda high since the donuts are small, light, and airy. I would come up again if one of my hardworking students asked, but this location is far for me. Special review for the Fan Favorites collection: key lime, strawberries and cream, banana pudding and chocolate pudding. I had never tried any of these during my many years of Krispy Kreme fandom, so was stoked to get a delectable dozen today. The con--price was high ($28) and they include 4 plain origin donuts when they should include more flavors to justify the price. The pros--the filling scientists hit the mark, as each filling lived up to the donut's nostalgic dessert-themed name. Key lime unique tang came through well in filling. Would have liked even stronger flavor, but way better than the standard lemon-filled which is too weakly flavored. Cheerful green color icing with crumble texture topping. Strawberry Creme was pleasant but perhaps bc mine was somewhat light on filling, I wasn't wowed. Standard Raspberry-filled is better. Banana Creme pie filling had a just right flavor profile. Cute vanilla Wafer topping. Icing did not add any positive flavor, and perhaps dried this one a bit. Chocolate pudding was very rich, again perfect filling flavor profile. The filling seemed to spread moisture to the rest of the donut in a good way, as the chew was more satisfying. Possible that this batch was fresher or that minimal topping also kept it from drying out. Bottom line: the quality of the filling, and visual appeal, of this selection makes it a worthwhile seasonal purchase! read more

I am a Veteran and Senior Citizen. One thing I have taken clear note of in the last twenty or more years is how San Diego has changed for the worse. People are generally not nice anymore. They have lost touch with customer service and especially in how to communicate in a pleasant manner. Yesterday, on my way home to Santee after having an hour-long MRI at the VA Hospital in La Jolla, I took a detour and went up to Kearny Mesa via Hwy 52 up to Clairmmont Mesa Blvd. to go to the Krispy Kreme donut shop in that area for a couple of their fresh hot donuts and a cup of coffee. The woman who took my order was careless and sloppy. Careless by having dropped one of the donuts off the conveyor belt onto the floor. And sloppy because she left it there and, also because she went directly to the cash register and began to ring up the two donuts but did not take into consideration that I might want something else... like perhaps a nice cup of coffee to go with them. I had to interrupt her preceding with ringing up the donuts so that I could tell her that I wanted a cup of coffee as well. I asked for a small coffee. She said they only have medium and large. I said, Give me the smaller size. Then, she asked if I wanted cream and sugar. I asked... why don't you have that stuff out on the floor so that the customer can decide for themselves how much of it they want to put in their coffee? That part went way over her head. She instead took my suggestion as me being argumentative with her. I was NOT trying to argue with her. All I did was ask that question. How am I supposed to know how much cream and sugar I want if I cannot see it and taste it? She got all bent out of shape about that and called a young man over who approached me as if I were standing there with a weapon in my hand. Which, most certainly, was NOT the case. I was just a "customer" and between these two people working there, they both turned my visit there into a very disturbing and miserable experience. I finally was able to take the two donuts and cup of coffee over to a table, sit down, relax, and enjoy my little treat. I don't always go into a donut shop like this because it's not the best thing for your health, but once in a great while, I like to treat myself. These two people who work there treated me with major disrespect and a pure 100% lack of decency and customer service. They need to be fired from the way that I view this situation. I was in a great mood when I went into that place, but those two people ruined my visit. The woman was from another country, and the young man seemingly was too. He had dark-rimmed glasses and was extremely abrupt and rude toward me, even threatening me! THAT is not the way to treat customers!
