Awesome buffet , after pandemic mess going to a nice buffet it feels good. Hope will control do good

Well, this place was disappointing, we were all excited because of the good reviews, after we checked out, we understood why, there's a coupon if you give a 5 star review on Yelp, they'll give you 10% off. I tried several items and the only two I was able to eat was the sweet and sour chicken, plain with no sauce and the crab rangoons. Everything else either tasted off or overdone, I tried the fried rice(overdone), bouron beef(tasted off), general Tso's(tasted off), spring rolls(tasted under done). We've been here twice over a couple of years and have never been satisfied. The food barely has any flavor and lacks quality. Lots of the desserts, cookies and breads are from Sams Club which is next door. read more

We usually go to this buffet once a year, only because it is a favorite for one in our group. It is typical of many average to below average chinese buffets. On our last visit, my wife and I found a couple of items we trusted and made a meal of those. Between items that have been on the buffet way too long and others that were mislabeled, we just weren't willing to venture too far out of our comfort zone. It's an Asian buffet. It's good. I ate here. I overdid it. I can't breath. It's the best (non Indian) Asian buffet in the Louisville area. It's clean, the food tastes pretty fresh, and they have a great variety that I think everyone can enjoy. It's a definite five star because if anyone I know wanted a great Asian buffet of this variety, this is where I would lead them to. It's definitely on par or better than some of the asian buffets I've been to. I hope they keep it up. I'm not saying it's the finest Asian food in town. But it's the best in it's class. If I want to eat a ton of chinese food and sushi rolls for cheap, this is what I'd do. Worst customer service experience EVER! They don't care about the customer. The place is dirty. My daughter sat in gum that was on the seat of the booth we were seated in. When we notified management. The owners first response was to insinuate my daughter was lying and state he has cameras. Then he walked to the booth came back saying no gum. When I went to pick up the gum from the booth, I was followed. His next words was sue me. He did not correct the incident. When my husband stated he didn't give a damn about his customers he was told not to return as 2 men came from the back of the restaurant I'm supposing the kitchen to intimidate him. read more

my child's birthday dinner experience didn't go as expected water leaked from the ceiling over the table we were seated at it dripped all in my child's hair and into his food the manager only comped $6 on a $70 bill they didn't close that table off they lack empathy and should show better concern for their customers me and my family visit annually since this establishment opened it doesn't feel the same the anymore maybe it's under new management read more

The food was excellent. However, I will not return because of the large cockroach my friend killed on our table. When brought to the attention of the guy who rang us up, he shrugged and said "sorry". We were thankfully finished eating before our visitor showed up. Also, when we left, we saw the "C" rating by the health department, partially obscured because the doors were wide open. We thought that was odd because it's early September and still hot and humid here, and their air conditioning was on. It appears that they were trying to conceal their low rating. read more

Went here mainly for the seafood but were disappointed. Cold shrimp was good but there was no horseradish in the cocktail sauce (basically just ketchup). They had no frog legs and the crab is blue crabs which had been fried too long and very dry. The crawfish needed some spicy seasoning. The food on the steam table was only fair and everything tasted the same. Fruit table and desert table looked very good. More attention could have been paid to cleaning up spills. I was impressed the first time I went. It's a big nice buffet restaurant with a lot of food options from salad bar, sushi bar, typical chinese dishes, some American dishes like pizza, chicken tenders, and wings, hibachi grill, soup noodle station, to dessert bar. Their seafood options include crawfish, fried blue crabs, clams, cocktail shrimps, mussels, octopus, steamed fish, sashimi, etc..But i was disappointed that they don't have the crab legs like other Chinese buffet restaurants. I like the seasonings of most of the dishes. The food tastes fresh most of the time (not always the case with my subsequent visits). I think it's a good place to go to eat once in a while, but not all the time (I'm sick of buffet food after going to eat buffet too much!). read more

This is currently the best Chinese Buffet in town for me. For $12.99 (dinner) and $8.49 (lunch), you can't beat the quality or the abundance of food. My favorite here is the seafood, specifically the fried blue crab. It's large, seasoned, lightly battered than fried. The meat is sweet, succulent and so well seasoned (weekend dinner only though). Other seafood items include crawfish, raw oysters, shrimps, fish, etc. It's hard to find decently priced seafood in town, so all you can eat seafood makes this a winner for me! Sushi bar offers a variety of options, the rice is soft and the ingredients fresh. On busy nights you can see them make it right in front of you. There's also a noodles and hibachi bar with lots of options. Everything else is typical Chinese buffet fare but the seasoning and freshness is a notch above the rest. The chicken tenders is surprisingly delicious! Lunch is a steal at $8.49/person, they just don't offer seafood or hibachi grill. Spacious, clean and friendly staff. From the outside, it still looks like Hometown Buffet. On the inside, it's a completely remodeled vision. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the prices are fair, and the food is varied and fresh. This is a pretty typical Chinese buffet, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be pleased. The spread includes a good variety of dishes, including lots of seafood even on a weeknight. There are also American treats like pizza and chicken tenders, so even picky kids will have plenty to choose from. The sushi bar has a good variety, including sashimi ahi tuna...not a common sight. One complaint would be a rather weak Wasabi, but overall, the sushi selection is fresh and unique for a buffet. Another pleasant surprise is the vast dessert bar. Desserts at Chinese buffets tend to be disappointing, but tonight's selection included a few items that we'd never seen before, including a very tasty mint mousse cup. Ice cream and sweet biscuits round out the fare (love those little donuts!). Overall, we had a pleasant experience with fresh food and friendly service. We will return. read more

This was our first time here as we just moved here and we were looking for great place to eat. The atmosphere was pretty typically for a Chinese restaurant. And based on reviews I have read this sums up this place: 1. The food was basic and underwhelming. Also the name tags for most of the food was out of place. So good luck knowing what you're getting. 2. The hibachi was super tiny and with one person line was very long. They need more of a selection and more veggies. 3. We have been going to Yoki for the past few years and sadly, I think last evening may be our final trip. The quality and variety has been on a steady decline but now it's just not worth it. Our biggest issue was cleanliness. While we appreciate napkin holders on each table, there was at least a quarter inch of dust on top of it, same with every window ledge I saw. The plexiglass dividers between booths were heavily laden with greasy fingerprints, same with the windows and doors. I shudder to think how the kitchen must look. This place kills the China Buffet game. Fresh food every time we go. I've been to almost every China Buffet in Louisville and this is by far the best one. The food was awful. My mother in law brought us here for the first time and it was definitely not worth the $50 we spent. The general tso's chicken didn't taste right. I usually love general tso's chicken but not today. You could tell the food had been sitting on the buffet for a minute everything was hard. Our waiter only checked on us once. Hello everyone, let me start by saying that this is my first negative encounter with Yoki Buffet. Normally, it isn't too bad, but today everything--from the service to the meal to the silverware--was awful. First, when we arrived, everything was fine; we were seated and given drinks, but as time went on, our plates piled up and no one came to collect them, causing the table to become crowded. Additionally, no one filled up our water, and for the entire hour I was there, I only received one cup of water, and that was at the start of the service. Second, the food was so bland that I had to season it myself with salt and pepper to bring out the tastes; otherwise, I don't think I could have enjoyed the meal. Last but not least, the silverware near the self-serve ice cream station was so filthy that when I picked up a spoon and discovered food stains on it, it made me throw up. I then looked in the spoon holder and discovered that the other spoons were similarly contaminated. If Yoki is reading this, please get your restaurant in order since I will no longer be eating at the buffet; you have lost a devoted customer. (Also, although I didn't wanna tip, they still included it on my receipt; the waitress did such a poor job, I don't think she deserves it.) read more

Not many Chinese buffets left anymore, at least in this area. Food was ho-hum at best...nothing tasty. There was lots to choose from as the buffet is pretty big. Unfortunately, the food quality is too low for the price they charge. Listen if I could give Yoki 10 stars I would. This is the second time coming here and they've far above exceeded what I expect from an Asian buffet. My girlfriend and I just left from eating there and I cannot hold my excitement to review this place for two big reasons. The food was good, a tad bit better than most Asian buffets I've tried and they also had a good selection. I went into the place 100% grouchy and grumpy because my hunger was getting the best of me. Food was the only thing that would straighten me out and make me a good person again. And this place did just that and not just because of the food. Long story short as I sat down with my first plate of food an issue arose, I won't say what but when the waitress found out and then told the manager they reacted promptly and with honest concern. I got up to get another plate of food because again I was starving and then manager walked up to me, and with honest concern on the managers face apologized and told me the meal was on them. They took a bad situation and flipped it around and turned it into a restaurant experience that doesn't come around often. I'll definitely be returning to Yoki, and not because they gave us free food but because they honestly genuinely care about their restaurant and the customers that dine in it. I never leave reviews and feel that sometimes even a bad experience is understandable due to food or staff, whatever it may be. But immediately when walking in, it smells bad (and yes, I know it's cause they have seafood but...it's not a pleasant). We found an actual piece of metal in our chicken as well that looked like it was from a steel cleaning brush. The food was just as disappointing and honestly gross. This is the first time I have eaten at Yoki Buffet l found the overall image of the restaurant to be good considering that it was previously a Hometown buffet that I found to a lower level national branded buffet. They have a large selection of shellfish cooked , Fried shellfish baked fish,sushi and habachi items and desserts. Our server David was nice and provided us with drink refills before asked I thought was very nice and doesn't always happen at every place I eat.
