It's under new owners but in my opinion my special fried rice is still just as good if not better! I think people are just sad to see the previous owners go. I will miss the previous owner a great deal. They treated me like family and always remembered me and pick up at our last conversation. They will be missed. But this place is still so good. The special fried rice: rice, eggs, green and white onions, chicken, beef, and shrimp. Amazing!! And the chef is really nice and good to kids. He gives them free sugar donuts. His English is fair but sometimes it's hard to understand him. But he's really hospitable. My second time back since the new owners. It still hits the spot. read more

This is your typical American Chinese place. Not bad, not great. The braised wings are actually tempura fried. They come with a dipping sauce that is actually not bad. I was afraid it would be really sweet but it was more on the savory side. These are split wings and you get four for 4.50. The hot and sour soup is not bad but is neither of those things in the name. It has shrimp and isn't a bad soup on its own merits. Will be back to try some pork dishes. read more

Horrible food! Small portions. I ordered thru Doordash and paid over $9 for Hunan Shrimp ENTREE which is described as JUMBO shrimp but what I received was a plastic lunch container with very small shrimp and very few of them. The rice and an egg roll were in the same container as other restaurants might do for a lunch special. The taste was not good at all and I order from several chinese/asian restaurants around town so I have a lot to compare it to. I called to complain (which I normally never do) and the owner was very nice and offered to send out another order but after starting to eat the food I called him back and told him not to bother. More like Golden hole in the wall! Came in when I saw the "$5 sushi lunch" sign outside. Was greeted when I came in and talked to the guy behind the counter as I ordered. Sushi was actually the marked price on the menu ($5.99) but I didn't actually ask about the deal. My expectations were surpassed. I was given an eggroll before my sushi was made as a part of the meal. After some time I was presented a beautifully crafted sushi roll (Golden color roll) that fell apart easily but not enough to make a mess. For the price of that meal I was very pleased. More cheap than good. The Hot N Sour Soup for $1.50 seemed like a good idea, but it was fairly tasteless. It was reminiscient of the stock hot n sour soups a lot of chinese places serve. Very average. Also tried the Vegetable Lo Mein. It would have been good except it didn't have all the vegetables it said on the menu. And the Hong Sui Chicken...the chicken and breading were ok, but the sauce tasted like stock hot n sour (pink) with cayenne and white pepper in it. I was expecting a more savory sauce. Best thing I can say is that they use fresh white mushrooms, instead of the canned ones (hate those). Not terrible, but there should be better options. read more

I always loved coming in when under original ownership. I loved the recipes for the price, and the waitress would recall what me and my family order each time even if it has been a while. I really liked the larger chunks of water chestnuts and crunchy vegie to meat ratio. Today I tried for the first time since new owners. What I order is not as great now, but is still better than most. Most people will like the more meat to veggie ratio. The prices have gone up. Sadly the menu on the counter has old pricing and there will be no honoring the price as stated on the original menu since it is correct on the wall. I will give it another try and hope they do right and update the prices everywhere. Part of my rating is due to them keeping the wonderful iced tea. read more

The original owner retired. Under new management. After trying to place my order for 20 minutes with the attendant, the one that understands basic English shows up from break 17:00. I place my order, and said that I Hope the food is as good as before and he replied with I Hope so too. Well the order was completely wrong even after I asked him to repeat my order. This place actually has pretty delicious food! I wish that were the only thing that mattered. We have only ordered food to be delivered from here, so I have never actually been to the restaurant itself. I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant and not getting carry out or delivery. The reason I'm not giving them more stars, isn't because the food isn't great. The reason is when we order food to be delivered, they send it in normal to go boxes. This would be fine if the food didn't have so much sauce, but since it does the food ends up leaking all over the place. Ever time we have gotten it our to go boxes show up completely smushed down and with almost all of the sauce inside the bag and all over everything. If they got nicer to go containers, we would order from them more. After the last time they showed up so bad, we've decided not to order from here anymore. Both of our to go boxes had been flattened and we had lost most of the sauce for everything we ordered. It's a shame because we love the food! The Kung Pao Tofu is one of our favorites. It's has just enough spiciness and a delicious flavor. I hope in the future they consider upgrading their carry out containers so we can order from them again! read more

I should have read the reviews!! I usually do but I was rushing. I hate giving bad reviews but PLEASE save ur $ or go somewhere else! We ordered 3 combo plates and wonton soup. First and foremost they gave the smallest amt of food I've ever seen. So I expected some really good food. WRONG! I had 10 of the smallest, toughest pieces of chicken. The vegetables were softer. I actually had to look and c if it was chicken. Absolutely no taste. Fried rice had no onions or flavor. Terrible. The soup? That had flavor..black pepper. Looked like someone dropped the shaker in the pot. There were 2 big wonton I'm guessing homemade. Very little filling. My soN had sweet and sour chicken. He said it wasn't s/s chicken but it was an ok. He'd eat from there if someone gave it to him lol but he wouldn't spend his $. To top it off we didn't get egg rolls. This is my favorite Chinese food place in Louisville. My boyfriend and I get take-out here once every couple months. They have the best crab rangoons I've ever tasted. Their egg rolls are delicious. Fried rice, just how I like it, with onion and egg. My boyfriend always gets general tso's, extra spicy, and says it never disappoints. The woman who runs the desk is so sweet and remembers what we order, even when it's been longer than normal. Once, as we were getting in our car, she came running out after us with the spicy mixture for my boyfriends chicken. She said that the cook forgot to make it spicy and didn't want us to leave without it. Also, sometimes she'll give us some of their homemade spicy mustard, which is much too hot for my taste, but my boyfriend loves it. To sum up though, the food is excellent, the staff is great, and I'm always smiling when I walk out the door. read more

Whether I call or walk in, she knows it's me and what I want. I've tried a lot over the years but nothing compares to hot braised chicken and crab Rangoons. Their rice is amazing too.
