For real!! Hands down best buffet in town even compared to other cuisines and not just Chinese. I have been to every buffet in Louisville I swear because I'm soooooo cheap and my son typically eats for $4. You could make an argument that Alhmara on bardstown road (Mediterranean food) is one of the better ones in regards to food quality but I'm sticking with Yoki. Here's why: Seafood: For dinner these guys have real salmon, tuna, albacore fresh and diced so you dont have to pick them off the sushi rolls And yes they have an amazing selection of sushi from your Cali, Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Crunch rolls, and Seaweed salad. Their seafood is topnotch! Chinese Authenticity: From chinese bbq pork seasoned with traditional red bbq sauce, to the Mongolian beef and onions, lo mien, chicken and brocolli with oyster sauce...All the dishes are very authentic and cooked with the right spices and not your typical cheap and cold food from other chinese buffets. American food: These guys have little jojo's or potato wedges!! And they're crispy and fried to perfection. Hot wings, twice cooked stuffed potatoes, I mean even their American food is on point!! Dessert: I had frick'n pecan pie and cheesecake for dessert today y'all! Serious?!? It may not have been freshly made but still very good quality. My only knock is I wish they had soft serve ice cream!! Service: Always on point, waitresses are attentive, polite, and restaurant is clean. This place is awesome, a couple dollars more than other places but that's because they have high grade food! You know an Asian buffet is good when you see other asians there ALL the time!! Ever since my favorite buffet closed in Fern Creek I've been looking for something comparable. I'd heard good things about Yoki Buffet from several people so I thought maybe I would have some luck: sadly, I was wrong. The restaurant was clean and they had a decent amount of staff working. However, when we went to go get our food, literally all of the food we got was old. It was disappointing. They did freshen up some of the dishes but it wasn't until ten or fifteen minutes into our meal. The sushi was particularly off putting. It was a little too hard for my taste and some of the rolls were fried..fried sushi is not good cold. 0/10 would not recommend. I also had a few pieces of bourbon chicken that were almost completely cartilage, which I could not chew. Once I finally got some fresh food, it was alright. I got more chicken, green beans (which were honestly my favorite thing at the buffet- they were cooked all the way through but still crunchy and had great flavor), glazed mushrooms, sweet and sour chicken, a bao, and a few gyoza. Overall I would not come back here. It was definitely overpriced for the quality and freshness of the food ($15.99 for the dinner buffet). I will continue my search for a good Chinese buffet because this definitely wasn't it. read more

So if you tamper your expectations and go in with the mindset that you have perhaps made some bad life choices and that you are eating at an Asian buffet restaurant then you probably won't be disappointed. For an actual buffet of Asian food, it wasn't horrible. The food seemed to be turned over relatively quickly and didn't appear to have been sitting there for hours (or days) and the overall selection was decent. You had all your heavy hitters like general tso's, beef and broccoli ect. I can't say that it is the best Chinese/asian place I've ever eaten at, but I wasn't horribly disappointed. If you're looking for a place with a bunch of options and trying to stretch your food to money ratio then this might be a good option for you. read more

Filling the craving while hungry and many options can be difficult. The buffet is much like other Chinese buffets you take the good and you take the bad to see what you like. So many options to choose from. Since I'm a semi-regular here I choose the same items most of the time unless I'm feeling daring or my normal doesn't take or look good. I go for the freshest items. If you want they have a Mongolian grill to cook to order. So if you are in the mood for fried, grilled, seafood, sushi or loads of desserts you find it here. Worst buffet I have ever been to, hands down. The food was absolutely horrible. Wife and I went at supper time, so food should have been reasonably fresh, but looked and tasted like it had been sitting out there for 3 or 4 days. Not to mention that the place was nasty dirty. Never the less, we aren't terribly hard to please, and we were trying to be optimistic, but it was so bad that we decided we couldn't eat it. I politely approached the counter and asked if a manager was available. I discretely made them aware of our dissatisfaction, and expected them to offer a refund. When they didn't, I politely asked for one, as we only tried enough food to find out it was not edible. They suggested that maybe we weren't used to Chinese food, and insisted it was excellent food. The more I insisted that the food was terrible, the more rude they got. In the end, they refused to refund our money, and made it clear that they did not care about our business. If you want decent food and a reasonably clean environment in which to eat it, DO NOT GO TO YOKI BUFFET! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE! read more

The buffet LOOKS great, however, I've never had to spit out so much food after one chew. I ended up only swallowing the veggies, rice, and crab rangoons. The tea tasted like the same teabag had been reused for at least a week. At least. Literally. My husband and sons like the fried shrimp, crawfish and crab. I like this Asian buffet better than all of the other Asian/Chinese buffet around town. There, I said it. I don't know what some of the reviewers are complaining about. This buffet is brand new and shiny. For $12.99 (weeknight), the offerings are more varied than all of the other buffets. The sushi bar is clean and well stocked. It looks a whole lot cleaner than the sushi bar at Jumbo. The sushi are all dainty and rolled with skill. During a recent weekday dinner trip here, I inhaled a couple piles of the freshest tuna and salmon sashimi. The hot items included steamed flounder, salt and pepper crab clusters as well as other more common chicken and beef items. I was so full I did not touch half of the other items. Needless to say, I was more than satisfied with my choice of restaurant on that night. Service was also friendly and efficient. I am a big fan of buffets, because I like to have a bite of everything, and I really enjoy Chinese buffets... but this one fell totally flat. When we walked up to the buffet for the first time, 70% of the dishes were empty/down to crumbs or clearly very old. It was our first time here, and I genuinely considered walking out. We grabbed what we could, sat down, and picked at what we got. They did refill numerous dishes by our second trip, but the quality wasn't there. The restaurant itself is a very typical Chinese buffet with lots of booths/tables and intricate decor, but cleanliness wasn't present either. My husband didn't care for it at all. Said the noodles were rubbery (I did not have them) and he didn't like the taste of the General Tso's chicken (I thought it was ok). I didn't think the restaurant was bad, I just didn't think it was great. It was clean, the buffet was well-stocked and there was plenty of variety. Clean and well supplied buffet. I always scout the bathroom of a buffet before I sit down and this one was incredibly clean. Clean restroom is a good indicator ID the cleanliness in the kitchen. That's worth a star into unto itself. I went on a weekday evening and enjoyed the selection including the sushi and sashimi. There could have been a few more beef dishes, but there was more than enough to leave the belly full. My glass was kept full with soda and the woman attending to my table was prompt and courteous in removing used plates. Very reasonably priced buffet. read more

Accidentally walked in the kitchen doors thinking I was headed to the bathroom and almost walked right into a fly trap. Low and behold there is about 100+ flytraps hanging in the kitchen like it's a slaughter house The smell coming out the kitchen was so putrid I couldn't bring myself to get anymore food. First they were open on Easter. I am a truck driver in Louisville for a few more days. Had dinner here. The parking lot was full ALL DAY!! I always love me a good Chinese Buffet. Yoki Buffet is in a great location, right by the movie theater, Main Event and Malibu Jack's, so it's a great place to have a quick dinner before your fun festivities. Yoki Buffet is a bit better in some ways than your typical buffet. It's bigger, nicer on the inside and has more food to choose from. They've got everything from a full sushi bar, chinese, magnolia BBQ to miscellaneous. For the most part, everything was pretty good. I wasn't a huge fan of their sushi, as it tasted pretty stale and not fresh. I can't complain about anything else, though. Yoki Buffet was your average american chinese buffet. The hibachi/stirfry/soup station worker was extremely antisocial and very unwelcoming. He gave attitude whenever he was asked to do something extra. Hate kids that come to work with a stank attitude. Its truly the worst when you come across that at a restaurant. My expectations were not that high we just wanted a lot to eat for super cheap and we got that. Some things were clearly an old batch that was reheated even though it was Saturday night. They weren't that packed for the weekend. But the location is good and the lot is decent. The interior is okay looking, clean at best. Like I said food was alright but $12.99 for a saturday night is an okay price, wouldve been even better if the food was amazing. But you can't have it all lol. I have been going to Chinese Buffets for many years. From New York , where I am from originally to Chicago where I live now, this facility beats out most of them all. I was pleasantly surprised from the time we were greeted by a very happy smiling host, to quickly getting us seated, to the nice upbeat dinner music, to the very crafty way they utilize server gloves that are not cumbersome to put on or wear. Now the food, amazing and fresh!!! The sushi layout was so nicely done, and so vast, there was even crab legs. Our table service was perfect, always there but never really seen. People kept a respectable distance and all were very polite. Place was immaculate. The price was extremely reasonable for the choices you get to pick from All I can say is thank you. Should change their name to "Yucky Buffet"! Saw the review ratings and thought we'd give it a chance. Got back to our table took a bite of the butter shrimp and it was cold, as in room temperature. Spit it out. Bite of egg roll. Cold, spit it out. Crab Rangoon, cold and no crab. Spit it out. Chinese spare ribs, lukewarm. Except for the hot and sour soup everything on the steam table was cold. Brought this to the host's attention and he got manager. Manager said he'd check. Got a thermometer, lifted the pan of Butter Shrimp and stuck it in the water, under the pan, on the steam table. He says "120 degrees so is OK." I told him that the food was supposed to be 140 degrees, not the water, and asked him to stick it in the shrimp. Which he didn't, just kept making excuses saying "Is OK". To which I told him, since I have 25+ years restaurant experience, that according to USDA, FDA and Jefferson County Health Department standards, it was not OK. To show him this I said look, and touched the the steam table and held my fingers there for 15-20 seconds. I said "If it was as hot as it should be I shouldn't be able to do this for more than a couple of seconds." While we're talking, the pan of Butter Shrimp which is 1/2 full, employee comes from kitchen and dumps fresh(?) Butter Shrimp on top of the old and cold butter shrimp and stirs it in. Manager says "See, will be warmer now." I told him that you're not supposed to add fresh food to old food, and food on steam table can only be held 2 hours and then it's to be thrown away. A customer who was nearby and making a carryout order lifted the lid on his Styrofoam to go box. I glanced over and saw he'd loaded up on the Butter Shrimp, he sticks his finger inside, feels the shrimp, and tells Manager it's cold and doesn't want it. Manager shakes his head, says something to the host in Chinese and walks away. Host asks my date and I to follow him. We walk back to the front counter and he tells us "You don't have to pay. You can leave now." So we left and won't be back. How this place got a current 95% rating from Health Department confuses the heck out of me. I will be calling Jefferson County Health Department tomorrow. Their phone number is 502-574-6520. I suggest if you've eaten here and had a bad experience to give them a call also. I saw this on a guys tiktok so figured I would give it a shot. It was barley just ok. the craw fish were a huge dissapointment. They had been on the bar since they hatched or severely over cooked either was the meat was mushy almost not edible. The hibachi was best part but selection was small. The place was just a regular Chinese buffet. I came here because people boasted that they had different things and I can to eat crab . I was given a cup with a long crack in it that caused my drink to leak all over the table while I was getting food . There was no crab or anything else different that u expected . Also, wait staff was a bit overbearing . At one point they came and sat at a table near people eating and just watched them . When it came time to pay I could barely finish signing the receipt before she was at the table trying to take it . It's been years since I've been to a Chinese buffet! But when a random craving struck, my friend recommended Yoki Buffet - and man, it didn't disappoint. The selection is borderline-overwhelming. They have an entire wall of your traditional options - sweet and sour chicken, three different types of shrimp, General Tso chicken, salt and pepper chicken, chicken on a stick, beef and broccoli, fried rice, lo mein, crab rangoon, eggrolls, spring rolls, roasted potatoes, and the list goes on and on. I was impressed with the variety of sushi that they had. For someone who is looking to try different types of sushi without committing to an entire roll - this is the place to go. And like most other Chinese buffets, Yoki has a Mongolian grill for those who want fresher or healthier options. The place was clean and the service was good. Our waitress took our plates quickly and refilled our drinks a couple of times during our visit. Man I'm so disappointed. Very underwhelmed. This place has really gone down hill from when it first opened. It use to be really good, but now it's just all one note. And that note is a flat one. All the food pretty much tastes the same. And the variety is lacking for sure. And the food that there just is unappetizing. We keep trying to give this place a chance because friends insist that our experience is not the norm and that we probably keep going on an off night. Well, I think I can say after our recent visit that this place is a strong miss. I will say that the one upside to this place is the size of the place that allows it to offer so many different options. I know that I'm able to get options that satisfies my kiddo and while I do not enjoy sushi- my husband loves the options here. However, outside of the perk I will have to say that maybe all of the options puts them at a disadvantage when food seems bland, soaked in oil, cold, stale, and visibly not fresh as though it has been sitting there for much too long.
