    Spicy Margarita

We had a good experience at Yolanda's. We reserved a large table for a family gathering, and they were very accommodating. The staff was super friendly and provided great service for our large group. The restaurant is brightly decorated with Mexican décor. We ordered the famous Corn Burritos. I highly recommend getting everything on the side so the corn tortillas do not get soggy. Request a side of Ranchero Sauce to dip your corn burritos in (see the photo). The corn burritos were fried to crispy perfection, and the flavor of the meat was nicely done. Also, grab some habanero salsa from their salsa bar. We also got the Soft Taco Plate with carnitas. This was a ton of food. The tacos come with an ample amount of meat, and the beans and rice fill out the dish nicely. I had to share this plate because I couldn't finish it on my own. Finally, make sure to order a spicy margarita. This was an amazing drink, and the spice level was just right. The Tajín rim adds to the flavor of the drink and is much better than salt. We really enjoyed Yolanda's!

We were given a small bag, half full of chips for 12 dinners.

We had a large party to serve. and because they don't take reservations, we decided to order food as takeout. The food was ok. There were 12 dinners ordered. One of the orders was the California shrimp, and it was more of a soup than what I had ordered in the past. We were only given a very small bag of chips to share. Everyone there seem to be very friendly and kind, but I think I'm going to stick with the Oxnard restaurant. The food seems to be better there.

This is a great place to grab some brunch , they have a great menu for drinks and food !! I usually order the tortilla soup , very very good , chile relleno is also a great choice , my hubby ordered the chicken tacos vert tasty , over all service is always perfect . Our server took forever to bring us our bill not sure why , the place was empty .. over all I loved the back ground music and the quiet

Ask the Community - Yolanda's Mexican Cafe

Are the refried beans vegetarian? Or do they have a vegetarian option for beans?

The refried beans are cooked with lard. They do have whole pinto beans that are vegetarian.

How about now? Are they open yet? As of 4/3:17?

No. I used to work there and they let us know with 2-3 months advance they were closing. I emailed the main office a few days ago and i spoke to a woman who replied to me saying that Yolanda's would re-open sometime in June. I didn't get to ask why…

    Are they open yet?

I just called corporate, was advised even though they were hoping to open Spring 2017, it looks more like it'll be the begininning of June. I was assured it'll be worth the wait.

Last Sunday we were ready to get out of the relentless summer heat of the east side of the county,…read moreand headed for the coast. I told Dear Hubby that fish & chips at the harbor seemed like a great idea, and he agreed. Initially, I tried to get us a table upstairs at Brophy Brothers, overlooking the water. That was going to be about an hour's wait, so we retreated downstairs to Brophy's fast casual option - On The Alley. Essentially, it's the same fish & chips recipe, so all good there. The line was short and moved pretty quickly. While DH finished up ordering, I went out to the indoor-outdoor room to scout a table. I wasn't able to get one against the window, but we were still able to have a water view, just a bit further away. DH was hungry, so he ordered a burger, as well as the fish & chips. He shared a small portion of said burger, and it was really good. At a Brophy's establishment, I think of seafood, but thumbs up on that burger! The portion of fries they provided were extra generous. We missed having Adored Granddaughter with us, as she would have help demolish those fries! We brought some home to revive in the air fryer. I only had water, as they don't really have any beverage options that work with my restrictive dietary preferences. (i.e., no caffeine, and low- or no-sugar). The fish & chips hit the spot, although the fish was somewhat oilier than usual. DH got a cup of their delicious clam chowder, which was served with their delicious sourdough bread. That I got to have some of, and happier for it. Sunday afternoon at the harbor made for a great spot to people-watch. There were lots of folks who seemed like they had come from points east to get a break from the heat, just like us. We all tend to have a look that doesn't portray "Ventura local". Lots of young families, which was nice to see. Made us miss our granddaughter, for sure.

If you love seafood, you gotta check this place out in Ventura. Located right off Main Street, you will find them in the middle of Palm Street. Great ambiance and decor at this resteraunt. They have a bar with TVs so good place to catch sports as we are there for the World Cup. We ordered the grilled malhi tacos and the tuna melt. Both dishes will run you around $20 bucks and THE QUALITY HERE IS SUPERB. Food is very flavorful and fresh. Both items were a 10/10 and can't reccomend enough. Cant wait to come back and try a couple dishes that caught my eye from their menu. Thanks Rumfish y Vino for the great food and hospitality. Till next time!

Ordered the usual Watermelon Mojito and fish taco. The tortilla was extremely oily and flat and smooth unlike any tortilla I've seen. The grilled mahi mahi was very overcooked, dry and almost dusty tasting, I did not finish the taco. Fries were okay. I've been here for many meals but something seems to be different! I usually love the flatbread pizza, the leche de tigre ceviche is not what you'd hope of a true leche de tigre. Dragonfruit caipiroska is on the bland side but love the mojito. Still enjoy the $9 and $10 wines and cocktails.
