I haven't been to this fruit stand since I was a kid. It's not how I remembered it. Almost everything they sell is way overpriced. Some of the fruit was already rotting. It looked like they were also selling stuff from grocery stores but for more money. The fruit we did buy was pretty good, just a little expensive. They have different types of jerky. My daughter picked out the Buffalo Jerky. She hasn't tried it yet so not sure how good it is. We also bought some dried mango, my family enjoyed that. The employees were nice. It was very hot inside. I honestly probably wouldn't come back.

Stopped by on our way home from Vacaville Outlets because my friend wanted some fresh produce. I was hot and cranky but since it was literally RIGHT off the freeway I said okay. It is actually a little market so it is more than a fruit stand. Produce was iffy on some things so you really have to be selective or maybe because it has been 100 degrees that things are wilting? I did pick up a few things I needed. What I did like was the dried fruit and nut selection. Prices are not the lowest. I'd say comparable to Trader Joes without the flair. The lady at the register was nice. It's an alright place to stop but expected prettier produce. I'd worry a little about the shelf life but since I was using it within a day I was not as worried.

Yolo Fruit Stand - out there, frontage road, south side Hwy 80, before causeway heading east.

This place is a must-drop-by. You can get a full spectrum of produce at an affordable price and it is located to freeway I-80 eastbound.

Nice Highway stop on your way to Reno or Lake Tahoe. We bought some fruits. They weren't expensive. Place was clean and well maintained.

I wasn't a huge fan of banana chips until I found them here. Giant bags, cheap, organic, and delicious. I drive an hour to get these gems!

Parking here is a breeze as they have their own open lot with plenty of spaces. Walking in,it's tough not to just be instantly mesmerized by the pure beauty of the local fresh fruit available. Beautiful peaches, nectarines, cherries and berries-it all look so gorgeous. Inside was a little cramped and I went before they were named the #1 pie shop in America,I'd imagine those tight quarters are having a time handling the crowds it's getting now. My top 3 things I love about Ikedas are as follows. 1.I've always loved the availability of their yummy tamales and really tasty chicken pot pies. Both are generally available fresh or frozen if you want to enjoy these goodies at home. 2.I've always loved the massive availability of hot sauces and snacks that both locations of Ikedas have always had on hand.I always made it a point when I was coming down the hill to stop at Ikedas in Auburn for a tasty tamale-now that I realize the Davis location is so much closer,I can see being able to enjoy those tamales and pot pies so much more often. 3.Pies-enjoying a pie from Ikedas always felt like something that locals knew and they shared with us out-of-towners whenever we happened to visit one of their 2 locations. With the recent award they received naming them best pie shop in America,I imagine those days are over and the secret is out.Now everyone will know what we knew way back when and hopefully this doesn't change them,I hope they can keep the high level of quality with what I'm sure will be a huge leap in demand-I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can. A bonus thing I love about Ikedas is their fruit freezes-they are so good,my niece hipped me to these and man are they worth the price of admission alone-they are so yummy-do yourself a favor and make sure to try one of these on your next trip to Ikedas. In closing, I'm so happy that Ikedas is finally getting the flowers they deserve with their recent award and I am proud to say I voted for them myself. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting one of their two locations,do yourself a favor and get out there and grab some yummy fruit and a piece of pie-it's a good day spent for sure.

I've got to say if there was a higher award possible, they'd win that too. The pie was fresh and delicious. I could taste every ingredient. I can tell they don't skip any steps in their pie making process. Their success is justified. Expect lines to remain long and the demand for their pies to stay high. It's worth it. Can't wait to go back and try their apple pie. $30 isn't much when the pie tastes like it was made in heaven.

The International Food Market carries 2 brands of them, both inexpensive. If you've never shopped here, it's an amazing store with such a wide variety of items for such a small store. Ambiance: there is a lot of cultural food to choose from and there is usually no music playing. Shoutout(s): to the selection. You can buy basic bubblegum to frozen tamales, even pita. Location review: it's small, but nice. It's near a goodwill and comic shop so it's in a fun location. Service: the service is ok. Employees aren't the most extraverted. They help answer your questions with a lot of effort. I asked about a particular product and they help point me to the right direction with specifics. Expectations: none really. I guess I expect to see strange new food. I've been to this place a number of times and it's always a trip. I love broadening my food options and this place help's introduce me to new bites! Improvements: some music, and more outgoing staff would be nice. Last words: if you're looking for groceries come here. If you're looking for cool new groceries to explore come here.
