To say the least, the freshest thing I had here was the bottled Asahi. If you're in the area, drive somewhere else. Food tasted all prepackaged or cooked the day prior. Teriyaki chicken was lukewarm and the teriyaki sauce looked and tasted like it came out of a bottle. The spicy salmon California roll had no business asking me for my fishing license. Rice was definitely a few days old. The waitress was hasty even though there was no lunch rush. Pushed me to order without bringing the menu not 2 min prior. She brought the check 5 min after bringing my lunch special. Even had the audacity to notably call out "no tip" as I paid via the hand device. Last night I had one of the best Omakase experiences I've yet to find in Ventura County. My mind is still absolutely blown away that this sushi shot has been right under my nose all of these years. Always trust in your foodie friends when they tell you a place is THE BEST. HERE IS THE PRO TIP: You come here, you meet the lovely chef Choi at the sushi bar and you ask for an omakase dinner. He'll make you dish after dish of the freshest fish you'll ever have until you tell him to stop. My friends note the dishes always change. We ate to our hearts content and also drank a lot of beer :) August 12, 2025 Omakase Dishes Sample Menu: * Tuna Two Ways: Fresh tuna & seared tuna with chili oil and Cajun spices. * Seared Salmon: Lightly seared salmon with an out of this world mayo onion sauce. * Giant Surf Clam: A thin but spice packed bite. The clam was an amazing texture and the fresh wasabi knocked our literal socks off. Topped with a variety of tobiko I adored this dish. * Raw Sweet Shrimp: Please go back to see the presentation on this dish. Insane?!! Buttery and fresh raw shrimp and then the fried heads on the side. * Ebi: A Shrimp and Masago boat with a raw quail egg on top. This dish was delicate in every sense of the word. Encouraged to use our hands vs chopsticks for this dish was a good tip. * Literally this was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time. I love going to this place since there are a lot of options for unique speciality rolls and they are all very good. We had the Mango Salmon which blended salty and sweet perfectly. Home-run which was my personal favorite with the kick of jalapeño. My mother's favorite was the T.T. roll since she loves scallops and they gave us so much! Online order, pickup interaction wasn't pleasant, I'd say rude, but maybe it's just been a day for her. Rolls were child size compared to what I'm use to. Flavor was bland for both the Mexican roll and the Caterpillar. Not sure how the garlic edamame could have been more bland, perhaps the garlic was unavailable.. idk. But, I should have gone with my hungry for sushi gut and drove a few exta miles for quality. First time trying. Picking up a lunch special to eat lunch with my wife. Good service initially, taking my order quickly. But then told 15 to 20 minutes wait...and restaurant was mostly empty and had just opened...price seemed reasonable. But then asked for spicy sauce and was told they charged for it...I didn't ask for extra...just sauce that should be included...so I said never mind...but then told the lady I had given a tip...she then begrudged a single cup of sauce even though I bought 2 lunches. They didn't even include soy sauce or yellow mustard. I'm frankly surprised they included chopsticks and napkins. Our experiences eating the meal, my wife and I found the tiny salad flooded by a watery queasy Asian dressing, a very muscular teriyaki steak, chicken teriyaki was ok, and the miso was ok. The sauce to dip her tempura was overly ginger and the tempura batter was paper thin with little taste and crunch. Not a pleasant experience...glad I never tried before. read more

The sushi rolls are decent for their price point! You can't really complain when you're getting $10-$12 rolls. I will say that they are smaller than a normal $16 roll from other places, so I'm not sure if that makes up for it. The dragon roll and mudslide are by far the best ones; the sauce on the mudslide is really good! The miso soup doesn't have green onion or anything in it, just small pieces of tofu--i didn't even get any seaweed. My only problem is the Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll, it doesn't taste like anything and is super oily, I wouldn't recommend it. The service itself is fast and everyone is very kind, we were told to holler if we needed anything which is sweet. I remember years ago when this location was in Thousand Oaks, and I remember it being better back then. This is by far my favorite place for sushi. All of their ingredients are fresh and taste so delectable. They are quick to seat you and bring out an appetizer of salad. They have a variety menu of very different rolls and the staff are all very nice and kind. If you sit at the bar the chefs will converse with you and check in to make sure you are enjoying your meal. It was one of the better Udons that I've had. My husband had a Bento lunch of Veggie & Shrimp Tempura and Salmon Teriyaki. It included Miso soup (fine), and a small (standard Japanese Bento) salad. He raved about the Tempura, saying it was cooked "perfectly", and it all tasted fresh and delicious.
