The sush herei lives up to the name. It was actually fresh. Usually when I see lemon slices with my sashimi or nigiri, I get a little hesitant because usually people give you lemon to mask the freshness. But no lemon was needed. And I also like how the sashimi is a good size and actually fully covers the rice and more so it's almost like it has a tail. The other places I was looking at didn't even have the sashimi fully cover the rice. And the sashimi here just melted in your mouth. It's almost like the wagu of fish. I'm pretty sure we got the salmon belly. Service wasn't that bad. We were seated right away and checked up regularly. We also ordered the 911, fresh and blue fin tuna roll. I do like how they don't put a ton of rice, so you get full off of the fish and other topings instead of just the rice filling you up. Def worth checking out! read more

We got seated right away on a late Friday night, which was a great start. You can immediately tell this is a family-owned restaurant with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a cozy, nicely decorated interior that makes for a comfortable dining experience. We started off with the Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura and Calamari. The tempura was delicious, lightly battered and crispy without feeling heavy or oily. The lightly sweetened soy sauce that came with it complemented the tempura perfectly. The calamari, however, was a bit too rubbery for my liking and could've used a touch more salt or seasoning. For sushi rolls, we ordered the Seaside Roll, Cherry Roll, Tiger Roll, and Mountain Roll. Our favorite was definitely the Mountain Roll as it was packed with flavor and texture, it stood out among the rest. Service was very quick and efficient, we were seated and finished our meal in about 45 minutes. Overall, a good local spot with friendly service and decent sushi options. read more

Came here on a date. It was a fairly basic place. Nothing detailed wise that was substantial. Service was great tho. The ladies are attentive and friendly. Tamago 5/10: it was was too sweet and tasted like it was made a few days ago. Dense, not fluffy. Seared albacore 7/10: it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad as well. It tasted kinda bland tbh but it was fresh and I always appreciate that. Yellowtail collar 7/10: the fatty pieces were delicious but the rest was a bit dry. Salmon cheek 9/10: we were given this by the chef. This was definitely a highlight. It was delicious. Deep fried soft shell crab 7/10: it was good. Nothing outstanding. They did only give one piece cut up in 4. The sake bombs. So as u know me I enjoy the occasional sake bombs. Here the sake was good, the beers were cold. However it was the deal. I didn't know there was a sake bomb special deal until the bill came and this sold me. It was $10.99 for a large beer and large hot sake. Soo worth it. The food is OK but the service and atmosphere is just weird. If you sit in the front area, you can signal the wait staff when you need them. If they put you behind the sushi bar, the service is horrible. You get the feeling they have regulars as they know how to navigate this place but not being a regular, they claimed a table up front was reserved. The sushi bar has no purpose as usually you can order directly from the chef and maybe have a conversation. Not here, they scold you if you try to hand them the sheet. There is a rather tall "wall" so it is like you are facing a wall as you eat. I have been to many good sushi restaurants, and yes, the service is different than most other restaurants, but here it is consistently not good. read more

I've been here a couple of times and it has been good but recently came here a few weeks ago and let me tell you the sushi quality was great! I never actually ate in the restaurant as I only come here when I'm working so I always get to go. If you ever had sushi to-go...you can always tell (well at least I do) that the rice texture is different and it doesn't always hit the same as it does when you're eating at the restaurant. But one thing for sure is, at Sushi Fresh the sushi to-go or even in house is yummmmm! One roll I highly recommend is the Sexy Roll! We often ask for takeout and the rolls are prepared nicely with sufficient ginger/wasabi/soy sauce. Last night we got the Tiger roll, Sexy Roll, American dream roll + Baked Salmon Roll ! Our favorite of the four was the Sexy roll as we are a big fan of fresh salmon. As for dining in, I enjoy their Japanese bottled beer such as Kirin and that you can order Flavored Soju. Friday night dinner and I had their Sashimi Combo B (my Sashimi standard / go-to, because of its variety) and it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! EVERY slice of Sashimi was delicate, meaty, and simply glorious!! The last time I had Sashimi THIS fresh, THIS good was at Port Hueneme's Sushi Hanada (RIP, Yuki Hanada). Hanada's is a classic case of IYKYK and I feel like I may have found Yuki's replacement; only time (and, return visits) will tell. Zooey's service was fantastic as well. She was fastidious and didn't hover; rather, she monitored my progress, approaching and engaging only when appropriate. Will definitely recommend to and return with Family and Friends. The food is great here! It comes out quickly and tastes fresh. I've tried the traditional rolls and the fun ones and they've all been delicious so far. So far my favorite is the Jessica albacore roll. And it's fun to sit by the bar and watch the sushi chefs create the rolls. The only reason I took a star off is because the two times I've eaten here, I've had mediocre service. The first time we were kind of forgotten about, so we didn't get any drink refills while we dined. The second time our server seemed like she hated working there lol it just made the vibe a little weird but she was attentive otherwise. Overall a solid sushi spot! read more

I've been here in the past and the fish wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. This most recent time, I had sweet shrimp, tuna, yellow tail, crab (wish it was real crab), and salmon sushi for Togo. The 1st sweet shrimp wasn't very fresh and had an after taste. I hoped the second piece would be better, but they were both not very fresh. I then had yellowtail which was fine, but the tuna and the salmon both had that same yucky fishy after taste that feels like someone's sweat was on it. I ordered online and picked up on a Wednesday at 7:30ish. Definitely doesn't seem to live to its name for fresh sushi. Food is great! We have been coming here for years and today was the first time that I have been disappointed with the service we received. Or better, the service we didn't receive... I placed my order over the phone for takeout, but when we arrived (my kids and I) we decided it would actually be nice to dine in instead. So I asked if we could be seated and gave them the name of the order. The server disappeared for a few minutes and someone else returned to tell me that we will have to take the food to go, as it was already being prepared for take out. Before I knew we weren't allowed to stay, I was already getting excited about staying and started looking at the menu to order additional appetizers and maybe even a drink... we were starving!! Instead, Being left by the entrance and being told that we couldn't dine in?! I would have never sent someone away If I was the owner! I get the idea of not wanting to waste the packaging, but that just felt like the rudest ever?! Sorry, but that just ruined it for me overall and I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Wow wow wow I've always seen this place but never tried it out. To be honest the location threw me off and it felt really random amongst the various businesses it was next to. BUT. Big but. Don't let the stop you (like it did for me) because this place... is great. The prices are fair, sushi is not a cheap thing, as much as I want it to be. The quality was great. And the chefs know what they're doing. They didn't drown anything in Mayo, eel sauce, or other extra stuff. You could taste a little of everything with each piece. Oh and if you're up to try a new roll, highly recommend their mango roll. The mango was so refreshing and went nicely with the salmon. The place is open, well lit, and has plenty of seats which is great. So bummed I didn't start supporting this place sooner, but will definitely start doing that now! read more
