    Clam Chowder
    Terrence S.

This place exceeded most of my expectations! Came here with a large group and we had our own isolated room and yet our server was super nice and checked in frequently. The bread and butter that was provided at the beginning could have been a little softer, but as an on the house app, i'll take it. Also had the New England Clam Chowder, and as with most places, this chowder could do with a few more clams. The linguine with clams was solid, very filling, with plenty of clams that tasted fresh and added a lot of flavor to the dish. The Pacific Rockfish took the cake though, perfectly cooked, super fresh, got a nice sear on it without being overcooked. Well done. The other fish on the menu looked very promising and pleased most people in the group. I would love to come again to try the rest of fish!

Service was impeccable from the friendly hostess to the wonderful server. Good was very very tasty. I was bummed when I saw that you couldn't choose any flavor in the fish just grilled with oil period but it was so tasty and flaky. The miso Brussels sprouts were so good I can't stop thinking about them. The parmesan potato cake was glorious. The ambiance was very nice nearly upscale but you still feel ok being in a spring dress or even nicer jeans. I highly recommend

I'm from San Diego, but for the past 9 years, whenever I'm on a California road trip, I've stopped at Lure for Sally's sand dabs. They're always fantastic--melt in your mouth soft, buttery, and and reasonably priced for a sit-down meal. I suggested that my boyfriend consider getting Sally's sand dabs too but he got the Pacific rockfish instead. To be clear, the Pacific rockfish was well prepared and good, but he admitted he also liked the sand dabs more. So, if you're considering it, get the sand dabs! You won't regret it. For sides we had the parmesan potato cake, cilantro corn salad, lure fries, and miso Brussel sprouts ($2 upcharge). The miso Brussel sprouts were the clear standout--the cilantro corn salad was a little bland, but overall fine. You can't go wrong with fries/potatoes. The service was super friendly and accommodating. We sat in a booth but my boyfriend was using a knee scooter since he is injured. To avoid blocking the walkway, Cassidy and Brooke (who was in training and also helping us), put the knee scooter elsewhere and kindly got it for us at the end. It was a great experience overall.

Had a wonderful lunch today at Lure. We sat is the bar area at a nice hightop table. Ory the GM came by and we visited for a while. She is such a positive, friendly and loving person. Brooke was our terrific server and was quite helpful, kind and professional. We ordered drinks and bread to start and our entree order was next with my wife ordering the halibut entree and I had the tequilla lime shrimp pasta. The food was great and Ory and Brooke were phenomenal as these special people make the place that much better. Highly recommended.

Lure fish House is my favorite places to eat at. I have been to many of their locations and Ventura is always going to be my favorite. But I have been to this location many times and I have always enjoyed their food. We had Cassidy as our server this last time and she was so helpful, quick to bring stuff and had good recommendations. Shout out to Cassidy for outstanding service! Our favorites are pop rock shrimp, raw oysters, new favorite is the sliders which Cassidy has recommended. We used go love spicy seafood ceviche and the one with mango until they no longer have this and changed recipe for the spicy seafood ceviche. Nevertheless the food is never a disappointment! Will return soon

One of the best happy hours around especially for seafood lovers. Fantastic food and drink specials. The Lure Martini is the perfect elixir for happiness without the high sugar count. Charbroiled oysters with freshly baked bread is the American equivalent of escargot. Seafood tower is the perfect sampler for two for only $29. Cheers!

Since having a great meal at the Ventura location, other Lure Fish House locations have been on my radar. To our surprise, the weekday earlyish dinner experience here was even BETTER than our great first impression in Ventura. The reason? Our stellar server Dan! Dan is if the soothing vocal affect & detail orientedness of Kelsey Grammer's Frasier Crane, + the compassion of Dr. Phil, + the genuine caring of your bff who really gets you all got infused into the body of a tall, tanned, actor-handsome golfer. We joked that Dan could heal anyone's daddy issues bc he was SO perfectly attentive & thoughtful in his details. From helpfully comprehensive explanations of the best of that day's daily fish, to the bringing us CHILLED spoons to eat some of our to-go blueberry cobbler before the ice cream could melt on the drive home, to bringing us new glasses of club soda mid meal - level thoughtfulness. When they say it's the little things, it really means it's all the little things that add up to a big thing. Green flags like crazy. Yep, that's our Dan! Dan was a totally unexpected surprise, but the comfy booth seating, cool decor & awesome food was not. We have come to expect a level of consistent excellence at Lure. This visit further reinforced this impression. Wild Cod Fish & Chips - likely some of the best - lightest & crispiest - cod we have had - ever, & I'm talking in the world (When we told Dan we'd share that dish, he offered to bring it first, so we could share it as an appetizer. Another green flag!) Sally's Sand Dabs - my 2nd time ordering this bc it's so perfect - pineapple slaw is always great & the garlicky spinach was buttery textured, simple, & fantastic Blue Eyed Trevalla - true to Dan's recommendation, a spectacular fish & cooked perfectly House salad - worth a special mention bc it was surprisingly great w/crispy raw corn kernels & a yum balsamic dressing Blueberry Cobbler a la mode - big enough to enjoy w/the ice cream there & also the rest at home later. Chilled spoons should be served with dessert all the time. Add the super easy parking situation to this great experience, & this was as perfect a dinner experience as you could ever have!

Brook and Johnny went well for us. Their customer service, attention to details and ensuring we have yummy food and libations were a delight. The noises I made while eating was a joy to listen to because that means I'm in heaven!

Came in for Father's Day lunch and walked in without waiting . Our waiter Dan is very thorough explaining the menu and the specials. We ordered the miso cod skewers, clam chowder, blacken sockeye salmon. All very well cooked and delicious.

We usually expect a top-tier experience when we come here, but unfortunately, this recent dinner visit fell short. We sat down at the oyster bar and noticed a guy working behind the counter who walked past us quite a few times without acknowledging us. My date eventually had to call him over just to ask for menus, water, and silverware, which a waiter finally brought over for us. Looking around, we noticed a lot of new faces, especially behind the grill, which might explain some of the hiccups. For our meal, we ordered the clam chowder and the crab cakes. The chowder was incredibly thick and the flavor was completely different than usual--it just wasn't enjoyable. My date wasn't happy with it either. To the restaurant's credit, our waiter was nice enough to take the chowder off our bill, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the crab cakes didn't fare much better. They tasted very fishy and the flavor was just completely off. This was the first bad experience we've ever had here, so it really stood out compared to what we are used to. We love this place, so we are hoping this was just a temporary setback with a new crew. We will likely try it again in the future and hope it regains its usual excellence!

The best lure fish of all time. Everyone is super friendly, food is so good, parking everywhere. Tried sitting at their oyster bar and felt like a fish out of water, but it was a fun time. Had the 3 for $9 oysters, (grassy bar, wildcat, and lava) all were really good though very distinct. I think grassy bar was the favorite of the group. Clams were so delicious, the garlic bread paired with it was perfect. Tacos were fresh and just perfectly cooked. Clam chowder was an unfortunate meh. Nothing negative but nothing crazy. But out of the 4 lure house locations I've been to, this one is my absolute favorite.

We had a very lovely lunch here for my sister's birthday. They sat us at the indoor patio which was nice. It did get a little warm at times, but then there were breezes and they had fans that kept us cool. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The food was good. It tasted fresh and everything came out HOT! The food did lack some seasoning for us. But it was by no means bad. Our faves were the fish and chips, and pasta. They brought my sister a little sundae for her birthday. All in all it was a nice afternoon there.

We chose Lure Fish House to have a family celebration; not a first visit for my wife and me but a first time which included our 4yr old. One of the reason we chose Lure is their extensive kid menu. For little one we ordered her the sliders (small burger) and fries which she enjoyed. We asked the server to bring our little one's meal as soon as possible and it arrived a few min before the appetizers ( really fast). We were given plenty of time to enjoy our appetizers of crab cakes, popcorn shrimp and shrimp cocktail before our entrees arrived. My wife loves shrimp and loved especially the shrimp cocktail for its freshness and the shrimp popcorn for its crunch and texture. The crab cakes for me were the best, lots of meat with not too much filler, delicious! I ordered the fried Cod with the fried shrimp and a side of slaw and cauliflower pesto. Wow what a delicious filling meal! The beer batter for the fish and the shrimp was amazing! As Crispy and crunchy as I was hoping while not tasting or having an oily residue. The slaw had a hint of pineapple and the cauliflower pesto was (to me) an inspired combination. My wife had the hanger streak and enjoyed every bite...even commenting about the deliciousness of the meal days later. Lastly, the service Jaime, our server, provided was very good, she had a patient rapport with our 4yr old and was attentive to our table without being pushy or aggressive....she was busy and yet managed to make us feel cared for. As a family we had a great experience and won't hesitate to come back or recommend the restaurant to our friends and family.

Do you have a Happy Hour? What days and times? Thank you,…

Yes, Lure does have a happy hour. M-Th 4-6 for sure. I'm not certain about Friday since it's more busy that day.

    Do you allow corkage?

Yes they do have a corkage fee and it's very reasonable it's $20 they currently do not have a happy hour because of Covid but I highly recommend to save room for the desserts

At this time they have not brought back their happy hour.

Is there a Happy Hour now? And if yes, what time does it start?

I don't believe they've brought their Happy Hours back. Rum Fish in downtown Ventura has a FANTASTIC Happy Hour w/ solid service, great drink and food options. We love love love the Camarillo Lure location for both lunch & dinner. 😁

Are there any vegan options here for dinner?

Hi Unfortunately very few, their artichoke appetiser and salads, as well as rice bowl and plain pasta . I think that pretty much sums it up. I hope that helps.

He was in a lengthy, loud conversation with 1 lady sitting at the bar. There was one other man eating, at the table next to us, he was an employee. I had to go up to the bar and mentioned to him it was our first time here. He didn't seem to volunteer, any information on how to order, until I asked him. Then he just said there is a number on the table to order. I asked if he had a menu, he seemed bothered that I asked for a menu. He mentioned I could order from the hostess, so I did. She was very nice and polite and took our order. While waiting for the pizza, trying to get the napkin dispenser on the table to work. They were not even popping up to use. Bar tender ignored the tapping the dispenser on the table. So I switched one dispenser from another table to ours. He never said a word when I tried to get the napkins to pop up. The bartender looked and took the faulty ones and placed them on the bar counter, and never tended to the problem. He didn't even say anything, not a sorry about that, He just continued talking to the lady. Pizza was delivered and we had a few slices left. I just went to the hostess and asked her for a box. She was very fast and we thanked her on our way out. He did not do anything behind the bar, other than talk to the lady. Then he served her a drink, and then waved his hand over the screen, it appeared he didn't charge her for the drink, He did not type in anything. Then a man walked in and sat at the bar, he ordered a beer. Then suddenly bar tender, has lots of work to do, moving around the bar like he is supposed to. It was like someone knows somebody in the business. He was slacking and ignoring us, he never asked, is everything okay or if we needed a pizza box to go, I was already asking the hostess for a box. Probably because I got my own napkins, because I didn't want to interrupt him talking to the lady. We will not be going back to the 999 pizza Tiki bar. I am giving 1 star for the bar service. 5 Stars to the hostess.
