Was in the area and decided to go check out lunch at Lure and I'm so glad we did. Although the restaurant offers outdoor dining, it was a bit toasty so we elected to eat indoors. The interior dining area is large and open. As more folks came in, the noise level rose. Something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quiet place to eat. I chose the grilled rockfish filet which was served with miso glazed Brussels (delicious) and cilantro corn salad. Food was excellent! The bread was typical white rolls, admittedly as a baker, they were alright although nothing out of the ordinary. Service was attentive and prompt. Was pleasantly surprised and would return. Employees are disrespectful, rude, and need anger management training to name a few. My parents are very old. They are hard of hearing. Server came to drop off an order of clam chowder. She asked whose it was. My parents were slow to respond. She had little patience and set it down hard on the table where you hear the dish clattering. If it wasn't a thick soup it would've splattered on the table. Our food arrived and plate setting still haven't. So we sat there staring at our food with no utensils to eat it with. Server gave us the wrong check. I always have confidence they get it right so I paid it using my phone. After I paid it I realized they made me pay for someone else's bill. So I let the waitress know and all the sudden her manager comes to me upset like I'm the one who made the mistake. So they shrug it off and just said it's ok we transferred your payment to your real bill. I'm like well can you show me what the real bill looks like???? They just wanted me to trust them again? Seriously. So they show me the bill and they had the audacity to apply the tip I had originally given on a larger bill to this smaller one. Really???? You guys think you can decide the tip? You think you still deserve tip? After being rude to my parents. After making all these mistakes. Really? Then I told the manager you guys are the ones that made the mistake. I should also be shown my actual bill and what I was charged considering you made the mistake. And you're going to come at me with all this anger??? Had an amazing lunch at Lure in Camarillo. Jonathan was our stellar server. Jonathan was professional, attentive, efficient and kind. We started with drinks. My wife had a small salad and her favorite virgin mojito and I had an Arnold Palmer. Jonathan also brought out some fresh baked bread. For our entrees my wife ordered the halibut entree with spinach and corn and I ordered the lobster ravioli. The lovely Ana brought out our food and was professional, kind and friendly. The ambiance is always positive and the place was definetly hopping. This place exceeded most of my expectations! Came here with a large group and we had our own isolated room and yet our server was super nice and checked in frequently. The bread and butter that was provided at the beginning could have been a little softer, but as an on the house app, i'll take it. Also had the New England Clam Chowder, and as with most places, this chowder could do with a few more clams. The linguine with clams was solid, very filling, with plenty of clams that tasted fresh and added a lot of flavor to the dish. The Pacific Rockfish took the cake though, perfectly cooked, super fresh, got a nice sear on it without being overcooked. Well done. I was bummed when I saw that you couldn't choose any flavor in the fish just grilled with oil period but it was so tasty and flaky. I'm from San Diego, but for the past 9 years, whenever I'm on a California road trip, I've stopped at Lure for Sally's sand dabs. They're always fantastic--melt in your mouth soft, buttery, and and reasonably priced for a sit-down meal. I suggested that my boyfriend consider getting Sally's sand dabs too but he got the Pacific rockfish instead. To be clear, the Pacific rockfish was well prepared and good, but he admitted he also liked the sand dabs more. So, if you're considering it, get the sand dabs! You won't regret it. For sides we had the parmesan potato cake, cilantro corn salad, lure fries, and miso Brussel sprouts ($2 upcharge). The miso Brussel sprouts were the clear standout--the cilantro corn salad was a little bland, but overall fine. You can't go wrong with fries/potatoes. The service was super friendly and accommodating. We sat in a booth but my boyfriend was using a knee scooter since he is injured. To avoid blocking the walkway, Cassidy and Brooke (who was in training and also helping us), put the knee scooter elsewhere and kindly got it for us at the end. Genuinely, one of my favorite restaurants ever. If you're a lover of seafood, I would 100% recommend that you come here. The complimentary sourdough bread and butter are something I dream of. But I have been to this location many times and I have always enjoyed their food. We had Cassidy as our server this last time and she was so helpful, quick to bring stuff and had good recommendations. Shout out to Cassidy for outstanding service! Our favorites are pop rock shrimp, raw oysters, new favorite is the sliders which Cassidy has recommended. I've always told people Lure Fish House is my favorite seafood restaurant, and since I was in the area for a work trip, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get dinner here. I stuck to my old favorites, the clam chowder that is a perfect match for the complimentary sourdough bread. The chowder is hearty and I was almost too full to have the tequila lime shrimp pasta for my main entree, topped with a piece of toast covered in red chili peppers. The waitress was amazing, and although their QR code to pay didn't work, she was ready for me with her card reader. To our surprise, the weekday earlyish dinner experience here was even BETTER than our great first impression in Ventura. The reason? Our stellar server Dan! Dan is if the soothing vocal affect & detail orientedness of Kelsey Grammer's Frasier Crane, + the compassion of Dr. Phil, + the genuine caring of your bff who really gets you all got infused into the body of a tall, tanned, actor-handsome golfer. We joked that Dan could heal anyone's daddy issues bc he was SO perfectly attentive & thoughtful in his details. From helpfully comprehensive explanations of the best of that day's daily fish, to the bringing us CHILLED spoons to eat some of our to-go blueberry cobbler before the ice cream could melt on the drive home, to bringing us new glasses of club soda mid meal - level thoughtfulness. When they say it's the little things, it really means it's all the little things that add up to a big thing. Green flags like crazy. Yep, that's our Dan! The best lure fish of all time. Everyone is super friendly, food is so good, parking everywhere. Tried sitting at their oyster bar and felt like a fish out of water, but it was a fun time. Had the 3 for $9 oysters, (grassy bar, wildcat, and lava) all were really good though very distinct. I think grassy bar was the favorite of the group. It did get a little warm at times, but then there were breezes and they had fans that kept us cool. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The food was good. We usually expect a top-tier experience when we come here, but unfortunately, this recent dinner visit fell short. We sat down at the oyster bar and noticed a guy working behind the counter who walked past us quite a few times without acknowledging us. My date eventually had to call him over just to ask for menus, water, and silverware, which a waiter finally brought over for us. Looking around, we noticed a lot of new faces, especially behind the grill, which might explain some of the hiccups. For our meal, we ordered the clam chowder and the crab cakes. The chowder was incredibly thick and the flavor was completely different than usual--it just wasn't enjoyable. My date wasn't happy with it either. To the restaurant's credit, our waiter was nice enough to take the chowder off our bill, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the crab cakes didn't fare much better. They tasted very fishy and the flavor was just completely off. This was the first bad experience we've ever had here, so it really stood out compared to what we are used to. We love this place, so we are hoping this was just a temporary setback with a new crew. We will likely try it again in the future and hope it regains its usual excellence! read more

We chose Lure Fish House to have a family celebration; not a first visit for my wife and me but a first time which included our 4yr old. One of the reason we chose Lure is their extensive kid menu. For little one we ordered her the sliders (small burger) and fries which she enjoyed. We asked the server to bring our little one's meal as soon as possible and it arrived a few min before the appetizers ( really fast). We were given plenty of time to enjoy our appetizers of crab cakes, popcorn shrimp and shrimp cocktail before our entrees arrived. My wife loves shrimp and loved especially the shrimp cocktail for its freshness and the shrimp popcorn for its crunch and texture. The crab cakes for me were the best, lots of meat with not too much filler, delicious! I ordered the fried Cod with the fried shrimp and a side of slaw and cauliflower pesto. Wow what a delicious filling meal! The beer batter for the fish and the shrimp was amazing! As Crispy and crunchy as I was hoping while not tasting or having an oily residue. The slaw had a hint of pineapple and the cauliflower pesto was (to me) an inspired combination. My wife had the hanger streak and enjoyed every bite...even commenting about the deliciousness of the meal days later. Lastly, the service Jaime, our server, provided was very good, she had a patient rapport with our 4yr old and was attentive to our table without being pushy or aggressive....she was busy and yet managed to make us feel cared for. My daughter and her boyfriend went to Lure in Camarillo on Saturday, August 22. They each had a Bloody Mary, oysters on the half shell, crab salad and sand dabs. While it seemed fine at the time, my daughter came home and got sick immediately. She threw up and had diarrhea that day and the next 4 days. Her boyfriend didn't get sick until the next day and he seemed to be a day behind in symptoms. They also both complained they had migraines. I tested her for Covid and when that came back clear, it was obvious this was a case of food poisoning. While the restaurant did reimburse their bill, the toll it took on them and missed school and work cost them more than the price of a meal. They will never go there again. New Years Eve family dinner -- such a beautiful experience! -We took the kids to Lure for our NYE family dinner and are so glad we did! We arrived right before 5pm, beat the wait, and were seated instantly in the bar area (first come, first serve -- which worked out perfectly). We chose Lure because we love the ambiance -- it's always spotless, the service is consistently great, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the food quality never disappoints. We enjoyed strawberry basil elixirs, bacon biscuits with goat cheese, hanger steak with cilantro chimichurri sauce, brussels sprouts (so rich in flavor!), oysters, a Caesar salad, and the maple-glazed salmon plate. Everything was absolutely delicious and so well prepared. Even though it was understandably busy for NYE, our server Karla was amazing -- attentive, kind, and on top of everything, along with the hostess and bussers. Everyone left with full tummies, lots of laughs, and big smiles. Went on Saturday around noon as a party of 5 and was able to be seated right away. Our waitresses were attentive throughout our meal I got the crispy fish sandwich with sweet potato fries (you can choose one side). The fish was 2 of their fried ling cod pieces, which is what you get from their fish and chips. I would have preferred one filet as it would've been easier to eat and not as thick of a sandwich. On top is white cheddar cheese, a pineapple slaw and tartar sauce. The cheddar cheese wasn't too strong, the pineapple slaw was good and the pineapple added a nice sweet balance and the tartar sauce wasn't too strong or much either. The bread was a very soft and buttery brioche. It was a heavy sandwich overall so by the end, I just took off some of the bread. The sweet potato fries were perfectly sweet, crispy and soft and well salted! I'm glad I got to try this place and it looks like there are a lot of other good options too! read more

This was our 1st time trying the Lure in Camarillo. While the restaurant and service was nice, their preparation of the Rockfish left a lot to be desired. My family and I have visited the Lure Fish House restaurant in Ventura, but we hadn't been to this location before. They don't take reservations for small parties, but we didn't have a problem getting a table even during a busy day for them. We were promptly seated, and our waitress came over and gave us menus, my kids a small toy, water, and complimentary bread. We love the bread; it's always warm and delicious. Once we were ready, we placed our orders. I love their Lure Cioppino and a red wine sangria. My Cioppino was a very generous portion with fire-roasted tomato broth, fish, clams, mussels, scallops, and Mexican shrimp. I enjoyed my meal so much. I'm glad they don't skim on the seafood; I was even able to share a bit with my kids. My sangria was also very tasty. My husband loved his rockfish and sides! I tasted some of it, and it was so good. My kids also liked their kids' meals. The service was excellent! Our waitress lets us know that they are better than the Ventura location, of course, haha! I ordered the Anacapa tower and a Baja fish taco. The fish taco was solid, not too different from a fish taco you could get elsewhere but a solid choice I would happily get again. The tower came with a few different items. The oysters I opted to order 1 of each option, of those the Volcano Bay and Grassy Bar were the standouts. The shrimp cocktail, I love that the cocktail sauce was seemingly made in house, unfortunately the shrimp was too overcooked and very watery, covered with horseradish and cocktail sauce they were passable but I wouldn't order those again. The shrimp ceviche was very clean and light and overall very tasty! It did lack some salt but was perfect with some hot sauce added. Lastly was the tuna ponzu which was a tad heavier than the ceviche but still a light bite, this was a bit too overpowering on its own but paired with the accompanying chips it made a truly perfect bite! What a great to end 2025 with a trip to Lure! We started out with the Grilled oysters and we could have several healing of those and the. Real would have been PERFECTO! I went away from my tried and true Cioppino and had Fish & chips! Exquisite to say the least! Juicy, fluffy and not greasy at all! The blueberry crumble pie again blew us away! We came back on 1/1/26 for two more pieces! Service by Dan was excellent and I even called the manager over to say how much we were enjoying our meal and the service! I came back the manager Ori hooked us up with a free piece of pie! Do t be afraid to tell a manager people are doing a wonderful job. They love that feedback!
