First time visit to Yonutz and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Yonutz is located on Durango just north of the 215 on the west side of Durango north of sunset. Plenty of parking in the lot and I'm assuming well lit as well. You can't miss the Kia decorated with Yonutz wrap out front. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by the owner who was perhaps the friendliest owner of a place I've ever been to. Super friendly and full of personality, great guy and great first impression. We ordered up a smashed strawberry shortcake and a smashed cookies and cream. Both were bursting with flavor and were absolutely delicious. The donut was soft and delicate and the ice cream was delicious. The interior of Yonutz is colorful and vibrant and feels like a place you'd have fun. The counter employees were absolutely marvelous and full of energy. Overall, it was a great experience all the way around. Every now and then I'll crave something sweet and then she so happen to be nearby so I decided to give it a try. I've always seen this place coming to IKEA but never really looked into it until today. Upon walking in your greeted with a little chant welcoming you in. It was pretty busy, there were about three people in front of us in line and two people walked in there after. I can see why I can get busy as they have some pretty good options for desserts. I think they are known for their milkshakes that come with a mini donut attached to the straw, but I didn't have that. I just wanted to try their donuts. I personally got the traditional chocolate donuts in my father got the caramel Oreo cheesecake doughnut. I was very happy with my donut option - it was probably one of the softest donuts that I have ever had. It was good and not too sweet, which made me very happy. The service is definitely there and the girls working there are very engaged with everyone walking in. What is a little strange to me is that they do sell their mini donuts at 4 for $6 but a large classic doughnut is $2 and a craft donut is $4. Four of their mini donuts is probably equivalent to one regular size one so the pricing is a little weird for the minis. The inside of the shop is clean and well kept, has great wall art, and some seating for those that want to eat there. If you're craving a doughnut, I think this is a pretty reasonable place as it's also open later than most traditional donut shops. Talk about personality to match the name. It was not only the name but the concept of ice cream inside donut. I never really heard of before. I was excited to check off another bookmark on my list. Yo Yo!! Love the welcome we got. The place looked absolutely clean to my eyes! I so wanted to try out their smashed donuts, honestly what a unique concept!!! Warm, soft yet creamy cold ice cream with a good selection of flavours. I especially loved the crunchy biscoff smashed donut! It could have been better without a lot of crunch on top, gets messy!! I would definitely go back and try the other flavours, they also have donut milkshakes and regular donuts! When you pick up your order, they announce on the microphone about their policy on taking a bit off the donut with bare hands which is fun little activity!!! We came here shortly before closing as we were driving by and saw it. It looked delicious! We walked in and were met with a bright neon store that smelled sweet. The overall look is very fun and really cool to look at. Although it was closing time all the girls were quick to drop what they were doing and greet us. The girl behind the counter was really nice and offered suggestions and gave us time to look over the menu. The smashed donut was really good! It's the strawberry short cake and it tastes exactly like it! The donut was a bit chewy but that's to be expected with putting the donut in a waffle press. The first visit was great, .my son loved his birthday cake ice cream donut and the worker had him take his first bite upon getting his order. The second visit didn't go well. We arrived at 5:45pm with a couple of my son teammates and the place was closed because they ran out of a certain product. Workers were still in the shop probably cleaning and one said they're closed. The concept of this place is warm donuts wrapped around a cold scoop of ice cream and sprinkled with toppings. There's a big selection of donuts and ice cream flavors to choose from. My only negative is that the donut (ordered the Nutella ice cream sandwich) was a little bit on the not so fresh side and it was NOT warm. As you walk in they yell out Yoooooo lol - it's a restaurant with about three tables but everyone was super friendly. Popped in to try some minis and glad I did cause they were so delicious. The menu has a lot to offer from donuts to milk shakes and their famous smash donuts. My daughter ordered 4 mini donuts - 2 strawberry sprinkles, samoa and chocolate m&m's. They were so cute! We also ordered a simply smashed donut with strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It comes with your choice of ice cream in the middle with the donut rolled in cinnamon. They're running a special, 2 for $10 or 1 for $6. Bring a friend and try these, they are AMAZING! Your name will be called on the loudspeaker. At Yonutz, they want you to take your first bite right there. That warm donut with the cold ice cream is a great contrast. The shop is brightly lit and colorful, with a few tables and chairs if you'd like to indulge there. They have both an assortment of regular donuts as well as their signature smashed donuts- a donut of your choice, cut in half, ice cream in the middle, and then smashed in a hot griddle. The donuts are fresh and tasty, and if you get a smashed donut, the servers will tell you (on the microphone) that you have to take the first bite by picking it up (rather than using utensils). So a donut with a small bit of ice cream is $6 and if you want toppings, that's $8 and a milkshake with a mini donut is $9. A repeat champion on Dessert Wars it seems only natural that Yonutz is now expanding via franchises, a location on South Durango joining the rapidly expanding corridor now home to UnCommons, Durango Casino and eventually The Bend. Big on branding, so much so that they are "home to" influencers per the website, Yonutz's claim to fame is a "SMASHED" Donut seen at Afters since 2014, though here the Donuts baked twice-daily are uniquely topped or filled with more choices than the competition. Roughly $3 per Donut without Ice Cream, seemingly a bargain compared to the likes of Wicked, St. Honore or Gabi, where Yonutz falls short is actually the products themselves as Donuts are on par with Dunkin thanks to a flavorless base that is dense yet slightly dry. Opened November 11th, the owner still on-site offering free bites to guests in early January, roughly half the "Giant" Donuts come simply glazed while others arrive with minimal filling, "Apple Pie" and Nutella barely perceptible while Dulce De Leche, Samoa and Salted Caramel Biscoff aren't really "giant" but overloaded enough to make up for the unremarkable Dough and good enough to warrant a return for some Ice Cream. read more

Such a welcoming ambiance when you walk in and I was lucky to be greeted by the manager himself tonight! I got a traditional sugar donut with vanilla ice cream.
