I haven't been to the original location in LA yet, so this was my first time trying Randy's Donuts, and it overall was good. I like the giant logo donut and all the donut offerings they have at a reasonable price. They have a drive thru or walk in (but there is no seating inside or outside which was kinda a bummer even though the inside is kinda big). I tried the Matcha Donut and my husband tried the bacon maple. Both were delicious and packed full of flavor. The worker was very nice in helping us and making recommendations. Randy's is trying a bunch of new drinks. I'm thinking I'll stick with the donuts. What was supposed to be a strawberry milk tea boba was a milk tea boba with strawberry syrup on the bottom. There was a blended option but it had more calories which I can only assume means there's an additive used to assist with the blending, so I decided to go just over ice. It doesn't work, the boba and syrup are at the bottom so it's not mixed well. The milk tea itself tasted fine, but can't really tell you how it tastes all together as I was given the thinnest straw imaginable to drink my boba. I'm home after having poured it all into my own glass and as I don't have an extra boba straw lying around I'm drinking this boba piecemeal. Not sure if this was just a service gaffe not providing the right straw, but after waiting in the drivethru for a few minutes (I was the only in the drivethru), I have my guesses. If you go, park and go in and see everything they have to offer. I will keep going for donuts though.. they are good albeit a bit pricey. read more

I had such a disappointing experience that I actually re-downloaded the Yelp app just to leave this review. This was my second attempt at using the drive-thru. The first time, it was out of service. Today it was finally open, but unfortunately, the customer service was worse than the inconvenience. I started by ordering a pink donut with sprinkles and was told it was sold out. Since the menu screen hadn't been updated to reflect what was actually available, I asked what donuts they still had and she had let me know so I got the one that they had. I asked for a chocolate raised and was told they were out. I asked what did they have and she said the chocolate cake one. I ordered that. Then I wanted to change my first order to a regular vanilla donut and was told there wasn't any. So changed it to a vanilla cake. So I asked--again--what was still available. This time, I was given a short list of regular donuts, but no real guidance on the rest of the inventory. Customers shouldn't have to play a guessing game because the menu is inaccurate. If the screen isn't updated, the least an employee can do is answer a simple question about what's available. When I pulled up to the window, the employee greeted me with what felt like an annoyed glare. If I seemed hesitant while ordering, it was only because I was trying to order from a menu that didn't match the actual inventory. Rather than offering any assistance, she came across as rude and completely uninterested in helping. To top it off, when she handed me my change, she didn't say a word. No "thank you," no acknowledgment of the outdated menu, and certainly no attempt to provide decent customer service. I understand that updating the menu may not be her responsibility, but treating customers with courtesy absolutely is. Everyone can have a bad day, but that's not an excuse for being dismissive and unhelpful. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserved one. I haven't been to the original location in LA as of yet, so this was my first ever experience trying Randy's Donuts, and I can now say I'm a fan! I kept it simple and tried the Donut Rounds (basically doughnut holes), and they were decent; not overly oily, and not too sweet. I stopped by during the evening, and the employees were so kind, and really friendly too. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other doughnuts. Once a month I like to treat myself to these delectable sweet treats. I recommend going anytime before 11am, so you can get the best overall selection of donuts because a lot of them do sell out fast. This location has a drive-thru which is very convenient, but I usually order them online so I can see which donuts are available at that time. The donuts are truly some of the best. Like traditional old school donuts and some fancy ones too. I prefer the chocolate chip cake and the hubs loves the cream filled long John. The staff is truly unfriendly and just rude. They act totally putout and when they speak you can't hear them. You thank them and they stare at you. You walk in and then continue cleaning. I love the convenience of a drive thru! I ordered a dozen donuts, a maple cream coffee, and an orange creamsicle lemonade. It came out to about $33. I got 4 chocolate frosted with sprinkles (for my kid), 2 matcha, 2 long johns, 1 Nutella, 1 maple bar, 1 maple bacon bar, and a cinnamon roll. The cake donuts from the first tier were exactly as described, basically cake in the shape of a donut - not my favorites but the menu literally state's their cake so I can't be mad. The cinnamon roll didn't look like it would have been but it was sooooooo soft! Probably my favorite one. The bacon on the maple bacon bar was still crunchy and not at all stale like other places. The maple cream coffee has that nitro-brew taste & the orange creamsicle lemonade was refreshing & perfect. My first time having the iconic California Randy's donuts. I really like that they have a drive thru because their lattes, cappuccinos, and other drinks are right up there with Starbucks and Dutch Bros. I got a Butter Crumb Latte because at a quick glance it seemed to be the lower calorie of the flavored lattes. It was really good and made to order in an espresso machine, not by an automated machine. The interior decor is cute and I enjoyed looking at the photos where Randy's donuts was part of movies and tv shows. They have a wall for Randy's donuts. Great photo op for those special donut days. I got a coconut donut, apple fritter, and a bear claw. I'll start with the bear claw since this was not my favorite. The flavor was there and the donut fluffy and glazed but the filling was apple cinnamon. I have never had a bear claw with apple cinnamon. In my experience, they're always like an almond paste. So I was a little disappointed because it had kind of the same flavor as the apple fritter. The apple fritter was delicious nice flavorful pieces of apple with crispy bits on the side and then fluffy doughnut. It was great. I love the amount of coconut on the coconut donut and I was amazed at how big the donut was. All of my donuts were very tasty. I will be back for some of the more fun flavors. Also I noticed the box prices which seemed pretty good for me to bring into the office for a sweet treat every now and then. Service was great.
