He was very patient as we pondered the unfamiliar menu. We ordered the Nanning Noodle Soup, which had rice noodles in a slightly spicy tomato broth. It wasn't too spicy for my mom. The rice noodles seemed a little overdone, but we enjoyed the pork, broth, and herbs. We were quite full afterwards. The inside of the restaurant was warm and lacked air conditioning, so we sat outside. We grabbed some of the last shaded seats. There was a nice breeze, so it was a pleasant dining experience. Because the drink I originally ordered ran out, the staff person kindly gave me an extra Hokkaido Milk Tea for my mom. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too sweet. In this place, they put the dumpling deep fry, and it doesn't come out crispy, it comes out soft. If you go here, only order their cold noodles. Crazy lunch deal alert! Parking in an apartment complex, kind of limited spots but typically if you are here to eat then parking will be okay. Still a casual spot and pretty empty during weekday lunch, they put the fifa games on the TV and they've moved from takeout containers to actual dishware. There is a small charge for credit card. The 13.99 comes with a drink cucumber salad rice and dish, and is a ginormous portion. The lunch special moved from their classic popular noodles to more Taiwanese stir fry dishes. They were out of the basil pork. I got the kung pao chicken which was more of a wetter stir fry with a slightly tangy sauce and peanuts, not too spicy, had plenty peanuts, not oily. The cucumber salad was unique in its homemade tasting chili oil and the cucumbers were really crunchy. The thai tea was okay, kind of just a mix. Fast service, though sometimes limited staff so try to get everything you need takeout container wise in one go. Especially in the places in New York, these noodles are always separated and completely covered in sauce. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. I've been to this restaurant twice now. It is located in the Watermarke condos subdivision so there is plenty of parking. They do not require tipping and you get a discount if you pay by cash as there is a 2.3% fee for credit cards. I ordered the Guilin noodles the first time and Saozi soup noodles the second time. Both came in the take out container regardless if you order take out or not. It's the paper bowl with the wax interior. The Guilin noodles were way too salty and some of the peanuts were black and moldy looking. I unfortunately didn't see that until I got home. The Saozi noodles were not as salty. The meat had a lot of fat on it and couldn't really find the potatoes. Flavor was better than the Guilin noodles in my opinion. You need to bus your own tables and get your own silverware as well. I waited 30 minutes for one order of the beef roll pancakes. There was nobody who ordered before me and the restaurant was empty so I assumed it would be fast. If I knew I would be waiting HALF AN HOUR FOR AN APPETIZER I would not have gone. I have dined in here and have gotten the noodles to go, and every single time I have, the food is beyond excellent. The noodles are soft, but chewy, like the noodles are handmade, and the accompanying soups and/or sauces really stick to the noodles. their "spicy" is actually more for flavour and accentuates the taste. unfortunately, they add cilantro to certain noodles, and i have the misfortune of having the "cilantro tastes like soap" gene. luckily, the staff is great about removing cilantro from dishes if you're not a fan! be aware though, and i see a lot of reviewers have said this, the portion sizes are huge, and often times i find myself splitting a bowl with a family member. while there isn't a whole lot of room inside the store itself to sit in, and some of the tables are a bit wobbly, it sort of has an ambiance like i'm back in singapore or taiwan in a food court eating a hearty and warm meal. read more
