Definitely coming back for the ban chan/sides! Located in the Gen and 7 Leaves plaza. It's a smaller restaurant and was getting busy around noon/lunch time. Their sides are definitely the highlight because they're so unique from the typical ones you see, but also soo good with free refills. I got the LA galbi combo which came with a small tofu soup. I liked how they have a small and regular option for their combos. The small was $28.99 and the large was $34.99. The tofu soup and galbi tasted a little different but still good! Our server was very welcoming and friendly. Overall great experience!

I'm not exaggerating when I say everything was soooo tasty I wanted to lick the little plates cuz they were all delicious and beautiful First time coming and I must say I was pleasantly surprised of the 2 appetizers of salad and small teaser of mushroom soup which was OMG amazing. The side dishes were all beautiful and I can tell they put attention to visual presentation!!! Service was great and I felt this place treats the customers in a very CLASSY way, I felt like a King. Thank you to both the gentleman and the young gal for their great service. I'm excited to return with new friends.

An amazing addition to Tustin! If you recognize John (the owner) from All That Shabu in Irvine, you already know the level of incredible service to expect at his new spot, 9 Dish Tofu House (which he opened for his wife!). We stopped by close to closing on a Friday, received a warm welcome, and had a fantastic meal. We ordered: 01. Soy Bulgogi ($27.99) - 5 Stars - Thinly sliced, incredibly tender, and perfectly balanced. Better than BCD or Kaju! 02. Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef ($18.99) - 4 Stars - Fresh, steaming hot, and flavorful without being overly salty or too spicy. 03. Complimentary Banchan - 5 Stars - A unique, refreshing variety. The quail eggs, scallion pancake, and light citrus salad were excellent, but the mushroom soup stole the show. The servers were amazing and kept refills coming automatically. PARKING - Lots of parking in the plaza so don't worry. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Stellar service, consistent to what you can expect if John is running the show. His amazing personal touch is unmatched. John and his servers were so attentive and super NICE. FOODS - Incredible food, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. VERDICT - Highly recommend! Go see John...if you are craving Soft Tofu Soups but hate the BCD Tofu wait, you won't be disappointed. Thanks John - So happy we stopped by and saw you. We'll be back soon to visit. Best of luck on your new restaurant, may 9 Dish Tofu House be as successful as All That Shabu. See you soon.

Service 5/5 From one of the older men was stellar. He made faces with my baby when she was being fussy lol he also checked up on us to make sure we liked the food Plain tofu soup 5/5 Comforting! It has flavor despite being "plain". I had to get plain because my recent wisdom teeth surgery, and this totally fit the bill. I added chewy noodles and they didn't remain chewy, but was quite satisfying. Regular tofu soup 4/5 Bae said he enjoyed it ! Atka mackerel 4/5 it didn't flake as easy, but is fine if you're craving fish! Huge portion Banchan 4/5 Quite varied! Didn't try too much cuz had to avoid pickle /spicy, but for them to have a mini portion of dukbokee is nice. The free cream of mushroom soup has lots of flavor! They were playing lots of older kpop in the background which was nice. Space is quite clean and they accept Amex.

Someone recommended this place and I didn't understand the hype. I get it now. Nine dishes are for the banchan it comes with. It was pretty dang delicious. The variety of banchan was excellent and I loved that each person has their individual portion. Would be really great if introducing someone new to Korean food. The soon tofu was also yummy. Decided to get dumpling white which was still yummy and had flavor. Would skip on the bulgogi next time. It was chewy, tough and not that great to be honest. I also wish they gave more soup! Service is really great and they're super kind. The ambiance inside is also really nice.

Come support small businesses!! Although fairly new but this place is absolutely awesome! Came here for dinner with a couple of friends and truly enjoyed the freshness and flavors of their dishes. Had the Yellow Croaker combo which came with a small tofu soup of your choice and your own banchans; yes, I said it, everyone get their own set of banchans - no hogging needed! Since their banchans are made fresh each day, the selections are rotated which definitely promote freshness in all of their dishes. Pre-meal you are served a mini cream of mushroom (yum!) and a mini salad; then came the main dishes. My croaker was fresh, crispy outside and juicy inside and my tofu soup was so flavorful! Staffs and services were friendly and fast. Restaurant is small and can get busy quick so plan accordingly. If you're coming with a large party, be prepare to wait but it is definitely worth it! Looking forward to coming here to try their other dishes. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 Price: 5/5

    Starter salad & mushroom soup

Super delicious! My boyfriend and I were actually attracted by the presentation of all of the food that I saw on Yelp. The actual inside is smaller than I thought, but it filled up quickly after we got there right after opening. We were greeted immediately & sat down with menus (must be pricy with the ink!). After ordering two combo sets, one hot stone bibimbap & galbi with original medium beef soups, we got two appetizers of a salad and mushroom soup. I loved the soup! It was quite yummy and salad was a good starter. I imagine they could even sell the soup on the side for kids. It's rare that a restaurant gives out free starters these days. The main dishes were amazing! Love the presentation, it was sleek and organized and just the right size. Having a variety of side dishes will always be a plus for Korean restaurants. It did take just a bit of time, but that's expected for a restaurant that just opened. The soup is salty and had a lot more beef than I expected. The galbi is a generous serving size, maybe just a bit too many onions on the bottom. Love love loved the bibimbap, this was the first one in a while that I could actually taste the individual flavors of the vegetables and be yummy. I thought the side dishes would be the star but I thought in terms of taste they were pretty standard. I love chive pancakes, but them being cold made them taste a bit oily. The quail eggs are unique, I think they might be canned though? I would say the variety and main dishes are what makes this place great. Also the service is pretty amazing and more attentive than other spots. Definitely my new to go around that area.

We came just after opening on a Sunday and it was full! We used Yelp waitlist. Only two staff front of house so they were quite busy taking orders, brining banchan, bussing plates and cleaning tables. We started with some creamy mushroom soup and small salad. Before the entree we got eight banchan dishes, with egg upon request. Refills if you want more. The tofu soup was hot and filling. We god mild but we should have ordered one level higher since we didn't quite taste the heat! The Bimbimbap had a nice crispy rice, with gochujang hot sauce upon request. Plenty of parking in the strip mall.

We came to this place since we've never heard of it. The parking here was easy as it's in a big strip mall. Luckily, we got there at a good time because there was no wait and we were able to get seated as soon as we got there. The place is clean and service was very good. I opted for the mild beef soondubu. I was pleasantly surprised with the mushroom soup and salad, that was a nice touch. I probably could have had another cup of the soup but I didn't want to get too full because I knew that the banchan (side dishes) were refillable too. They had marinated quail eggs, apple salad, kimchi, ddukboki, kimchi jeon, soy bean sprouts, and more. Everything tasted so fresh and it was very delicious. The soondubu itself was spot on, normally when I eat at these tofu joints, I have a lot of soup leftover but I barely had any this time around. I would for sure come back, I would love to try their kalbi or bulgogi next time.

The entire set when you order soft tofu soup. The Galbi is a combo meal.

Wow! I never thought I'd see a place like this come to South Orange County. It's a truly legitimate Korean restaurant that brings elevated casual dining with beautifully presented, incredibly delicious dishes. Every dish looked thoughtfully prepared and tasted just as amazing. The service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone in the dining room was attentive, making sure our food arrived promptly and checking in to see if we needed anything throughout the meal. Best of all, you can enjoy high-quality Korean food without waiting in the long lines like you often do at BCD. This is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to again and again.

This is a solid Korean restaurant! No wait during lunch time. Staff were very friendly and offered recommendations which were helpful. Ordered the spicy soft shell crab and LA galbi combinations with the seafood soups. Each combo came with cream of mushroom soup, salad, and their own bonchon which was refillable. The soft shell crab ahd a nice kick to it while being soft and juicy. The galbi was pretty standard with what I've tried before. Overall solid food! Clean bathrooms and tables. Def will come back!

My first time here. I was happily surprised on their side dishes. It is different than the normal sides I used to get at other tofu house restaurants. I recommend this place who loves to explore and give their taste buds a treat. My husband came here before and really wanted me to come and give this place a try. I love it! Service is Great! Place is clean!

My new favorite Korean restaurant in Tustin/Irvine area! Got the yellow croaker (regular size) combo and the Atka mackerel combo. Every meal starts with cream of mushroom soup and mini salad. Then a tray with Banchan sides and rice are presented beautifully to each diner before they bring out the tofu soup and/or main entree. Everything was delicious! The Banchan sides are refillable... the kind staff will stop by to pick up the empty little dishes and bring them back filled. The tofu soup is more "concentrated" than BCD's soup. Seems like there's less broth served, but each spoonful of soup has more flavor punch. Love the peaceful, calm interior. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. Definitely will return often!!

We finally gave it a shot today. We ordered the steamed pork belly, cold noodles, and the galbi soup. The food was very good. My mom was quite happy with the cold noodles and my kids consumed every drop of the galbi soup. My dad and I had the steamed pork belly and we agreed that it was pretty good. The part I want to really emphasize was the service. The young man that took care of us was very attentive and most importantly, treated my kids so well. He provided them with all their usual needs like plastic silverware, extra bowls for soup, and even offered extra soup when he saw that they devoured the galbi soup. He went out of his way to give them some BTS Edition Oreos and little bags with stickers in them. I am always very grateful anytime people take care to treat my kids well. It was rich and just lightly spicy. Definitely need to come with at least 4 people to be able to try everything! We came as a family of 4 and it was the perfect amount of food. There was only one server but he was great and would constantly come and tell us if the stew was ready or to refill banchans.

I tried the raw marinated crab for the first time here, and it was so flavorful and honestly tasted amazing. It is definitely a little messy to eat, but I would absolutely order it again. The short ribs are usually my go-to and were great as usual. I will say BCD Tofu House probably has them beat when it comes to LA galbi specifically, but these still hit the spot. The bulgogi was also a solid addition to the table. One of my favorite parts of coming here is the banchan. This isn't the place for trendy fusion dishes or flashy presentation; it's all about hearty Korean comfort food that feels especially satisfying on a cold day. My go-to Korean dishes are Yukgaejang and Bossam. The spicy beef soup is usually my benchmark for any Korean restaurant. Tang 190's version delivered everything I look for: a rich, deeply flavored broth with a satisfying level of spice and plenty of tender beef throughout. It's the kind of soup that keeps me coming back. This last visit, I finally got to try their pork and kimchi platter. The pork itself was tender and enjoyable, but I wasn't a fan of the cabbage. Instead of being lightly pickled with salt, it had been fermented to the point where it resembled white kimchi. I've actually never seen it made like this before. I definitely prefer the fresher, crisper flavor profile to pair with the pork and radish, so this preparation didn't quite work. Service was efficient, and the meal arrived quickly. On any other day, it's usually a 5 star visit, but the bossam preparation was a huge miss for me. While prices have crept up over the years, Tang 190 still does what it does best: serving comforting, no-frills Korean food that consistently hits the spot.

I have always really liked this restaurant, which is why today's experience was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, what happened today was truly awful. From the beginning, our server appeared visibly impatient. When we repeated a couple of dish names to make sure the order was correct, she began speaking to us in an unnecessarily loud and irritated tone. Her voice was loud enough that another employee noticed the situation and offered to take over the order. Instead of accepting the help professionally, our server responded that the other employee would not be able to understand what she had written in Korean. When the other employee later asked her to repeat our order, she read it back very loudly and with obvious anger. The entire restaurant could hear her, and the experience made our whole family feel embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable, especially since we had children with us. Later, she seemed to realize that her behavior had affected us. She brought us a noodle dish "on the house" and briefly said sorry. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not undo the way we were treated in front of the entire restaurant. My question is: if you knew your behavior required an apology afterward, why treat customers that way in the first place? Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they are dining with a larger group or placing a larger order. We came to enjoy a family meal, not to be spoken to with hostility and publicly embarrassed. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed the food.

They also have a self serve salad bar and marinated meat which they keep it clean. It is interesting that they serve miso soup at a Kbbq place. The meat quality was good but it also hit and missed. Some plate of brisket, the meat is chewy since there is no fat. The last plate of beef belly was mainly fat and no meat. I do have to ding them some point due to the fact that their banchan plate at the salad bar seems sticky and the table too. For $21.99 lunch AYCE, though, I can't complain much.
