I was at the Yorkshire Restaurant for a monthly gathering of club members where we meet for breakfast. In the past, breakfast at the Yorkshire has been what you'd expect for neighborhood diner. That's changed. My meal of eggs, sausage, home fries and biscuits was poorly made. For example, the sausage patties were so badly overcooked that even cutting them into bite-sized pieces was nearly impossible. The sausage gravy that was ladled over the biscuits was nearly devoid of sausage crumbles and thus nearly devoid of flavor. The other elements of breakfast were simply ordinary but not memorable. The coffee was decent. Overall, the breakfast wasn't worth the $20.00 I spent for the meal plus tip. read more

This is one of the best breakfast spots in the area! Parking is pretty tight, especially during peak times. Established in 1950, the decor has stayed the same. It is close to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant as it gets, but don't get discouraged by the looks. The service is pretty good, and the cleanliness is half-and-half, but the food and price are spot on and will not disappoint. Pay at front when done eating. read more

This restaurant fits the bill for the classic, greasy brunch food that you crave on a Sunday morning. I have only ever been here a handful of times, but every time, I am guaranteed to find fast service, delicious food, and a great environment. The menu is extremely affordable the portion sizes are well worth it. There is a good variety of menu items and this is a good place to bring even the pickiest of eaters. The service is always prompt and the staff here works hard to get things done quickly. The food comes out quickly, even for a whole table's worth of orders. In this odd and ghetto plaza lies the gem that is known as Yorkshire Restaurant! My girlfriend and I had unlimited coffee refills, like seriously we never saw the cup empty. We always pass by here whenever we're driving on 28 and the restaurant always shows up on my Yelp suggestions so we finally had a chance to stop in for brunch. The staff is so friendly and accommodating! It didn't feel like I was in a restaurant but more like a guest in someone's home. The food comes out pretty quick and the portions are generous. Yorkshire Restaurant is a great spot to grab a hearty breakfast! Whenever we have friends visiting from out of town, we try to take them here for breakfast. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in Northern Virginia, and they get bonus points for being close to my house! Every time I go here, I contemplate between the 3 hotcakes combo, biscuits and gravy, and the country fried steak/chicken. All three dishes are delicious and definitely filling, but if I had to go with a favorite, it would have to be the country fried chicken! The chicken is fried to perfection, while still maintaining juiciness, and topped off with their amazing sausage gravy. I've never had any of their lunch or dinner options because I just love breakfast foods, but I'm sure they're just as good! Came here with a large group Saturday morning and we waited about 10 mins before they were able to seat us. Our server was very nice and took all our orders and was patient since some people didn't speak English. I ordered the beef hash with eggs, biscuits, and home fries. The beef hash was crispy, salty, and meaty. The fries were not too soft or hard, and the biscuit was fluffy and a little flaky. What else can you ask for? The portion was large and the bill was very good for what you're ordering. I'll definitely come here if I'm in the mood for breakfast. read more

We were suggested this place as a good "whole in the wall" type old delicious breakfast. It didn't disappoint! The French toast I got was some of the best I've had out at a restaurant, good brioche bread and great flavor. Bacon was good, but wished it was a bit more crunch (too much flop). The American fries were the worst part, and were horribly underdone. Biscuit was okay, but a little cold. My wife enjoyed her waffles but she said the liquid from the strawberry topping made the middle too mushy. Overall, I'd definitely come back and maybe try the pancakes next time. People came in without masks and the manager and staff said nothing. Two gentlemen were conversing with the manager maskless at the cash register and he said nothing. The line to wait wasn't distanced. No precautions in place whatsoever. On top of all that - the food was meh. I got the country fried steak and it was average. A little tough. The Yorkshire is an old school home style diner with homemade food by Ellis the owner and his Brother is the head chef. A place where everybody knows your name and they're glad you came. I've been coming here for over 15 years and now have moved out of VA but still come back every year to visits friends and of course get to the Yorkshire. Great prices, food, staff, and friends. Make sure to stop in. And if you need anything in the area or any help just ask Ellis, he knows everyone and everything in the area. I feel at home. :-) My experience took place earlier this year, on a cold brisk morning. On that day, nothing warmed my soul better than a hearty breakfast. My choice of meal? Country Fried Steak. Now, I've had similar meals at many a diners across this vast nation. That meal though? A massive potion that the locals consider a delicacy for $13?   I know I made the right choice when every to go order was the same exact thing. A lovely fried piece of beef smothered in silky smooth gravy sauce, adjacent to a mountain of home fries, accompanied by two large runny over easy eggs that were decorated by two fluffy biscuits. Say no more. Throw some hot sauce on it and have at it. It goes without saying I didn't finish my meal. I washed everything down with a glass of birch beer and I was out the door. Ate here for breakfast a couple weeks ago after visiting the Manassas Park Farmers Market. The decor is old and in need of refreshing. The food was ok. I was disappointed to see french fries on my plate when my menu choice described "home fries". What made it worse is that the french fries weren't even cooked evenly (some soft and bordering on mushy and other crispy). I am funny about my omelets and don't like them overcooked. I looked over at another patrons plate and should have stuck to my guns and not ordered an omelet but I did. It was edible but definitely overcooked. My husband enjoyed his food but I don't thing Yorkshire will be on my radar in the near future. Our server and the busser were very friendly though! I had the steak with hash browns, two buttermilk biscuits, scrambled eggs and a short stack on the side (which was addt'l, didn't come with the steak platter). I don't drink coffee but the waitress refilled her cup at one point and it just looked like dark water. My aunt said it tasted that way too as she poured half the sugar in it. My food was delicious, ended up taking the short stack home as well as a piece of steak and some hash browns which could've used some onions and peppers. The steak was well seasoned, didn't need to use any sauce to eat it. The portions are pretty big as well, I enjoyed it. However, the place is an old diner style and could use a makeover. It's set off in a run down shopping plaza, not sure if the other shops in there were even open. You walk in, I think you seat yourself because that's what we did, in a back corner to the left as all the booths were full. It wasn't packed but it was busy. Our waitress was pretty prompt, gave us menus and took our drink order but I don't recall her mentioning her name. She gave us a minute to look over the menu and our food took about 20 minutes. The silverware featured on the table is in a little paper bag and I'm pretty sure the plates are from the 80's! Not that it made the food any less enjoyable. Reasonable prices, my food was about $25..I'd go back here. read more

Their sign says "Best Breakfast!" And they lived up to it! Service was superb! Super friendly family owned business with food that comes out hot in less than 10 minutes. All the food is home cooked and their breakfast is claimed (and I will confirm) that they have the best pancakes in town! We asked for recommendations and they provided honest feedback and not just the most expensive entrees on the menu. Prices were great! It's a little run down, maybe a hole in the wall. In the midst of the covid pandemic this restaurant is one of my favorite "go-tos" on delivery apps like Uber eats! It still tastes just as great as I would get it dining in because they package everything so well. I'm a sucker for an al a carte breakfast from Yorkshire but in the past few months I've discovered that their homemade chicken noodle soup is literally the best I have EVER had and I mean that with sincerity.
