Overall great lunch combo plates with good quality sushi and reasonable prices. Ordered two lunch combos, nigiri plate + 2 item combo (eel and salmon rolls), for takeout. All of the seafood tasted fresh, and I enjoyed the salad and gyoza from the nigiri plate. Loved the value of these sets since you get a lot of seafood for a reasonable price (2 for $13 or 3 for $18). I passed by for lunch today and I ordered a sushi lunch combo of California roll(decent) spicy tuna roll(awful) and another I quite forgot that it's just tuna rolled up in small bites(the best). The order was not bad but it wasn't good either since the spicy tuna roll that had the consistency and spicy level/taste of a chorizo which is both off and awful which it didn't smell like the tuna at all. The service on the other hand was good along with the ambience of a typical chain restaurant. Overall, I might return but I'm not going to order certain items on the menu as I feel queasy about it. read more

Absolutely incredible sushi experience from start to finish. The fish was unbelievably fresh each piece practically melted in my mouth. You can really tell the chefs know what they're doing, with perfect rice texture and beautifully balanced flavors in every roll and nigiri. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste. Every plate looked like a work of art, and it made the whole meal feel special. I especially loved how clean and delicate the flavors were nothing felt heavy, just pure quality ingredients shining through. Worst service I've ever experienced from a restaurant. My order was wrong and for around 30 minutes, we were going back and forth with the worker trying to figure it out. And then the manager finally came by and gave us the run around for a bit until he came back again to tell us he'll contact his boss. We said okay and then waited 15 minutes until we decided to ask the manager to give us a call back once their manager replies. The manager or the store never ever contacted us as promised and still hasn't to this day. We do NOT recommend this restaurant. I went here on a Friday night around 10:15pm and there was a short wait! The restaurant was a bit crowded when we arrived, but we were still seated quickly. We ordered the Dynamite Roll and also the Tempura Udon. Both of these items tasted good, but I wish there was a bigger variety of items to choose from. All the but food was good though! Anyways, my favorite item I tried that day was the Tempura Udon! I loved how it came with a side of tempura items and the variety the tempura items had. I'd recommend this place! Solid place. I was able to call ahead for pickup which was about a 15-20 minute ETA. I got the lunch special because of the good price and it was a pretty hefty portion! I got the tonkatsu plate which was worth it for the price. It came with what looks like a mix of white and brown rice, miso soup, salad+dressing, 4 pcs of california roll, and 2 gyoza. Tonkatsu was a little dry and everything else was good, not amazing, but I was craving a simple meal so it hit the spot. I finally tried dine in, as I've always ordered takeout. The menu can be seen via QR code and ordering is the same. We did flag a server to order sake bomb, with Asahi. We didn't wait too long for the food to arrive. We ordered salad, two rolls, and chicken karaage. For dessert, we got the mango cheesecake and strawberry ice cream mochi. The spider roll had a good ratio of rice, unagi and sauce. The dressing on the salad is delicious. It wasn't the usual sesame dressing. The mango cheesecake was alright, there were mango chunks and two slices were provided. The whip cream, sprinkles and cherry with the cheesecake is unnecessary. It made the dessert look like a child's dessert. Same for the strawberry mochi, a simple presentation would have been sufficient. The red drizzle syrup and whipped cream should be left out. The restaurant was clean and so was the bathroom. Servers were friendly and removed our empty plates as they passed by. read more

Was recommended this place by a family member. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and was seated right away. The restaurant was a little small but they had plenty of seating. We got sat next to the sushi bar and there was a fish tank too! You order through a QR code and the food is brought out fairly quick (unless you order a baked roll). I tried the salmon avocado roll and the mango crunch roll. Both were very good! I am very picky about my mango rolls, but this roll met my requirements. It was sweet and savory. We visited this restaurant on a weekend around 9pm and it was still crowded, which tells how popular it is! The wait was around 10 min and we were seated at the bar. Their menu has a lot of selections ranging from sushi rolls, Nigiri to skewers. We ordered two sushi rows and Takoyaki. The Takoyaki has a generous amount of octopus in it. The sushi rolls are not bad too. I love the Yoshi Special roll because it has a rich flavor of avocado, crab meat, shrimp, and cream cheese. Everything here was really fresh! We ordered the dream box with was filled with top tier selections from Wagyu,Otoro to Uni with gold flakes. Everything came out quick which was good because I don't like waiting for my food. For the price they do give you big slabs of fish which in my opinion is sooo worth it! read more

Unintentionally showed up to their happy hour (Around 9:30 pm). Not sure if it was a staffing shortage because it didn't feel all that busy. Food was good, chefs were pumping out as much as they could. I also saw they had an insane amount of to-go orders, if not possibly just one large order. The value is there and so is the quality but I just had to rate the over all experience. We had to ask for water a a good amount of times, though we were offered in the midst of our dining the person just never came back around. We flagged down another server, who filled my cup full and my friend's cup half way and then she just walked away. It wasn't until we were done with our meal that a server gave us more water. We also had two items that never made it to our table. I did really enjoy the food and will *possibly* try this place again in future. read more

I can't recall my last visit at this spot because it's been many years, but I had the pleasure in meeting my friend here recently for a catch up lunch. We arrived around 11:30AM and the dining room wasn't as packed with the lunch rush quite yet. I ordered a specialty roll, miso soup, side salad, and gyozas to share. My friend ordered a bento lunch plate. Food was surprisingly really good, and I'm only saying that because I know of the neighboring sushi spot in Milpitas that everyone waits in massive lines for. The sashimi on my roll tasted fresh and had distinctive flavors considering the variation of fish on it. The gyozas were also really good but that's something that should be really hard to mess up. Our servers (we had one at the top of our lunch and someone different at the tail end of our meal) were both very helpful and efficient. Would definitely return for more lunch dates! read more

I used to come here alllllll the time when the place used to be Sushi Maru. Since Yoshi took over, I became more of a DoorDash consumer, so I'd order sushi from here to be delivered. The food was always great - no complaints. Last week, the hubby and I decided that we wanted to go out for date night and made the decision to sit down at Yoshi for a proper meal rather than order out. We were out on a Sunday night and it was not busy when we arrived around 5:30. They took out the sushi boats which was sad, but the booths were an improvement (the seats are now cushioned!). The walls were the same, but they now have high tops vs. the smaller standard tables along the wall. When you sit down, you have the option to scan a QR code to order. We were about to do this when the waiter came by and took our order. This was ultimately quicker and easier, so we just did that. Our waiter was very attentive and super-nice. He was on top of his game getting our order, bringing drinks, getting food out to the table promptly. We ordered the Yoshi special, the Rainbow roll, the Lion King roll, and inari. Everything was great. I ordered hot tea and it came in a tall metal cup. It stayed warm the entire meal, which was a huge plus! Their soy sauce dishes and small plates all had the Yoshi branding which I thought was super-cute. I miss Sushi Maru, but am happy it was replaced with Yoshi because the food and service was great. We walked in, we were greeted and sat immediately. It's not too big of a place, but we were there right before the rush. We ordered some miso to start and were brought our Wasabi & ginger to go with our sushi order. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, the Philadelphia Roll, Yoshi Special Roll, and a salmon handroll. As we sipped our Miso soup, we got to admire their fish in the aquarium. They were very active and beautiful. Our food did arrive quickly. All looked pretty good except the salmon handroll was pretty small. Looking at the picture, you'd think it was packed full of fish, but that's because there was hardly any rice in it. It was still tasty after adding my concoction of Sriracha & soy sauce mix over it. Dinner was very tasty! Service was great! We were checked up on plenty! What a delightful and delicious treat I had when finding this place! So cute inside, the waiter I had was so welcoming and nice. He kept checking in on me even though he didn't need to take my order since they have the ChowBus ordering system. I got the Dancing Dragon and one of the baked rolls.
