I had San Antonio Restaurant gift cards from Costco that I hadn't used. I found @ubonsthaicuisine on synergygiftcard.com site, so we visited yesterday for dinner to check it out! Usa (pronounced as Uk-sa) was our server. She made good suggestions and served us well. Dad had Purple Lemonade, Hubby had the Thai Iced Green Tea, and I had unsweet tea. We shared the Thai Veggie Spring Rolls, Steamed Dumplings in Green Curry, Duck Pineapple Curry, Shrimp Pad Thai, and Crab Fried Rice. The steamed dumplings in green curry were something new and tasty. The duck pineapple in red curry was my favorite. The crab fried rice was flavorful, but it used imitation crab. If you're in the Medical Center area and are looking for a good Thai place, you should visit and check them out! Next time we'll want to try the red snapper!

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by friendly, smiling staff. A cup of soup was brought to me when they took my order. My Panang curry tofu lunch was served quick. Flavorful. The decor is simple. Soft guitar music playing overhead. The restaurant looked clean. There's a good amount of varied food options. Chicken, pork, beef, tofu, seafood and plenty of vegetarian options. Reasonably priced lunch meals. If I had anything negative to say is that the food might not be hot enough (temperature wise) for those who prefer their food to be scorching hot. It was perfectly fine for me.

Very comfortable restaurant as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and patient. We were a table of four so we ordered a lot so we could get a good feel for the food. We had Egg drop soup, Tom Yum, Som Tum, appetizer combo, green curry dumplings, veggie spring rolls, larb, whole red snapper, drunken noodles, and pad Thai. The servings are plentiful and the flavors were good. Since it was my first time here I stuck to mild spice but I definitely need to kick it up a few notches. The Tom Yum soup was bright and aromatic. This is somewhere I would consider if I am on this side of town. It is a good value for your money.

Good food, my favorite is the Pad Woon Sen. You can get it at any spice level. I usually get medium. Their summer rolls are also delicious. We had Ginger tea, it was good. The waitress is very friendly. I enjoy eating there. They also have good boba teas. I would highly recommend. Nice Ambience.

First time trying Ubon. It was nice not very busy as it was later in the day. The food was amazing. Everything came out hot and had great flavor. The service was great very homely feel overall.

I keep on seeing this restaurant changing ownerships. The previous one was Thai too. After seeing so many positive reviews I decided to go check it out. The owner is so sweet! All smiles... chatty... spreading her energy from table to table. That alone deserves 5 stars review! I ordered the Thai fish cakes, pad Thai and the massaman curry. All tasted homemade. Like what a mother would serve you. I have been to Thailand and it is not really authentic but whatever recipes they are using works!

The best Thai food - perfectly seasoned, fresh, attentive service and described dishes in great details! My salad was a generous serving with balanced proportions of vegetables and shrimp!

First time trying Thai food so I was very excited and a bit nervous. I'm not the most adventurous so this was out of my comfort zone. Definitely happy I ventured out even though I did not think this was as great as people set it out to be. Just my opinion... We came for lunch and were immediately seated. The ladies brought out the menus and recommended some of their teas which they also brought us samples of. They were good. Additionally, we were brought egg drop soup as a starter and our orders were taken. The soup was nice, warm, and very flavorful. I ordered the chicken pad thai. That came out fast and very hot. I liked it but didn't think it was very flavorful. It was a bit lackluster and average. There are also no refills on drinks so you either have to buy a canned product, their teas or drink tap water. The restaurant was filling up with smoke so they kept their front door open. Not sure that's compliant with health or fire codes... I also used their restroom and there was a roach inside which really lowered the score of my experience.

    Inside dining. Very clean.

This is a must stop Thai restaurant. They had everything I wanted and then some. The service was top notch and it was very clean inside. The owner was a sweetheart and went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. We tried the Thai wings (sweet, savory and spicy, the Tom yum soup (very heart and full of flavor) and the pad kraw pow chicken and veggie dish (one of the best dishes I've had in a while) and I couldn't get enough. If you're looking for quality and some unbelievable food, this is your go to Thai spot. Also make sure you get some of her chili oil to go. The BEST around.

The food is really good and most of all the service was excellent. She was really nice in explaining the menu and what she recommended and brought out samples of drinks when we ended up getting the thai tea. The red curry was really good and flavorful and the basil fried rice was good as well. For the red curry we got mild spicy which was good and the basil fried rice we got the thai hot which was really spicy but still good. My only complaint would be that I think the meat in the dishes were just alright (we got the beef with the basil fried rice and chicken with the red curry).

I ordered the crispy dumplings (pork) and spring rolls as appetizers, and the spicy noodle soup as my entree. My server came to take my order, and brought me the items as they were ready. The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

The lunch specials came with soup and egg roll, and fried rice. DH ordered his litmus test dish for American style Chinese- General Tso chicken. The portion was generous. The sauce was tasty. The chicken pieces tasted like your average frozen nuggets tossed in sauce. It's that familiar "seasoning" to the chicken and coating- iykyk. Not bad at all, just not the best. He enjoyed his egg drop soup. I opted for Hunan Beef. The sauce was thicker than I prefer, with an almost gelatinous consistency. The hot and sour soup was nice, a little more sour than hot.
