Satay Chicken
Greg P.

So I ended up here because my regular spot was closed on Monday. I looked for something nearby and this place came up. The menu photos looked good and the reviews were reviewing so I gave them a try. Glad. I. Did. It was almost 7pm on a Monday when I walked in and it was fairly empty. Some people at a few tables. It's very clean inside. I was greeted and told to sit anywhere. The waitress was very probable and answered all my questions. I even asked her to recommend an appetizer and she did. So with that out the way let's get to the food. Per recommendation I tried the satay chicken appetizer. It was a little different from the menu photo when it come out but the sauce and chicken bites were good. Chicken was very tender. I also ordered the teriyaki chicken and added shrimp with no veggies. It was. DEE. LISH. US. It's the sweeter style teriyaki but not overpowering. Fantastic taste. And a little hint of spice if you get it medium. I burned my tongue I was eating so fast. It came out hot and I devoured it. So good. lol. The sweet tea was awesome too. All around very good. At the end the waitress told me they were fairly new and even asked me for any recommendations on improvement. I said please keep doing what you're doing. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

Compared to other places, this is bit expensive. Food is good but could be better. I liked the tofu and chicken dish. The beef was on the spongy side, didn't feel very good to chew. Taste is okay. It's good but nothing very different than any other Thai place.

Went on a Saturday to check it out. It is a new place after closing the previous ramen place. Everyone at that restaurant is Nepali! Very sweet and welcoming girls! I was trying to watch what I eat so I simply got the chicken satay first. My friend got the sizzling dumplings which looked like momos to me. Both dishes were really good! I saw they have rice pudding for dessert! Yes please! Turned out it is complimentary! Yes yes please! Then diet went out the window and I asked for a Nepali dish. They said the noodles is... it was delicious! It is too cute how they play the happy birthday song for people celebrating. It was a really nice place to hang out. They didn't rush us. We were there for more than 2 hours chit chatting I will definitely be back hoping they will add different Nepali dishes to the menu!

First time trying g this place and it's no wonder they keep receiving "5 stars". Everything we ordered was delicious. we had green curry with chicken, red curry with lamb, white rice, the "Sizzling dumplings"??, and a roti with rice pudding for dessert. For drinks, we had an iced tea.and a mango lemonde (recommended). The server was VERY nice, polite, professi9nal and offered suggestions and made recommendations based on our questions. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes on the menu.

Fantastic service and even better food! Our server was super helpful with recommendations, and everything we ordered was super yummy. I kept forgetting to take a pic because we just started eating. We'll definitely be back!

The food is so fresh and incredibly FLAVORFUL and tasty! This restaurant was a lovely change from all the chains around, the service we had from a sweet girl who talked a bit about the food with us definitely helpful in recommendations! Huge plus for us! The restaurant itself was nicely spaced and we enjoyed our booth seats! My boyfriend had the Himalayan Curry and I chose the pan seared gyoza! It was all so delicious! We definitely enjoyed the complimentary dessert as well I couldn't agree faster enough for a serving! Beautiful rice pudding that felt like my abuelitas cooking! There's pad Thai on the menu even traditional steamed gyoza and the option for it in a soup! This food is amazing GREATLY PRICED and we left with food we're definitely coming with our kiddos since they have a menu they'd love as well!

Himalayan Curry with chicken and Panang Curry with chicken add broccoli, zucchini, pineapple.

We also started out by trying their soup of the day which was a Brazilian recipe and it was SO good. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. As far as entrees we ordered the Spice Route Beets were vibrant and flavorful. We added salmon on the side. We also ordered the Pharm Kitchari (with chicken sausage added) was wholesome and well balanced. Oh and the vanilla bean mesquite latte is sooo darn delicious. I had two and still want more. Smooth, slightly smoky, and not too sweet. If you want food that tastes clean, fresh, and delicious, this spot is a must.

The customer service was fantastic as well. I used to always go to Merit, but this will be my new go-to spot. I also tried the lavender cookie, and it was delicious. I love finding food and drinks that taste great without leaving me feeling sluggish or weighed down afterward. This place delivered on both quality and experience.

Our waitress was very nice to us and was able to get our orders in quick. The place did look clean and a nice little setup inside with plenty of seats. I had ordered some spring rolls which were very hot but did taste good. I absolutely loved the panang curry. You can really taste the coconut and was very creamy. The chicken was cooked perfectly to me but will definitely ask for it to be spicier next time (they give you options for spice level 1 to 10 and I did 6 not sure how spicy it gets). I did find it more soupy for me but the rice did help. Wish I had a bit more rice to help it though. My friend also ordered the classic pad thai which was also pretty good. It was cooked how she liked it but definitely better if spicy. It was definitely a good experience overall and definitely would recommend for anyone to try.

I'm not vegan or vegetarian, and usually I leave places like this wishing I had just ordered a burger somewhere else. But this place completely flipped that expectation on its head. First off, the menu is surprisingly comforting. It's not trying to be overly fancy or obscure--it's familiar food, just done plant-based. With friendly service and a warm smile serving up delicious food. What really stood out is that nothing felt like a compromise. A lot of vegan spots lean heavily on the idea that you'll enjoy it because it's vegan. Here, it just tastes good--period. Even the sides, like the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, had that rich, satisfying quality you'd expect from traditional comfort food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, not preachy or intimidating. Whether you're fully plant-based or just someone curious (or skeptical, like I was), it feels like a place where you can relax and just enjoy your meal without overthinking it. By the time I left, I wasn't thinking "that was good for vegan food"--I was just thinking "that was really good food." And honestly, that's probably the highest compliment I can give. I'd go back without hesitation, and not just when I'm trying to eat "healthier."

We were a book club and it was actually perfect for our discussion because of how quiet it was. I think we were the one of two or three other tables. Service was very good and efficient. We were a large group and food was delivered on time. The food itself was OK. I ordered a monk bowl, which was actually not too bad, but it needed a little bit more a kick. It had a sauce on it, but I couldn't taste much of it. A friend also shared their noodle dish, which I believe was tofu with noodles, and it definitely needed some more flavoring. Prices were in the medium range, but they did charge for a plain water with cucumber. All in all, I enjoyed the food and the place, but I wasn't blown away. I would still consider visiting again to taste some of the other plates., and the location was perfect.

Every South Asian restaurant I've loved in my life has been a health inspector's nightmare…read more In Berkeley, I used to frequent Kabana, where the bathrooms were disgustingly filthy, and the only source of light was my phone. Best food ever. Here in SATX, for years, I've (begrudgingly) frequented Madurai Mes a few blocks away. You enter the lobby, and it feels like the staff is having a competition over who can ignore you. It's cramped and dingy, and there are AC hoses snaked throughout the place, and I've never been able to eat there for under $30, but they make a pretty good thali. And so in my brain, the best indian food comes from Resturants you don't much want to eat at. Nawabi was huge and well lit and dare I say clean? It felt slightly dated, and culturally a bit off - like maybe it belonged to an Ethiopian restaurant before - but classy. So the food was going to suck. The menu is expansive and seemingly interesting. It was missing my thali. It did have a number of dishes that offered a few things to try. I haven't, as an adult, longed for food served from a bucket - but Biriyani seems like a solid choice with which to fill one. My kid doesn't care for dosas, but does he like chocolate dosa? I don't know, but were fixin' to find out. Some of the weekend-only options had me salivating. I ordered the Plain dosa with mutton curry. This is a novel combination to me, and maybe also to my waiter, who had me point it out on the menu. It was good, the dosa was thin and crispy with the right amount of edges, the sambar was just ok, the chutneys were good, mutton curry was excellent. I skipped dessert, and opted for chai masala. But I should have really gone with some of their kulfi which looked super tempting in its display case. In short, everything was pretty awesome. I have my next visits penciled in to try the lunch buffet, peruse the weekend menu, and track down the AYCE pani puris. The only problem was that this time - on a Monday night - I was the only customer there, which was weird. But the staff was super welcoming, no Deliverance vibes, so I went with it. If y'all could do me a favor and eat here sometimes to keep this one open, that would be awesome.
