Best mala restaurant in NOVA! The restaurant is inside the Kmart in the food court, so it might be a bit difficult to locate. The mala broth tastes clean and not as oily as some other places. You can pick the ingredients you'd like to include and adjust the spice. The mid spicy wasn't too spicy luckily. Will definitely be coming back

I couldn't find good mala place but Love this place first time visited today and was soo good. Bringing me memory when I was eating Malatang in Korea. Service was good and clean place to seat. I think name changed to You Like Malatang instead of You Like Skewers. Got 2nd spicy level and if you like spicy like me get the 3 rd level.

It reminded me so much of Korea's mala tang restaurant in Korea! Its a Chinese dish but one of my favorite hot pot styles and so happy I finally found a awesome one in Fairfax! The mild was the perfect spice level. Still you can feel a little bit of tingle of spice but not too spicy. They are so well cooked with the veggies. You can choose any type of toppings and you can add meat too! Perfect meal for cold weathers ! The people taking orders were friendly as well and it was a easy vibe to dine in.

You like skewers is located inside the K market food court. They have been around since the beginning of this market opening. I have never tried their skewers but tried the malatang twice. The ordering process is somewhat self serve. You grab a bowl and tong and put in whatever ingredients you want. There is a good variety of ingredients. My favorite is the thick glass noodle and the quail eggs. There are 4 spice levels and I usually go with level 1. You can always add more chilli oil if you want as they have a little jar of chilli oil near the pick up. In terms of food quantity, it feels ljke a lot but I would say it isn't cheap. But the taste is very good! The broth has a rich flavor and the spice level is accurate. If you want to be full, you should be prepared to spend around $25. There are open seating options as the tables are shared for everyone to use. It is an open atmosphere so there isn't much privacy. The staff are helpful and friendly.

My daughter introduced me to this unique eatery which is located inside the K Street grocery store with multiple options to the small businesses. The area was very clean and spacious. As you walked up, you take one plastic container, a tong and gather your selected ingredients on the left side from various proteins, vegetables, noodles. You then bring it to the counter, they will weigh it and you have two options how you want your dish to be served which is dry or with broth. We did one of each. When your device was buzz, your food was ready for pick up. On the tray, you have your noodle dish which also comes with a bowl of white rice. Both dishes were delicious and for leftover broth, you can add the rice to soak up all that deliciousness. Once you finished your dish, just bring the whole tray up to the counter and they will take care of it. It was a great experience because it was like a hot pot but without the full table side experience. I will definitely make another visit.

The attached pictures are only a small percentage of the amount of times my boyfriend and I have come here this past year lol. After falling in love with build-your-own malatang in the west coast, we've been dying for something similar over in the DMV. We both knew this place existed in Kmarket but didn't realize they had the option for malatang until we saw the little shelves of ingredients. Even though it's a small, unsuspecting spot in the food hall of Kmarket, this might be our favorite malatang! The ingredient options are more limited, and it is a shame we have to add the meat portions for an additional price after we pick our ingredients but the flavor is so delicious and consistent that we really don't mind it anymore. You can also choose between Malatang (soup) or Malaxiangguo (dry pot/stir fried). The soup is so deep in flavor with that numbing spice making it so addicting. My favorite ingredients are the woodear mushrooms and fish ball with roe. So yum! My boyfriend and I share a bowl because there is a 1lb minimum that is hard to reach by ourselves without the meat. They don't skimp out on the broth though, so it's definitely enough for the two of us! They offer many other items including skewers and spicy stir fried dishes (we tried the gopchang and it is so yum!) The skewers are also delicious, covered in the many seasonings and spices that make it so strong in flavor and numbing but addicting. We come here so often the employees probably wonder where we are if we miss a weekend haha Definitely try this place out!

Food is great, i can eat it every single day. Spicy chicken feet is delicious and the noodles is a bomb.

About a 2-2.5: I do love me some skewers, and I really wanted to like this place - however, no dice! You Like Skewers is part of the K Market food court offerings, and their menu includes fried skewers (chicken, beef, lamb, ham sausage, squid cartilage, whole squid, and squid legs), rice noodles, hot pot (mala tang), and dry hot pot dishes (dry hot pot, spicy chicken gizzards, spicy chicken feet, spicy gobchang, and galbi with rice). We tried their 3-skewer special, so we opted for the chicken, the beef, and the lamb - honestly, I didn't see the need to have a buzzer/pager, as the skewers themselves didn't come out piping hot, recently friend, and/or fresh - they were room temperature, and the seasoning was all just cumin - nothing else. I was pretty sad that they had run out of the squid legs, so if you're interested in having that as an option, make sure you go there earlier in the day. I did see other patrons ordering dry hot pot dishes, so maybe this is what you go for. The staff here are friendly, and there are plenty of seats the court. I'm glad I was able to give this place a try, but wouldn't return. +avoid the skewers - too cumin heavy and not freshly prepared +friendly staff +located in the K Market food court +plenty of seats in the court +plenty of parking

Omg! If you really like spicy spicy mala Chinese hotpot, you will like their dry hotpot! So spicy with mala and the numbing peppercorns. Tasted very flavorful and the ingredients were fresh like the meat (we got beef, which I think they used chadolbaekki, Korean thinly sliced beef), lotus roots, cabbage, tofu skin, tofu fish cake, thinly sliced potatoes, cilantro, thin rice cakes, bokchoy, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, thinly sliced bibletripes, and a few other ingredients. It is $26.49 including tax, a bit expensive. I will still get it again since it is yummy! I don't know how their skewers are like but I can tell it has a lot of Chinese spices on it from seeing some of the pictures posted. **update on skewers** 7/23/2021 - we tried the skewers, chicken, beef and squid. It's definitely not for me. For those of you who likes a lot of cumin and spices, I say give it a try. But if you're like me and can't handle too much of cumin, you might not like it. Service was friendly and our dry hotpot came out within 10 minutes.

Amazing skewers & good value. Counter service, as expected. Food court ambiance varies. We need more places like these across Northern VA.

We ordered a spread: gyoza with sweet and spicy sauce, kimchi pancakes, fried shrimp, soy garlic wings, takoyaki, LA galbi, and jjampong with noodles... plus way too many drinks. We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both taste and fun without compromise, this is it.

I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I think people should be aware before visiting…read more JMT has a clean environment and is usually a fun place to watch games. Unfortunately, I have not had a good service experience here. I visited a couple of times during the World Cup because of their advertised drink specials, and both visits ended with us being overcharged. When we questioned it, the staff gave what felt like the same rehearsed explanation each time. Before ordering, we specifically confirmed with our server that they were running the $5 rail drink special. By definition, a rail (or well) drink is made with the house liquor and a standard mixer. At JMT, however, you'll be charged extra for every little addition without anyone telling you beforehand. A splash of cranberry juice or tonic water resulted in additional charges that were never mentioned by either the server or the bartenders. On top of that, a 25% gratuity was automatically added despite our server being largely inattentive. Throughout the night, we repeatedly had to get up and ask for things ourselves, and not everyone at our table even received a cup for water. To make matters worse, both their menu and website clearly state that automatic gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more, yet our party of 6 was automatically charged 25%. When we brought these concerns to our server, he spoke with the manager, whose response was simply, "That's how we do things here." He explained that he wasn't familiar with the drinks because the bartenders determine the charges, and that it would be difficult to void and reprocess the bill. We were also told that they always add 25% gratuity for parties of 6 and that, in their view, a rail is simply a shot rather than a mixed well drink. Those explanations directly contradict both common industry terminology and the information advertised on their own menu and website. I understand that restaurants and bars get busy, and mistakes happen. What was disappointing was being told that they've been operating this way for a long time instead of acknowledging the inconsistencies or updating their advertised policies. That reflects poor management more than an isolated mistake. It doesn't feel good to invite friends somewhere only to have everyone end up paying more than expected because the advertised specials and gratuity policies don't match what is actually charged. I can't say how often this happens, but after experiencing it on multiple visits, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your bill carefully before paying.
