This time, I took class with Amber, and she is truly a 10 out of 10 -- from her character to her teaching style, choreography, and ability to educate dancers in real time. She doesn't just teach steps; she teaches movement vocabulary and helps you understand how to inhabit the choreography as it unfolds. That presence and clarity make the experience special. A lot of what I enjoy about Sass Class comes down to both the choreographers and the energy of the space. That said, there are some practical considerations. There is no elevator, which can be challenging because of the number of stairs you have to go up and down. The studio itself is small but functional. There's a small waiting area, a check-in desk, two bathrooms, and a spot to quickly change if needed. There are two studios, which allows classes to run smoothly without feeling crowded. The location is central, not far from Moynihan Train Hall or Port Authority, and there are plenty of food options nearby for before or after class. Overall, SASS Class continues to be a space I value. I fully intend to take more classes there in the future. For me, it's about the quality of instruction, the intentionality of the movement, and the community -- and that keeps drawing me back.

The production was stellar and I might have to go see it again! Some things to consider: the seating in the balcony can be a bit iffy depending on how tall the person is in front of you. I am on the shorter side, so my knees touching the seat in front of me wasn't an issue. That being said, I would recommend spending the extra money to sit within the first three rows of the MEZZ C F for better unobstructed views, or for the majority of the show, you'll end up having to lean forward. When exiting the balcony, several flights of stairs weren't expected. If you have high heels, body aches, or issues with being in closed spaces, choose seating on the main floor to bypass the congestion. Lastly, there were times when I wanted to see more of some things and less of others, but one thing I appreciated was how it all came together. They definitely felt like an upgrade. We won the lottery and were in the front mezzanine. The view was great! The show itself was good, but not my favorite. I know people who loved it though, so might just not have been my cup of tea! The effects were incredible and Shoshana Bean's voice was incredible as always.

We were sitting right where the enormous elephant comes down and it was incredible to see. Speaking of the Circle of Life, it gets me SO emotional every time! I grew up loving The Lion King and this show just does it so much justice. The production value is to die for. The lighting, the scenery, the way they play with perspective. It's just all so amazing. And the singing? And the acting? I can just go on and on. I also love how they added "They Live in You" into this production, along with "Shadowland" and "Endless Night." It is so touching and moving. It's a great show to take your children to. I know it can be pricey, and there never really is a good deal per se, but if you are able to swing it and get tickets, you won't be sorry you did.

Unprofessional Security Team & Gaslighting Management…read more I am writing this to alert local residents and pet owners about a very disappointing and upsetting experience outside the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. On Sunday, I was walking my small dog past the theatre on W 49th St. My dog was simply doing what dogs naturally do--sniffing near the stanchion/queue belt. I was right next to my dog and actively using the "Come" command to guide it away. Out of nowhere, and with zero prior verbal communication, one of the security guards posted outside forcefully stomped his foot directly at my small dog to intentionally startle it. Immediately after, both guards on duty laughed at us. What is even more disgraceful than the security team's unprovoked intimidation of a small animal is how theatre management handled my formal complaint: False Assumptions: Management attempted to justify the guard's aggressive stomp by claiming my dog was "about to relieve itself" on their equipment--basing this entirely on silent CCTV footage of my dog sniffing. Sniffing is sensory, not an intent to urinate, and my dog was already responding to my recall command. Absurd Excuses: They framed a sudden, aggressive foot-stomp as a "preventative safety measure to protect equipment," completely ignoring the fact that professional security should communicate verbally with the owner first rather than intentionally scaring a pet. Gaslighting & Zero Accountability: When I pointed out that both guards laughed right after startling my dog, management brushed it off by stating, "we cannot assume intent behind laughter." They conveniently hid behind silent footage to minimize the guards' misconduct and disclaimed responsibility by blaming third-party contractors. Instead of taking accountability, offering a genuine apology, or ensuring a safe environment for neighborhood passersby, management chose to write long, defensive essays to invalidate my experience and protect unprofessional staff. If you are walking your dog in Midtown, be extremely cautious around this building. Sniffing nearby might make your pet a target for security guards looking for entertainment, and management will only defend their behavior. Extremely disappointing for a prominent NYC venue.

Located on 49th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, in Theatre Row, across the way from Ambassador Theater that's currently running the classic musical Chicago. At 6:30pm on a Sunday, the pre-show crowds were lined up in front of theater entrances all around. Two queues formed in front here, after security and ticket check, you head inside thru a shallow foyer where the will call/ticket office is located at a couple windows to the right. Unlike some others that have lobbies, within ten feet from the entry, you step into the main floor seating level. Along the back of the theater are a couple glass merchandise displays (t-shirts, tote bags, pins, music), and a stand where you can make your purchases. To the back (left side if facing the stage) is a bar room, where alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages are available for sale; headsets for hearing impaired are also available at the left corner in this room. Seating is spread over two levels, with side balcony box seats that didn't appear to be in use. Theme of decor incorporates gold art deco with neoclassical elements, additionally the curtain screens along the stage and balcony are designed with beautiful scenes of a clouded evening sky, stars and planets. The stain glass gothic revival frame hemming the edges of the stage evokes the Salt Lake Temple in Utah. Getting to the show - SOOOO GOOOD. The performers are so talented, especially the "Africa" cast, their harmonies were super tight! The storyline, vocals, musical song and dance numbers, in-your-face humor written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez - really stood out to me as one of the most enjoyable musicals out there. And I laughed so hard. Can't believe I waited 15 years to see this!

The class was 2 hours long and overall a very fun learning experience to make a tote bag. Not easy imo, but you are taught in a way with demonstrations first prior to attempting to do it on your own, a few steps at a time. I thought the hardest parts were the beginning prior to actually sewing - putting the thread in the machine and setting it up. But I'm sure with experience it becomes second nature. You're given the basics of the machine from the buttons to the different parts and the pedal. Then comes the fun part of actually putting together the tote bag. From sewing the sides to sewing the handles, the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful! Very delighted to have taken this class, and looking forward to taking more in the future. As someone forever petite (unfortunately), I spend so much time getting clothing altered. Would love to learn more about altering my own clothes.

We received a run down on how the machine works, learned how to thread the machine and how to fill the bobbins. Then we made a denim tote bag. This was super easy and really fast. After lunch break is the 2nd project. If you don't have your fabric, the school can sell you fabric directly inside for $16 a yard. I bought my fabric elsewhere and brought it in. I honestly recommend doing this instead of buying it from them. Because you have to wash your fabric like how you wash your laundry regularly since it shrinks naturally. We picked our patterns and I made a skirt since a skirt is faster than pants. They recommended not to make pockets or else I'll run out of time. But I HAD to add pockets. Women's clothing have little or no pockets regularly. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. and they immediately notice if someone is struggling or stuck. This really impressed me. For example, when I was threading the bobbin, the spool of thread was running out. The teacher was immediately behind me with a brand new spool of the same color so I can swap it out when it was finished. That was a great eye for detail! Overall, highly recommend. Just bring in your own 3 yards of cotton fabric, already washed and dried, for the 2nd project!
