Manicure and what was supposed to have been a clean cuticles and clear polish.
    Cel H.

My daughter's $30 pedicure!! This place is a joke! Took them less than 10min do a kid pedicure and at least could have put on a decent nail polish on her toes. They look terrible! Stay away from this place! I'm scared I may have caught a staph infection! The place is DIRTY and looks unsanitary! I wish I would have stopped and walked out, however, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt! The placed is run by a man and wife and they had their young elementary school age kids there. I respect small business but this place is unreasonable! They charged me $90 for my daughter's pedicure less than 10min work, my pedicure less than 30min work and a simple manicure that was also less than 10min work. Altogether, it was less than 30min. Terrible foot massage and the the lady even went in too deep with the cuticle cutter and cut me. This place does not deserve 1 star....this is a "zero" star place!

Absolutely horrible. My nails look like a 2 yr old did them. I went home and redid them. Never going again

Worst experience I have ever had. I get waxed monthly @ other salons & this has never happened. Embarrassed to say I went there.

By far this WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in a nail salon. Run down, I would not trust the hygiene especially the looks of the waxing room, the least thing from welcoming. My toes look like they were painted by a child. My FACIAL WAX ENDED IN QUITE A BIT OF REMOVED SKIN (see photo) which has never happened, and I get waxed monthly at other salons, I am just in town traveling. The woman's hands also smelled of raw fish, while she was touching my face, I will be lucky if I don't catch anything from that spot. I should have trusted my fight or flight reaction and left as soon as I walked in. You could not pay me to go back for ANY service. I understand why I was the only customer in there for 2 hours. - Ultimately EMBARRASSED to say I went there.

This is why I wanted to FULLY dry my nails.. i know why I do things

I went to get my nails done here I tipped very well when I paid my bill. I wanted to to dry my nails fully but the owner and his wife had a problem with me staying in the store for more than an hour the reason I stayed was because my nails weren't fully dry and due to so many layers of nail Polish I had to stay under the UV light not a fan. there were only 4 people including me in the store: the owner the owner's wife one cliet and myself all wearing a mass and practicing social distancing. the wife came to me and checked on me after, the owner husband in their native tongue signal for me to be checked on. the wife let me dry my nails a little longer after an extra 10 minutes the wife comes to me again and removes my slippers and the husband yells out you have to leave you cannot stay here I said I do not want any problems I'm not ghetto I just wanted to make sure my nails were dry completely dry the wife says you should have use gel nail Polish I told them I will leave I don't want no problems I just stayed because I want my nails fully dry I tipped well I paid for a pedicure there's no 1 else here I didn't know it was going to be a problem they insisted that I leave and that I cannot stay there so I left I will never come back here again they were very rude Nd they also charge extra for a diaposible foot scrubber that other salons don't charge you for.

Chemical Burns from being instructed to dip my fingers in pure acetonw
    Darcy C.

Walked in to get a gel manicure. The staff was very rude and had me sit for fifteen minutes before instructing me to place my fingers in to a bowl of clear liquid which I assumed was water until it began to burn at which point I realized it was pure acetone. I incurred chemical burns on all of my fingertips. When I called the salon to let them know they expressed indifference and became confrontational. I'll never go back and highly recommend you don't either unless you want to go to the doctor afterwards.

I've been going to this place since October with no problem until Monday. I got my nails done on Monday & they started chipping on Tuesday. I go back in & the woman gave me attitude about fixing it but she did. Then Thursday i realized my gel was just peeling off, so I called and they told me to go back in no problem. I ask them if they can fix it & the woman starts screaming at her husband who also works there telling him that I have already gotten it fixed and that she wasn't going to fix it for me. (Keep in mind I would have paid to get it fixed even if I shouldn't have) he then started to yell at me in front of the guests nails that he was doing telling me that it's my fault because I didn't get the full manicure and just a polish change. I'm balling in a college budget I'm not trying to get my nails done every week I just want a polish change. After yelling at me in Chinese & English like I was his child, he told me he would fix it but "this is the last time" so I told them no that THIS was the last time & that i'm never going back. They lost my business for sure & I will not be coming back to this salon.

We booked the lowest-priced ritual package, which included a 60-minute massage (we upgraded to 90 minutes) and a 60-minute sauna session. The cost came to $288 before the tip, after applying a Spa Finder gift card. We tipped 20% for each masseuse, but the "Tippy" system they use for tipping added an annoying $1-2 service fee. It would be nice if they switched to a different system that didn't tack on this extra charge. The spa offers free parking, a delicious ginger shot upon arrival, Fiji water, and free locker access. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was clean, calming, and peaceful. Our sauna session was scheduled for 6:30 PM, followed by our massage at 7:30 PM. The sauna room was spacious, and I managed to stay inside for the full hour, although my husband had to step out to cool off. The heated seats outside the sauna are a nice touch for those who can't handle the full heat. The only downside was that you couldn't play Netflix on the large TV in the sauna, so we ended up watching a movie on one of our phones. The hour flew by, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The TV does display a 10-minute warning timer, and we had to sign a form agreeing to be charged extra if we exceeded the time, so we made sure to leave with enough time to shower and put on our robes. The door to the sauna room didn't lock, which made us a bit nervous that someone might accidentally walk in. After the sauna, a male staff member was waiting outside for us and asked if we were ready for our massages. We quickly put our belongings in the locker, but when we were ready, he was nowhere to be found. We had to go to the front desk, and another staff member escorted us to the salt room, where we waited for about 10 minutes. We didn't pay extra for the salt room, and honestly, we were glad we didn't. It was relaxing, but neither of us felt any real benefit from it. Our massages started around 7:40 PM. The masseuses asked us which areas to focus on and then got right to work. The massages were incredible, with medium to deep pressure--exactly what we were hoping for. They targeted every area, even including our scalp and face, leaving us in a state of total zen. However, the massages were technically supposed to end at 9:10 PM, but when we checked the time afterward, it was only 8:55 PM. The spa does close at 9:00 PM, so we felt a bit shortchanged on our massage time, which was disappointing since we paid for the extra 30 minutes. Overall, I highly recommend the couples ritual at Gaia Spa. Despite a few minor issues, it was a relaxing and much-needed escape!

Then checked out the pool, it was empty when I was there with pitchers of cucumber and lemon water. I could tell the cucumber wasn't being replaced so while it was cold it wasn't the best for a spa. Also no tea anywhere I went but maybe that was just my experience. I did enjoy the yoga and pool alot. The reason I am giving less stars is because of actually a few reasons. The sauna area in the women's locker room was filled with very loud people who even talked inside the sauna. It was very un-zen like. I think the spa should make sure the areas that people are using are quiet. Also, there is a small room in the back of the locker room with a couch and a chair but it's very small and has no tea and there was a garbage can keeping the door open. That said, the ceiling of the room with wooden planks and the music was very peaceful. For a day pass it can be a good deal to do yoga and relax at the pool but I wouldn't come here for a full on spa experience the treatments looked very expensive for and place that is not super high end, it's nice but not that exclusive or luxurious to warrant such high prices. I actually enjoyed my experience other than the loud women and minor issues. Adding more yoga classes on the weekends would probably bring more people here. Hope this review helps them and anyone wanting to go there out!

She talked me out of getting hair color, never sectioned my hair for the haircut, and then proceeded to chop it up in an unexpliciable way and blowdries my hair completely flat. I asked to maintain the length and long layers with face framing angles to give the hair MOVEMENT. I took a long quiz on the website telling them what's important and giving them inspiration photos, all a waste of time because no one reads that apparently. When I complained directly to fabiola that the hair had no movement.. instead of curling it or doing a bouncy blowout-- she started rapidly layering my hair by over directing chunks around my crown area. I have layers in my crown that drop into this weird panel. my shortest layer goes to my occipital bone and does not connect to the longest layer so I now look like I have a mullet. Rough, heavy "Swedish massage" resulting in broken capillaries and inflammed, sore skin. Sketchy…read moretipping and payment, with extra fees for using a credit card. Hopefully our experience gives others an idea of what to expect. I wish I had read the other Yelp Reviews before we went to Zen Spa. Other people have experienced the same roughness in their massages, and the same coerciveness with tipping and payment. Swedish Massage I booked a massage for my 20+ old son. He is an athlete and has had many massages at other spas, including deep issue/sports massage. When we arrived, the "therapist" suggested a 90-minute session for $110. For today, my son did not want a deep tissue massage so I asked her to confirm that this session would be Swedish and he could tell her to make the pressure as light as he wanted. She confirmed yes. Payment and 30% (or higher) "Suggested Tipping" When it was time to pay, she asked me to hand her my credit card, and then as she initiated the payment, she asked how much I wanted to tip. Since it was a $110 session and I customarily tip 20%, I said "$22". However, she did not just add $22. She pointed to a printed sign that listed "Suggested Tips for a $110 session" and the smallest suggested tip was $30. This is a 27% tip, far above customary. In all other businesses I've dealt with, I am the one to tap my credit card, and I can privately enter whatever amount of tip that I choose. But at Zen Spa, the therapist held my credit card hostage while asking me to tell her how much I wanted to tip, as if it was a set amount obligation and not the client's choice to show appreciation for good service. I was taken aback by how presumptuous she was, but decided that I would just tip the 27% and be done with it. The payment should have been $110 for the service plus $30 for the tip, for a total of $140. However, the receipt total said $142. I pointed to the sign that said the 90-minute Swedish massage was $110, so the total should have been $140. She kept insisting that her total was correct, and only after I kept asking did she point to a different sign that said that there was a $2.00 fee for using a credit card. My guess is that they were passing on the credit card companies' fees to the client, but they didn't want to change the published price list, so they created a smaller sign that said that there would be a $2.00 extra fee. Really deceptive. Rough Massage and Broken Capillaries After we left, I asked my son how it went. He said it was a terrible experience. We understand that there may be bruising or redness, but he has never had that with deep tissue massages at other places. But at Zen Spa, with a supposedly "Swedish massage," the woman was so rough with her hands and a tool -- perhaps a massage roller -- that he had to tell her to lighten up. The result of all the roughness is a back full of broken capillaries and inflamed skin (see photos attached). This is not normal. Less important, and rather funny, was that the spa room smelled like garlic. This place was definitely not peaceful and zen. One positive thing I can say about the spa is that they take precautionary safety measures because of the neighborhood. Another therapist/owner said that they lock the doors to the building when they are in sessions because "there are lot of bad boys" in the area.
