I'm visiting from Nashville and was in desperate need of a pedicure. I read a prior review that said it was expensive so I called to inquire on their prices. Uhhhh...it' was about 20% less than I pay in Nashville. I booked an appointment, came in and was immediately greeted by happy, smiling faces. The salon itself is beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Miriam did my pedicure and while she didn't talk much, (totally fine!) she was extremely through, kind, gentle and detailed. After my teen's IG nail appointment cancelled last minute, she was extremely disappointed because she had researched and planned out what she wanted for over a week (charms and all) and budgeted for what we normally pay for a full set: $60. I quickly jumped on Yelp and searched for a nail salon in our area. The phone was answered pleasantly, I was not placed on hold, and we were accommodated that afternoon. The salon is aesthetically pleasing and there seems to be an established clientele because the owner either greeted or said goodbye to each one of them by name. That was a good sign but how did I know the nail tech was the owner? She and the receptionist were the only ones not wearing a uniform, and, there were beautiful, large portraits of her family and young children on the walls of the foyer/waiting area. Immediately, I took a menu to verify the services and pricing. They appeared to be fair market so I relaxed in the chair as my daughter was asked inside to get her nails done by the owner herself. Here is where it began to get uncomfortable. As I waited, the owner kept talking with her child on the phone, giving instructions and guidance, and also checking her cameras at home. She seemed a bit anxious and rushing through the service. At one point, she instructed the receptionist to remove the Specials sign from the window mumbling something about how everything is going up! Then, she got up and moved to the station behind her because it had a UV light dryer. She finally finished and we checked out. My daughter had a full set of acrylics with a pink French, no bells or whistles. They charged us $90--so I was only able to afford a $10 gratuity at that point and sent it through the Cash app. because it must be paid in cash. The salon is in Weston and it's immaculate but as you will see from my photo, the manicure is "cute" yet overpriced! One-hundred dollars is hard-earned money and I was expecting to pay $50 at most, as outlined in your menu but never $100!! Two tips for business owners: 1. Explain your "extra" pricing up front. Don't assume that customers will easily understand your pricing even if "you" believe it's the industry norm--it's "your" industry, not the customer's. 2. As a supporter and advocate of work-life integration I advise you mustn't do both simultaneously because either your family, or your business will greatly "pay" for it in the end. Take the time off that you need, when you need it, for high-yielding outcomes and customer satisfaction. read more

I was in need of a pedicure and fill and didn't want to travel to my typical nail salon, so I thought I would give White Orchid a try. First glimpse, I walked in not long after they opened and there were 2 nail techs there. The salon was clean and friendly and I was happy that they were able to take me. I want to mention my services totaled $75 and were communicated to the front desk in Spanish, as my tech had started her appointment - as I am writing the review and looking at the price menu, I don't really know how it totaled that much and I didn't question it - so shame on me. I had a basic pedicure - which is $30 and I didn't even get the warm towel or a true massage. I thought maybe that's their style - but again reading the price menu - only the kid's mini pedi doesn't include hot towels. I also had an acrylic fill - with my nails filed down. There are 2 prices listed $30 and $20. Even if I was charged for the Pink at $35 - still not adding up. I also decided to not have my nails polished, so the tech only clear polished. I had no repairs. I did appreciate that there was no upselling to use dip or do a new full set. So there's a star. I will say shame on me for not clarify what I was paying for and how much - but as I look at the menu of services of prices not only did I not get a full service basic pedicure, I was obviously over charged. We ( myself, my mom and my dad) were walk ins and I think we may have surprised the ladies working. They were super friendly and did a great job. Their English was limited so conversation was minimal. They called in the boss, to help out when other guests with reservations started to arrive. Overall I was happy w/the final results of my gel pedi. However, the actual service received during is where my concern is. The gal that did my pedi was pleasant but she answered 2 phone calls during my pedi. My favorite part of this service is the massage but that didn't happen @ all. The water was cool not warm & refreshing. I also enjoy the massage chair but it wasn't working properly. Kept turning off. Hence why I had to remove a couple of stars. The salon was clean as well but it just wasn't the service that's typically provided for a pedi. read more

Back in Florida! I haven't seen or been in a nail salon for over 2 months and of course I came back to White Orchid since my last experience was exceptional. I was super apprehensive since the COVID-19 pandemic but when I called the salon everyone ensured me that every measure will be taken for safety precautions for not only their employees but also customers that are walking in. I was able to come in and feel 100% at ease while getting my mani/pedi, they added plexiglass as a barrier between techs/customers along with disposable kits. Thank you WONL for going the next mile for everyone's safety. I do highly suggest to call in and make an appointment so that the staff can space out enough time to sanitize and clean each space before each customer relaxation time. They have an excellent collection of Essie and OPI nail polishes. It is well-furnished and very clean, which is a very important detail that I appreciate. It is a definite spa like experience when I come here. They do a hot towel wrap while painting your nails. I particularly appreciate how carefully they scrub the bottom of my feet. I am very ticklish and most places don't care, and just scrub away, which I don't like. If you come between Monday through Wednesday, they have a special on manicures and pedicures, so definitely come then if you're looking for a bit of a save. read more

Was not a good experience... I MADE AN APPOINTMENT for a dip manicure, which in total took about 2hrs 30mins. First off my manicurist didn't soak my nails off, she filed them off... briefly dunking them in open acetone between filing, instead of letting it soak off easily, while my throat was on fire from the fumes. Then cut my nails too short, after I showed her the length I had wanted them(with another manicurist who spoke more English). So trying to move forward... I said we could just put tips on the too short nails, she didn't listen. I asked her to fix it, she just said "it's good". Apparently had never put a tip on a nail before because she set it with the glue, then ripped it off when it was not inline with my other nails. Another tech had to come and finish it for her. By this point the second manicurist had left. Got my dip done and top coat put on and what do I realize... my whole left hand of nails has lumps in it, that she "didn't see" until I pointed them out and let her feel the nails. Not small imperfections but tangible lumps. So she re-does the hand. I step into the light and see the NEW off color streaks in two of the 4 nails she just re-did, in addition to the length issue and less unsightly lumps on the same two fingers. The owner comes in and files down the lumps, which was fine... but for someone who consistently gets their nails done, having that scraped varnish around the edges of my nail look be my final result isn't really appealing. All in all I left after 3+ corrections and more that would've taken too long to fix. I still paid full price, but I won't be back for any service. **12 Hours Later: the top coat is already peeling.** ((Keep in mind I don't blame the language barrier, it's the fact that I confirmed with everyone else in the shop... and they left a new tech with a language barrier there alone to just figure it out & me without another option in my service. Having to consistently point out issues to "professionals" is not a good look.)) read more

Let's start with the positives, the place was clean, proper, there's plenty of parking and everyone there was very nice. They had an offer on Yelp saying that they would provide a 7 day longwear upgrade on any manicure for free, but none of the employees knew about it so they didn't make good on it. It was still fine by me, I just wanted a regular mani pedi. Jackie was an absolute sweet lady, and insisted that I should get the gel manicure because the regular one would only last 2-3 days. I said sure, I knew that it would be an additional cost, I didn't expect it to be 40 dollars. But still, I just wanted something nice so I decided to accept. She did a wonderful job with my feet, even though it was a regular pedicure. But my hands? I can't say that I was pleased. I keep my nails short, so I just wanted to have them look clean, help me with my cuticles and the sides with often look not so presentable. She did so, in a very poor manner, left the nails uneven and once she applied the gel and it dried, I wish I had been looking more closely into everything she did. The overall result was mediocre. It's nothing dramatically atrocious, but it was bumpy like she had applied the gel unevenly, with some areas being spotty. As if I had done it myself with a home kit. That was on Friday, today is Tuesday and all the borders of my nails are peeling, without having done any dishes without gloves or having done anything that could merit them looking so bad. I won't be returning to this place, it's a shame. They should consider using better materials. read more

Bringing my girlfriend to the nail salon is always a chore. However this time the experience was great. Typically nail salons have an odd small, however this one was super clean and actually smelled great. The staff were super nice and took care of all my girlfriends request. This was one of the first times I actually didn't mind waiting at the nail salon since it was super clean. They all wore mask and adhered to COVID protocols which is very important to my girlfriend and myself. Was happy to pay at the end of the session. Terrible service, I went to this place to get my feet done unluckily for me had to get them done with a girl that did a messy job once she was done I had to tell her to filled my nails because she didn't even did that properly , after that decided to get my nails done with a TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON dip powder when I asked the lady to do what I had decided (French color) she said she didn't knew how to do that and that for me to get that done I was gonna have to get Gel. I end it up getting a random color, once she was done I noticed my nails weren't shiny instead the were dull crusty and with bumps on it, went back for her to fix it all she did was put some clear nail polish on top of it. Just left from here, customer service was great, every single lady was super nice and polite. I went with my two sisters, they both had full set by Ashley and was great. I used someone else and after getting home and really looking at them without the pressure of everyone in the salon watching me, they ate horrible. My nails aren't the same and my previous toe polish is still there. I don't have the most perfect pinky toe but I've never had this issue anywhere. None of my acrylics look the same size or shape and the painting was horrible...I'm not a rude person so I paid and tipped as normal because again they were super nice ladies working there. I appreciate the kindness and then working during this pandemic. But also will be Honest about the work and it's not great from my nail tech :/ I'm sure she doesn't do acrylics much but that doesn't just mean she should do them lol. Well... I came in for an urgent manicure and I don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel that I literally got scammed. I came in for a gel manicure. They advertised a Shellac manicure for 35. I figure they may charge me a few extra dollars to put three tips since 3 of my nail broke in top of the nail bed. I got charged 50 dollars. Now I remembered why I stopped coming to this place. I will never go to this nail salon again, dropped my daughter off to get her nails done for school and jt was a total bait and switch. She was given a sub par tech who did not do dip nails and instead did acrylic, the shape was terrible and they painful. I called the owner to complain and she brushed me off, telling me she would fix it when they are beyond repair and need to be taken off. I will not go back, $65 for something sub par.
