I recently had my 2020 Camry serviced for the first time at Younger Toyota. After trying to schedule the appointment on the phone unsuccessfully, I was able to schedule an appointment online. It was very easy and straightforward. When I arrived, my car was immediately brought into the shop. It took approximately an hour to change the oil and rotate the tires. There was free coffee and pastries for waiting customers. There is also a waiting area with multiple chairs and a TV. There was also the same convenience for small children. The waiting area, restrooms, and showroom were all very clean. It was comforting to see the many service and sales awards they have displayed. The service representative did not try to sell on a bunch of expensive and unnecessary repairs or products My overall experience went very well. I would recommend this dealership for other Toyota vehicle owners. read more

While I'm not an attorney but as a seasoned consumer I say this is bait and switch: utilizing their website they show prices "crossed out" with a GREEN lock button that says "unlock instant price" - when you click it you have to proved several points of data, their site then "verifies" that data and you have to enter "the code" once completed your approved to see your price which is "call for your price" so now I don't have a price and they have my data! read more

We live in Northern Virginia, but our Toyota wouldn't start in Hagerstown, so we had it towed to Younger Toyota. Was told we need a new alternator and that it would be ready the next day in late morning. I called Younger at 12:00 and was told it was almost ready. I called again at 1:30. Finally, at 3:00, they called to say car was ready. Paid $1300 for new alternator. Simply out of curiosity, I had called our usual repair shop in NoVA and was told that they would charge $750. My son-in-law told us the alternator costs about $50, and he had replaced one in his car in less than an hour. I have good reason to believe we were totally ripped off by Younger Toyota. read more

They did such shoddy work and I hadn't noticed until I went to clean the car. I just wanted to remove my five star review, and if I could, I'd give them a MINUS 100 if I could! Scott Subetto, the acting manager of the body shop was rude and rolling his eyes when I went back to show him how the bumper and fender do not even meet! Big gaps! AND a scratch on my hood. Nothing meets up or looks straight. SMH. The force of the impact takes it through to the other side, Simple Physics. The energy throws it through to the other side. They even missed the scratch between the hood and fender! Mr. Scott Subetto, the acting body shop manager, and in charge, said to me, "It's from somebody hitting you in a parking lot." Really? Where there's no damage to that other side at all? Way to GO in discounting my complaint and not taking accountability! By-the-way, I got the highest A in College Physics. I'm negligent in observing your mistakes sooner. But I'm not THAT STUPID. Perhaps I can save other's from going here. This guy is a bully and no accountability. Do not take your vehicle to be serviced here! The service manager is a liar and their techs are not doing the job that they are paid to do. This was to be a simple oil change and tire rotation as I have previously had done here on the same vehicle. The vehicle had not been serviced else where since I bought it in July of '22. The service advisor came into the waiting area to let my husband know that the oil plug for the oil pan was difficult to get off and it was now leaking oil because the previous place that did service put on an aftermarket oil plug/seal and now it was going to cost us $600 to replace the whole pan. Younger was the "previous" place so I'm not sure how that happened. When my husband got home he checked the oil that was as black as midnight.....not changed as we had paid for that to be done. And the technician had indeed stripped the oil pan plug bolt and the seal was hanging from the bottom of the car. We then went out and bought oil and the $40 tool to take the oil filter off to replace the oil ourselves. I have pictures and videos documenting the whole process. We called the general manger several times with no phone call back. Brandon, the service manager, however did call us back and called my husband a liar saying he heard the whole conversation between the service advisor and my husband in the waiting room which is completely separate from the service area and where his office is located. He got so offensive that we said his technician do not perform the oil change.... I can assure she do not. They are not willing to rectify this situation by refunding us minimally the oil change and the part we had to buy to change the filter. My family, including myself have bought several vehicles from them but never again. I will make sure every person I come in contact knows how horribly we were treated. read more

So i took my car in and dropped it off after picking it up my check engine light came on before even making it home, ao i call up there and the service manager had left for the day. Ur two SA's (i didn't get their names) call me back after to the Service Desk after 15 mins to tell me that my car is out of warranty (i don't why Brandon didn't check it when he was on the phone with me the first time), then u guy's tell me that it would be chargeable service out of the warranty range. The first tech that did my job specified that it needed two roof drip moulding's but only completed one side, now u guys won't fix what should have been fixed at that time. Came here from Frederick to test drive a used SUV I saw online. I was 90% percent sure I didn't want it due to the 125k miles on it but the price was rock bottom so I figured why not go look? The salesman was nice and not very pushy but overall the experience was disappointing. I called that morning to let them know I'd arrive between 2:30-3:00 yet when we got in the car, the tank was on empty. Not that it mattered, since the salesman got in the backseat and directed us on what was about a five minute drive around the corner. The Carfax noted there was minor accident damage reported on the left side but the salesman could not tell me how minor, what the damage was, or if it had been repaired. I don't expect perfect service records for a used car but I think they should be able to tell me "looks like the damage was buffed" or "the left panel was dented and repaired", something along those lines since they know what to look for. I wasn't impressed but maybe if you're going to buy a new Toyota instead of a used Ford like I was you'll have a better experience. read more

After a disheartening estimate on an old car's serious repair, we decided it wasn't worth it and to buy a new car...NOW. While hubby got his junk out of the old car, I walked out of the service bay, flagged down a salesman, found the model I liked, and had finished a test drive before he was done! Godwin went out of his way to help us, explained every drop of rebates we qualified for, and never tried to push me towards something more expensive, which I sincerely appreciate. I live near DC but had my Volvo towed to Younger after I broke down about 20 mins northwest of Hagerstown.  I'm not sure now how I found them bacause it's not obvious from what I see now they work on Volvos. Anyway. I couldn't have been happier with the overall experience (maybe short of them telling me they'd do the work for free.). The service manager Chad was top knotch-helpful and informative.  The waiting area was very pleasant and the staff seemed in good spirits.  Even the young man (who I won't embarrass by naming) that shuttled me to my car had good things to say about Mr. Younger.  It shows.  If I lived closer I'd be a repeat customer for sure. read more

My car was towed to Younger Toyota. It needed a new battery which they replaced. Later, I was told by my driver that went to pick it up that the car was dead when he got there and that he waited for 2 hours before someone came and jumped it. Yes, they jumped a brand new battery and didn't blink an eye or mention it to me. It is only because my driver told me that I knew. So I called and Brandon Humbertson agreed that wasn't right and offered 50% back. I thought it was at least a nice gesture. But instead of making it right, Brandon handed the chore off to Dennis Gish. After not getting the credit, I called back and they said they must have wrote the number down somewhere and lost it. So they tried again. No credit again. Called back. This time they said they must have refunded the wrong person. I wish I was joking. Again I wait and no credit back. This time Brandon used the "Well it takes the banks five days blah blah blah." What amazes me is that the simple concept of customer service teaches you that when a customer complains, that is your opportunity to do right- why would you offer to spend the money to grant a partial refund and then mess that up so bad also? I'd feel sorry for Dave Carroll the GM having to manage these guys, but he never bothered to return my call. So long story short- about a dozen calls over 3 weeks and nobody at Younger Toyota managed to keep their word or have any integrity. read more

The first time I wanted to look it was raining so they were going to pull the car up but 15 minutes later the sales person came back said he was having trouble getting car out. I have a 2005 Toyota Camry xle with over 328000 miles. It was running a little sluggish and was worried perhaps my transmission or engine was about to give me some problems so I contacted Younger Toyota and spoke with Denny Gish who is the service manager and asked if Younger would be able to check my car from "head to toe" and give me an honest opinion on what they thought the problem was while not charging me a fortune. I took the car on 10/19/20 to Younger. I must say that Denny had the mechanic to do a world-class inspection along with checking a few things on my list that my personal mechanic was not able to perform due to not having a rack to raise my car. After the evaluation, their mechanic found that it wasn't my transmission/engine, but it was a dirty air mass flow, and my transmission fluid needed to be flushed. Denny communicated with me throughout the evaluation on my car the entire time and I left with the opinion that for a big box dealership the customer service there (and the work done) was superb. What really impressed me was the honesty and the communication between the service center and the customer. I would highly recommend anyone with a high mileage Toyota to take their car for an inspection and an honest evaluation. (And the coffee is pretty good too!). read more

Moving from West Virginia to Hagerstown, MD. we recently purchased a RAV4 from Younger Toyota. We we're trading in two used vehicles. We received a fair price for one, but not the other, our perception of trade-in price was based on a quick look at Kelly's Blue Book. We negotiated the price of the vehicle and probably could have done a bit better, but we didn't have a dealers cost print out, and we were ready to move on. While waiting to sign the final paperwork we were approached by the salesperson and the financial manager and informed they made a mistake and never added the Maryland State sales tax! We were not happy as the additional cost came close to $2,000. The finance manager made a small gesture of several hundred dollars off, apologized and we agreed. We never reviewed the sales numbers as we were assured several times by the salesperson that the Maryland State Sales Tax was already included and accounted for in the final price. Guess that's why the sales person didn't go over numbers with us. Our bad, buyer beware, but in terms of trust, DO NOT trust this dealership! GO over everything and negotiate them into the ground. I guess the old 70's style of gottcha sales tactics are back or never left Younger. Whatever happened to the new relationship sales style, ya know, a customer for life is worth a lifetime of service and new/used vehicles, not at Younger! They don't get it as i'll be trading in my used Toyota FJ Cruiser for a new Toyota in the next two years, not at Younger. Our vehicles will require service over the life of our Toyota's until we retire, not at Younger. 10 to 15 years from now when we retire and look to purchase new vehicles, not at Younger! My girlfriend works in Hagerstown for almost 25 years and word of mouth is what we have to alert prospective car buyers about Younger and it will not be kind. Do NOT trust this dealership!
