As soon as the orthodontist stepped into the room, I informed her that I was retired and didn't have ortho insurance and was concerned about the costs, she stated, if costs is the concern, I'm not going to be your low cost solution. I sat in the chair for 5 minutes and she charged me $50. More interested in making money than taking care of patients.

She never knew what she was doing. If a brace came lose, she left it, her course of treatment was never clear, etc... She never talked to parents directly. I noticed she never had the same workers and could not keep anyone. She was never able to get my insurance after 3 1/2 years. When we wanted the braces off, she wanted us to sign an agreement. We are now at a different orthodontics with braces again, because even after 3 1/2 years teeth are not straight. Overall, I wish I had asked around more because now when we mentioned where we went the reaction it never good, and everyone seems to have the same kind of story.

I used to go to this place for years. They always offered me the mouth guard which I never…read morepurchased because of the price. Also I have sleep apnea which makes it hard to wear a night guard since I have a mask that covers both mouth and nose. They mentioned there was a mouth guard that would help with sleep apnea/snoring as well but they said that the insurance usually does not cover it. Last time I visited, I had a new insurance company that covered medical and dental insurance. I asked if they could ask for an estimate to see if they would cover the sleep apnea mouth guard. (Out of all the times I visited they always showed me the same mouth guard device that had two pieces and was connected my a piece of plastic/metal that would push your jaw forward to help with snoring) After they check with the insurance they said that the insurance would partially cover the mouth guard. When I was on the visit they scanned both my top and bottom teeth. I thought that they understood that due to the sleep apnea I would not be able to use a regular mouth guard since it makes it hard to breathe with a full mask on. When I got there to pick up my mouth guard they showed me a piece that THEY HAD NEVER SHOWN ME BEFORE. The piece was only for the top part of the teeth. I asked why I was getting this and they said that they told me that this is what I agreed on. Which is not true. I was never shown this piece. If they would have shown me this. I would have not gotten it. They knew that a regular mouth guard will be hard to use with a CPAP machine. They said to try and see if it would work. I did. And just like I knew it would happen it doesn't work. I did see that the claim the submitted to the insurance was for 600 and my co pay was 146. Which I paid. For a one piece mouth guard that I cant use. And I cannot return. It's been very frustrating and disappointing to be treated like this. They knew my condition and I was not shown the second "mouth guard" only the sleep apnea one. They tried to call me and offered to put the $146 towards the sleep apnea mouth guard but the price for it would be $700. I would not recommend this place. Do not get the mouth guard even though the offer it often. Now I have a $146 device that I cannot return and I cannot use.

We scheduled our appointments and arrived at our scheduled time. The Front Team Amber and Katie we so nice and pleasant. They welcomed us as if we were family. From there we began our journey we were greeted by the hygienist Herna(excuse me if i mispelled) who in my case took me back for xrays. She was thorough and also very nice. Just to let ya know I am PETRIFIED of Dentists. Well an amazing experience after my xrays and cleaning I was greeted by Dr. Weir for my final inspection. She too was so nice and explained to me everything going on in my Mouth. Im proud to say all is well. Let's start with the fact that they've changed Dentists more times than I can remember and hygienists are the same. They'll always try to tell you that you need 5 or more fillings and yet when I've gotten checked elsewhere they all tell me they were just trying to make money off me. This brings me to my next issue. I made an appointment far in advance. They called a few times to confirm it but I was sick and dealing with other medical issues at the time. So, I get a text the day BEFORE my appointment saying my appointment has been canceled because they couldn't confirm it. I thought ok well that's fine. Then they send me a lovely bill for a missed appointment fee. When they call back, Mckenzie, starts the conversation by saying I violated the financial policy by not calling, it is what it is, we'll send it to collections if we have to etc. I told her, listen, I have never missed an appointment you can check my history, and you all canceled the day before I have the text message to prove it so why would I have shown up? Her disrespectful, catty response? "Well you could have called, you have a responsibility too." Which i replied, "yea my responsibility was staying alive because I was sick. I didn't prioritize a dental cleaning appointment but im telling you that's what happened. You assume some of us are just lazy or careless and that's poor customer service but that wasn't the case here." She held on to her anger and disgustingly cold approach and said she'd send the balance to collections which I said, go right ahead. It will go no where and cost them more in the long run because not only is there a fee associated with sending it there, they have lost a customer and everyone affiliated with me because I'll make sure everyone I care about knows to stay far away from this "practice". My reach in Frederick and neighboring counties goes wide, and I'll make sure people dont get scammed by this atrocious place or its people. If you want: 1. Show up on time for appts but get called back 30-1hr past your appt time. Go here. 2. Unprofessional, rude, catty, young, inexperienced staff taking care of you, go here. 3. So I can reference this experience very well. The intake process was very easy and personable. They did not just hand you a sheet and tell you to fill it out. They took the opportunity to answer rather mundane questions to build rapport and the make a good first impression. The cleanings went well. The technicians were very child friendly. I especially liked the education provided to my children. Sometimes dentists and technicians can speak condescendingly if your teeth are not perfectly brushed and flossed, but they did not do that here. They made my kids feel empowered and more excited about dental care. That has never happened before!!! 5 Star service for us for sure.
