Please do not use YDS. From the very beginning they were extremely inflexible. They also want you to pre-pay for all services. We went forward with YDS only because they came recommended by our previous dog walker provider (we moved). It was the ABSOLUTE WORSE EXPERIENCE. After about 2 months, we went out of town for a week. I specifically asked if they wanted to care for my dog otherwise I was more than happy to make other arrangements. I have an older sheltie (14 yrs old) who has arthritis and needs to be carried up and down stairs. The OWNER made a commitment to us about the level of care and who would be coming to our home. Yet, she never delivered. Within the first four days, 5 different people who never met my dog previously came into our home. On the 4th day, I got a call from some stranger who said they were in my home and my dog was sick. She could not answer a single question - other than, I just got here, never been here before, and if you want any additional care for your dog you have to call the office. I called and got no response. We cancelled our trip and returned home. When we got home the next day our dog could not even stand on her owner. We had to take her to the Emergency Vet. At NO POINT IN TIME did Colleen ever reach out to us and express any concern for our dog. The next day I stopped by her office to discuss what had happened and no one was there. I left voice messages and emails. When she finally replied several days later it was via email with her lawyer CC'd on it! In her email she stated that my DOG WAS OLD SO WHAT DID I EXPECT...When I requested my money back she said NO. I had pre-paid for 8 days and only got 4 days of service during which my dog got sick and strangers wondered through my home. As I went through my credit card to determine the exact amount she charged me, I discovered that she had double billed me several times. She denied the duplicate charges and refused to refund anything. I then got a letter from her lawyer offering me $100 if I signed a "settlement" agreement and agreed to never speak poorly about her company. The best was on the same day the lawyer signed the letter noting that Colleen vigorously denied my overcharging complaint she went and charged by credit card $640. By this time she was refusing to provide any service despite the fact that I had prepaid for a bucket of daily walks and was still owed on that purchase. I ended up having to go direct to my credit card company to get the false charges and my refund back! I also had to speak to a lawyer after she made slanderous statements in writing to my financial institution. My bank shared the letter she sent them with us. This all happened in June and was only recently resolved. Several people have commented on the OWNER and her lack of professionalism. She is extremely emotional and not rational. It is impossible to separate her from her business. Do yourself a favor and just find another walker. A neighbor recommended another walker (All Friends Pet Care) and we are extremely happy. read more
