Super stoked on this place. Your Mom's Haus opened up back in May 2025 and it's everything you want in a post-surf dive bar. It's walking distance from Surfers Beach, making it the perfect spot to grab a cold beer and brat brimming with warm sauerkraut. Chatted with one of the owners, Paul who is an Aussie ex-surfer and gets the local vibe of HMB while offering an alternative to all the clam chowder and fish-n-chip spots along Princeton Jetty. Saw this new spot that opened up recently and wanted to give it a try. It's rare for me to come across German food within the bay area but this place is for sure a hidden gem. Service: T'was excellent and bar tender was very friendly. They do 4% discount if you pay with cash. For online ordering, order directly from their personal site to get the same menu prices. Ambiance: Great atmosphere and cool decor. There's window access to the ocean view. Huge variety of German beers. Parking is limited back of the building. Bathroom very nice and clean. Giant Bavarian Pretzel $15 (5/5): The best pretzel I ever had. This was fried instead of baked which gave it a a nice crust and soft inside. Portion size is huge, it's a sharable snack. The beer cheese and pickled that comes with it was great as well. There's also 5 different selection of mustard to eat with it. Sausage roll $13 (4/5): This was good. Make your own roll starting with $13 and 1 topping included, additional is $1-2. Ordered with yak bratwurst ($2+), sauerkraut, and grilled onions. There are a large variety of brats on the wall shown what's in stock including alligator, venison, and other exotic meats. Bread was good and freshly made, wished I did grilled onions with the pickled onions instead. I'd definitely would come back again to try the jägerschnitzel. Menu is a bit expensive side but the quality does reflect the price for sure. read more

The type of place you can't fake. Vibes check and types of exotic meats you can't maker up. Rattlesnake? Yup. Alligator? You don't have to be in New Orleans for this. I wanna know where do they get the snake and defang and how do they remove the toxins? I'm not brave enough ... or curious enough for this. And my current vegan self is cemented. Still, we got their Polish dog and bratwurst (everything house-made) with sauerkraut and red cabbage with German potato salad. Their giant salted pretzel with beer cheese and my husband scored a zero alcohol Guinness. I've had bratwurst with that quintessential flavor I look, much like the British bangers when in a British pub. I appreciated their attention to detail with the vinegar and caraway seed, plush the freshness of both cabbages. Their bratwurst didn't hit well but their Polish sausage excellent. You can get any sausage in a roll and slather it with sauerkraut or mustard or chili or any of their toppings. Or get their plate which comes with two sides and potatoes plus two sausages. Their pretzel is freshly baked with exactly the right type and amount of coarse salt required on a Bavarian pretzel with the yummiest cheesiest sauce--it's huge and appropriately named as a "giant" pretzel because it can easily feed ten people as a starter! They also have specials of the day, a beautiful bar where regulars grace. There's a little caboose carriage car with bar stool chair seating, super cool. It's a tiny place with patio seating, for those willing to brave the cold windy blustery chill on most days. Super rustic inside and charming. This is the place, btw., that's now taken over where Breakwater used to be. The prices are great and street parking free super easy, in front of the El Granada post office and liquor store. Such a slice of nostalgia, we used to live here and in so many ways, not much has changed. read more

Lots of delicious sausages and beer in a homey pub-like setting near the beach. Make sure to ask the barman for recommendations!

I called in an order, picked it up 10 minutes later, everything was as requested. The restaurant is small, pub-like, and the bartender was very pleasant. Pretzel: 5 stars +! It was fantastic all by itself, but the beer cheese really made it. Sausages: we chose a bratwurst and a chicken apple sherry flavors, 4 stars. They were good, but we would order the schnitzel next time. It came with coleslaw and sauerkraut. Coleslaw: 5 stars+! Red cabbage and green onion, with a vinaigrette style dressing rather than mayonnaise based. I know, it's just coleslaw, right? But no, it was a standout part of the meal. I regret not ordering homemade potato salad with bacon, that will be happening next time. read more

We were drawn to this place by the pics of the pretzel and brats and of course by the name... it's such fun to hear the GPS say, "Your Mom's House is on the right." This is a super fun place tucked into the tiny neighborhood of El Granada, and it definitely had the feel of a neighborhood spot. The hubs and I opted for the weinerschnitzel (even though we came for the brats this looked delicious) with German potato salad and the preztel. The pretzel has a slightly different texture because it's fried but still fantastic! And the beer cheese that comes w/ it is spot on - you can very clearly tell it's made of beer and cheese... the pickled onions were a nice touch. This is a super fun place and a great alternative to the seafood places that are so plentiful. read more

Incredible beer selection with a unique variety of brats and sausages. Wish I could try all of them, have been back several times and love the boar, the lamb, the duck. The deep fried pretzel with house made beer cheese lives rent free in my mind, it is everything you could want with a beer. The sauekraut and potato salad are wonderfully fresh, would take a huge jar of either home. So happy to have such a great spot so close to home! read more

I was craving a soft pretzel with cheese and searched on yelp and Your Mom's Haus DELIVERED!!! It was so good and totally hit the spot. This pace is cute and fun. Lots of delicious German food, we loved the potato salad and my partner enjoyed the bratwurst. He had 1/2 potato salad and 1/2 coleslaw as sides which the bartender recommended and it was GREAT! The potatos were perfectly cooked and all of the mustards they offer as sides were fantastic. The brand of mustard they use Inglehoffer is so delicious and there were a bunch of varieties to try. Overall a cozy and friendly vibe here and some of the seating by the windows you can see the ocean. The crowd was a diverse mix of people after work, families with kids, young couples and locals. It feels like a special neighborhood spot where everyone is welcoming and chill. The schnitzel sandwich was golden perfection and the swiss cheese it came with was awesome. We both had one of their sour beers which is from a local Belmont brewery and was amazing. We got the impression the bartender really knew all the beers well and could make custom recommendations for whatever you are in the mood for. Definitely loved our time here and looking forward to coming back- recommend checking this place out! read more

Very local vibe, but super friendly. It was already lively around 5pm with about 20 people, I had to raise my voice to talk across the table, but that's just part of the atmosphere. I wasn't brave enough to try the exotic meats like Rattlesnake, rabbit or other meat like wild boar sausages, so on my first visit l stuck to a CA. hot link which did not disappoint! It was juicy (or maybe it was the sauerkraut) but my bun disintegrated as a result! My only surprise was the 4% surcharge for not paying cash, but l am told that's standard. Most restaurants mention that, or have signage on the menu, but l only spotted it as it was slipped onto my receipt. Anyway, I'll know better next time! read more

This place took over breakwater bbq's old spot, so it's a small establishment. But the staff is friendly and attentive for a casual place. There is a good selection of beer on tap and a nice and interesting list of sausages that includes some unique game sausage options. Overall a great experience and we'd visit again to try the other beer and sausage options when we visit half moon bay again. read more

We just ate here for the fourth or fifth time. This place is awesome! Got the schnitzel sandwich, loaded up fries, and the pretzel. Oh man, that pretzel! They're doing something right. Before today we always got sausages of all different kinds. Snake, boar, lamb, duck, and some more mainstream stuff. Always good. GREAT BEER SELECTION! They're all super nice and seem to talk to everyone who walks in in a kind and familiar way. Cool decorations all over the walls. Glad they took over this spot. Great selection of 12 brat flavors, and tasty side dishes. We opted for the plate of two sausages and split it along with a delicious pretzel. The sausages had great texture and flavor and the side dishes were delicious. I was also very impressed with a selection of beer, which included local beers and a great selection of German beers. My brother joined me, as he lived in Germany for three years, and he was very impressed with the food and beer selection. I will definitely be back. Friendly staff, down to earth spot in the middle of well to do residential area. Stopped by while waiting for friends to get back to the house and was pleasantly surprised by how chill it was. Came for the soft opening and enjoyed the food and the beer, both of which were great. The pretzel is apparently a banger (I don't mean British sausage) but ran out by 7pm, but it's a soft opening so pretty forgivable. The beer selection is actually really good though, I had a hard time deciding what beer to get because they are all good. As per German tradition, there are select beers that come in a liter (note to all you 'muricans that only know freedom units, this is a BIG beer)! If I was a local, this would be my spot. read more

He proceeded to speak to my female friend very aggressively and called her a cu*t multiple times in front of my other friends and other customers. ANY bartender anywhere else who behaved like that would have been immediately fired. When we've been refunded for that day, a fulsome and unreserved apology from this business has been received by my friend and Casey no longer works there, I'll remove this review. read more
