"Jumbo" shrimp cocktail
Tina B.

Extremely disappointed with lunch offerings. The "jumbo shrimp" as another commenter stated probably was from a frozen Costco bag. Not one steak on the lunch menu even though the name is "Mullins Steakhouse." It's just a glorified snack joint for golfers. Service was slow and inconsistent, although staff were exceptionally nice. A group of 4 were sat after, but ate and cashed out before our table of 2.

****beware**** Mullins WITHOUT A DOUBT , dilutes or water-downs their alcohol. We sat at the bar and ordered an old fashioned. Suspecting something was "off" about the drink, we proceeded to say it tasted watered down. Originally hailing from kentucky, my wife and I have a nose for the brown nectar of the gods. Suffice to say they didn't believe us though other patrons at the bar thought the same thing . More to come .... Stay away

This restaurant is right in Ritz Carlton's zone so you'd have to let the guy in the parking lot know you're heading here and they'll let you through. Got here around 11:30, and it was pretty empty but it got busy in about an hour. Service: 5/10. The waiters here are nice but they're definitely not attentive. We had to walk up to them to ask for a table-- the waitress told us anywhere so we sat outside and asked her to wipe the table because it was wet... she said sure and never came back. A different server almost spilled water on us, and we ended up having to walk up to them and ask for our check and boxes. Food: 8/10. Fish sliders- The fish was cooked perfectly-- melted in our mouth and so so soft. Clam chowder- A little bit too salty, very little clams, and too many pieces of bacon. It was delicious though! Fried chicken sandwich- Generous serving. Chicken was fried to perfection and very tender. Tuna salad- SO good! Pretty sure tuna was house-made as it was fluffy and fresh. Vegetables served with this were also fresh and cut up into bite sized pieces. Mullin's Frito Misto- Calamari, prawns, and French fries. Wasn't too greasy, thank god. I could tell they were freshly fried as they were crispy on the outside and soft on the outside. We really liked how the French fries were seasoned! All 5 dishes were shared among 4 adults, and we still had leftovers. I would recommend this restaurant for their delicious bar food, but I wouldn't expect too much from in terms of service.

A casual spot with a lively vibe, perfect for a family or ladies lunch. Great service, full bar and the food is delicious. Lucky to have Mullins in my neighborhood.

The food and service were excellent. We had Cobb salads and Caesars with salmon. The only problem was the phone lines were not responding.

You are allowed to order two items at a time during the 90 minute brunch portion. You then have 30 minutes for the dessert items, though the waiter did say we could order more brunch items during that time too. I maxed out during round 5. Round 1: The MARIN COUNTY CHEESE TASTING and the PAN SEARED SCALLOP. There were three types of cheese on the plate with some fig jam and some raisin bread. Everything was super tasty. Loved the fig jam. The scallop was very nicely cooked. Loved the truffle foam. It was supposedly polenta foam but it was very smooth and not grainy at all. Round 2: CAVATELLI and CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES. I think the pasta was my favorite meal of the day. It had a great truffle and parmesan flavor. Soft pasta. Yum. The pancakes were also delicious. Nice and fluffy with melted chocolate chips. I did hold the ricotta cream from it as I know I don't like it. Round 3: LOBSTER ROLL and WAGYU BEEF SLIDER. The lobster roll was tasty but messy. I don't like caviar so I had that held. The slider was very tasty. The sauce on it was a bit too BBQ-sauce flavor for me but overall not a bad bite. Round 4: I did the ORGANIC MAITAKE MUSHROOM and another scallop. The mushrooms were super flavorful. Loved the crispy rice puffs on them. Round 5: I just did on plate - the BELGIAN WAFFLES. I loved the waffles. Crispy outside, soft inside. Warm apples on top and a big dollop of whipped cream. Yum! Dessert: There were carrot cakes, coconut macaroons, strawberry shortcakes and a chocolate pistachio balls. I only add the carrot cake there and took the rest home for later. The staff was very good. Always taking away empty plates and refilling drinks and water. A splurge of a meal but worth it for good food and service.

At almost $200 pp, we went in wanting to make sure we could order as much as we could during the time limit of the unlimited brunch. However, we didn't have to worry - the service was so fast, that by the end we were well stuffed that the time restraint was moot. Each person can order 2 dishes at a time, and we had the chance to cover everything we wanted to try off the menu and order our favorites multiple times. Some highlights were definitely the scallop and lamb (even as non-lamb lover). The salad also surprisingly stood out, it was really great to eat this paired with the seafood/meats especially towards the end of the meal. I also really enjoyed trying the different caviars, and always love a solid wagyu slider. Only wished they had cornichons to pair with the slider, but appreciate that the staff tried to find pickles for us in the kitchen. The meal ended with a afternoon tea tower of pastries, which we were at that point way too stuffed to take in. The one pastry I tried though, was really delicious, not too sweet. All in all, 10/10 experience. The cherry on top was the complimentary champagne for our celebration! Truly a splendid experience.

I was excited to try a handful of different breakfast options: berries, belgian waffles, mimosas, oatmeal, hashbrowns, and the lox bagel. I wasn't even hungry but I finished everything. Maybe it was the mimosas I had, but each dish was very appetizing and filling. Our server noticed that I love mimosas, so she personally made me a special one: Kombucha mimosa! We had no idea a restaurant like this was out in Woodside. The unassuming cabin led to a rustic bar, which then led into a greenhouse room, surrounded by redwoods. Our friend and our toddler loved the views. Food itself was fantastic, everything was very well prepared and there were plenty of vegetarian options as well. I had the quail as a starter and the venison, as my entree. The quail was very well, seasoned and well cooked with very juicy and tender and flavorful meat. The crust was perfectly crispy and was flavorful as well. The venison did not taste gamey at all and was melt in your mouth tender, i really enjoyed this dish. Finally, I had the panna cotta as a dessert, which we confirmed with the restaurant was vegetarian without gelatin. Very light panna cotta without being too cloyingly sweet.I really enjoyed this one too. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals as well. And had nothing but good things to say. Wood Tavern met the criteria for a relatively nice American restaurant in North Oakland. We visited for lunch and wanted to make this special for our mom, so we were perhaps a bit overdressed in business casual, but this is Oakland after all. On an ordinary Thursday, there were multiple groups waiting outside for the restaurant to open at 11:30 AM. That in itself should tell you how popular this place is. My wife and I dined at sister restaurant Southie next door a few years ago and really enjoyed it (I also rated it five stars on Yelp), so I was confident Wood Tavern would not disappoint. I initially booked our reservation using OpenTable to link it to my account and get 100 points. Since the max party size for Wood Tavern on OpenTable is four, I had to call to get it changed to eight. Due to the large party size, the restaurant also required me to give them my credit card info and be subject to a $25 per person no-show fee. Upon arrival, our tables were ready for us in the back corner near the open kitchen. The restaurant is true to its name with a shared bar and dining room space that evoke the feel of a wood tavern. Here's what we had: Wine of the Day * Rosé (100% Zweigelt), Stefan Pratsch, Niederösterreich, Austria, 2024 ($16) "N/A Libations" and other drinks * Cherry Bomb! non-alcoholic cocktail ($13) - Tilden Lacewing, Amarena cherry, lime, ginger beer, tall glass * Shirley Temple ($5) * Diet Coke ($5) * Iced Tea ($4) Soup & Salad * Red & Golden Beet Salad x2 ($16 each, one with fish added for $8) - frisee, castelfranco, pistachios, orange segments, Laura Chenel goat cheese, Cara Cara orange vinaigrette Sandwiches * The Hot Pastrami x2 ($25 each) - Emmentaler cheese, Dijon-horseradish dressing, La Farine baguette Old Reliables * Seafood Stew ($32) - rock cod, Manila clams, PEI mussels, calamari, butter beans, fennel, leeks, chili flakes, garlic toast * Pork Ragu Casarecce ($30) - Castelvetrano olives, Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, chili flakes, parsley * Tavern Burger with French Fries on Acme Soft Bun with All the Fixins x3 ($25 each, two with cheddar added for $2 each) Everything was excellent. As for what to order, I recommend all of the dishes we got. It really just depends on what you like and/or what you're in the mood for. Everyone loved the food. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, the pastrami was one of the best I've had anywhere, my mom raved about the seafood stew, my brother-in-law gobbled up all of the casarecce, and the burger was outstanding. Service was polite and speedy. Our server Sophia C was awesome. We split one of the salads and the stew, so they came out plated and served in half portions which was nice of the kitchen staff to do.

I don't think this is a must get. I liked the flavors otherwise. The octopus was one of my favorites. I loved the sauce for it and the jalapeños were a nice touch! The service is great here; they even took a napkin that was hung on my chair and folded it neatly onto the table again. Just be aware that overnight valet parking is $70 before taxes and gratuity. Check-in was a bit underwhelming. There were four front desk agents, but no one acknowledged us while we waited in line, and the process felt slower than expected. We were offered a glass of champagne during check-in, which was a nice touch, but the front desk agent didn't explain any of the resort amenities or what was included with the resort fee. We later noticed complimentary bikes available in front of the hotel, which would have been fun to use had we known about them. Our room was beautiful and located on the fifth floor with a lovely view overlooking the golf course. It was peaceful, comfortable, and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, the in-room dining was disappointing. We ordered the linguine with clams, salmon with vegetables, two bowls of clam chowder, and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The salmon portion was very small and lacked flavor. The clam chowder was overly salty and had very little flavor beyond the salt, making it difficult to finish. The linguine had only a handful of clams, and the noodles were also overly salty. Even the ice cream arrived partially melted because there wasn't enough ice to keep it cold. Overall, the food was just average, which is about what I'd expect from typical hotel room service. Despite the disappointing dining experience, we still enjoyed our stay. The property itself is beautiful, the room was excellent, and the staff we interacted with outside of check-in were friendly. I would absolutely return, but next time I'd skip the in-room dining and instead order Door Dash or dine at one of the many great restaurants in Half Moon Bay, where you'll likely find better food and better value.
