****beware**** Mullins WITHOUT A DOUBT , dilutes or water-downs their alcohol. We sat at the bar and ordered an old fashioned. Suspecting something was "off" about the drink, we proceeded to say it tasted watered down. Originally hailing from kentucky, my wife and I have a nose for the brown nectar of the gods. Suffice to say they didn't believe us though other patrons at the bar thought the same thing . More to come .... Stay away

This restaurant is right in Ritz Carlton's zone so you'd have to let the guy in the parking lot know you're heading here and they'll let you through. Got here around 11:30, and it was pretty empty but it got busy in about an hour. Service: 5/10. The waiters here are nice but they're definitely not attentive. We had to walk up to them to ask for a table-- the waitress told us anywhere so we sat outside and asked her to wipe the table because it was wet... she said sure and never came back. A different server almost spilled water on us, and we ended up having to walk up to them and ask for our check and boxes. Food: 8/10. Fish sliders- The fish was cooked perfectly-- melted in our mouth and so so soft. Clam chowder- A little bit too salty, very little clams, and too many pieces of bacon. It was delicious though! Fried chicken sandwich- Generous serving. Chicken was fried to perfection and very tender. Tuna salad- SO good! Pretty sure tuna was house-made as it was fluffy and fresh. Vegetables served with this were also fresh and cut up into bite sized pieces. Mullin's Frito Misto- Calamari, prawns, and French fries. Wasn't too greasy, thank god. I could tell they were freshly fried as they were crispy on the outside and soft on the outside. We really liked how the French fries were seasoned! All 5 dishes were shared among 4 adults, and we still had leftovers. I would recommend this restaurant for their delicious bar food, but I wouldn't expect too much from in terms of service.

A casual spot with a lively vibe, perfect for a family or ladies lunch. Great service, full bar and the food is delicious. Lucky to have Mullins in my neighborhood.

You are allowed to order two items at a time during the 90 minute brunch portion. You then have 30 minutes for the dessert items, though the waiter did say we could order more brunch items during that time too. I maxed out during round 5. Round 1: The MARIN COUNTY CHEESE TASTING and the PAN SEARED SCALLOP. There were three types of cheese on the plate with some fig jam and some raisin bread. Everything was super tasty. Loved the fig jam. The scallop was very nicely cooked. Loved the truffle foam. It was supposedly polenta foam but it was very smooth and not grainy at all. Round 2: CAVATELLI and CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES. I think the pasta was my favorite meal of the day. It had a great truffle and parmesan flavor. Soft pasta. Yum. The pancakes were also delicious. Nice and fluffy with melted chocolate chips. I did hold the ricotta cream from it as I know I don't like it. Round 3: LOBSTER ROLL and WAGYU BEEF SLIDER. The lobster roll was tasty but messy. I don't like caviar so I had that held. The slider was very tasty. The sauce on it was a bit too BBQ-sauce flavor for me but overall not a bad bite. Round 4: I did the ORGANIC MAITAKE MUSHROOM and another scallop. The mushrooms were super flavorful. Loved the crispy rice puffs on them. Round 5: I just did on plate - the BELGIAN WAFFLES. I loved the waffles. Crispy outside, soft inside. Warm apples on top and a big dollop of whipped cream. Yum! Dessert: There were carrot cakes, coconut macaroons, strawberry shortcakes and a chocolate pistachio balls. I only add the carrot cake there and took the rest home for later. The staff was very good. Always taking away empty plates and refilling drinks and water. A splurge of a meal but worth it for good food and service.

It has a very limited menu and the kitchen is an old railroad caboose that is attached to a small enclosed shed where you order and has a few stools to eat inside, Outside they have several uncovered picnic tables in the corner of a parking lot. It is only open Thursday-Sunday 11:15 am to 4 pm. At the suggestion of the guy at the register I ordered the hamburger (which he said was the best you will ever eat) and had them add mushrooms to it. Their other specialty (other than the burger) is their mushroom sandwich. I also got their homemade potato chips and added a Diet Coke. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal to be served in a paper bag and then decided to sit inside on one of the stools. The burger is served on grilled square shaped sandwich bread and it was very good tasting. It wasn't a traditional burger with the shrooms, cheese, Dad's sauce, cheese, pickled onion and lettuce and fell apart by the time I was halfway thru it. It is definitely a knife and fork sandwich but I still enjoyed it. Also those homemade chips were also very good tasting. They had a (coating) on them and I can see why they are so popular. Yes this is a very good and unique type of place to eat. My only negative was the price. $16.25 for the burger, $5.50 for the potato chips and $3 for the can of Coke. With tax it was $26.65! But then this is California!

The crust was perfectly crispy and was flavorful as well. The venison did not taste gamey at all and was melt in your mouth tender, i really enjoyed this dish. Finally, I had the panna cotta as a dessert, which we confirmed with the restaurant was vegetarian without gelatin. We were lucky enough to sit facing the water, and having a live piano player during our visit made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere alone makes this place worth checking out. We ordered the peach burrata, corn bisque, Oysters Rockefeller, steak frites, and mango crème brûlée. The peach burrata and corn bisque were great, and the steak was cooked and prepared really well. I normally don't use sauce on my steaks, but this one felt like it was missing a little something. I would've loved a different sauce or accompaniment to bring everything together. The fries, however, were phenomenal, and the mango crème brûlée was a great way to finish the meal. The Oysters Rockefeller were probably the only real disappointment. They weren't bad, but we've definitely had better elsewhere, so they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. For drinks, we started with a dirty martini and the house Manhattan, then asked our server, Daniel, for a recommendation. He suggested the Old Fashioned, and that ended up being the winner of the night! We liked it enough to order a few more. Daniel was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout the evening. Between the oceanfront view, live piano, cocktails, food, and service, we had a really enjoyable first experience. Very great take on a japanese shokupan, we were hesitant at first, but it makes for a good appetizer 5:5 Warm Sesame Pancakes were like those mini sesame mochi pancakes at chinese dim sum, but the texture was slightly airy. The sauce to accompany it was unlike anything i've had, smoked trout, avocado and yuzu. The avocado was not over powering and the cream on top was whipped. Amazing pairing. 5/5 Sashimi of Kanpachi, japanese cucumber salad as the base and dressing with the kanpachi sashimi. I will say this was the weakest dish of the night. While still good, it was a bit too tart, it overpowered the other natural flavors. Fish was still very good, tender and not fishy, but again, over powered but all the tartness in the dish. 3/5 Yellowfin Tuna on sushi rice - this was a great shareable plate of upscale poke. The tuna was great, no fishy taste, perfectly seasoned and the smoked kira had an amazing pop of flavor. Very rich and decadent dish, absolutely loved the harmony of a slight smokey flavor to the nice rich, umami savoriness. 5/5 Crispy Caledonian Prawns - Absolute star of the night. We could not stop talking about these prawns. Big plump prawns, fried perfectly, where the prawn itself was not dry but the shell had a shatteringly crispy exterior definitely slightly coated with a starch to give it a nice crunch. The chili ramp sunomono was a great touch, not spicy at all but added a great touch of flavor that complimented the crispy prawns. Could devour plates of these! 6/5! Sword-Fish Katsu Style - A great take with sword fish, flakey but not overcooked, great thin crispy katsu. Accompanied by kumquat and cauliflower, helps cut down the greasiness. The sauce with it was a buttery tart sauce. This was a lot better where the tartness helped the fried fish. It was like eating a fried fish burger without the buns. I really enjoyed this one. 5/5 Lastly we ordered a softserve with peaches, shokupan croutons and a caramel dressing. We had to wait about 25 minutes just for the small softserve so we were a bit surprised as other dishes came out relatively quickly or in an orderly fashion. It still tasted great as a little small dessert but definitely was surprised by how long it took. 3/5 Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Ethel's and it definitely lives up to the standard it sets. I can't wait for other new dishes to try and come back in the future.
