I am basically going to echo what the other 2 posts say. I was promised delivery between 1-5 PM yesterday. I left a meeting early to get home and wait and wait and wait. I also had a friend come hang out, ready to help me assemble the item. No delivery. Turns out, it was never placed on the truck. They had called me the day before to confirm delivery. I spoke with 2 different people, including a supervisor, over 9 times that evening since the item is a bed frame and the mattress was being delivered the following morning, I really needed the bed frame. I was assured it would go out first thing and be at my house by 730am. Well, now it is 8 am and I have already spoken with 3 different people in the office and it might show up around 9 or 10am this morning. No apologies and when you ask to speak to a supervisor or manager, the response consistently is, "I will jot down a message and have them call you!" None of them seem to have direct lines or even names. I am totally frustrated and not even sure if it is really going to get here today at all! read more

We received a shipment through YRC last July. The driver/deliveryman was: rude, arrogant, abrasive, yelling, threatening, out-of-control, and had the wrong information. Don't use this company. Really. Under any circumstances. read more

It is worst experience with Yellow Freight ever. The shipment was arrived terminal on Thursday and called them on Thursday to make sure Friday delivery. But it did not get delivered until next Thursday after more than 10 phone calls. We were told everyday that shipment is out for delivery today but never show. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I made the mistake of ordering a desk from Overstock who apparently uses this company for shipping. The desk weighs 400 plus pounds, shipped in 3 boxes. They send a freight truck to deliver it, when the guy asks where I want it, I said just inside the front door. I knew he wasn't going to take it to the second floor. He tells me that, due to legal reasons, he can't deliver inside the home. Had I known this, I would never have even bothered having it delivered at all. Since it was threatening rain, I had him put it in the garage which is attached to the home so him coming inside the house would have been the same amount of effort. YRC Freight likes to strong arm customers. They gave me a 11-3 window during a weekday. Unfortunately I was unable to get home in time so they charged me a $75 re-delivery fee. Sales Rep was tone deaf and lacked a heart beat or let alone a heart. This company is horrible. read more

Should have read the reviews before using this joke of a service. $1250 to get a 150lb crate from one side of the US to the other. They did deliver it on time, so good job YRC you did what you are SUPPOSED TO DO CORRECTLY. However it gets worse, I am on hold with their claims department right now going on 20 MINS HOLD WTH?! what company in this day and age (besides the mafia aka the IRS) expects people to wait around on them. HIRE MORE PEOPLE! I made a claim that I was charged way too much, and they refunded me a whopping $12.50 out of the $1250.00 that I paid. This company is completely dishonest. Stay away. read more

This is absolutely the slowest LTL shipper I have ever worked with. 7 Business days from Vermont to Nebraska. And their customer service is terrible. They are now referred to in our company as HBT Freight. (Horse and Buggy Transportation) We will not use this company again. read more

I sent a compressor back that I did not need and the company wont refund me over 2k because I sent it back damaged. When they received it the compressor was completely wrapped in plastic!? YRC said they picked it up like that along with several scratches on it. I helped the guy load it on hes truck which was empty and he decided not to strap it to anything. Same thing as everyone else here. Ordered a table from Home Depot, they used these awful shippers (would never have ordered it with that if I had known), was told to be home sometime between 12-5 today, I called at 2, they told me 12-5 was all they could say, then I called at 4:30, they said wouldn't go out until Monday. Did not care that I had waited, couldn't tell me if it would *actually* go out Monday or not (it's Friday, so not sure what will happen Monday when I go to work and am not here to receive delivery) no one could answer any question for me--my options were to "leave a voicemail for the manager" or "call customer service and upgrade to guaranteed shipping", in which case "Maybe" they could "guarantee" for Monday. When I asked how they stayed in business the woman said "Yes, it's very hard". I would think so, with the worst customer service I have ever seen!! read more

I see by the other reviews on here I am not the only one who has multiple issues with this freight company. I schedule my shipments online and pay with a credit card. Then I receive invoices a week or so later with ridiculous charges such as "bumping" fees, which were explained as "the shipment is bumped up to the next weight class to give lower rates but there is a fee for doing so." I didn't ask for this to be done, nor does it save me money. It actually cost's me an additional $14.95 for no change in the price I already paid online. They also continue charging paper statement fees after multiple requests for electronic statements. The last conversation I had with our account rep, John Binotapa, regarding this matter he said "yes, I enrolled you in paperless billing but you have more than one account and only one is enrolled." First of all, I've never set up more than one account so I'm not sure why there is more than one in your system. Secondly, if I requested paperless billing and you show I have more than one account in your system, why would you only set one up for paperless and not the other? RIDICULOUS!! Then when the charges are disputed we are told "sorry, nothing we can do, this is valid charge". We've also scheduled shipments, and paid for them online, and no one ever showed up to pick up the freight. With our latest shipment, I scheduled on 10/31/17, the driver showed up 4:37pm without calling the contact on the form as requested and of course no one was at the dock to meet the driver. Then when I called customer service they said the driver was there but there was no one to meet him at the dock and he would go back the next day. I called the next morning to confirm and they read off a PRO number from a shipment back on 6/5/17. When I tried to explain to them that was not the correct PRO number for this shipment, the woman in customer service got extremely rude and argumentative with me. She finally conferenced in a man named Jay Krueger who said he would get this all corrected as they are unsure of how the driver got the wrong BOL. Jay was very kind and helpful. Then I received a bill for $184.00 for a "no show" on the first attempt to pick this up, another bill for the amount I already paid online for this shipment as well as a $15.00 "Corrected BOL" charge. I am working with Cindy Zuniga to get the payment credited to my account since we already paid for this and she said she will put in a request to waive the $15.00 fee and will get back with me. I spoke to someone else regarding the $184.00 charge and have been told there is nothing they can do because our customer "no showed" and the driver made a trip to pick up our freight and no one was there. I explained that no one was there because the driver did not call ahead of time as requested and our customer did not know when to be at the dock. I was told it is NOT standard practice for the driver to call ahead of time therefore this charge remains valid. Of course, the driver called my customer the next day at 2:30pm and let him know he'd be there in 30 mins. So I guess it's only standard practice not to call on some days and not on others? This is still in dispute... I've contacted our account rep, John Binotapa, each time we've received an invoice with erroneous charges and he is ZERO help. He previously referred me to management for further assistance (which has been no help either) and today when I received the invoice for the shipment I already paid for I contacted him again and he responded by telling me we discussed this yesterday and the charges are valid and there's nothing he can do. I responded and explained this is not the same invoice discussed yesterday with the "no show" charge, this is regarding an invoice for a payment I've already made and already sent him the payment confirmation for. He told me to contact customer service, he cannot help me. I then asked for contact info for someone in management and his reply was that he doesn't know anyone in management who would handle this. I find it extremely hard to believe that he doesn't know anyone in management that could assist me, especially when earlier this year he provided me with management contact information. I have had this person from "management" copied on every email I have sent our rep and she has read the emails but not once responded. YRC does not care about there customers or about providing excellent customer service. All there care about are adding miscellaneous charges to every single shipment we schedule and then telling us "there's nothing we can do, these charges are valid" when we call to dispute. I will NEVER use this freight company and will post this experience on every site I can find. The BBB is next to hear about this poor excuse of a freight company. read more

Zack at customer service basically just said "sorry about your luck...i have your product and I may get it to you in a few days". The Friday before Thanksgiving we receive a phone call notifying us the exercise bike we ordered from Costco will be delivered between 12-4 Monday or 12-4 on Tuesday "our choice" and someone needs to be home, Thursday is Thanksgiving and with one work day notice we can't be home (holiday makes it even more impossible as out of town). They inform us they will then be charging an 85 dollar a day "storage charge". In all my yrs. of having products delivered I never had such a negative experience. If they wanted to deliver on Monday call a week in advance and ask if I can be there (I may have been able to get someone there with some notice) or find out what days are possible for me. I work 4 ten hour days so off on Thursdays anytime on Thursdays would work. But to call on the Friday before thanksgiving when lots of folks go away and threatened to charge 85 dollars a day for not being there for delivery I never agreed too; feels like extortion. I will cancel order before I pay that, and am on phone to Costco now. read more

This company is the worst!!! I ordered a transmission and the company used this shipping company. I was told 2-3 business days for shipping. When I looked online to track the package the info stated that the package was in a neighboring town. I waited all day and no delivery. I called to find out the status of the packaged just to be told that the company has the paperwork but could not locate the package. I started asking questions about their scanning protocols and the rep got nasty so I asked for a manager hoping they would be able to shed some light on the situation. When the manager got on the phone she already had an attitude which just Irritated me more. She told me there was nothing she could do and that the company had to fill out a claims form because they couldn't find the package. She then went on to inform me that maybe it would show up overnight and then hung up on me. The next day I called at 10 am hoping that they located the transmission but nope. Online today they had the number of the trailer that it was on and said it was being shipped. So I told the rep that and she said they still can't locate the package. After going back and forth for almost 30 minutes I called the auto parts store who said they just got off the phone with YRC and was told that the package was being put on the truck for delivery as we speak. I told him that didn't sound right because I just got off the phone with the shipping manager who informed the package was still lost. I'm so aggravated they are telling me one thing, him another, and the paperwork is bogus. I don't understand how you could scan paperwork without a package. What's the point of having a tracking number if the item isn't there? read more

I seriously had the worst experience ever with this company. They were supposed to deliver a table as time critical. This is guaranteed. Yet, it didn't get to me the day it should have. Then, after they said I would get it two days later, and waiting from 12 to 5, it never showed up. They gave a very lame excuse. Finally, the next day, after I went on the war path, they sent it with a different carrier who was supposed to bring it into the house. YRC said they would pay for this service yet the new carrier had no instructions to do so. They are unprofessional and incompetent. That's being nice. read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible service. June 10, 2013 YRC schduled a delivery date and on the day of who would have known that we would be informed that the shipment was misplaced. The staff (Veronica) is so unprofessional keeps me on hold 30 to 40 minutes at a time and at the end of our conversation she was not helpful and same response let me call you back. Never do I receive a follow up call, I have to continue to follow up and same damn response NOTHING!!!!!! August 5, 2013 day of delivery my staff is following up every hour and we are told (oh your shipment should arrive) it wasn't until 4:00pm last night that we are told they couldn't find our shipment then at 4:45pm we were told they were short drivers and we would not be receiving our delivery. YRC then refers our delivery to American Liftgate for next day delivery and YRC fails to provide them with the workorder. It only gets worse. Veronica with YRC requests of me "Wizard Screens" our fax # so we provide it and you'll never guess I start to receive a fax incoming call on my CELL phone (multiple times) I guess I could go on and on and on but I think you get the point. This company is absolutely ridiculous and disorganized. I have been lied to about when my order is coming in. I have been asking multiple times a day as to why my order was not shipped when it needed to be. This is the second tie IN THE SAME WEEK as to where my order is and WHY it is sitting at the Charlotte terminal. Not even the terminal knows why it didn't ship out. You guys do not know anything about customer service or deliveries. If I could, I would give you 0 stars because that's what you deserve on deliveries and customer service. read more

Contrary to the previous reviews I had the most wonderful experience from start to finish from Canada to San Jose. One little glip was that I missed the phone call of arrival to the warehouse but they accepted this and changed the time of delivery AND the driver rolled the large bundle into my garage, thank goodness, it was over 200 lbs and I could not have managed otherwise. Seven boxes of furniture somehow got lost and no one could track them down. While speaking with the first representative (first of about four or five since I had to call seveal times throughout the tracking of these packages), I was informed that this "happens often." Someone finally tracked it down about a week later and set an appointment for delivery, which they of course missed. I called about it, and after being on hold for over 10 minutes, they got back on the line just to tell me they cannot locate our driver. I have to once again call back and check on them. Very poor service and will not use again. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I ordered two book shelves through a furniture company that offered FREE shipping. These bookshelves are boxed and around 50 lbs. each (I easily picked them up and put them in my truck). YRC placed (not strapped) the two 50 lb. boxes on a pallet so they could (with no prior warning or permission) up-charge to a $159 "lift gate service". This in it's self is fraudulent! But it gets worse! Instead of charging the furniture company, as they should, they created an invoice to charge my business (where the delivery was sent). My business did not order these, I did!! They have since sent my business to collections!!!! I am working with the furniture company to get this resolved. BE CAREFUL!!!! I work for an automotive dealership doing shipping and receiving. YRC is hands down the worst shipping company on the road, perhaps in the universe. We have packages marked fragile with plastic car parts that are worth hundreds of dollars show up looking like they took point storming the beach on Normandy. Damaged goods, packages that are busted open, clearly resealed or missing items is almost a regular occurrence. It's a good day if we get a driver who can speak clear enough to at least make out that they're speaking English and that doesn't bitch when I request to have damage notes put on the delivery slip. If I had a say in the matter, not only would I never do business with YRC for the rest of time, but I would disable all their vehicles to keep them from destroying peoples shipping dreams. read more

Only giving one star because I can't give 0. The absolute worst shipping company and customer service. Chose 2nd day air and confirmed with the rep twice (shipping from a conference to another conference, so, time sensitive). Not only did they not ship it 2nd day, they didn't even ship it air. Found out 4 days later that it was at the closest terminal....and it sat there for another 4 days. Every time I called to request delivery I was told "I don't know how the drivers will be loading the truck" and "our drivers start at different times every day." every customer service rep gave me a different story. A heat treater sent my 330 pound pallet of parts 70 miles using these guys and they charged over $700. I've sent exactly the same parts four times as far for less than half the price. COD charge was over $100 (UPS COD charge is $12). Outrageous. You are better off sending freight by taxi cab. read more

I shipped a large item from Las Vegas to northern MD and the company I used contracted out the shipping to YRC. All of my dealings with the other company were fantastic, but when it came time for YRC to deliver... in all senses of the word... they failed. It didn't help any that I was led to believe a Friday delivery would be no problem, then told by YRC that they "only have a lift gate truck on Thursdays." Now I don't know about you, but when I hear something like that from a company I have to wonder just who I'm dealing with. Clearly not experienced professionals with their own equipment! (I mean, seriously, what kind of shipping company doesn't have their own lift gate truck? Why would it only be available one day?) So this was strike one. Most of their other strikes were earned through utterly horrendous customer service. While arranging the delivery, the woman I spoke to came across as incompetent--unable to tell me exactly what was acceptable/required for a residential delivery. And after I paid extra for an "inside" delivery (just for my item to go into the garage, mind you, not even up or down any stairs or through any doorways), she had the gall to tell me I needed to help the driver with the delivery (which was not actually the case--but she clearly had no idea and instead of asking someone who would know, she gave me bad information). On top of that she was just generally unpleasant toward me. After the scheduled delivery, all hell broke loose. My shipment consisted of two palettes, and only one was delivered. All they could tell me was that yes, they could tell it was supposed to be 2 palettes, but they had no idea where the other one was. I called their customer support and was promised that the manager of the shipping hub would be notified and should be contacting me shortly. I waited and no one got back to me, so I finally got hold of the (Delaware) hub and the manager myself. He immediately tried passing me back to the woman I had spoken to previously, and I refused. I explained the situation to him, and instead of being apologetic or helpful in any way shape or form, he just told me in his best I-really-don't-give-a-**** voice that "Well, I guess we'll have to find it, then." (No ****, sherlock!) Frustrated, I told him what a terrible experience I was having and how upset I was with how I had been treated through this entire ordeal. Still no apology. I believe the only reason I ever got any sort of resolution is because I got the contracting company involved. Without them, I am convinced YRC would have ignored me and let my missing palette continue to sit in Nevada (it never made it out of Vegas...!) until I filed an insurance claim. I'm still not happy with how YRC handled this at all--still not a single apology on their part, or a refund or future discount or anything to make up for this--but at least my shipment did finally get here. I was mistreated and scammed out of money (the delivery service I paid for was a joke, not to mention I wouldn't have needed it if they could have delivered on Friday as planned instead of Thursdays only) along the way, though. Take note that if you look up YRC on the BBB, they have several complaints lodged against them (and I haven't even submitted my own yet...), some unresolved, and I am not the least bit surprised. Think twice before using this company! read more

The customer service at this company in Portland, OR is horrible. They scheduled a delivery. I changed my schedule to insure I would be home. They called and cancelled without any explanation. We rescheduled for the next week. When the shipment did not arrive I called YRS. They said it had been rescheduled to the afternoon. Nobody notified me. When I asked why, I got the run around. I was told to talk to the supervisor., Christi. She called me later in the day at a number I had told them I would not be available to answer instead of the number I asked her to use. I called back. No answer. After 3 messages to the supervisor's in the past 8 days, I have not had the courtesy of a response. Their rudeness in changing the appointments was a great inconvenience and time waster. I was a very disappointed today. I had a shipment picked up to deliever to my Calgary location, the supplier send us the dimension and weight for for a Carbon fiber lip for a car that weight 14lb. some how they said that was wrong, it was 45lb and charged me more. when the driver drop it off to us we asked him to please verify the weight and he said that is not 45lb. So he call dispatch and told them the situation, they said he doesn't know what he was talking about. So 1 they hired a guy that cant tell if he can't tell if he picked up 14lb or 45lb. 2 the guy that opperate the scale can't read. I called about this and everyone I talked to tells me to go screw myself. read more

Rearranged my schedule and waited all day in 95 degree, humid weather. No delivery by 4:30 and I was afraid the office would close at 5, so I called and was told it would be six o'clock. SHIP WITH YRC AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! They lost this 400lb pallet, over 10k worth of materials and never once tried to contact me, their customer to report a problem. 18 days after they lost it our customer called asking about the status of their delivery. That's when we discovered the problem. We initiated the claim thereafter. After two weeks of searching they still can't find the pallet they lost, even though we attached a label with the destination address on all 4 sides and now they are dragging their feet with the claim and will only and maybe pay a pittance of what its worth and only after making us wait between 30 and up to 120 days. My customer who is missing their product is not going to wait 30- 120 days to find out the status. This is strike two with this carrier and based on their handling of the situation I would suggest NEVER using YRC Freight and paying more for an alternative unless you are comfortable in loosing your shipments! read more

I ordered flooring from Home Depot and they used YRC in Hayward to ship it. They were supposed to deliver between 12-6pm, and delivered at 7pm. They would not bring the shipment up the driveway so it could be put in the garage, but instead left it on the sidewalk in the rain. I was at work and my 18 yr old son was at home and signed for it. It was 550 lbs of flooring, and thankfully my son was able to cart it up the driveway into the garage - something those wimpy truck drivers couldn't do. read more

YRC overstated the weight of my shipment by 50lbs at a cost to me of and additional $150 (some of which may have been broker fees).

YRC is the worst delivery service company that I have ever used in thirty two years of being in business. On top of the horrible service they offer, Randy the alleged manager at the Sun Valley location should be selling tacos where there is no skill required. He behaves as he own the place and does not really care about customers, he stated "there is absolutely nothing you can do about my job, I am union" are you serious??? YRC should really look into that if they care about staying in business. I can guarantee one thing, I will never ever give business to YRC after all these years in business. Over and over the same thing, late deliveries every time, damaged very often, no customer service and over and over will not deliver equipment claiming that they are short handed and we will just have to wait for them to deliver when ever they can squeeze us in. On top of that we are not able to pick up our equipment form them because they say we have to be there after 5:00 PM in order for some one to load it up. So let me get this straight, can not deliver on time, can not pick it up unless it's after hours other wise we have no choice. Worst customer service I've had in a very long time. My shipment arrived from MA to AZ 5 days after it was picked up and sat at their terminal from 7/21 until it was finally delivered today 7/26. If you try to contact the terminal, no one will pick up. I spent 10 minutes hitting random numbers on my key pad until someone finally picked up. They promised the skid would be delivered by 6:00 - 6:30 am, but it didn't arrive until 8:30. They held up our production crew, again. How does the skid arrive from 2,000+ miles across country in 5 days, but take 4 days to be delivered 2 miles away from the terminal where it's been parked for 5 days? read more
