The final design was beautiful, and we loved working with our vendor team. Unfortunately, our experience with Details Darling throughout the planning process did not meet our expectations. The biggest challenge was communication. Responses regularly took about a week, despite email being identified as the preferred method of communication, and we often had to send multiple follow-ups or text messages to receive answers. More concerning, these communication delays also affected our vendors. Our rental company repeatedly followed up on outstanding items because they were unable to get the information they needed, and I ultimately called them myself to apologize and reassure them that we valued their partnership. Our paper goods designer also contacted me directly on multiple occasions because they were not receiving timely responses from our planner. Accountability was another significant disappointment. We spoke with one of the owners during our initial consultation, but after signing our contract and submitting our deposit, we never heard from ownership again. In fact, after our deposit had been in their possession for several days, I had to reach out myself asking what the next steps were. Later, after raising serious concerns about our experience early in the planning process, there was still no outreach or involvement from ownership to understand our concerns or ensure our experience improved. That lack of leadership and accountability was disappointing. Throughout the planning process, we often felt like we were driving the work ourselves. We were the ones identifying ways to reduce costs while still achieving our design goals. Rather than acting as a strategic partner in balancing budget and design, we often found ourselves leading those conversations. We also experienced confusion with rental pricing that resulted in unnecessary time and effort to resolve. There were also several day-of execution issues that were disappointing, including our escort card display not being set up as designed, my veil not being steamed, music delays with our ceremony and reception entrance, limited coordination during family photos, meals that were promised to be saved for us never being delivered, and our cake still being rock hard because it had not been removed from refrigerator in time. None of these issues individually ruined our wedding day, but together they reflected a pattern of slow communication, limited accountability, and inconsistent execution. Looking back, we believe our wedding was as successful as it was because of our own preparation and the exceptional work of vendors we selected, none of which were on the recommended vendor list from our planner. We appreciate the time Monica invested in our wedding and her kindness. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend her or Details Darling's planning services to couples looking for a planner who will communicate proactively, advocate for their clients, and consistently follow through on commitments.

I excitedly emailed them through the website. 2 days passed with no response. I decided to copy the email from the website and send it directly. Mind you that I had called them in between these days only to get no one on the line. By the 3rd time I left a voicemail. A couple of days later someone finally responded to my email asking these questions about my wedding. I gladly responded within an hour of receiving the email. I asked if I could get a breakdown of services provided and general pricing. It's been over a week and a half since I sent that email. Still no response. It's been over 2 weeks since I initially reached out, but still no response. I didn't even get a phone call back from the initial voicemail I left. I understand that times might be busy, but if you can't even reply to a simple email or phone call, you probably should rethink how you treat the customer. If this is a preview of the type of service I would get if I hired this vendor, I would gladly pass. It's sad that I was referred by a friend who had great experiences and yet I was not treated in the same manner.

After we officially began working with JK Wedding Events, Jimmy, the founder, introduced us to our wedding coordinator, April Lee. In short: My Event Pros did a *good* job at my wedding. There were several issues, however, for the…read moreprice, they did accomplish many of the agreed-upon duties, but I can't recommend them whole-heartedly. We (husband and I) found them at a wedding expo and gave them our business because we figured it'd be easier to have 3 "parts" of the wedding (DJ, wedding coordinator, MC) coming from 1 business, to decrease the number of contact points (probably the biggest selling point). Leading up to the wedding, we would have calls with Erika (the wedding coordinator) about 1-2x/month to review details. It would be noted verbally and through the app that they request we fill out. I guess one of my mistakes was that I talked too much. In hindsight, we would ask her to state what the details were and I'd correct her if it was wrong. So, day of, one example that immediately set the tone unfortunately, was her asking me what color the dessert tablecloth would be. This was alarming because I had already filled out their app and sent a PDF with step-by-step details, in order of occurrence for the day. This document had information for everyone (eg. flowers, photo, DJ, MC). I also planned for florals to be organized in a certain manner amongst the tables and my florist informed me later that she attempted to alter my choices. I would also like to note that we (and some guests) felt that the MC was dressed too casually for the caliber of event, particularly because he was in the spotlight quite a bit. A suit would've been appropriate attire, not business casual. The biggest concern and sour memory of the wedding was a last-minute charge, which happened 24 hours beforehand. Our wedding party went through rehearsal with Erika and all was great. We then went to lunch. At the tail end of lunch, Alan called me to say that he was researching the venue and his trailer would not be fitting in the venue's parking structure. Because of this, he would need to rent a U-Haul and, of course, would need to charge me. To clarify: we completely understand charging of a rental unit for that reason. What absolutely appalled us was the fact that he informed me of this charge a literal 24 hours before contract event start time. I empathize with not having experience with every venue, but he knew he had a special trailer that would require additional accommodations. Therefore, research and big charges should have been made earlier; in my opinion, 2-4 weeks in advance at a minimum. At the end of the night, we let them know that they would unfortunately not be receiving a tip as the money we allocated had to compensate for the owner's poor planning. In the end, there were several details and decisions that were missed that impacted the big day. It is regrettable that when we think of the wedding, these are the top things that come up, instead of all the positive. If you are not a detail-oriented person, they will likely perform at a decent level for your needs.

We were nervous about having to bring in everything (lights, tables, dance floor, bar, chairs, ice, you name it!) to make our vision came to life, but Alison made sure we didn't forget a single thing. On top of planning, Alison designed our entire wedding - from the invites, to the table settings, to our neon sign! We gave pretty vague descriptions about what we wanted (bright, colorful, fun), but she somehow knew exactly what we meant. On the actual wedding day, everything went SO smoothly...
