I have been to Yu Noodle around 4 times in the last two months with my parents, because they love this place a lot. It is fairly priced, ranging from $9 soup dumplings to a hearty bowl of soup for $11, and it is quick and easy place to go to for a lunch or casual dinner. You can't go wrong with their Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup or Chonqing Noodles. Their cold noodles are refreshing in the summer and have a great sesame taste. Be wary of the intestine noodles if you are not used to eating intestine as it was something I could not finish entirely. Their soup dumplings do take longer to come out than their noodle and rice dishes, but they always come out mouth-scorching hot and fresh. I have been really excited to try Yu Noodles since it opened at the "Kmart" plaza in Herndon. Parking is no issue since it is a huge parking lot for the many businesses in the plaza. There were 3 of us and we ordered for starters the pan fried pork buns. 4 pieces are on one order and they were so delicious. Hot and juicy on the inside and so fulfilling. Our main entrees were: Hot and sour foon soup Sichuan Beef noodle soup Yubin Spicy dry noodle All dishes were great. My hot and sour soup had a very interesting broth. Very complex with a kind of burned taste. A good thing. The peanuts were also a great addition. The Sichuan noodle soup had some great pieces of beef. Only one piece had gristle which I abhor. The cucumber ice water was very refreshing and we drank two pitchers. My only complaint was my wife told me not to blow my nose at the table. Oops... Great prices and very fresh tasting food. It is just fine, not worth drivling more than 15 mins to try this place. The amount of fat they put inside the bun is a bit excessive, and there isn't much flavor, just chewiness. Scallion Pancake is crispy which is fine. The pork chop is ok, the flavor is the not marinade long enough. Also the noodle soup is a bit surprising; they made it with a milky base, and it doesn't taste like an authentic Chinese-style soup. The sour pickles fish rice noodles is alright. read more

It was beefy and hearty. The noodles had were thin and firm/bouncy. Personally, I would've preferred thicker hand pulled noodles for this dish. - Intestine noodle soup: 4/5 The broth felt similar to the beef noodle soup so I enjoyed that. The intestine pieces were very tender and the bok choy helped balance the oils in the soup. - Intestine over rice with poached egg: 3/5 I will say this was my least favorite out of the bunch, but it wasn't entirely bad! The pieces of intestines were tender and I loved the pickled veggies on the side. However, my egg was over cooked and the yolk was hard, but the menu said "poached." I was introduced to this restaurant by my parents, who are notoriously picky about the types of Asian restaurants they go to, and I can see why they approve of this one! Yu Noodle specializes in Chongqing noodles, and they do it well with reasonable portions and a great taste that's not too spicy which is great for those who are just discovering Chongqing cuisine for the first time. The decor and set up of this place surprised me because it's clean and welcoming (which sometimes good hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants aren't great at). I absolutely love this place. I recommend coming with a small group of friends and trying everything on the menu. A good place to start is with the cucumbers which serve as a good public cleanser between dishes. A cold noodles with shrimp is light but flavorful and filling. I really wish there was a way to give 1/2 stars for reviews because I seriously feel like Yu Noodles is better than 3 stars but not 4 stars and this is solely based on the food. I wanted to LOVE the food so much because I mean the menu and the look and feel of the place screams authentic noodle bar, however, the beef noodle soup I had was B-L-A-N-D, the beef was tough and the soup was not spicy at all when it was indicated as being a spicy item both by the menu and by the waitress. The saving grace of the meal were the cucumbers in garlic sauce ... absolutely delightful and tasty tasty tasty! I ate the entire bowl and wanted more. The ambiance and decor is cute and the service was decent (not stellar when it should have been because I was 1 of 3 people in the restaurant) ... so, based on all of the above, 3 stars is what this experience was and I'm not sure if I'll be back ... unless I have a soup dumpling craving because that seems to be what everyone orders . My friends and I decided to try Yu Noodles in Herndon on our way to Leesburg, and it did not disappoint! We ordered a variety of things to share: beef noodle soup, wonton in hot chili oil, chicken mushroom and pork and chive dumplings, golden cabbage, peppercorn spicy pork soup dumplings, potato tower with cheese, and cucumber in garlic sauce. Wow, what a feast!! Everything was pretty good and we felt like we were able to get a good assortment of everything. We were most intrigued by the golden cabbage dish - it was like it was smothered in the dressing sauce that accompany those salads before sushi, and I was a big fan! I went as a large group, so we were able to do some family style eating and order lots of food and share. First off, the place is beautifully decorated and very clean! Unlike so many Asian joints I've been to where the restrooms aren't that clean, where they have poor attention to detail, etc... this place isn't like that... this place was clean and nicely kept up! The service was excellent too! Our multiple serveres were always there to help us and on the one instance when there was an issue with something brought to us, they quickly fixed it, without us having to explain. As for the menu... so many interesting, authentic items... Mostly soups, noodles and dumpling style items. We tried a little bit of everything and loved just about everything we tried. The cucumbers were the best I've ever had, and I order them from every Chinese restaurant I visit, if they're on the menu. Their soup dumplings were really good as well! It hurts me to write this review as I love Taiwanese food and I'm also a business owner. I will say their noodles are delicious. But only dine in if you plan on ordering here. DO NOT ORDER TO GO. The online ordering system needs a lot of work. They don't seem to prioritize online orders at all. I ordered on their website 20 minutes before arriving. When I arrive, they somehow missed my order and blamed it on Wi-Fi issues. So they tell me it will take 10 minutes. I'm ok with that. 10 minutes roll by and I see they put a bag in the carry out shelf but don't let me know. Mind you, I'm literally sitting right in front of the cashier counter. And there was only 5-6 tables eating. Not busy at all. After another 10 minutes, the waiter finally sees my order and gives it to me. I tell her it was sitting there for 10 minutes and no one said anything to me. She apologizes but this is the SECOND TIME they mess up. Would have appreciated a partial refund or something in return for they error. Also, as I was sitting there, I overheard a table complain that their soup dumplings didn't have any soup. The waiter just says "oh really, I'm so sorry" then walks away. Does not offer to replace the dish or anything. read more

Yu noodles is a decent place in the DMV area to get some food Asian food. Their soup dumplings are great and the cucumber with garlic sauce are a must try. The duck was ok, it wasn't very crispy. Looking forward to a get together with friends on Jan16th. We had heard wonderful things about their food, however the smell was enough to gag you the minute we walked in at 11:00 ( opened). It was a horrific anticeptic smell . It was overpowering. I had to hold the napkin over my nose the entire time except when eating. Came here for dinner tonight with my boyfriend and a friend of his, because I'd heard that the soup dumplings here were amazing, and we wanted to check them out. We ordered the regular pork and the spicy ones and we all loved them both, but the spicy ones were our favorites. I also got the hot and sour foon soup and it was a huge portion with tons of protein (and peanuts in it, so beware in case you're allergic!) and noodles. I could finish it all and gave the rest to my boyfriend to finish (who also couldn't). I loved that they were able to alter the spiciness of it also, and it came out perfectly when I asked for it to be a medium level of spice.
