I said I would be going back to this amazing restaurant and I did 2 1/2 weeks later. It was even better this time I started off my meal with a white cosmopolitan which was made to perfection. Then once I got to my table, the complementary cinnamon donut bread with creamy spread was to die for. Of course you know I had to get charbroiled oysters once again and they were amazing. I also got the shrimp spring rolls and they came with a spicy sauce. that had just the right amount of kick. My dining companion did the $35 prefix brunch and got the banana foster pancakes, snapper almondine, and the Keylime pie and [[HIGHLIGHT]]because it was Sunday you know they had the jazz artist on deck, and he was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] snap his QR code to follow his journey and listen to his music

Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari and PassionFish Roll*

A first time customer to this restaurant in Reston and kind of disappointed with the service. Felt pretty biased by the female server who served our table. We realized we were pretty casually dressed and weren't there to eat a whole lot of food. So, we simply got the Passion Fish Roll (Raw Sushi BTW), a Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari, a Rockfish, a side of Sweet Potato Fries and Mac & Cheese. For our drinks, got a couple of Rum & Cokes and a Shirley Temple. The ambiance was pleasant for the most part, as we enjoyed the conversations and the food when each of the plates came out. Just that the service was kind of bias and rude. We could all feel that the waitress was kind of in a bad mood, maybe expecting us to order more dishes and drinks. Anyhow, we noticed the portions were kind of on the smaller side compared to the prices. But taste-wise, everything was pretty good. The Rum and Cokes were fine, a little pricey, but decent. Another thing we observed was that the server never asked us if we wanted more refills or dessert. After she saw that we were done with our food, she simply put the check on the table and that was that. We were full, but we still wanted more bread and drinks, so not sure why she felt like we were going to leave and ready to pay when we didn't even ask for the check, yet. Kind of rude and inconsiderate of her towards the customers, no??? We had to open a new tab after paying for the main one since she thought we were going to leave right away after having our entrees...

I really liked their attention to detail. when I made the reservation the day before I had added that we would be celebrating a anniversary and when we sat down, the menus were personalized with a happy anniversary on them, which I thought was very nice of them. I ordered the brunch that cost $35 and I thought that was a great price for an appetizer, entree and dessert. I ordered the banana foster pancakes, and I really liked the syrup that they added alongside the rest of the plate. I also ordered the blue crab hash and that was pretty good as well not pictured is the chocolate mousse bomb for dessert and I thoroughly enjoyed that dessert the mousse was made very well and I wish I had ordered another one.

I'd actually give 3,5 stars. Overall impression: the place is a bit overrated. The food is fine, but not to the point of price/quality match. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice ambiance, friendly and polite staff, but there is a room for improvement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sushi tower was a complete joke, I apologize. Even in a simple sushi plece around the corner the plating looks much better... Seriously, I'm not asking to cut a swan of the reddish, but at least make it look nicer

we were 8 of us . Friday early evening . Delicious super tasty food . Fried fish , Mussels in red curry sauce , sliders, Nachos with crab and shrimp, blackened tacos plus salad with beets . Their drinks were the best . I loved my Moscow mule .Chardonnay was very smooth too . Will be back again .

Restaurant week was extended and was an excellent venue to have my wife 54th birthday. The food was as always delicious and service outstanding and very attentive

Came in here for dinner while I was in town for a cybersecurity conference. Walked in about 6pm on a Sunday, and we were seated very quickly. I had my service dog with me and the host at the door was very polite about asking me the questions they are allowed to ask, and didn't make a big deal of it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was very contemporary and intimate, low lighting, well decorated, and I like how they have an ice island in the middle with some of their fresh seafood displayed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now, on to the part that matters, the food. Passionfish Flys their seafood in fresh daily and it's incredible quality. I got the Toro tuna sashimi appetizer and the fish almost literally melted in my mouth it was so tender. For my main course I got their sushi tower, and all of the fish on it was also divine. Very happy I stopped in and im definitely going again next time im in town

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the huge mermaid in the bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice bar and great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lovely happy hour menu with small bites and drink specials. The $7 Hurricane will blow you away! lol. Good stop in Reston Town Center

I used to enjoy their Bethesda location until it closed. It was a solid place. Came here with friends after a fiasco at another restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the decor and layout. Fresh fish on display adds to the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We all went light on the food. Char broiled oysters, gumbo, and calamari. All were so so. Gumbo lacked salt and any strong flavor. My friend who cooks said the rue wasn't right. Comments about the calamari were mmmm ok. Likewise for the oysters, bit they were pretty. I think everything needed more seasoning.

My friend and I came here for a birthday dinner and had a great experience! Our waiter was extremely friendly and service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance inside is very nice- elegant & modern. The subtle blue lighting makes it feel very oceany lol[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the harissa Spanish glazed octopus as an appetizer which was delicious. The octopus was very well cooked and tender. I was surprised how well the octopus and hummus worked together. I would definitely get this again. The Szechuan Eggplant and Szechuan long beans were both great side dishes. Flavorful, well cooked, and a very decent portion size. We got sushi as our entree which was great. Fish and all the ingredients were extremely fresh and the ratio of rice in the roll was perfect. Since I was here for a birthday, the restaurant provided a dessert on the house which was very nice! Thé crème brûle was delicious. Some of the best I've had in a long time. Overall I would 100% come back and highly recommend Passionfish. The perfect spot for a birthday dinner or to celebrate!

    Crab & Sweet Corn Chowder

Bread service was one of the best complementary bread I've had, super buttery and soft. We did not get a refill tho so not sure if it's unlimited. Ordered the volcano roll, hoped for slightly more crunch on the shrimp tempura so wasn't the best sushi I've had but most certainly wasn't bad. Corn chowder was the perfect amount of sweetness plus seafood hint, but for $12 I was hoping for a slightly bigger portion. Rainbow trout and Mac n jack came together as an entree, generous portion and was perfect amount to share between my fiancé and I. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating but we came on a Saturday and even though Google says they open at 4, we had to wait until 5 to get seated at the dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not the biggest deal as the weather was nice and we got to walk around RTC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Seafood mid to high end menus priced comparably to that at Eddie Vs but with quality servers. Our server was professional and provided high end service. Kodus on that, in particular! Beautifully arranged but packed dining room. Our table could have not have been the best and preferable by the window, and, in which I had vantage (240) point of the dining room. As I looked around the room, it was full of business suits and dinner attire guests give off yuppy vibe. And the staff all seemed professional working in symphonic harmony. I could tell there was this nicely suited gentleman who I presumed was the dining room manager or the very manager but he did not acknowledged us being the first guests that checked in at start of dinner time. Also reminded me of the lukewarm reception at the bar when we had a drink prior to dinner. Yet, I like the resto vibe! Food was great and more than good and equated with the pricing. Still, all in all a solid 4! I would have given 5 stars but if you know me, taking a point from almost perfection always mean-place missed the most I valued most in dining out- it was not our waiter in fact he garnered the most points in my view... take a guess?

    Char - Grilled Swordfish

Honestly, not a bad spot at all. My boyfriend and I decided to try this spontaneously. We didn't make a reservation but they had availability. We got seated right away. The decor and ambiance is elegant and nice. The swordfish and the volcano roll was good. I also was able to order the gumbo as a side and Mac and Cheese. The service was good and fairly quick. I'd go back and try some of the other menu items. It's a great seafood spot. They also host private events.

We ultimately enjoyed our meal and will likely try it again the next time we need a change of pace from our go-to spot. The menu possesses a vast array of rolls, the majority of which hover between $15-18. Seeing the prices of the rolls and not knowing what to expect, we ended up ordering six, which ended up as too much food for the two of us. We found the rolls all well constructed and with generous quantities of the fish. The rice itself was passable. The sliced fish quality was decent, and we found the salmon and tuna particularly fresh. The "spicy" fish in the rolls left something to be desired in both the degree of spice/seasoning as well as freshness. The rolls all could have used a bit more saucing, but we enjoyed them nonetheless. The prices here are very reasonable, especially if you order online which yields a 10% discount. My order was prepared more or less on time. Overall, we liked what we sampled and will return in the near future to sample more rolls. Kumo does not quite supplant our usual sushi spot, but it's a welcome addition to a takeout rotation and worth a shot for roll lovers.

The sushi was actually pretty affordable and decent in size--so refreshing to see since most places charge $18 & up for specialty roles. If that wasn't the icing on the cake, the service was just above & beyond... waitress constantly checked up on us and even struck a lil convo. Witnessing her water the plants from the distance we could really tell she cared about the restaurant (could be the owner tbh). I've been visiting the Nova area to find a good Japanese restaurant, but this one is lower than average to be honest. Sushi rice was undercooked and hard, which kills good quality sushi. In my opinion, this is the most crucial aspect for Japanese restaurants. The arrangement was okay, but they knew how to prepare the fish, but the quality was not good. We all experience inflation and shrinkage, but you should choose quality seafood. For about $30 per dish and fish, I'd rather go to a sushi buffet near me that costs $27 per person. I might give it another shot and see how it goes.
