We had dinner at Yu-Or-Mi Sushi inside Durango Casino on a Wednesday evening with my family. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy, we still waited about 5-9 minutes before being seated. It wasn't a major issue, but with several open tables, we expected to be seated a little sooner. The restaurant has a modern atmosphere, and since it's still relatively new, the bar area, furniture, and overall décor look fresh and inviting. One thing that caught my attention, however, was some visible trash on the dining room floor. It's a small detail, but keeping the dining area spotless goes a long way in creating a better first impression. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow. After being seated, it took quite a while before our server came to take our order. Once the food was in, everything arrived at a reasonable pace, and the staff remained friendly throughout our visit. Here's what we ordered: Calamari Tempura - 5/5 Crispy, light, and perfectly seasoned. One of the best appetizers we had that evening. Hibachi Ribeye Steak - 4/5 Cooked medium well exactly as requested. The steak was tender, and the sauce paired well with it. It was enjoyable, although the flavor could be a little more distinctive. Chicken Teriyaki - 5/5 Juicy, flavorful, and served in a generous portion. Great value for the price. Yakisoba - 5/5 Packed with flavor, perfectly cooked noodles, and a great balance of ingredients. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Baked My Day Roll - 5/5 Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every bite was delicious, and this roll is an easy recommendation. Overall, the food was the highlight of our visit. Most of the dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned. The restaurant has a lot of potential and is already a nice addition to Durango Casino. There are still a few areas where they could improve. Faster greeting and order-taking would make guests feel more welcomed, especially during slower evenings. Paying closer attention to the cleanliness of the dining room floor would also enhance the overall experience. I'd also love to see the menu continue to grow with more specialty sushi rolls, seasonal chef's specials, premium sashimi selections, additional hibachi entrées, and more vegetarian and seafood options. An expanded dessert selection would also be a great finishing touch. Overall, I enjoyed our family dinner and would definitely return. With a few improvements in service, cleanliness, and continued additions to the menu, Yu-Or-Mi Sushi has the potential to become one of the top Japanese dining spots inside Durango Casino. If it weren't for the sounds of the casino, I wouldn't have known I was in one. Our server was attentive and fun. We ordered the roulette roll -one of hubby's favorites Yellowtail and oshinko-nice reprieve from the heat of the roulette Jumbo shrimp fried rice - there was nothing jumbo about the shrimp. Had a bad experience with their neighbor Ai Pono Cafe closing 25 minutes earlier than their closing time. Decided to stop by for a Teriyaki Chicken plate as i still wanted something to eat, albeit a late dinner. I sat outside in the general food court seating area and watched the front of house gentlemen repeat multiple times to customers of their hours, which was that they closed at 9:30pm but ALWAYS offered to take a to-go order. After my food was ready, he was still taking orders. it's 9:36pm currently, and I spoke to him asking why he's taking orders still and of course they still offered a few orders to be taken as they took into account the FIFA game ending late and that some people may still be wanting something to eat and they understood that. The Durango Casino has a food court area with a variety of restaurants to choose from. From Chinese noddles, Hawaiian, Pizza, to Sushi. The Sushi restaurant Yu or Mi Sushi is a sit down restaurant (although you can order to go!) that offers a wide selection of sushi rolls, capriccio, salads, appetizers, you name it! I decided to eat here while my family ate next door-- I wasn't in the mood for carbs. I was seated at the sushi bar and the waitress was so friendly and kind, she made my dining experience extra nice because of how accommodating she was. I ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Sashimi Ikura, Ceviche Roll, and a Sashimi Salad. I had a huge appetite so I was in the mood to EAT and boy did I. The Brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy, seasoned sweet and not overly salty. The toasted sliced almonds were addicting and there were a good amount. The Ikura was fresh and it was served in a lemon (so cute) because I ordered it Sashimi style. I added it as a topping for my sushi. The ceviche roll was a no rice roll and filled with fresh sashimi. Thick chunks of yellowtail and salmon yum! The cucmber wrap was sturdy and I appreciate that the sushi didn't fall apart when I picked it up with chopsticks. The sashimi salad came last and by that point I felt like I was living life with all these dishes surrounding me! For $20, the sashimi salad was huge!! Fresh thin cut pieces of romaine, bright avocado chunks, scoops of salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. I was full by the time I ate half of the salad that I had to pack the rest to go. For someone who dined here by myself, I recommend Yu or Mi Sushi to anyone! As I continue to try the restaurants in the Eat Your Heart Out food court at Durango Station, I came for an early dinner to Yu-Or-Mi Sushi. For sushi, I'd normally go to one of the local places with which I am familiar. After looking at the menu, I decided to try something different. For a starter, I ordered the mushroom miso soup. The mushrooms were served on the side so I could add as much as I wanted while eating the soup. For the main course, I had to try the uni crab pasta. The menu lists it this way--uni cream sauce, blue crab, garlic, and udon noodles. The miso was one of the best day I've had. Lots of flavor and the mushrooms added to it. The uni crab pasta was very good, also. I would have liked more than one piece of uni but I know the cost of uni. There was a fair amount of crab. The creamy uni pasta was perfectly cooked. I finished with a piece of yuzu cheesecake. Light and airy, it was a good finish. Euel was my server and he was on top of things. They actually had the same music as the casino playing which was interesting as they were bopping to disco which is not normal when eating sushi. The food was all good. Our sever was very attentive and great at keeping our water and drink is stocked. She also was good at helping us with food questions. One example is with the sweet shrimp we ordered. It came out with fried heads - we had no idea if we were supposed to eat these or not. Our server came to our rescue and showed us what to do. We also ordered the soft shell crab fried rice, the Durango roll, the Hawaiian roll, beef tataki, and Totoro. The rolls were all good with lots of meat and less rice - what I would expect from their prices. I really loved the Totoro and tataki- although they were pricey, they tasted amazing. I stopped in after a charity event at Bel-Air, excited to finally try this place for sake and a light bite. I sat at the bar, greeted the staff politely, and was told someone would be with me. No water, no menu, no real acknowledgment. The place wasn't busy. There was only one other couple when I walked in, and a staff member standing behind the bar who could have easily handed me a menu or offered water, but didn't. I waited. And kept waiting. A couple walked in behind me and the woman even complimented my outfit. She acknowledged me more than the staff did. They were seated and served right away while I was still sitting there waiting. Then two more couples came in and were also seated and served before me. Meanwhile, I sat at the bar, completely ignored the entire time. After waiting far longer than I should have, I finally said something along the lines of, "So everyone else can come in and get served, but I'm still waiting?" and still received no real acknowledgment. I tried had this place twice and I can confirm the food has been good both times. I love that they offer plenty of vegan options with the sushi rolls, appetizers, and sides. This is the second location for their downtown spot and one of three restaurants inside the food hall that has its own seating area. Items are priced higher than their original spot since it's located inside a casino but you can use your dining credit. Noise level is a little too loud for me with the casino music blaring in the background. We came for a late lunch and were seated right away since the restaurant wasn't that busy. Our favorite items were the spicy tuna crispy rice, beef panang curry, and truffle crab fried rice. Although the server didn't ask when taking our order, the curry had the perfect spice level. Unfortunately, the drunken noodles were a little bland and the rice was undercooked. This is a good sushi spot located at the corner of the restaurant court in the Durango Casino/Hotel. The decor is bright, modern-Asian and very beautiful. We ate the bar and ordered an array of tuna sashimi, unagi and tako sushi. The fresh sushi is delicious. I started with a nicely seasoned miso soup loaded with tofu and a seaweed type plant. Originally I thought the order was simply a piece of tuna on crispy rice but to my surprise between the two was a nice spicy tuna mix. Their cocktails were also delicious and refreshing. Service was a little slow but the host and server were both very polite. Kimchi fried rice was bland outside of the char like flavor. I wouldn't recommend this item at all and the server recommended the crab fried rice when I asked her about the Kimchi fried rice $18 (I should have picked up on what she may have tried to hint). I thoroughly enjoyed the fatty like yellow tail tiradito $18. This dish wasn't spicy at all but it did have great flavor. I used to visit here weekly because they had gluten free options and were very friendly with great service. I recently went to eat and was informed that they had a new chef and I was told that the new chef would not accommodate my gluten allergy because he wanted to do things his way. I've recommended this place to so many people but this will be my last time coming here or referring anyone to this place. They even removed the crab fried rice from the menu, total disappointment. The service was decent, although we always had different servers checking on us and bringing things. We were not sure whom to ask if we needed something. There were a few errors, too. We were brought the wrong drink, and they confused one of our entree orders. They did correct the issues quickly, though. I had the lychee martini which was potent and very tasty. We tried the spicy tiger shrimp and both tropical tuna and Hawaiian tuna rolls. These were all very good. The Hawaiian was particularly tasty. I also had the beef sukiyaki bowl. This was decent with fairly tender beef, but the sauce itself was fairly bland. Overall, this was a fairly tasty meal (particularly the rolls) with some service missteps. The prices were also quite high for an off strip casino restaurant. We might be willing to give them another try, as the issues could just be growing pains for a very new establishment. read more

My friend got their Mi-Stake which is a witty name btw lol. It was tender and melts in the mouth. It was served in a sizzling plate, so you can cook it per the doneness you wanted. We also had their oysters which are seasoned perfectly and slurped easily. I got fatty tuna and salmon sashimi, I like the salmon over the fatty tuna, as it has this taste that don't agree with my palette. I think I had better. We also ordered Roulette Roll which is cool because it was called roulette as one of the sushi was prepared with extra spicy ingredient and you can play among your friends on betting who has the spiciest hahaha what are the odds!
