We had an amazing dinner! Did AYCE sushi and definitely wil be back. The GM was amazing, all the sushi was fresh! Highly recommend doing the ribs eye and beef and pork belly. Started with miso soup! Service was great! Ambiance was good. You can get 1/2 rolls as opposed to full rolls. They don't do sashimi just nigiri. I was surprised by their surf and turf roll! You can't go wrong they have buy one get one on sake. After 8pm the have discounted AYCE for 27.99 If you haven't been definitely need to go! They also do bogo on sake!!

Instead of the all you eat for $27 weeks opted for a la Carte lunch on a Saturday. The amigo tempura roll had too much cream cheese, felt like I was eating California roll. The premium spider roll was decent though not a lot of soft soft crab was noted. The Chung hua was ok, fish didn't taste too fresh. The maniac roll was tasteless Overall, it's not premium sushi. It was mid and edible.

So yummy! The service is fast and great! I wish they had more dipping sauces but they don't! I will rate this a 8/10!

Always a good choice for dinner! Our favorite sushi spot!! We like to go before 6p, as its a little quieter. We always get the best service! Give it a shot!

Wasn't much of a wait to get in, maybe five minutes Got seated and immediately started ordering off the all you can eat menu. Sushi was pretty fresh, waitress came around periodically to take any new orders. Overall a good experience

First timer !! This place had great quality nigiri. Their AYCE menu was so big with so many different options. A great place to take friends and family when they're visiting for sure

Not our first time here, but today's service was exceptional. David, our host/server, was very kind, accommodating, friendly, and patient. Our food did not disappoint. Everything came out quickly and quality is still amazing. Not too busy around 1pm, which makes it extra nice for our big family in a private room. Ended with dessert & can't wait to go back.

Assuming you coordinate your order(s) with your table and don't order rolls with a lot of rice, it's totally doable to get a great bang for your buck here! We ordered an array of items such as the nigiri, baked green mussels, oysters, edamame, mini udon, baked scallop roll, yakitori skewers, The Shit, Umami Special, and plenty more! Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. It helps a to have a server that's personable and attentive. We're so thankful for her taking such great care of us! Ending up on the waitlist (20+ min for a table) is almost a guarantee here, rest assured Umami is definitely worth it.

If you visit during weekends, expect at least an hour wait during peak hours. My personal favorites are the Lisa Lisa, Sexy Girl and garlic tuna nigiri. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!
