Been wanting to try this spot for awhile now. This was where I was hoping to eat at for my birthday. We were in town and so we finally checked it out. We made reservations on the Yelp waitlist and arrived on a Monday evening for dinner recently. 888 Japanese BBQ is located in a shopping center close to Chinatown in Las Vegas. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot surrounding the restaurant. The restaurant is fairly big as there are plenty of rooms with booths and yakiniku tables. An inviting bar with plenty of stools is to the right. The decor is culturally modern with dark walls. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is welcoming and bustling. We chose the B prime AYCE option along with a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Yamazaki Whisky. There were so many great options to choose from. Everything we ordered was so delicious. Some of the standout favorites we had were the Harami Miso, Prime Bistro Hangar Steak, Prime Fatty Rib, Beef Tongue, and the Miso Pork Belly. All the meats were so juicy, flavorful, and tender with every bite. The Prime fatty rib and Harami Miso just melts in your mouth. The tri sauce tray complemented the meat very well. Our drinks were refreshing. Overall we enjoyed our experience at 888 Japanese BBQ. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We appreciated the fun and family friendly atmosphere of cooking our own Japanese BBQ. Most of the food was high quality. The price point for all 3 of the premium AYCE options were fairly priced. We hope to be back with other family and friends next time we are in town.

I'm not gonna lie- I would probably have given a 3.5 stars but my boyfriend said he'd give it 4.5 stars, so splitting the difference and going with 4 stars. Good value, decent quality with a large variety. Service was 5 stars. Delicious sides and something to please everyone. There is a 90 min limit, and by the end of it, we were so full we prob wouldn't have been able to order more if we tried. S'mores were also included in the AYCE and a wonderful way to cap off the meal!

Really good ayce bbq + sushi options. They have three menus that you can choose from that varies from quality of meat and extra items you get. Our group went with the highest tier, which was $45.95pp. Honestly that is such a great deal for Kobe. Some items were limited to one per person, but it was a good amount. There was so much to the menu that it was so hard to order everything. We went back to our favorites, which were the kobe meats, beef tongue, and the waygu briskets. There were so many sushi rolls and all of them were a hit but they do fill you up quicker. Each order came with 4 pieces. The cocktails are great too. They have a slushi machine with options for your cocktails. My husband got the beer cocktail, which was half beer and half calpico slushi and it was yummy. Service was good. The server would come back multiple times to clear our table and ask if we wanted to order more. Love that you can put your name down on the waitlist and come closer to time. That definitely saves time, but you have to make sure you check it. Some time the wait was 3-4 hours! If you time it correctly, then it'll work out perfectly. Definitely will come back and maybe check out their other locations!

Found my new fav AYCE place in Vegas! The reviews really don't lie and the crazy wait outside constantly also don't lie. This place has high quality meats, wagyu& Kobe beef galore! On top of that there is also a great selection of premium sushi rolls and sashimi. They have 3 tiers but highest tier comes with all the premium meats, highly recommend! Aside from the amazing quality of meats and food, they are so incredibly efficient and nice here! All servers are amazing - shout out to Mia who was our server and was super nice, helpful & was always catering to our every need!

Starting it off with a few drinks ! Here we have the PINEAPPLE JUICE on the right and STRAWBERRY MOJITO on the left !

We came back AGAIN because we know the food is good , but unfortunately the service is still not what it once was . lol. What a shame. They forgot to bring our drinks this time. Then our server gave up towards the end and disappeared. Also, we told our server we never received our drinks, and asked to cancel them. But they still ended up on our bill. Might not come back. This is very sad. We come from Los Angeles.

Oh how I love this place I've never had a bad experience here. The only thing I could say is sometimes the wait times could be crazy so if you're in the area and you have something else to do stopping there first and put your name on the waitlist lol because sometimes they wait times are like an hour to an hour and a half They have different menus to pick from I've only ever gotten the most expensive I think it's like premium menu which comes with like Wago and some of the carpaccio's poke salad I'm not sure what kind of dressing they put on their poke salad but save the dressing because I like to dip my meat in that dressing and it's delicious !!!' the workers are always friendly. They come around very often. You don't have to wait a long time which is great. Me and my friends love this place we come here at least once a month minimum I highly recommend

I continued my birthday in Vegas! I've been wanting to try this spot, so I was glad this was the first spot on our trip. We chose the prime and it was only $33.95 per person! I just like getting the meats, but they also wanted the philly roll, green salad, spicy tuna roll, green roll, lobster roll, albacore crunchy roll, spicy cucumbers, cream cheese wonton, seaweed salad, king oyster mushroom, pineapple, kimchi, cheese fondue, miso soup, rice, pickle set, spring roll, and radish wrap. All of this was included in the price. For meats, we chose the filet mignon, kalbi, ribeye steak, beef belly tare, prime hanger, beef tongue. We were quite full at the end of our meal. Dessert was included! It was fun roasting s'mores on the grill.

Service from our server Gianna was great. Though early on it there was a 2 hour wait, where we waited and sat behind a table that was empty for an hour then finally being seated in the same table another hour later had me feeling a bit sour. The selection of meat and sides were all very good. Gianna was truly the saving grace. There really is something about a bad experience that can kill the flavor of the food.

We checked out 888 Japanese BBQ this past Saturday, a spot I discovered while picking up flooring for one of our remodeling projects across the street. The second I saw it, I knew I had to try it. A little tip before you go: make a reservation! We went around 4 PM without one and ended up waiting almost 5 hours. The good news? It was totally worth it. I love that they offer three different AYCE menu options. We chose Menu C, and everything we tried was delicious. Our server was attentive, gave great recommendations, and made the whole experience even better. The meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The udon soup was so comforting, the sides were delicious, and even dessert was a hit. There are so many items on the menu that I couldn't try everything, so I'll definitely be back. Next time, though, I'm making that reservation! "

By far one of the best Japanese bbq, other than Japan of course!! This place is the perfect spot to enjoy some tender meats, have some drinks, and have the most fresh sushi. I was pleasantly surprised that all the food came out pretty fast and that both the meat and sushi was good. Many times I'll go to places that have multiple options and usually one or the other is a miss. 888 is definitely one of the places that hits every market - food, service, and vibe!

Came here on a Friday for lunch with a group of 5. We arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line outside. We ended up waiting around 10 minutes after they opened to get seated. When we left the wait was around 2 hours, so heads up if you decide to eat here make sure you come early or expect a long wait! Our group decided to get the B menu. All the meat we ordered and sides were all high quality and delicious! Be careful with the sushi orders or you might fill yourself up too fast~. The server was really attentive and always came at the perfect times for us to reorder or ask for a grill change. A must try place if you are ever in Vegas!

Going to 888 Japanese BBQ was the highlight of my recent Vegas trip! I came here with some friends for Saturday to wind down after gambling at the Strip. PWe came in at opening so we could get seated immediately (the line can get long if you don't go early) There is plenty of parking space as well. The staff were very nice, delivered meat fast, and responsive. We got the AYCE Option B meal, which came with a great selection of delicious meat. The grill was powerful, and had some real heat to it. I liked the hanger steak, beef brisket, LA kalbi and the Prime Harami Miso. The meat definitely had good quality and was marinated well. Before we know it, my friends and I were finishing plate after plate. We left with full bellies and a happy faces. This place is a must try while you're in Vegas. I think it's a great value place for an AYCE JBBQ!

Ask the Community - 888 Japanese BBQ

Is the Kobe option worth the price?

    Yes

The ice cream shown is not included?

We were there last month and I brought it up to the server. He said to check in on Yelp for free ice cream. Should just include it like all the other AYCE in the area.

    All you can eat?

Yes. There are three tiers, different price per tier. 2nd is most popular. All tiers AYCE.

Hello is it possible you can dine with one person or you have to dine in more one person to eat at your restaurant?

Do you mean dine alone? Most AYCE requires two people. Never know unless you give them a call.

Do they have high chairs available?

    Yes.

    Is there a vegetarian price?

    No.

    Can we purchase gift cards?

I would like make 8 person reservation for tomorrow night 6:00 P.m.?

I was told to go on to the Yelp waitlist and put in how many people you have. They don't actually take reservations. 😐

Is the seafood wild caught or farm raised?

I do not see All You Can Eat menu? Is this place offering AYCE?

Yes. One of the best in town

Does everyone in your party have to get all you can eat?? Or can one person order differently?

It's AYCE only. Everyone at the table has to get the same price point. There are three AYCE prices to choose from, each price point comes with different offerings.…

Can we call them for a table for 7 to join the waitlist or do we have to go in person?

If you time it right, you can join the Yelp waitlist at 3ish. Put the max # of ppl and then in the note, put party if 7. If not, you will have to go there & put your name down. It is really good stuff there at 888!

    How much is the prime?

$44.95. Worth it in my opinion.

We've done the yelp waitlist, but it's usually for parties of 6 and fewer. if we have a party of 12, how do we go about joining the waitlist, since they don't take reservations?

You would have show up in person and make a reservation at the restaurant

How does the menu work? Say we go with the middle tier. Then we each pick how many items? 5? Do we all have to pick the same however many items or do we get different picks from that middle tier?

There can only be a certain amount of meats order at a time for the whole table. They allot you about 3-4 meats, 3-4 side dishes at a time for thr whole party. If each person order 5 for a party of 5, too many dishes at the table. PLUS, the gril is…

Do you offer kid pricing too? Can't find on your website.. thanks

    Kids are half price.

Can guest make reservations? Edit: the Owner replied below (thank you!), that the website Yelp links…

Please don’t email them. I called Yelp many times about this fraud website. It’s not our website. Please don’t deposit any money in the PayPal. If you have any questions, please call me. 702-480-6552

Can we enjoy any of the marinated meats without MSG (Monosodium glutamate?) My husband experienced a stroke with brain damage as a result of monosodium glutamate.

They're definitely seems to be some choices that come marinated. I would just get the non marinated and not dip into any sauces

How much does a kid charge?

According to their website: Angus – Adults: $24.95 (Kids ages 4-8 cost $14.95) Prime – Adults: $28.95…

How do you make a reservation ? I couldn't find anywhere on its website to make it as it was suggested on its website.

No reservations. First come first serve.

Katsu Ya Ton Ton is excellent. I made plans to meet a friend for lunch and wanted to try this place. Easy access from Durango just North of Warm Springs on the West side of the street. Ample parking, but the place itself (you can see from the photos) isn't large and they don't take reservations. We aimed to be there for 12:30P lunch figuring we'd just be the lunch crowd. I arrived a little early and they were already full up! The place is popular and with good reason. I added our part of 2 to the list and we waited maybe 10 minutes. So cute and authentic inside. Tables turned over fairly quickly. The staff is super friendly and efficient. They were there to guide and help us with menu choices and offer recommendations. I went with the pork katsu set that included soup, rice, piles of shredded cabbage, my main pork cutlet, and some pickles. The cabbage and soup is AYCE which was a nice offering though I didn't need it. I also got salmon poke with yuzu which was tart and so fresh. Recommended. My lunch date order Katsu Chicken Curry. The food is outstanding. Every bite elicited a "Mmm" from me as the soup broth was deep and savory. The pork was perfectly cooked, crispy outside, juicy and tender on the inside. I love the shredded cabbage. Their Katsu sauce is delicious and you get to grind your own sesame seeds which impart a crazy delicious, nutty texture. The Katsu Chicken Curry was also excellent. I would struggle next time to pick one over the other. There are plenty of places to find Katsu but none compare to Katsu Ya Ton Ton for perfecting this really tasty dish. Highly recommended!

One of these places is Gyu+ (or on Yelp, Gyu Plus), which offers a variety of Japanese sandos which are a unique offering in the US --- and even on the Vegas food scene. I arrived 3-minutes prior to opening, and (I assume) the worker was so kind and let us in --- even though the floor was still drying from a good mop. He explained to us the most popular items --- what was the best cost-effective option, etc. A great guy, tbh. We decided to get the Lulu Sando Box ($46.99), which comes with a variety of their favorite sandos: the steak sando, the spicy chicken katsu sando, and the egg sando. Individually, the total would be close to $50, so your roughly saving a dollar and some change per sandwich. Also, I had to get their Potato Chips. WHY? Because it had togarashi. I love togarashi (a Japanese chili powder) and rosemary as a unique flavor combination. While we waited for our order, the owner showed us the backroom of the restaurant which was gorgeous. It was decorated with beautiful artwork and cherry blossoms on the ceiling. He told us that on some evenings, it is used as a speak-easy which makes total sense. ON TO THE FOOD! Egg Sando - I'm sorry --- nothing to write home about! It was beautiful, but lacked any depth or real flavor. Needed more salt and personally, a bit of hot sauce. It was all creamy, without any "egg"-depth. Steak Sando - This was delicious and perfection medium rare. It might freak out some people on appearance, but it was tender and served beautifully. 9.5/10 Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando - DING DING DING! Winner! This sandwich --- even after a 10 min. car ride was still crunchy and satisfying to eat. The slaw that accompanied it paired wonderfully with the spice of the sandwich. All-in-all, it all worked! lastly, the Togarashi Potato Chips - Again, I may be biased but these chips were a specialty and were amazing. Loved them, would have order 2x if given the chance. Warning: It is heavy on the rosemary-side. All in all, service was amazing, ambiance was beautiful, and food an overall A- from the variety chosen! Definitely not a place to eat at everyday, but if you're passing thru Vegas, it is a must-try!
