Been wanting to try this spot for awhile now. This was where I was hoping to eat at for my birthday. We were in town and so we finally checked it out. We made reservations on the Yelp waitlist and arrived on a Monday evening for dinner recently. 888 Japanese BBQ is located in a shopping center close to Chinatown in Las Vegas. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot surrounding the restaurant. The restaurant is fairly big as there are plenty of rooms with booths and yakiniku tables. An inviting bar with plenty of stools is to the right. The decor is culturally modern with dark walls. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is welcoming and bustling. We chose the B prime AYCE option along with a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Yamazaki Whisky. There were so many great options to choose from. Everything we ordered was so delicious. Some of the standout favorites we had were the Harami Miso, Prime Bistro Hangar Steak, Prime Fatty Rib, Beef Tongue, and the Miso Pork Belly. All the meats were so juicy, flavorful, and tender with every bite. The Prime fatty rib and Harami Miso just melts in your mouth. The tri sauce tray complemented the meat very well. Our drinks were refreshing. Overall we enjoyed our experience at 888 Japanese BBQ. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I'm not gonna lie- I would probably have given a 3.5 stars but my boyfriend said he'd give it 4.5 stars, so splitting the difference and going with 4 stars. Good value, decent quality with a large variety. Service was 5 stars. Delicious sides and something to please everyone. There is a 90 min limit, and by the end of it, we were so full we prob wouldn't have been able to order more if we tried. Really good ayce bbq + sushi options. They have three menus that you can choose from that varies from quality of meat and extra items you get. Our group went with the highest tier, which was $45.95pp. Honestly that is such a great deal for Kobe. Some items were limited to one per person, but it was a good amount. There was so much to the menu that it was so hard to order everything. We went back to our favorites, which were the kobe meats, beef tongue, and the waygu briskets. There were so many sushi rolls and all of them were a hit but they do fill you up quicker. Each order came with 4 pieces. The cocktails are great too. They have a slushi machine with options for your cocktails. My husband got the beer cocktail, which was half beer and half calpico slushi and it was yummy. Service was good. The server would come back multiple times to clear our table and ask if we wanted to order more. Love that you can put your name down on the waitlist and come closer to time. Going to 888 Japanese BBQ was the highlight of my recent Vegas trip! I came here with some friends for Saturday to wind down after gambling at the Strip. PWe came in at opening so we could get seated immediately (the line can get long if you don't go early) There is plenty of parking space as well. The staff were very nice, delivered meat fast, and responsive. We got the AYCE Option B meal, which came with a great selection of delicious meat. The grill was powerful, and had some real heat to it. I liked the hanger steak, beef brisket, LA kalbi and the Prime Harami Miso. The meat definitely had good quality and was marinated well. Initially, I could not understand why this place had a 2-3 hour wait every single day. However, after experiencing it, I would like 888 to franchise in Canada, please. It's a crime that we don't have this type (and quality) of AYCE BBQ. The restaurant features 3 different tiers of AYCE. We selected the middle tier, which contained most cuts of meat, sushi, and various other side dishes. The selection is huge and diverse, and although there are limits on how many of the premium items you can order (such as steak cuts and snow crab), there are still many other options to choose from. It was hard not to get excited and go ballistic on the ordering. They have so many different types of rolls. The servers are very attentive and frequently come back to check on tables. Food is good, nothing crazy, but you can't ask for too much at an AYCE restaurant. Dessert featured s'mores and ice cream if diners checked in on Yelp (you know I did!!!). We enjoyed another great meal at 888 recently! Be advised, they are very busy. They often close their Yelp waitlist when it gets too full, so get on the waitlist early. They have several different dining areas, and it actually was not smokey inside at all despite numerous tables grilling! Do not miss their huge "ritas" which come in different flavors (mango, coconut, strawberry, others). An excellent choice particularly during hot weather. We had the "C" menu which is their top tier option and features Wagyu and Kobe options! There are many amazing choices on this menu, and only a couple of them are limited to one per person. My favorite - the prime kalbi. WOW! So tender with an amazing marinade. I also loved the Kobe beef which was amazingly tender and flavorful even though it is not marinated. Our server (I wish I could remember his name; it was unique) was new and was supervised by a more experienced server. He was very friendly but did forget a few times that we ordered. Not a big deal, though. They have a few dessert options. S'mores are included, but they also have ice cream (free with a Yelp check-in), macaron ice cream, and some cakes/cheesecakes. This AYCE Japanese BBQ is located inside a plaza so parking can be tough since it's shared amongst other businesses. However, it helps that the parking lot is pretty big! It's open daily 11:30-12am HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting onto the waitlist (using the Yelp app) at least 1-2 hours prior to arrival (especially on the weekends!) There are 3 different menu options: - Tier A: $28.95 - Tier B: $34.95 - Tier C: $45.95 Honestly, Tier A is a pretty good deal since it has a good variety of beef, chicken, pork, and sushi selections! However, I chose Tier B because I wanted more beef options and it definitely didn't disappoint! Tier C had the most premium meats (e.g. Kobe & Wagyu) but I was happy with choosing Tier B. However, I realize they were extremely busy so not a big deal! The Harami Miso was my favorite! It was prime beef that was so tender and juicy! (I think it was like 8-10 things can be ordered for the table per moment) Which sucked for me.. Because I was the only guy. So I let the two girls order first. None of us heard the limit part, so they ordered the stuff they wanted. By the time it was my turn to order, the waitress said I only had one item left. Wait, what?! So I had to wait till everyone gets their food before I can order mine. I mean, I get their reasoning and technically we probably should have planned that out better. But I was NOT a fan. When I do KBBQ, I like to order a buncha stuff, and you just can't do that here. The staff also seemed extremely stressed, in a hurry, and not the most hospitable. More like "hurry up and get out" vibes. It's a super busy place, so they have a lot to handle. I guess I get it too, but yet again... not a fan! The good however was great!! After that, we hit the grill with ribeye, New York steak, hanger steak, filet mignon, garlic, shrimp, and asparagus and zucchini. The meats were tender and flavorful, and the veggies were a perfect addition. We also had the kalbi, shrimp tempura, cream cheese wonton, and cold tofu, which were excellent.
