This is a great Ramen house with a lot of Japanese influence in the interior. With both single seats (just like they do in Japan for all you ramen snobs), and group seatings, once you enter wait for the host to direct you towards your seat. My favorite menu item has the be the shoyu ramen or the tan tan men ramen. The broth is rich and flavorful, which goes perfect with the noodles. I prefer thick noodles but thin noodles are good too. What a find! Stopped by on a Monday for lunch and this place is such a gem. There's a copy of the menu as you walk up and wait to be seated. However, if you're picking up an order make your way to the service window and someone will be out to help. I dined in and impressed by the options. Ordered the miso ramen and made it a combo with a side of karaage. Order came out quick enough, ramen piping hot with a marinated egg half. Came here while in the area and craving ramen! Yua is located in a strip mall with other Asian stores and restaurants, and may be hard to miss in between the shops, but was a pleasant visit! A great intimate interior and service was so friendly. I had the black garlic miso ramen - it was garlicky which I loved and just what I needed in terms of a hearty, warm broth. Although I wasn't aware of how long they've been around, I'm really glad we decided to give this restaurant a try! While at home, I came across Yua Ramen as a newish spot in Edmonds which had some useful Yelp posts already (8/27/19). I decided I needed some much needed sustenance after staying home today. Ramen and izakaya, no need to twist The Homie's arm to accompany me. Plus this spot had later hours than most, open until 2130. Yua Ramen is located in between T&T Seafood and 99 Ranch Market, in the former spot that had housed Arashi Ramen. I recalled dining at AR at least four times here and once in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, but simply preferred other ramen spots. It was a little after 2000, only another two top were dining. We were greeted warmly upon entering, seated, given menus and ice water. The Homie also had a hot green tea. The interior wasn't altered much from former AR decor, jazz background music overhead, and the occasional odd sound like knife sharpening from the kitchen. Onward! We ordered a Honey Garlic Chicken Karaage appetizer...came with a mini side of greens topped with sesame dressing. Served as nicely portioned pieces versus unwieldly large ones. The menu had a nice selection of other appetizers, but we were comparing this from other go to spots. The karaage held its own, very tasty and moist! Definitely fresh and not overcooked mcnugget-like. The Homie ordered the Black Garlic Ramen which came with a thicker noodle, chashu, egg, green onion, fried onion, but requested without bean sprouts. It was served piping hot, with an appreciated toothsome noodle, succulent chashu, jammy egg, and flavorful broth. Met with The Homie's approval. I was torn between the curry katsudon from the donburi menu section, but opted for the Shoyu Ramen, no alteration. This too had a piping hot, complex broth...thankfully not salty or overpowering. Just right. Same assessment as The Homie. Definitely next time will spring for more chashu and another egg. Very unassuming, but delicious components to my comforting bowl. Service was attentive but unobstrusive. Definitely we were kept well hydrated with ice water, none of that trendy tepid stuff. Granted we were the only remaining table 40 minutes later, so no surprise there. App plate was cleared except for a few salad remnants. Both ramen bowls were completely consumed of its tasty contents. Left satiated and not stuffed. Goldilocks just right. Yua Ramen is a great addition to the Asian restaurant choices along Highway 99. Convenient also for us northenders in Shoreline, Edmonds, Lake Forest Park, Mountlake Terrace, and Lynnwood. Free parking! A worthy visit if you have a rice bowl and/or ramen craving. read more

This is the absolute best ramen place I've been to. It's a medium-sized location, and the interior is nice, clean and relaxing, and the seating isn't too squished together. Their ramen selection is about a dozen choices, which is good because it's focused and the quality is consistent. They don't skimp on meat or eggs like some places do. The hostess is super nice, too. Their Miso Tonkotsu is really good, though all of their broths are tasty. Try the Okonomiyaki appetizer as well, it's great. I've been going here for years and I realized I never left a review. The place never seems bustling, which is surprising. They deserve as much business as they can get. They're also very affordable, especially for the quality. That's a rarity nowadays. Yua Ramen is a must try. Upon walking in, the restaurant's decor is simple and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was respectful of covid precautions (wearing masks) and we were seated as further away from other tables, as possible. The waitress was friendly and prompt. I ordered the gyoza (not pictured), the okonomiyaki, the honey garlic karaage, and the black garlic miso ramen. The gyoza was deep-fried (something I'm not used to with gyoza). It was simple, not too oily, and the filling was not dry. The honey garlic karaage was served with a little salad garnish. The honey garlic karaage was not as crispy as I would have liked it, however it was flavorful, moist, and perfectly cooked. The okonomiyaki was a standout. The Japanese cabbage pancake had an amazing crispy exterior (slightly charred, but it only added a smokier flavor to it, which I enjoyed) and a moist, delicious interior texture, with a balanced cabbage to batter ratio. It was topped with bonito, japanese Mayo, tonkatsu sauce, and nori, which enhanced the creamy pancake and provided sweet and umami notes in every bite. It was a pleasant surprise! Now, for the "popular" the black garlic miso ramen. I had it customized just slightly; I substituted the thick noodles (with thin noodles), added nori, and asked them to make it "spicy". All I can say is "WOW". The broth was thick, velvety, and strong (but not overwhelming) in its black garlic and pork flavor; the umami-ness was amazing. The black garlic provided this smoky, aged depth to the broth enhancing a delicious tonkatsu broth to the next level. The spice level was perfect, as it was not too spicy and provided an overall warming sensation to the palette. The charsu pork was slightly fatty, but that made it incredibly tender and it melted in my mouth. It was one of my favorite ramen bowls I've had in the PNW area and comparable to ramen I've had in Japan. The price was reasonable; for two bowls of ramen and three appetizers it was $55 dollars (with tax). I would definitely recommend Yua Ramen to anyone in the area and I'm looking forward to coming back. 4.5/5 read more

It's...okay. I saw some rave reviews and wanted to try it, but it didn't live up to the hype :/ Karaage 2* only six pieces, but they were medium sized. Very crispy (overfried?) and heavy breading, so not very karaage-like. Flavor was pretty bland as well. Not worth it in my opinion and I wouldn't get again. Black garlic miso ramen: 2.5* Noodles were good, the egg was perfectly cooked, the chasiu was flavorful, and there were a good amount fried onion (although they did melt into the broth pretty quickly and just sadly added a sort of burnt flavor) The issue was the broth, it was...sweet. First impression was almost like drinking essence of sesame candy. If you didn't get too much broth, the rest of the ingredients were okay, but ramen is all about the delicious broth! Basically, I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't get this again. Shoyu Tonkatsu ramen: 3* Again, the dry ingredients were all very good. The broth didn't have that deep Tonkatsu flavor I was expecting, or much shoyu flavor...it kinda tasted like a fish broth? Not sure why a soy sauce pork bone broth tasted of fish, but there you go. Yua Ramen got off to a rough start. However it is one of those rare restaurants that continues to improve. My last bowl of spicy ramen was as good as the previous restaurant that was her. Agi dashi dofu is as good as it gets, anywhere. Note if you click the top order food button you will be ordering through Grub Hub and paying higher prices. We ordered through DoorDash delivery. What's good: Packaging was neat and secure Half an egg was included in the ramen. No add-on needed. Cha-siu was good looking. Noodles was not soggy. What's not: The broth: this is the soul of ramen. I tried the Black Garlic Miso and Shoyu Tonkotsu. The Black Garlic Miso was lacking both garlic and miso flavors. It weirdly reminded me of sesame paste, but at the same time it wasn't creamy enough. I think it was missing aroma oil too. The Shoyu Tonkotsu was also liquidy and too bland; unfortunately I didn't taste a lot of bone broth either. The toppings were also average. It was missing menma and mushroom in the tonkotsu. Basically the bowl only had chasiu, egg, bean sprouts, and seaweed. The Garlic Miso also had fried shallot (?) but I wish there were fried garlic, if they wanted something extra. The noodles texture was okay. It wasn't bouncy enough and reminded me of spaghetti noodles. I think in Seattle area, the best noodles texture is Ooink in Capitol Hill. Apparently quite a few places close at 8:30 on the weekends ‍ We got there about 20 minutes to close, unbeknownst to us, and were greeted by a really nice lady. There was what could only be described as jazzy elevator music playing and it was actually very nice! Lovely even. My partner had a vegetarian ramen, his mom a rice dish (I can't remember), and I, the spicy tan tan men. We also got an egg roll order and edamame. Everything was so good! The noodles had a little bit of bite to them (Al dente) and the broth was rich and flavorful without being too greasy or salty! And they didn't rush us at all! We'll definitely be going back. Our family loves this new-found Ramen place! The wait staff is so graceful and friendly that it brings me back to our time in Japan! My favorite dish is the Black Garlic Miso Ramen - so rich and flavorful, not too salty. The pork slice (charsiu) has a good mix of fat and it just melts in your mouth, and the soft-boiled egg is cooked just right! My youngest teenage son loves the rice dishes, specifically the Katsu Curry and Katsu Don. The Katsu is nice and crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside; the curry is a thick curry that coats the chicken and doesn't water down to soak the rice beneath. And to top it off, the menu prices are super reasonable! The Garlic Ramen here is $4 cheaper than the Garlic Ramen at another favorite Ramen resto in Northgate. I went to Yua the first time tonight after it took over from Arashi earlier this year. Unfortunately, I would say Arashj was better. The ramen tasted decent, but it was salty and I do not have much to say about it. The flavor of the broth was not complexed enough for me. The pork belly slices were very thin. I am a 5 feet tall small female, even I did not feel quite full after having their standard size ramen bowl. We also tried the fried chicken, it was decent also, but nothing special either. I'm always itching for a good ramen bowl after having been in Japan a few times. It's sad Arashi Ramen had to change over but now we have this Yua Ramen! Decor is still pretty much the same, the menu is new. I ordered the Green Curry Ramen which comes with karaage in the bowl and it was sooo good. Fantastic first order. There's two mini wedges of lime that I squeezed in and I loved it. Good balance of curry flavor with a hint of spice, brightness from the lime, not too salty or thick of a broth. The noodles were thin, some corn kernels, and everything in the bowl went well with everything else. 10/10 on this ramen, I would definitely get it again. My mom got the black garlic ramen and it had quite a thick broth. She said some people actually get a cup of hot water and pour it in their ramen at some places and she was tempted to do that, but she just asked for some lime this time. Hopefully it isn't always that thick? It came with chashu pork and an egg in the side, and thicker yellow noodles (she says to only get the thinner noodle). Not as pleasant of a black garlic ramen as we would've liked. We also arrived at the same time as about 3-4 other people and thought that the ramen took quite some time to prepare, it was a noticeable wait since it was quiet. Just ordered this via DoorDash for the first time. Ordered two curry chicken ramen bowls and a tofu appetizer. The appetizer was actually good, very flavorful. Loved it. The ramen? Probably the worst I've ever had. I typically go to Muto in Lynnwood, but decided to try something different. This ramen was so bad. Noodles were undercooked, flavorless and the chicken was cold in the center. The chicken tasted like it was pre-cooked, frozen and maybe microwaved and thrown in the soup.
