This place is a hidden gem! I haven't found a better spot for Mongolian bbq in CO yet. Came here for the all-you-can-eat bbq and got upsold the scallion pancakes (delicious), but still left a happy camper. Having had a spot I swore by in California, I'm quite picky about my Mongolian bbq (the sauce, taste, process, etc). It gets busy in here, and we've experienced several family birthday celebrations, but there are always seats available. The ambiance is nothing to write home about. The lighting is low and a bit dark, but we've usually been able to snag seating at a booth. The service is fine, and they are usually pretty good about clearing your plates and bringing you the soup and rice quickly. You will need to pay up front when you are done with your meal! Let me preface this review with the fact we have been coming here for 20 years, it seems. When the older couple owned it, that was half the wonderful experience, with the other half being the food. We ALWAYS looked forward to eating there. And it was always packed! Lines waiting to get a table. Fast forward to last night. Things are different, food prep is different, service is different, none in a good way. I'll start with the hot and sour soup. Not spicy, not at all sour, no tofu, no pork pieces, barely any wood ear mushrooms, and a clear, overly gelatinous broth. It was awful. Next, the bowl. Always our individual go-to! The beef and lamb were no longer shaved thin. It was cut too thick, making it difficult to eat. I shouldn't need a knife and fork to cut the meat products. Vegetables were inconsistently cut, some cubes/chunks, some slivered veggies (preferred). Perhaps you have a new inexperienced prep person. Sauces. Stop watering down everything so that nothing has any flavor. Soy sauce was so bad I put 5 spoons full in my bowl and still needed more real soy sauce at the table. Ginger? What ginger? It was ginger water. Put the pulp back in so there is some flavor! Ok, so now we're ready to eat. Have you changed the rice to instant minute rice? Not sticky. Dried out. Yuck. I understand running a food business is difficult. Current times people are particular and expect good quality products. Things have definitely gone downhill. Thinking that you would be more profitable by changing your product is not going to make you successful. It's going to lose you your valuable, devoted customers. We will try it again, but if this is your new standard, you will lose us. Please go back to what worked so wonderfully for so many years. We miss the old neighborhood favorite. And kudos to your grill cook that's been there every time we've ever been in for dinner. He's never failed us and should be rewarded for his commitment. read more

My son absolutely loves this place. First you get some soup. Then you can go down the buffet line and get your bowl of pork, chicken, lamb, beef, turkey plus all the veggies and noodles. The man cooks over in the corner with his long stick in the grill so you can watch. The workers are very nice and friendly and accommodating. Plenty of seating inside. We ordered tea for the table which was a nice way to start our meal. To make your bowl, you essentially go to a buffet or salad bar with meats, veggies, noodles, and sauces to choose from. I love this place so much words cannot describe. I've been coming here for about 10 years and it's still my favorite restaurant of all time. My fiancé and I live in broomfield now, but we try to come at least once a month because it's so delicious. The staff are kind and welcoming. They always greet me with a smile, remember me, and genuinely seem glad to see me. It makes me happy every time I come in! The food from the menu and the buffet is always great. Also I hate being negative, but the bad reviews are kind of wild to me. I would also not be very happy if you took food from the buffet and then refused to pay. That's just... not okay? Possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Ever! The wonton soup was basically unflavored broth with chewy and tasteless wontons. The moo-shu pork wraps were greasy and fried to the point that they cracked when filled and were unusable. The staff was beyond unfriendly. Altogether a horrible dinner. Been coming since 1999 and found this to be the best Mongolian BBQ around. The exterior is deceiving. Seems like no one's inside - but there are and there's probably a line at the BBQ buffet. We've only ever had the BBQ single bowl. Make sure you smash down your protein to get the most out of your bowl. We'll keep coming back!! read more

Concerning... I love this place but.. The excellent egg roll recently seem to be the standard fair of food processor mush with a new york style heavy wrapper replacing the lighter earlier version. I would go in an eat 3 orders of eggroll and call it lunch. Not so much now. I raved earlier about the hot and sour soup but once again changed for the worst steep decline in the amount of tofu pork wood ear etc. Seems to much like the sub par PF Changes HSS. BBQ still is good as ever I just think the ancillary bits have slipped. Bowls mysteriously shrunk in size but that just par for the course. I mourn for the first decline in quality I have seen in 20 years of thier operation. Raise your prices if you must - dont compromise your product. This makes me sad read more

WOW - we were excited to have Mongolian BBQ and this was just bad. I guess I am used to something different. We had a date night and thought, can't be that bad... and for $20 each? The buffet counter was so small and wasn't very well stocked. Meat was tough. Mushrooms were canned. Pineapple were canned. No tomatoes or cilantro? They dropped my food right on top of where they just had made this gentleman's food where he had put like the whole bucket of chili on his noodles. He didn't even try to clean the grill and there were so many peppers in my food. My husband ordered a Sprite and drank it fast and asked for a refill and the lady told him he could have a refill but only if he doesn't share with me. I was drinking my water and excuse me?? It was just disappointing all the way around. Maybe if we were charged $11.99 for lunch it would feel worth it but no way for $20. read more

I was excited to try this place after seeing such good reviews. I went in around 6pm on a Saturday night. Staff was friendly and sat our party of 2 immediately. I started my meal with the hot and sour soup. It was average but had a funky aftertaste. I moved on to the buffet style bbq. All meat was offered in frozen chunks. The labels clearly did not match the meat so it was a bit of a guessing game to figure out which frozen meat was which. The vegetables were fresh. The sauces were extremely watery. Once cooked, I sat down at my table and tried my bowl. It was completely flavorless to the point of being inedible. I spoke to our server and she informed me that the reason it was bad is because I didn't follow the recipe suggestion they had listed. She then sent me to speak to the manager who said that since I had wasted meat and vegetables, I had to pay for it. I told him I didn't think that was fair since I didn't eat the food. He proceeded to tell me he didn't care if I was happy or not because I wasn't coming back anyway. He then demanded I pay something or he would call the police. I agreed to pay $5.00 if he would let me leave. After he processed my card, he threw my card at me. Extremely unprofessional. Needless to say, not going back. read more

We were pleasantly greeted at the entrance. The restaurant was clean and quiet. We went for the Mongolian BBQ buffet. It was all you can eat for $19.99 (this was on a Saturday night). The host/server asked what kind of soup we wanted. However, I'm allergic to MSG, which all Asian restaurants seem to have in their soup. When I asked for an eggroll or something else instead, explaining that I was allergic to the soup, he simply said "we don't do that". My husband reported that the egg drop soup was good and was hot. I sat there, waiting for him to eat his soup. They bought us a bowl with some sort of bland tasteless pancake-like stuff over rice - it kept the rice hot. The buffet choices were pretty good - a variety of meats and veggies. Even tofu, for non-meat eaters like me. There were onions, cabbage, celery, broccoli, green bell peppers, a spicy pepper (possibly jalapeno), bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, small pieces of pineapple, perhaps one or two others. The mushrooms appeared to be from a can, rather than fresh. There were no water chestnuts (which I rather expected). However, I found the choice of sauces woefully lacking. They offered ginger water (but it had no pieces of ginger), garlic water (again, I saw no pieces), soy sauce, wine, 2 kinds of oils (spicy & non), teriyaki sauce. They had only one recipe for creating a sauce combination. I guess I'm spoiled - other Mongolia BBQ places we've been to have a variety of sauces (pad thai, sweet & sour, others), so this restaurant seemed to have only bland choices, with the primary flavor being soy sauce. While I loved being able to choose a variety of veggies, the bland sauce choices convinced me that I didn't want to return. read more

Have been going here for several years whenever we are close to their location. Have always been very happy until a few days ago. We happened to be close to their location again, so decided to stop for lunch. We were surprised when we arrived to find the parking lot empty. Even wondered if they were open. Then we saw the "Open" sign on the window and went in. Very quickly found out why the parking lot was empty. When we were seated we were told that tea no longer comes with your meal. When we went to get our lunch we found the bowls were much smaller than they used to be. When I looked at the check, I was again shocked that they had also raised their prices. I then understood why the restaurant was almost empty, when it used to be extremely busy. The whole experience was just not good. That was one of our favorite places to go, but we will not be going back. read more

This place is really really good. Someone suggested trying this place. I have been to other Mongolian places, but this place has a charm to it. We went during lunch. With the lunch Mongolian bowl, you receive your choice or soup, rice, and a drink. The staff was so sweet and helpful. They explain to you the process. The selection of ingredients for the BBQ is limited but still delicious. This includes: beef, chicken, turkey, tofu, an assortment of vegetables, noodles, and sauces. The place is big and has lots of seating room. The only down thing that is saw was there was a lot of dust. The place is a bit older, so it could be given some extra love. read more

My family has been coming here since I was a child. Most people have been here at least once in their life. Out of all the Mongolian BBQ places... this has to be my favorite. It is authentic and hasn't been Amercanized like BD's. The people who work here are so cute and sweet. They are so nice and will get you anything you need. It is a typical bbq place, where you have an assortment of meats and veggies, that you pack into your bowl (everything shrinks when cooked, and one trip only!!) After fitting as much as you can into the little bowl, you can top with noodles, pineapple, and different sauces. Then they cook it up and you go sit down. At your table you are greeted with hot tea and your choice of piping hot sweet and sour, wonton, or egg drop soup. I personally go for the egg drop... which is even better when you dunk their rice pancakes in it. MMMmmmm. They never do give me enough of the little pancakes... we always have to ask for more. They also provide rice and anything else you might need. There is a full menu...although I opt for the bbq everytime. I continue to visit this place on the monthly, as it is right next to my office. My husband was craving mongolian BBQ so we decided to try Yuan's. We've driven past the place numerous times. Please take my review with a grain of salt as I have not had Mongolian BBQ since December 1999. We started out meals with soup. My wonton soup was ok, but my husband enjoyed his hot and sour soup. They brought rice out with some Chinese pancakes. I really liked the pancakes! I'm not really a fan of lo mein, which is exactly what this was. However, I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. I didn't see any seafood on their BBQ buffet, but I was happy to see tofu. I'll definitely go back, but I would try their full Chinese menu. 3 stars for the food .5 for the service .5 for my fortune in my fortune cookie- Success and wealth are in your future.
