This is my second 5 star review of this wonderful restaurant - Yuan Yuan. I've tried many of their menu items, my favorite being the Yuans seafood meal which comes with shrimp, scallops, crab, & also chicken! Today I just got some fried shrimp & pork fried rice. Their shrimp comes out hot, crisp, & is perfection. You should try the shrimp with sweet & sour sauce. The instant you first try their sweet & sour sauce you will be MESMERIZED by its AMAZINGNESS! WOW what a disappointment. Went here bc our usual place was closed. Over $30 for 1 order egg fried rice and 1 order beef and broccoli, it was well below sub par. There were a barely few bites of beef in the whole dish and they were tough and chewy. Less than one egg in the entire dish, like I could not even find one actual real bite of egg. It was all bland and tasteless. I have never ever thought about asking for my money back due to poor quality but I wish I could haves. Sadly it was take out and they were closed for the night. Definitely won't be back and will direct everyone to golden dynasty instead, or even 7-11. Literally anywhere else. read more

I love their food. The broccoli and beef is my favorite. The people who own this place are so kind and always remember who you are.

After a long drive from Seattle, Washington, we arrived at our hotel around 8:30 pm, leaving us with limited options for restaurants that weren't just bars. Thankfully, we found Yuan-Yuan, just a 3-minute drive from the Ashland Hills Hotel and Resort. We called to place an order, and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly helpful and friendly. Her amazing attitude stood out, and she took the time to ask all the right questions to ensure we knew about menu options that might not have been listed online. When we arrived, she greeted us warmly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Since we mentioned we were staying in a hotel, she thoughtfully provided plates and plenty of condiments for our meal. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. I'm honestly sad this restaurant isn't closer to home in California because it was some of the best Chinese food I've had! If I'm ever passing through Ashland again, I'll definitely be stopping by. Visiting for vacation and decided to try Yuan Yuan for the first time. needless to say it blew me away and is, hands-down, the best chinese food I've had in YEARS. I ordered shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp, and pork fried rice. the woman working FOH was so kind and gave suggestions. she told me it would take longer for the dumplings. i waited in the lobby for 15-20 minutes and the food was WORTH. EVERY. MINUTE. AND DOLLAR! as soon as i took a bite it was all "mmmm", followed by a food dance. the flavor is phenomenal, very hot, and the sauces paired so well. shoutout to the shrimp dumplings which allowed my taste buds to experience heaven. The owner is so sweet and incredible. The moo shoo chicken, a staple I grew up eating, was spot-on! Usually I'm used to seeing bamboo in my moo shoo, but I was more than okay without it because Yuan-Yuan's version tastes just as delicious, and bamboo alone doesn't offset how this dish is supposed to taste, so it's all good. Kinda neither here nor there. I WOULD like to see a Mongolian beef with just onions and green onions per tradition, because zucchini and carrots and all the extra veggies aren't necessarily supposed to be in Mongolian beef, but maybe we can work together to add that to the menu. Mongolian Beef has a very distinct and unique onion-forward flavor profile, and this valley is missing that. I think because we cater to a very....specific...unspicy...demographic's food palate and capabilities, so I WOULD like to see a liiiittle more authenticity with the Mongolian, but the Moo Shoo, a very difficult dish to get right it seems like in this valley, they at Yuan-Yuan have mastered. I would ask for an extra 1-2 pancakes and plum sauce though, since they're only offering To Go for the moment. What a lovely owner though, and boy do I wish her great success in business. I was told the egg foo yung was fantastic. It wasn't. This was a delivery so I have never been in the establishment. Also had broccoli beef. I like sauce so I was disappointed with this dish. Beef was tasteless and tough. I know a lot of people rave about this place but I am not going back. I tossed out most of it. They may have had an off day. I hope so. read more

I stayed the night near the restaurant and ordered take out. The chicken with yellow curry was very delicious! The pork fried rice was also very tasty! May stop again on my return trip home. Everything I have tried here has been delicious! I love their veggie options. Vivian is so thoughtful, she always asks if we like the vegetables included in the order and offers to swap out anything you may not want. She always takes care of us! The lunch portion is the perfect amount and a good deal for what you get. (Everything is expensive now but this is still one of the most affordable takeaway Chinese food options in the area) The dinner portions are huge and filling. Everything is takeaway no dine in but everything can be ready in 15 minutes as a walk in. Love this place! read more

Let me start with our server. She was amazing and so nice (possibly owner/wife). She was smiling, friendly and efficient. The food was good. Cooked thoroughly, large portion for the price, which was very fair. I started with the hot and sour soup. It was a bit bland and not a lot of ingredients (or at least like I'm used to). Maybe I got the bottom of the pot. I had the #5 with BBQ pork, mar far chicken, fried shrimp and fried rice. It was actually really good. Tasted fresh, although the rice was a bit bland. Overall, good. I rated a 3 due to cleanliness. This is what lowered my rating. The blinds at our table had grime on them, old decor but that's not always unusual for older buildings. But when I saw the ant crawling on our booth....deal breaker for me. One of those tiny ants where you know there are more where that one came from! Meh! read more

Delicious! We were traveling through staying 1 night in Ashland and needing dinner at 9pm. This Chinese takeout was soooo good. We live in the Bay Area and we wish we had a spot this good at home. Our portions were large and the selection was pretty decent for a smaller place. This is a GREAT restaurant. Being new to Ashland, I have tried every restaurant for take out options and this is by far my favorite. The food is alway excellent and is priced lower than competitors for a better product! Vivian is always upbeat, reliable and helpful. Once I was on crutches due to an injury and I ordered takeout on a COLD winter evening. As I was struggling to get out of the car, Vivian rushed out to deliver my food to me to save me the effort of hobbling inside. It is a pleasant experience and food that can't be beat!!
