This is an update. Last night we ordered the Chicken Satay, Veggie Rolls, Green Curry with chicken, papaya salad, and the pineapple rice. Everything was absolutely delicious except the chicken satay which has always been my favorite dish. It was cut thinner than I've ever had it, and it was dry as a bone. Since that was my main meal, I went without as it wasn't worth eating. It sure would be nice if they would remake the chicken satay for me the way they used to make it, or at the very least give me a refund or credit. This is, without question, one of the best restaurants in the Rogue Valley. The food, service, and overall atmosphere are consistently exceptional. I've worked my way through nearly the entire menu, and there hasn't been a single dish I regretted ordering. My personal favorites are the lettuce cups, Pad Prik, Pad Prik Pao, and the tomato noodle dish (truly phenomenal). If you're in the mood for soup, the rib meat with lemongrass is absolutely unforgettable deeply flavorful and comforting. I highly recommend adding a side of rice or noodles to round it out. The restaurant was very cheery and clean. We arrived shortly before noon on a Tuesday and I was impressed there were several tables with guests already seated. The outside patio was bright and inviting. We were greeted and seated quickly. My friend had the Pad Thai on a previous visit and liked it so much she requested it again. I ordered the chicken cups, the dish was very tasty served with with a nice chunk of lettuce to peel off leaves to make a cup for the chicken. By the time we left the restaurant was full. Highly recommend, will return often. Portions were large enough to have plenty of leftovers for our husbands! read more

I've never gone to a restaurant that discourages ordering! Charm is the premiere Thai spot in our area. For a while I could barely scrounge up a morsel to taste. I would call and call to order takeout--no answer. I ended up going there in person to investigate. The place was jam packed. They said I could pick up my order in 90 minutes. I tried to be an upstanding citizen and alert them that their phone may be broken (we're all heroes in our own way), but they also informed me they were too busy to bother with phone orders. Mind blown! Despite the rigmarole, the hype was justified. The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. What a delight! Recently I had the dine-in experience. It was less busy this time. Our dishes were excellent, but the flavors were not as strong as I remember. We had two broad noodle dishes: pad see ew and kua kai noodles. The noodles were soft, perfectly chewy, and carried the sauce beautifully. The portions were generous, enough for most to have a second leftover feast at home. Service was prompt and attentive! Overall I must agree that this is the best Thai food in the area, and I've been to most of the others. Come see what the hype is about. What is wrong with the tastebuds of Ashlanders, I often wonder. Charm is often sited as the best Thai restaurant in the Valley, and we love Thai food, so we finally tried it. Everything tasted and smelled of strong dishwashing detergent. (Don't even try to drink the water.) The food was terrible. Just piles of .. ugh. Fish so badly fried that there was no fish left, just overfried breading. Thai Tea is made with some kind of fake flavoring (vanllla maybe?). The people are really nice there and we didn't want to hurt their feelings, so we took our leftovers (most of the food we ordered) to go and threw it away when we got home. Ugh. read more

Cute place in a very not cute strip mall (but I guess that's Phoenix for you). It's not very big so expect to wait at peak times. Having said that, they moved through the waitlist pretty quickly. Food overall was really well done. We got most things "medium" which was fairly spicy. The Tom Kha Soup was the best. Really nice depth of flavor. The pineapple fried rice was also very good - perfect savory/sweet blend. Kra Pao was good, but I do wish they had used ground pork instead of pork pieces. This is the best Thai food We have had in Oregon. We were a group and ordered a lot of entrees and appetizers. The only dish that disappointed was the pad see ew which was mild to the point of being bland. But otherwise this Phoenix eatery outperforms every Thai restaurant in Portland I have tried. I ordered two entrees , each was on the menu at 16 dollars a piece. The Pad See Ew and the Wonton soup. I got home and realized that they had over charged me at 34 dollars. So I paid 17 dollars for a wonton soup. I just double checked using google that the average bowl of wonton in Medford goes for 8 to 12 dollars. The soup was mostly Bok Choi. The Pad See EW was good but nothing special. Very disappointed in this place. read more

A solid option for authentic tasting Thai food here in the Rogue Valley. Everything has plenty of flavor, but it seems that they have downgraded their ingredients. The beef they use in the Kra Proa could not be cooked enough. The texture was off putting; they must use bottom round or a chuck roast now. Whatever it is, it needs to cook longer and/or be cut thinner. I would not use such a low quality cut of beef for the price point that they are selling at. There are not many veggie options and no substitutions for the rice if you are looking for lower carb. No green salads here. In summary: Stick with chicken as your protein. The beef options leave much to be desired and not worth the price point. Not a place for vegetarians, no vegan options that I am aware of. read more

We finally made it to Charm. They're rated 4.5 stars and rightfully so. The appetizer of Cocnut shrimp was outstanding. We both had Thai ice coffee yummy! We both had Pineapple Fried Rice. Mine was shrimp and my wife's was chicken. The entrees size was large. We both brought half home. This place is busy so arrive early and be patient. We've eaten at every Asuan restaurant in the Rogue Valley. Carm is among the very best and definitely the best Thai. I served in Thailand and thus is VERY authentic. read more

Well, since I got a new do, I figured it would be nice to take it out to lunch. I read about Charm and it is a real charmer....a hidden gem! Seriously, I thought I was lost! Friendly greeting when I came in, and I took one of the large tables and they didn't mind since they were busy and I didn't feel like sitting at the communal table. I ordered the pad thai with chicken, panang curry with chicken, and a thai tea. Everything came out in a timely manner and with a smile! The pad thai was delicious with just the right amount of heat. I also loved the panang! The portions are very generous, and I had enough for lunch the next day. They have a very relaxing dining room and patio. So sadly disappointed with the take out food we brought home Tuesday. I have heard SO many incredible comments about this place being the best in the area, but have to completely disagree based on the food we tried. Chicken pad tai- noodles were soggy and had an odd texture, chicken seemed dry, over all flavor was mediocre Pork broccoli pad se Ew- broccoli tasted boiled, noodles tasted like broccoli, no pork had no flavor, sauce no flavor either, this was so bad I threw my plate out Pork strips were actually very tasty My other friends love this place and say they eat there all the time and they love all the food....so Id say go and see if its for you, it was not to my taste for sure. read more

Food is great, just let me say that first. Your best experience will be to order to pick up because the in house experience goes downhill from there. Very very noisy, no reservations so wait times are long due to small seating area. But the wait times for your meal is excruciatingly long. Flys in abundance and hard benches without cushions make your wait so uncomfortable. I suggest you kill the flys, get cushions for customer comfort, and take reservations. Not sure how to speed up the 45 min wait for the food to get to the table. read more

This little Thai restaurant is tucked away in a little strip mall just off the I-5. The place was packed, and the dishes leaving the kitchen all looked amazing. Very clean and nice environment with both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the coconut shrimp for an appetizer and it was great! Pad Se Ew for my main course. It was good. A joy to find this delicious Thai restaurant near Medford on my Northern Californian scenic waterfall tour. I studied the reviews and opted to do a take out order. I called ahead. at least an hour and a half before closing and called the restaurant (they have a squaresite but was shown as closed on the app). I ordered: - Hor Joy (deep fried mixture of imitation crab/ meat) stuffed in a bean curd casing - Boat noodle (beef noodle soup) - Song Kruang fried rice - fried rice with chinese sausage and bbq pork - I was excited to see the kao kai jiew (thai omelette) but learned they no longer make this (it's still on their online menu!) Their offerings (mue/moo dad jiew, kao kai jiew, hor joy, etc.) are indicative of being authentic Thai and the staff seem hip/ young. I love that there is an outdoor enclosed eating area (perhaps dogs are allowed?). There is also a low seating/ play area for children towards the front. If I lived in the area I would go here as a treat (price weren't super high but nearing California pricing), or stop by here if I was craving something asian and warm while on the way. Take note to ask for utensils, is possibly by request only because I assumed they would include it (they didn't) and someone here mentioned a similar experience. read more

The chopped chicken and "Chinese meat" was too heavy on the oil and had a simple taste of soy sauce. The lettuce leaves were brown on the inside, and they used iceburg lettuce. Yuck, iceburg lettuce? What about romain or bib lettuce? Probably a cost choice, but not my style. Lastly, I got a sour stomach probably from the cheap sauvignon blanc wine. Or maybe it was from the food. My fellow diner had chicken curry, and the curry sauce had the texture of being watered-down. The 3rd person could barely eat their meal because it was too spicy.
