The burgers consistently have little to no sauce on it, when asked to have a good amount of sauce they charge you for a whole side! The owner has now hired a new waitress the one who wears the headband that is lazy! She takes your order, it's wrong when it comes out and she does not check back on your table the whole time. Great value for the price, especially if you booked a pricey Airbnb or simply passing through. I appreciate the diner vibes and pics of old Hollywood. Breakfast is served all day, which is amazing. I ordered the avocado bacon burger, which tasted clean. The zucchini fries were also great (reminds me of Astro Burger in WeHo). The Oreo shake was pure joy in a cup. I went there with my mother. I got the bacon burger and fries, My mother got the chef salad. We both felt the food was excellent and there was a lot of it. When I was done it looked like I didn't touch the fries, believe me I did. The server was busy washing windows and taking care of several other people and we were still well taken care of. I love this place. The Mexican food is great. The onion rings and fried zucchini are great. The dinners are great. But their hamburgers aren't good at all. The meat is dry and tasteless. Terrible service- snail slow service. Almost every customer was waiting to get noticed by the waiters. While you eat suddenly all the fans turn on repeatedly even when couple of customers turned them off. Think your eggs getting cold while you are sipping coffee. Terrible food. Terrible service Rude waitress' They don't clean their tables. I politely asked for something to clean the table with and was answered rudely with I'll be right there. She never came. When our food came I asked if I could have something else because my sandwich came with rye bread and I'm allergic to rye. I totally inconvenienced the waitress and I said never mind. I just ended up sharing my husbands food on a very dirty table. My husband was disappointed at the attitude toward patrons and the dirty table, he asked for to go containers. Came here on the recommendation of a friend. It was a little confusing when we got there because we had a dog we asked to sit outside so they said okay go sit and someone will be with you. It was cold and the heaters set up outside don't work. So I literally used a heated blanket while out there. Granted we had to sit outside because of our friend's dog , but to have 4 heaters that don't work was odd. Someone came out and took our drink orders. When he came back he told us we would have to go inside to order. We could have done that when we first got there had they not told us to sit outside, it was so odd. The food was better than the service. In our group we got waffles, johns farm breakfast, johns gourmet burger, chorizo and eggs, French toast, and biscuits and gravy. My friend got another burger but I can't em ever which one. It was all good, my plate the johns farm breakfast just needed some extra salt. The burgers were your classic diner burgers you can't go wrong. My friend enjoyed his chorizo and eggs, just was kinda of a small portion. The waffles were fantastic but they are SWEET!! Which I expect from a Belgian waffle. It had this crispy sugar crystal bits, bomb. My favorite was the French toast. So fluffy and light but with the perfect vanilla flavor! Yum. A traditional country diner in downtown Yucca Valley. The menu is a bit smaller than I expected but they still have a lot of great options. You can order to go at the counter or sit down in one of the many booths inside or seating outside. Our server was very polite and fast, even though it took quite a bit for food to come out. They have a large parking lot right next to the restaurant so parking is plentiful and close. We ordered Pancakes & Eggs and both were good as expected. I wish the pancakes would have been a bit fluffier but the butter they used and the size of them made up for that a bit. Also their coffee is very good and I could have much more than I did. Overall a really solid breakfast option in Yucca Valley. I would recommend and would go back next time I am in town. read more

A decently sized diner about 20 minutes from Joshua Tree national park. I walked in for lunch and was seated immediately by a friendly staff. I ended up getting a breakfast special #1 with french toast. Be warned, the 1/2 french toast is more like 1/4 french toast so I would definitely recommend getting pancakes instead which were pretty sizable. The sausage was fine, and lacked some seasoning. 5 stars for our family! We visit John's place everytime we visit my mom's house (Grandma's house that is lol). After a 3 hour ride to the Desert, we gather here and have a meal and catch up. This place BY FAR, EXCEEDS Denny's quality of food everything is made fresh and tastes so much better than Denny's. We ate here so many times, I just been needing to write a quick review to maybe pickup some stars for this classic diner. This place for some reason (not sure if it is owned by the same person or managed by a seperate person) is far better than the one in 29palms. Here, I don't have to ASK for a straw for my little kids. Where as the one in 29 Palms, I literally have to explain everytime we visited (we once had a week air bnb there to do some activities and had to eat a couple meals there) had to explain to the waitress my kiddos NEEDS straws or else they'd spill their drink everywhere and one of them rolled their eyes at me, or had a attitude like they didn't believe me... I mean, I know we're in California and everything (in regards to "the straw police") but I'm asking for it (BTW- California visitors...some establishments here you HAVE to ask for a straw or else they won't give you one- I guess it's to protect sea life or something like that). Anyhow, this Yucca location is on point, friendly, and always a clean table waiting for you no matter what time of day you visit. HORRIBLE SERVICE The service was just awful, so disappointed, I found this place online because I wanted to try something local instead of IHOP. And immediately regretted it. First they brought our orders all mixed we were a group of 8 so we sat at two different tables I asked for a separate tab to make it easier but no. At first this man asked for our order, then two girls started bringing our food and placing it at the opposite tables and since we were confused because we didn't order that they would get mad. They would leave the plates at the table let us put butter/sauce etc. and come back and without even asking just grab our plates and tell us that it wasn't ours after all. Couldn't find a table to sit at because most were dirty, had to sit all the way in the back by the bathroom. Food was really greasy, not as great as the times I've come with my parents when I was young, and 10x more expensive. All we got was some zucchini fries, French fries, and a chicken quesadilla the bill was about $50. I will say, the service was excellent. The young girl serving us was nice and thoughtful.
