I recently visited this sushi restaurant that is located in the Sheraton hotel. Plenty of parking in the underground parking structure. Make sure to get your ticket validated at the front desk to get 3 hours of free parking! The restaurant was a little difficult to locate because they didn't have any signs. Turns out they share the same seating area as the hotel's buffet. It wasn't until we were near the entrance that we saw a Yuki sushi sign. The restaurant looks very clean and modern and is very different from other typical sushi restaurants. Food: We ordered a yellowtail collar, black cod, an assortment of sashimi that the chef picked for us, dragon roll, and a baked salmon roll. The yellowtail collar was so good. The fish was very soft and kinda melts in your mouth. The sashimi was very fresh and thickly cut. Service: Service was very good. We were the only table dining here so they were very attentive towards us. The chef was talking to us the whole time and making sure we were satisfied during our time dining. It's been a while since we've had sushi this good and might be our new favorite spot. Their menu is simple. They serve up classics with a contemporary twist but if there's something you don't see on the menu, feel free to ask the chef. If they have it, they will serve it. We shared: ミックスカルパッチョ (Mixed Carpaccio) $21 | 江戸前ちらし寿司 (Edomae Chirashi Sushi) $28 | Shrimply Irresistible Roll $16.5 | Dragon Roll $15.5. We don't yet have a favorite but maybe when we come back. The fish were flavorful and tender yet firm while the rice was perfectly seasoned. Not sure what fish was in the Mixed Carpaccio aside from 鮭 (Shake, Salmon). The Chirashi included 本鮪 (Hon Maguro, Bluefin Tuna), トロ (Toro, Fatty Bluefin Tuna), 鯛 (Madai, Japanese Sea Bream/Snapper) and 鮭 (Shake, Salmon). Being locally owned, they use quality fish sourced locally as well as from Japan. We ordered the perfect amount of food with just a few pieces left to take home. It's located inside the Sheraton Hotel. You get complimentary validation for up to three hours in their parking structure. If you park in the structure, take the elevator up to the lobby floor, pass the lobby and you should see some signs for the restaurant or ask the employees at the front counter how to get there. We came on Monday at 6 PM as walk-ins without a wait. The inside is modern and feels upscale without the high price tag. There is plenty of seating and we chose to sit at the bar. Was it a good place to come once in a blue moon? Yes, if you want to feel full, you probably need to buy a good amount. If you want to just taste really good food, it's good to come there. The quality is definitely there. Again, I'm not a fan of raw seafood. But I do know that seafood is not supposed to have a strong smell because the chef will use lemon or yuzu to cut the smell. Or even if they don't use citrus, the rice vinegar on the rice cut the smell. Taste? It does melt in your mouth. It's definitely different than ayce sushi place. It's a quiet dining place, and if you want to splurge, you can definitely try the omakase dining experience. I went here with my boyfriend and he was happy trying the food here. food: 1/10. service: 0/10. ambiance: 2/10. food was bad, bitter and looked really old. i'm pretty sure their food stock was delivered 6 months ago and was very pale and mushy. i dont wanna think about the food. the most shocking part: service was awful... the waiter took too long to deliver our food (the sushi came first, but the appetizers came like 40 minutes later? and the water arrived a while after the sushi?). one of the chefs was talking to us basically about how slow and terrible our waiter was and went on about how he was gonna fire him tomorrow, which is just bad practice in general. i felt so uncomfortable, how are you supposed to reply to that? the poor waiter. the ambiance was very off-putting: very bland, empty, no music, ikea showroom furniture, just an odd atmosphere overall. not something i'd wanna have a good time and eat at. usually you get either bad food and good service, or good food and bad service. this one had bad food and service. i don't think i'd recommend this place, especially as a sushi place. we wasted like 2 hours there for a terrible experience. However, the food more than makes up for that. The sashimi and rolls are fresh, creative, and delicious. The only downside was that we went on New Year's Eve and they were down a sushi chef and had only one server, so the dining experience was very long and frustrating at times. read more
