Came on a Saturday right around 2:30 and luckily there wasn't a wait at all. You can join the waitlist ahead of time on yelp if there is a wait though. Big fan of their happy hour since you get 30% off and you just have to order before it ends at 3pm. They even came around to remind us that happy hour was about to end and asked if we wanted to order anything else which I appreciated. We happened to go during one of the world cup games and they had it playing on all their TVs which was a nice surprise. We ordered 2 apps and 4 rolls which were super affordable with their family combo meal thing (4 rolls for a set price regardless of which ones you choose). This was plenty of food for 4 people and we were pretty stuffed by the end. Overall food wasn't necessarily 5/5 for me but the experience and prices are def worth a return to this spot for me Spicy tuna crispy rice: 5/5 I liked that there were toppings besides just tuna and the rice was crispy and hot when I ate it Chicken karaage: 4/5 liked this a lot, especially whatever sauce came with it. I did think there was a little too much batter for my personal preference though Truffle seared salmon roll: 3/5 not bad but I don't love seared fish in general Black spider roll: 3/5 I didn't love the crab and there was just a little too much eel sauce for me but my friends liked it a lot Ceviche rainbow roll: 5/5 wasn't sure how I felt about this combo after seeing it on the menu but I thought it worked surprisingly well. Would def recommend Rainbow roll: 4/5 nothing crazy but I liked it

Finally trying this Yelp Bookmarked restaurant in my Alhambra collection. Got here shortly after opening and leaving at 12:30 and every table is full. Huge portions and great rolls. Had the Pink Panther, Baked Scallop and Crispy Rice and Spicy Tuna rolls. Lunch for for $43- gotta love the price. Someone on Yelp said get the fresh Wasabi. We did and it was bomb!

So many options for sushi and more. A little gimmicky with the dry ice on the sushi platter, but the fish is fresh. Pretty busy on a weekend night.

Great lunch special at 30% off entire menu! The rolls are filled nicely and made with care. Ordered the family sushi roll combo at (4 rolls for $65) Would definitely order the salmon lover roll and the salmon lemon roll (a big fan of seared salmon!) Their salmon toro nigri is to die for! Worth the $6 per piece and the truffle topping ties amazingly with the richness of the fish. Takoyaki and crispy rice tuna are good appetizer starters, no complaints.

Stopped by here for lunch after spending the afternoon at Gallery Nucleus just around the corner. Apps are good and everything comes out super quickly. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was tasty, the rice had a nice crunch and the fish portion was generous. However I felt a bit let down by the sushi. While the rolls looked nice in initial appearance, each piece fell apart right when picked up :/ Everything was just kind of smushed together and not very well made. The albacore was also warm and had a strange, squishy texture. Not a huge fan of this place unfortunately.

Pretty good deal during happy hour (M-F before 5pm) where everything is 30% off. Very solid sushi place that had everything from sushi rolls, stone pots, noodles, and more. Decently fresh sushi rolls and good portions - fun and creative rolls. The mentaiko pasta had nice and chewy udon noodles and a creamy sauce that clings into the noodles nicely. Good place for a lunch or early dinner with good value that I would come again to try more dishes.

Mikomi Sushi is now my go-to place for Japanese food in SGV. The yellowtail collar was fresh and crispy. The premium sashimi omakase were full of large slices of high quality fish, plus a small dropper of Ponzu sauce adds a wonderful touch. Toto truffle roll is tasty and delicious - I can't say enough good things about this place. The server were friendly and attentive. The ambiance is modern, cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended!

When we walked in the restaurant was already packed because of the 30% off happy hour M-F until 5pm and Sat. And Sun. Until 3pm. What a deal! Not only was the price on point, the food was also so delicious! The customers were chatting away and you could tell everyone enjoyed their food. As soon as we placed our order, the food was brought out within 5 minutes. So efficient! These were the items we ordered: Rainbow roll Stinky garlic roll Salmon crunch roll Seared salmon ceviche roll Hawaiian roll Shrimp crunch roll Mikomi special roll Rainbow roll Belly trio Salmon trio vegetable tempura Cucumber roll Avocado roll Vegetable roll Salmon stone pot Every single dish was mouthwatering and the rolls were ginormous! We walked out of the restaurant happy, full, and thinking about what I would order next time. If you haven't been here, you're definitely missing out!!!

lunch menu 30% off! belly trio - salmon toro, yellowtail toro, bluefin toro. salmon belly was juicy and best of the 3 crispy softshell crab - appreciate that its not burnt, the fried batter turned out lightly crispy and complemented the crab well teriyaki beef bento - average bento. teriyaki beef was solid. tonkatsu tasted too burnt/oily for my liking. salad was fine. japanese miso ramen - my mom loves ramen and thoroughly enjoyed this as well as its creamy broth. would love to come again for the sushi omakase set, chiraishi don, and specialty rolls which looked fresh and appealing... i saw many customers order them attentive service, easy parking

Came in on a Friday afternoon around 2pm. No line, great service and 30% off entire bill!? Husband and I were seated and our waitress was very attentive. We started with the squid legs and they were huge and yummy but a tad bit on the greasy side. Husband ordered his usual spider roll which was delicious and he also ordered the tuna and eel don which was absolutely delicious and fresh. Presentation was beautiful as well. I opted for the most basic dish beef teriyaki bento with mixed tempura. The beef was inedible the first time they brought it out, it was sooooo dry and tough even if I was pregnant I wouldn't want it. The waitress was really nice and sent it back and gave me another one. It wasn't any better than the first time but I didn't want to be inconvenient so I just didn't eat it. The mixed tempura was yummy but also a tad bit on the greasy side. I would come back and try one of their Don bowls and order the squid legs again. But definitely skip the beef teriyaki.

    Yellowtail Trio
    MeiMei Y.

Although I had to wait a while on the waiting list, once we were inside the restaurant, all the food came very quickly. In addition, there was a bar and two TVs, and music that wasn't too loud. The yellowtail trio was very high quality, and the udon and hot stone were both very flavorful and comforting. Although the plating of the rainbow roll and takoyaki was pretty, the actual taste was mediocre. Overall, I recommend putting your party on the waiting list before arrival, and ordering the sushi trios with something filling like a hot stone or noodle soup.

For appetizers we ordered the Takoyaki, chicken karage and our main dishes Deluxe Tsukemen x3. The Break down: Atmosphere: 4/5 They greet you as you walk in, which I sets the vibe. You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. Overall: We love this place and we keep coming back with new people to share this type of noodle experience. Check them out im sure you will enjoy it. Lets just say we drove an hour to eat this. You def will not be disappointed :)

I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

I really like that. They have a little button on the table that you can call for service at any time so you don't have to hunt down for help. The combo is a pretty good option to get if you're eating alone or want some leftovers to take home or have a very small eating partner with you. We got the Shoyu and Salmon Poke bowl. It did not disappoint. I went when they opened at 11:00 on a Sunday morning. The door was open with a sign saying to come inside and be seated. The space is pleasant. I love the black and yellow color scheme. The big black and white portrait of James Dean is cool. There is a choice of seating ~ two different counters, tables, booths, and outdoor tables. Suits every mood. I sat in a booth, which was comfy. I decided to order the Blaze Ramen combo, medium hot with chashu and added bamboo shoots, and a 4-piece chicken karaage appetizer. I had ordered that before on Uber Eats and knew that I liked it. I loved the way the chili paste for the broth was set on top of the pork. I decided to use half of it at first and test how spicy it was. When I realized how good the flavor was and how on pointe the spice level was, I added it all to the broth. The chashu was thick and tender. The noodles were perfectly al dente. The only miss was the bamboo shoots. Fortunately they were on the side. They were oily and kind of musty tasting, not at all like the slightly crispy, umami, salty ones I've had before (even from there). *they kindly took the bamboo shoots off the bill I love the shape of the bowls AND the ramen ladles that the ramen is served with. At first I thought they were weird, but they are perfect. I want one! The napkins are thick and the disposable chopsticks are more than adequate. All in all it was a successful trip. I'll be back. *sorry, no photos, I dug in quickly

Parking: There's a parking lot behind the restaurant, but it's kind of small. There's plenty of free street parking, structures, and some open air lots around. I parked on 5th St. Next Time: I'll switch it up and try their Unadon or any of the udon bowls next time.
