Had eaten at this place many times . The meat and flavors are all so good but . Today there was just so many eggshells . Like a lot where I noticed.

We heard about this spot from a local friend, and it definitely delivers on value. We ordered delivery, so I can't comment on the dining experience, but I do know it's pay-by-the-pound with a side of rice and soup. At $9.99 per pound, it's a fair price. We had the sweet and sour pork, which was good. We'd like to visit in person to fully assess it. While other reviews seem a bit low, based on our delivery order, I'm giving it a 4-star rating, with the understanding that I may adjust it after a dine-in experience.

This is order by the pound type of buffet, and you get complimentary soup and rice. You can eat inside or just buy to-go. Inside is clean and organized. The first time I ordered, it was great since it was early in the morning and was just made. The other time, I ordered was at about 4 pm, so it was more like leftovers from lunch, and the meat and rice had hardened. It should be better to go early or a little later.

Our first time trying this Chinese fast food place with my mom today, and it's located on Garvey in Monterey Park. I liked the idea that it's like Chinese buffet style, that you can choose the food you like, but pay by weighing. They charge $9.99 per pound (It also serves with rice and soup), which is very reasonable and affordable. The interior was neat and clean, but we were surprised that there were not many people dining in there. (Maybe the majority got it for to-go.) They had many varieties of food, including appetizers, meat, seafood, and veggies. However, the quality of the food was mediocre. Some dishes were hit & miss. The shrimp was not fresh, and the braised pork meat was too big & chewy. Some dishes were okay and flavorful. I liked their cold dish (appetizers) and veggies more than the meat. If you just want to have a quick bite and try many variety of food at an affordable price, this place is for you. The lady at the cashier was friendly and helpful. Pros: great concept, good for single dining or take-out, a lot of different varieties Cons: They should improve the freshness and quality of the food

$9.99 per lb of Chinese Fast Food in Monterey Park. They have pretty good variety of appetizers....but I'm okay on everything else. Not your typical Shau May (original OG local Chinese fast food/Arcadia). This place has a different taste and lighter which is nice. Its comes with rice and soup. Don't pick the super overly starched egg corn soup. So I guess if we do come back again, it'll probably be for 1. Takeout of their appetizers for home, or a pot luck situation. They have pretty good variety of appetizers. 2. If looking for cheap comfort meal for particular items. I guess veggies cost alot now, so maybe a whole plate of a different veggies could be worth it. 3. Single dining or take out for affordability. Takes credit card. Grab your soup on your own. They will hand you the rice. There's just so much food in the area. So I guess this place is good if looking for simple fast food. But we'll probably only come back for appetizers to go. We got lucky with front parallel parking.

Got take out from this place. Pretty cool concept where all the food is cooked and you basically scoop up whatever you want and they weigh it in the end and charge you. Its $9.99lb which is pretty good in my opinion. Food is ok. Nothing crazy to rave about but nothing tasted bad. Would come back and try other options. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

We were referred to this place by someone who I consider as being a foodie. He told us not to get our hopes up too high, since the food is inexpensive. It was only $9.99 per pound minus a 15 percent discount as their grand opening promotion. I believe the employee stated that the rice and soup were free of charge. There were numerous options, but I ended up asking them what some of the dishes were since some of them were not translated to English. I was happy with my battered fried fish. My husband was happy with his fried salt and pepper shrimp. We were unhappy with the temperature of the food. We tried numerous dishes, but they weren't dishes we would recommend. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. It was nice that they provided disposable gloves for their buffet.

Best bang for your buck Chinese food! This is not somewhere to go if you want high quality but if you want a quick cheap lunch with your friends I highly recommend this place. I come here regularly. Came on Sunday evening for dinner. As usually their meatballs don't miss! And I always get their pig ears, intestines, and squid. Fried foods are sometimes a little stale probably because they've been sitting out for a bit. Only complaint was the plum pork chops I felt were a bit too plummy for me. Lots of spicy flavors. Free rice and soup are a plus!

Great place if you want to grab your own amount of food depending on how you feel. I love the mini squid, meatballs, bok choy, bun, eggplant, chicken, seaweed, etc. There are more selections, about 40 items that are fresh and cooked already. They charge $9.99 a pound which is fair to me. And they give complimentary rice and soup. There is also lots of seating in the place. I liked the atmosphere. Hope they get more customers and get noticed!!

This pioneering Monterey Park Chinese restaurant storefront from 45 years ago is once again home to Chinese food, Jiu Hao Can Ting. Concept is something I've seen a few other places, but not the San Gabriel Valley--serve yourself, but pay by the pound. Kind of like a buffet, but not all you can eat. Food here is excellent, but the selection skews different from Chinese buffets in the area, which target a combination of Chinese and non-Chinese diners. $9.99 a pound, with an introductory discount. There won't be many non-Chinese diners eating here.

The menu looked pretty similar to a lot of other Taiwanese spots I've been to. I ordered the beef noodle soup. The beef was tender, although it was a little on the salty side for me. The bok choy was cooked well and still had a nice texture without being overcooked or soggy. My friend got the honey green tea, popcorn chicken, and tomato beef noodle soup. He thought everything was fine, but nothing really stood out to him. We came on a Friday right before noon, and it started getting pretty busy soon after. I probably wouldn't wait a long time to eat here, especially on a weekend. There are quite a few other places that serve similar dishes and are pretty comparable. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I'd be open to coming back and trying some of the other things on the menu, especially the xiao long bao or one of the other rice noodle soups.

It's simple what they do well here, they make darn good food that tastes like homemade food (healthy and delicious), they price everything on the menu very reasonably (especially in these crazy times), and they treat all their customers like family/neighbors. And we always pair it with veggies (garlic cucumbers or water spinach) and pork dumplings are also amazing. Almost any of their braised meat rice/noodles are just really good (popular ones are braised pork rice or braised chicken leg rice). Our food also arrived at very different times. The chicken steak came out significantly before the chicken cutlet, and it was mediocre at best. It was barely warm, which made it seem like it had been sitting out for a while, and the chicken was quite fatty and difficult to eat without picking it apart. The bigger issue came when the chicken cutlet finally arrived. While my fiancé was cutting into the chicken, he found a **whole screw in the food**. We're generally very passive at restaurants and don't like making a fuss, but this was completely unacceptable. We called the waiter over, and while she apologized, the response felt very dismissive and there was no real acknowledgment of the seriousness of what had happened or any effort to accommodate us. She eventually asked whether we wanted to cancel the order or have another one made. We chose to have it remade, and although the replacement came out later, there was still very little acknowledgment of the incident. Overall, we were extremely disappointed. Mistakes can happen, but finding a screw in your food is a serious issue, and we expected much more attentive service and concern from the staff afterward. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt more focused on getting customers in and out than providing a quality dining experience. We left feeling very disappointed and would not return.
