This is order by the pound type of buffet, and you get complimentary soup and rice. You can eat inside or just buy to-go. Inside is clean and organized. The first time I ordered, it was great since it was early in the morning and was just made. The other time, I ordered was at about 4 pm, so it was more like leftovers from lunch, and the meat and rice had hardened. It should be better to go early or a little later.

Our first time trying this Chinese fast food place with my mom today, and it's located on Garvey in Monterey Park. I liked the idea that it's like Chinese buffet style, that you can choose the food you like, but pay by weighing. They charge $9.99 per pound (It also serves with rice and soup), which is very reasonable and affordable. The interior was neat and clean, but we were surprised that there were not many people dining in there. (Maybe the majority got it for to-go.) They had many varieties of food, including appetizers, meat, seafood, and veggies. However, the quality of the food was mediocre. Some dishes were hit & miss. The shrimp was not fresh, and the braised pork meat was too big & chewy. Some dishes were okay and flavorful. I liked their cold dish (appetizers) and veggies more than the meat. If you just want to have a quick bite and try many variety of food at an affordable price, this place is for you. The lady at the cashier was friendly and helpful. Pros: great concept, good for single dining or take-out, a lot of different varieties Cons: They should improve the freshness and quality of the food

Got take out from this place. Pretty cool concept where all the food is cooked and you basically scoop up whatever you want and they weigh it in the end and charge you. Its $9.99lb which is pretty good in my opinion. Food is ok. Nothing crazy to rave about but nothing tasted bad. Would come back and try other options. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

We were referred to this place by someone who I consider as being a foodie. He told us not to get our hopes up too high, since the food is inexpensive. It was only $9.99 per pound minus a 15 percent discount as their grand opening promotion. I believe the employee stated that the rice and soup were free of charge. There were numerous options, but I ended up asking them what some of the dishes were since some of them were not translated to English. I was happy with my battered fried fish. My husband was happy with his fried salt and pepper shrimp. We were unhappy with the temperature of the food. We tried numerous dishes, but they weren't dishes we would recommend. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. It was nice that they provided disposable gloves for their buffet.

Best bang for your buck Chinese food! This is not somewhere to go if you want high quality but if you want a quick cheap lunch with your friends I highly recommend this place. I come here regularly. Came on Sunday evening for dinner. As usually their meatballs don't miss! And I always get their pig ears, intestines, and squid. Fried foods are sometimes a little stale probably because they've been sitting out for a bit. Only complaint was the plum pork chops I felt were a bit too plummy for me. Lots of spicy flavors. Free rice and soup are a plus!

Great place if you want to grab your own amount of food depending on how you feel. I love the mini squid, meatballs, bok choy, bun, eggplant, chicken, seaweed, etc. There are more selections, about 40 items that are fresh and cooked already. They charge $9.99 a pound which is fair to me. And they give complimentary rice and soup. There is also lots of seating in the place. I liked the atmosphere. Hope they get more customers and get noticed!!

This pioneering Monterey Park Chinese restaurant storefront from 45 years ago is once again home to Chinese food, Jiu Hao Can Ting. Concept is something I've seen a few other places, but not the San Gabriel Valley--serve yourself, but pay by the pound. Kind of like a buffet, but not all you can eat. Food here is excellent, but the selection skews different from Chinese buffets in the area, which target a combination of Chinese and non-Chinese diners. $9.99 a pound, with an introductory discount. There won't be many non-Chinese diners eating here.

This place took over Q Bedding, so husband and I checked out this place out of curiosity. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise! We were welcomed and greeted warmly by the two ladies at the counter near the entrance. I was confused by the term "buffet" on their banner; I think what they really meant was "all you can pack/all you can choose" etc. You fill up the paper-based container with whatever food you like and then they would weigh the food and charge based on that. Rice and soup are already included they are not calculated extra in your cost. I like this concept because I had more choices on my food options than the traditional "2-entrees" or "3-entrees" methods while not having to waste food. We ended up paying around $21 for our family of 3. Food turned out to be quite good. My husband said the soup was surprisingly good and the food was even better than some full service restaurants it there. I agree with him too. They tasted more well made than other "Chinese fast food" places. It's been a few hours since the meal and I am happy to report that I didn't experience any tummy troubles and MSG after-effects.

Everything was very salty. The pork stomach was salty and the soup was very salty. Not a fan.

I guess many things have changed though, the restaurant definitely got a lot busier than I remember, probably has to due with TikTok influencers blowing up this spot. I'm happy for them. The wait on a weekend evening was around 40 minutes for a table for 2 and we arrived around 6. Food XLB - these weren't anything special, I do like the scallion and ginger flavors in the filling Popcorn Chicken - must get, reminds me of the one I had in Taipei Pan Fried Pork Buns - they do pork buns really well here. Crispy bottom, juicy filling, very delicious Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup - soy based, herb/spice heavy. Noodles Al dente, very good beef noodle Duck Female Ginger Rice Noodle - this one was good when it first arrived at the table, but after 3-4 minutes the noodle just sucked up all the soup and it no longer became enjoyable. Service was typical and very efficient. The location interior is not that big but they definitely made the most use out of the space.

Ordered the potstickers, the spicy wontons, the beef noodle soup, and then jiajiang noodles. In order of preference, it is the spicy wontons, the jiajiang noodles, the potstickers, and then the beef noodle soup. What they got right with the spicy wontons was the sauce - spiced, kinda spicy, sour, and also sweet. I could use that sauce on everything. The jiajiang noodles was just a good combo of cool from the cucumbers and the noodles and minced meat were good. The beef noodle soup was fine but I think the soup could've packed a bigger punch. It felt almost watered down but I say the piece of beef were great. Overall, the meal came out to around $65 and it is pretty standard now but $13 for 8 wontons or 8 potstickers just feels a bit nuts still. Overall though, it was a solid meal and I'd recommend coming
