In A NUtshell: -I have always enjoyed eating dim sum at Yum Cha. -They have really good tea here too. -The service is always very friendly & fast. -I enjoyed the food, especially the Peking Duck, the skin is so crispy. Overall, it's not a bad place to grab some dim sum if you are in Menlo Park.

This place was so good! They were able to accommodate about 15 of us and the food was delicious. The waiters were really friendly as well! Some highlights include the shrimp dumplings and the pork buns. The pork buns were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside and tasted delicious! The shrimp dumplings were tasty as well as they were perfectly soft and cooked to perfection. I would come here again!

We love our dim sum so we were disappointed by a few dishes here. They were just shy of great which was unfortunate. The ha Cheung (shrimp rice roll) wasn't very flavorful. The ha gow (steamed shrimp dumpling) was quite chewy. And the xlb soup dumpling dough was super thick. Service was fast and efficient though which was nice. We were seated in this very corner even though the restaurant was quite empty... I'm assuming it may be because we came with a toddler and an infant in a stroller so they thought a corner spot may be less cumbersome for us and other guests but felt a little odd being so off to the side when the big restaurant only had maybe 3-4 other tables of guests. Parking was easy with downtown lots just a block behind the restaurant.

Huge space to enjoy dimsum with friends or family! Came in opening on Sunday morning and it was not crowded. Service was great, we had some error with some of our orders and they gladly replaced them. All were delicious!!

Generous servings! All dim sum items are amazing as well as their cooked food. The rice rolls are their specialty, get shrimp or peking duck one! Shrimp and chive pan fried dumpling is the best and their lava bun is always a hit. snow pea shoots stir fried with garlic, xo string beans, fried hong kong noodles with seafood, salt and pepper calamari, chicken special, claypot fried rice are all authentic. Get Chrysanthemum tea if you want no caffeine and refreshing.

Sufficient I mean it's not good by any stretch of the imagination, but good enough to pass as dim sum. It is a la carte so now carts sadly. We got a variety of buns, dumplings, and other dishes. The best by far was the turnip cakes - crispy, hot, spicy, and fragrant, stir fried with peppers and aromatics. Everything else was aight. Soup dumplings were borderline offensive. Very small and skin was wayyy too thick. Served with red vinegar??

Went back for more dimsum and to try the Singaporean noodles because it looked good on another table. Singaporean noodles was cooked with curry which I thought was just ok. It did have big pieces of shrimp which I liked. BBQ pork egg noodles were ok. Will pass on the giant meatballs next time. Will definitely get the shumai again. Loked the wonton soup especially the wonton itself filled with well seasoned ground pork and piece of shrimp.

Had cravings for dim sum at night, but didn't want to venture far from home. This place is very okay, but didn't really hit the spot :( so I may have to trek on the weekend to Cupertino or millbrae Ambiance seemed a little depressing lol. Best to worst: - Ma lai go STEAMED SPONGE CAKE $5.5 (YAY): not too sweet, served warm - WOR WONTON SOUP $13.5 (OK): not a huge fan of the wontons in this: mixed pork with a shrimp hanging on, soup was standard - HALF PEKING DUCK $19 (OK): served pre-cut and inserted into the buns, decently meaty but prefer to serve my own - CHEUNG FUN /rice paper rolls: $8.5 (EH) shrimp was okay, but duck tasted like they scraped the old bits into the rolls. Overall noodle was a little mushy - HA GAO (EH) $7.5 for 4. Not a huge fan of the texture of the shrimp, - SHRIMP W SNOW PEAS $17 (EH): okay texture but very garlic heavy and oily - TRIPLE MUSHROOM CHICKEN $18.5 (PASS): oily and was hoping for more unique mushrooms like snow fungus, fresh mushrooms etc but was mostly canned - CHICKEN MUSHROOM BUN $6.5 for 3: (PASS): not very mushroomy, more green onion dominated. Not a fan Not my first pick to be back, but would come if a craving needed to be satisfied during traffic I guess

We ordered a few things: mushrooms E fu noodle (no seafood), orange beef, steam bbq pork bun and stick rice. The steam bbq pork bun is super small, much smaller than expected! The orange beef is chewy and the sauce is weird, skip it! The original price for E fu noodle is $27 with abalone but we requested for vege only, they charged us $21 for it, it's very small portion and doesn't worth the price! The only thing is good is the sticky rice, because it doesn't contain too much msg (still has some, but much less msg compared to similar item you can get from other dim sum to go stores).

Yummy for dim sum!! This was my second time coming here and I was as pleasantly surprised. It's on el Camino so there's parking in the back and the lots and 2 entrances depending on where you come from. No one pushing carts on the Saturday morning but the menu was fine- everything I got was so good. The servers were actually attentive and brought me what I needed quickly and overall food was good. Ambiance is of a regular dim sum- no music but just families having a good time eating and drinking their tea. I will come back from any dim sum craving!

We ordered the hottest version but it was not too spicy for us - it was very flavorful. The fresh cut red chillies they give you, was really spicy - the red bean spicy sauce was just right. We enjoyed the cool beers with the spicy food. It's a unique ambience for a Univ Ave restaurant- it's just a Chinese kitchen serving good food - like you came to a home and got served really well. Will come back again with more family members. Ps: another surprising thing - we were a party of 6 and they didn't automatically charge us the tip - I took care of them - because I was super satisfied and happy with my meal!

This is probably the only Chinese restaurant around here with such an inviting outdoor patio, which makes it perfect for us since our dog babies can relax too. The menu strikes a really smart balance between authentic Sichuan spicy dishes and more Americanized Chinese classics, so there's something for everyone. The signature spicy fish fillet in flaming red oil is a must-try -- bold, fragrant, and so satisfying it might have just saved me an expensive flight back to China. The chili oil wontons are my personal favorite starter and never disappoint. This is an easy repeat spot for us, and we'll definitely go back around CNY days.

Or really any quality takeout of any kind. $90 order, ranging from dumplings to basic entrees to rice. Everything was off - slopped together, underseasoned, lazy vegetable chopping (and questionable) choices of vegetable ingredients. No Wok fire/heat evident in any of the entree's and everything was a gluey, flavorless mess. The noodles for the Lo Mein seemed honestly just spaghetti. The orange chicken was dry/old, almost no breading, and honestly didn't taste orangey at all. The kung pao looked like what my 7 year old could have made (when we was seven). More like boiled chicken topped with raw Safeway vegetables, whole peanuts, and a soupy cornstarch soy sauce afterthought. The kicker was they do not have any house made sauces, so if you want good mustard or something edible for dipping - welcome to shitty packet hell as they refused to provide those (if they existed). I'm curious what they do when you're in-house but if I''m paying for the same food I'm not sure why I wouldn't get something besides high-fructose corn syrup garbage stamped out in a factory two years ago. This reflects lack of care to the product and customer experience. Highly unfortunate for an establishment that used to be "decent" as I said.

Cheesy, tender, egg fried rice was flavorful. Portion kinda small, as the dish was very shallow. Not a lot of rice. Kinda off tho when it was the first dish that arrived to the table and it was lukewarm. I find a baked dish is typically always last since it needs time to bake, and is served scalding hot imo. That's when you know it's done right. This wasn't that. Suss The baked pork chop with cheese and tomato sauce was so disappointing and super greasy/heavy. The meat was chewy and had an unpleasant flavor. The tomato sauce was not good either. The shrimp wonton noodle soup I sadly cannot recommend, the filling was not good. Had more pork than shrimp consistency. I did not enjoy the flavor. Not aromatic. I will say, the noodles were great quality. Thin, bouncy, correct texture. What you would hope for. The soup was not good. The roast duck was good, with tender meat and fatty skin. Flavorful with the plum sauce. The fish congee was good, though a bit too runny imo once cooled down. The fried donut (you tiao) was crunchy and very doughy. Would be nice if they could slice it. I can agree with everyone about their thoughts on the 18% mandatory tip fee, it's crazy lol. Mandatory service fee for hk service (which is minimal service). It was so hard to flag down the waiter for refilling water, or to get more napkins. The place was empty and they were on their phone the whole time. Waiting for that automatic tip. Whatever man.
