I was excited to try this pastry place since I saw it in a couple "Bay Area Best" lists. And even though the appearance was very promising I found the pastries pretty mediocre compared to the same price ones in SF. The passion fruit tart appeared to be on a simple side, being just sweet and lacking juiciness/creaminess/crunchiness which you expect from a tart. The almond croissant was totally lacking the lamination; the texture was thick and doughy instead of airy and flaky. It was disappointingly bland (couldn't taste the almond filling at all) and far too heavy + overly sweet. The last thing that was really disappointing- the waiting time for the avocado sandwich. It was like 20+ minutes while the place wasn't even packed. I loved the interior, cute tea cups and workers being welcoming, but its definitely not enough to come here again

The sweetest way to celebrate the holidays. Seasonal tarts and pastries by mademoiselle colette are everything we love about fall, buttery with the right amount of indulgent. Seasonal treats you need to try - Pecan Tart - My fav! Maple syrup whipped ganache, vanilla caramel & toasted pecans for the perfect nuttiness Apple Tart - layers of croissant dough, Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, vanilla & almond cream Pumpkin Tart - It's the perfect fall treat. I love the spiced pumpkin cream contrasted with the caramel in a decadent bite Pastries like Croissant & Kouign Amann - golden and flaky, made with 100% Isigny Butter imported from France. You can taste the quality and crisp, seriously any pastry is amazing. These treats taste like a little moment of joy, which are ideal for gifting, gatherings or your morning coffee ritual.

I'm usually really picky with my coffee and Mademoiselle Colette coffee is really good . Really cute coffee shop . It wasn't too busy and the service was fast .

Can't emphasize how much I love this spot--the food, the outdoor seating truly embracing the Cali sunshine and the downtown Menlo Park tranquil vibe! The pasties, desserts and light meals are all my go-tos!

Have been wanting to visit this place for a while! Came on a weekend after lunch time and there was a small line out the door waiting to order. Got a kouign amann ($5.80) and a passion fruit exotic tart ($10.50) for to-go. They had many desserts and made me want to try all of them. You can't go wrong with their kouign amann and also I just really like it in general for the caramelized, crispy exterior and the buttery exterior. The passion fruit dessert was light, but has a sharp tangy flavor to it, so I could only eat like 1/4 at a time even though it wasn't big at all (maybe would've paired well with a black/green tea or smth). Would return to try their other food and their drinks!

My 3 pals and I arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday and their kitchen just closed, no hot chocolate and only coffee or the bakery items in sight. I asked if they had lemon and honey for a hot tea and they said yes, but I only got sliced limes. The kouign amann, croissant and chocolate croissant were good. Iced tea wasn't strong enough and flat white was ok. I normally like coming by here when I'm in the area but it's good to know the kitchen closes early. I always like the option of hot food or heated pastries.

Hazelnut Cake - sooo good Apple turnovers in the back - didn't care for it

Never had a croissant this bad from a French bakery. This is what I would expect if I buy a big pack from Safeway or Costco... I took a bite & throw it away. It was buttery but no crunch, not flakey and the flavor wasn't even good. Service was good, the person getting our order was nice.

Mademoiselle Colette in Menlo Park is my go-to café and I live in Palo Alto! I found it a few months ago thanks to my best friend, and now we're here 2-3 times a week. The pastries are always fresh and delicious (my favorite pastries are their apple turnover and their seasonal pumpkin travel cake) and , the coffee is top tier, but the staff truly make this place special. Ricardo's customer service is amazing. He's warm, kind, and always makes you feel welcomed. Victoria made the cutest initials on our coffees recently, and it genuinely made our day. Enrique and the rest of the team are also just as awesome. If you haven't been yet, this is your sign to treat yourself (or someone you love) to the best coffee and pastries in town.

Citrus roll. They have beautiful viennoiserie here!

We are so fortunate to have Mme Colette here in Menlo Park. The pastries here are absolutely delightful, whether it's their lovely morning Viennoiserie or their decadent desserts, they're all winners. I'm classically trained in pastry techniques and I appreciate their attention to detail and balanced flavors and textures. Just superb. The shop itself is also light and attractive, and their outdoor dining options are super helpful. First rate experience here. Highly recommended!

    French toast. Not bad!!

Cute spot in downtown Menlo Park with a nice selection of French pastries and traditional breakfast items. Order at the counter, take a number and try to find a seat. They'll (eventually) deliver to the table. For us, it took about 25 min. Tried a croque madame and french toast. Dishes were very well executed and optically pleasing. I thought the French toast portion was on the smaller side, so if you have a big appetite, you may not get filled up. But the dish was flavorful with fresh fruit, whipped cream and maple syrup (on the side). The madame definitely hit the spot and is reminiscent of ones I've tried in Paris. And, the side salad had a nice dressing that counter balanced the dish.

Anyway, we cut a human cupcake in half and shared it. The cake was dry and had very little flavor. It was like eating cardboard with frosting. We tried another one. It had lemon flavored frosting on a cupcake that was dry and had no flavor. Like eating cardboard with lemon flavored frosting. Yucky. Next we cut the chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting in half. I'm not sure if it was because the previous two had been so bad, but the chocolate cake was good and the chocolate frosting was good. We should have stopped while we were ahead. But, we were hopeful the next cupcake would be good. So, we cut a fourth cupcake in half and it was as bad as the first two. If I had known how awful the dozen variety pack would be, I would have just ordered four chocolate cupcakes and called it a win. But, I did not know. So, another big corporation, SuzieCakes, has gotten my $$$dollars and in exchange I got one decent chocolate cupcake and three cardboard tasting cupcakes with frosting and four pupcakes that even the lil pups don't like and eight remaining cupcakes that I'm not enthused about trying. I'll not fall for the SuzieCakes con job again. Next time I'll spend my hard earned $$$ at a place that sells decent pastries. If you want to get some work done here, I'd highly recommend coming early so you can grab a table and to also bring your headphones because it does get busy and loud. They also have WiFi and one single bathroom. Thanks Covour Coffee!

Extremely. Underwhelming…read more Tried four drinks and a pastry. Cold brew is sour. Chalky matcha (psss, spend more as people can taste it). Diluted lattes. The coffee bean choice is in question here. Seems to be the root of all the bad drinks. Well the toppings are sub par as well. The everything croissant with cream cheese saved this from a ZERO star. The people who go here are not real coffee connoisseurs. Careful with the reviews. For the connoisseurs - the drinks are not refined. It's slapped together. It doesn't have the layering connoisseurs seek. Iykyk. I had so much hope, I mean, how bad can a coffee shop be if it's in a coffee town. The decor and vibe is nice, however.

Finding this cafe was the highlight of my trip. I came back for 4 days straight and worked from the…read morecafe, no need to try anywhere else because everything was soooo good. They have wifi for those who need to work remotely and the food was amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Some of my favorites were the beet salad, the ham and cheese croissant sandwich, the Mediterranean sandwich, the apple mini tarts, and the tomato soup. If you're looking for a deal, they have a lunch special from 11 AM to 4 PM That includes a sandwich, a salad, a small pastry and a drink/coffee for $15. The employees are extremely accommodating and provide amazing service. I am allergic to eggs and lactose intolerant. They can modify almost everything based on dietary restrictions. I also tend to struggle with gluten (Im not celiac) but had no issues with their croissants. They use really fresh ingredients and everything's clearly made day of. I'm a big foodie and I also enjoy cooking a lot and I am generally not easy to please when it comes to food. You truly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. A must try!!!!

I mean no ill will but I could not finish the cake slice I got with along other people. The lavender butter cream frosting was good but the cake portion was so dry it was really difficult to eat. I'm giving a three star review because the kind staff member who helped me helped me fast/wrote a message on my cake.
