Today casually I stopped by this doughnut shop in Torrance, I sis ally visit the one in the San Fernando Valley, where I live. So looking for a coffee spot I came here, and I am amazed by the service the morning staff gives you. I mean, from the minute you walk in until you leave, you feel special, this is just for buying a cup of coffee. I am from Central America and I am sure some of these ladies, if not all may be from there as well. I was out for a walk, trying to get my steps in and decided to reward myself on the way home. I decided to go in just for a few donut holes but then got distracted by their glass case that has so many different pretty and delicious looking offerings. I saw the croissant rolls with fruit and I asked what flavors and the attentive and super friendly person behind the counter said pineapple I think and guava and I immediately said yes to the guava. I did order a dozen donut holes and I got a few extra donuts for my daughter to have for breakfast tomorrow. Sidenote, I was amazed by how many people were in there eating lunch because it just never done me to go to a donut shop for lunch but it sounds like they have some good options. Overall, I feel like Yum Yum donuts taste like the ones that you can buy in convenience stores wrapped in plastic. So it is a sweet fix, but the dough is just heavier or lacks the air spaces to make it feel lighter. Maybe it's because I waited till the afternoon I went in about 1 PM perhaps if I went first thing in the morning things would taste a little bit fresher. Still, I would be tempted to go back and try a lunchtime option someday plus they have a bunch of really fun drinks to try. Because it is so close to my house I'm sure I will be back. read more

I recently was in Torrence, California on a business trip. The customer stated that YUM YUM Donuts are the best in the area. Upon entering, I saw the place was very clean and the decor was great. I was welcomed by the staff and they helped me right away. I noticed they great all the customers with a nice, welcoming smile. I come here often and usually get their bagels or freshly squeezed orange juice. The bagels are always fresh with lots of cream cheese! The orange juice is a hidden gem. This is a Yum Yum Donuts by a freeway, so my expectations were obviously low. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the greatest Donut Shop I have ever witnessed in 20 years! The meal deals are mad value for breakfast and I have never had morning calories go down easier. I'm a big fan of the carnitas torta as well as the jalapeno chips surprisingly enough. It made me rethink my whole perspective on chips. Moreover, the donuts taste good and I have never gotten a wrong item in my order, even though I consistently place consecutive orders for five people and hold up the line. Finally stopped by this place after driving by it for 20 or so years. They have a wide variety of selections as per the usual Donot shops go, including sandwiches and of course I got a Bear Claw. The claw was fluffy and had a slight crunch initially with a soft inside. The apple filling was the normal industry standard. Not overly cinnamony and sweet. But it did not ooze out when taking bites. Unfortunately the Claw was medium in size as compared to other places that I have been to, but tasted good. read more

I purchased 2 dozen small holiday donuts and she told Me she had to put them in bags, i told her that they were for a gift and if she could please put them in a holiday box that she had there, she said no and keep insisting in putting them in bags, i told her why was she making a big deal about the box and to put them in the box, she then Proceeded to tell me she was going to charge me $2 for the box, i told her fine to just do it. Torrance Food Crawl #90 I'm not a donut person so I was here mainly to check out their sandwiches. Walking in I was struck by the cool, even cold, interior. I regretted leaving my jacket back home. I ordered the $6.99 Meal Deal which includes any sandwich, a soft drink, and chips. I went with the Hot Black Forest Ham sandwich. As one gal started to make the sandwich another gal came by and asked if I ordered and if I wanted anything else. I told her I ordered the meal deal but would also like a cake donut. She didn't seem to know what I asked for, or maybe she didn't hear me clearly, so I pointed at one of them in the case. She picked one up and asked if I wanted a plain donut. OK, I guess one person's "cake donut" is another person's "plain donut." Then she started pouring a cup of coffee. I thought for someone else. Nope, it was for me. OK, I didn't say anything to her that it wasn't what I ordered but the coldness of the interior changed my mind so I accepted the coffee. When the sandwich was ready, no chips were provided. OK, I really wasn't in the mood for potato chips anyway, so I didn't say anything. The sandwich was on what I think was a bagel, an onion bagel in my case. The sandwich fillings were messy but good. The bread part tasted like a bagel. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to order this sandwich any time in the future. As I said earlier I'm not much of a donut eater and the rare times I actually have one nowadays is usually limited to a cake donut. I've heard from more than one person, and I agree, that one can best judge the quality of a donut by sampling the simplest and most basic donut, that is, a cake donut. My cake donut was sweet, too sweet, and perhaps the sweetest cake donut I've ever eaten. Cake donuts usually have a much simpler non-sweet taste and I'm not accustomed to them being so much on the sugary side. For this trip I wasn't all that impressed. However, I've stopped here in the past and bought donuts for work and my workmates all seemed to like the donuts so this outlet is acceptable in that respect. read more

Went in for breakfast and ordered a bagel. NP. Sit down and wait. And wait. Other customer comes in and orders and goes. I walk up and all 4 employees were standing around talking in Spanish. I say to one of them, "If you are not going to make my bagel then I want my money back." She tells me no. Where is my bagel? No. Give me my money! No. Now I start yelling and screaming and demanding my $2. I am making a huge scene. It is embarrassing but at the same time they would not make the bagel or give me a refund. Then I see them all talking in Spanish about it and I realize not one employee speaks English here. So at some point one of the days, "bagel and then sorry." She gives me my money back. I am still angry (and hungry) so I have a few more harsh words. Not to get too political here, but this company seems to just hire people I suspect they can pay below minimum wage and treat bad. With 55,000 homeless in Los Angeles it is companies like this one. Not one person who speaks English. And who could work here and make minimum wage and earn a living? So I am not happy I yelled at these poor women who had no idea why I was yelling at them. They hear refund and repeated, "No." They made a mistake and lacked the language to fix it. These workers only care about flirting with the near by construction workers. WHICH is fine but don't neglect my order because of it. My order was severely delayed, it was finished on the counter and the lady was just flirting away. Then she almost charged me 3 bagel sandwiches instead of 2 and 1 croissant.
