Lee's Sandwiches in Gardena made my quick stop a breeze. I swung by for a turkey and cheese sandwich, and the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Ambience is very casual. Plenty of parking is available, though the shop sits tucked into the corner of a busy strip with several other businesses. FOOD ALLERGY ALERT: I am posting this review to alert others with food allergies to be careful when ordering from this location. Yesterday, I ordered a sea salt caramel latte. The drink I received appears to have been made with an alternative milk -- likely soy or almond. I am allergic to soy and most tree nuts. After taking two sips on my way to work, I experienced a multi-system allergic reaction: vomiting, severe itching in my ears, mouth, and throat, throat swelling, and severe stomach pain. The reaction was severe enough that I had to pull over on the freeway. Although I was eventually able to bring the reaction under control with medication, I missed a full day of work and continued to feel unwell for the rest of the day. I am still feeling adverse effects as a result of this mistake. Be careful if you have food allergies. I hope that this location will take this incident seriously and work to ensure that procedures in place at this store will prevent anything like this from happening in the future. read more

This Lee's Coffee location charges more than other locations I've been to. They also never seem to have specials like other locations do. For example, some spots offer discounted bánh mì if you purchase an iced coffee. On my last visit, I was disappointed to find out they no longer serve the baked ham & cheese croissant. Honestly, that croissant was the main reason I came here, since the other Lee's near me doesn't carry it. I ended up getting a pork pate chaud. It was flaky and tasty, and the pork filling was juicy. I also bought my boyfriend a combination bánh mì and was shocked to see it's now $10.29. I understand inflation and all, but sheesh--that price for a bánh mì feels a bit much, even in today's economy. I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee, which I really like here. We visited Lee's Sandwich Shop on a warm Sunday afternoon after a leisurely bike ride. The shop had a single staff member attending to customers who came in waves, it a casual fast food with tables & chairs, casual noise level. I ordered the Veggie Spring roll, I expected it to include rice noodles, lettuce, carrots, cilantro, and maybe cucumbers. The roll, however, contained rice noodles, lettuce, and crunchy toppings, with a side of soy sauce, which did not meet my expectations. Although the dish was edible, I felt it was NOT worth ordering. I stopped by Lee's to try the most talked about coffee which is their original vanilla Vietnamese coffee. My sister and I had a long day and need something to offer us a load of energy. I loved the way the inside had so much to offer as a purchase outside of the menu options. I wish I would've gotten a pick. Once I ordered my drink the line quickly built up, I am eager to come back and try other menu items. Amazing Vietnamese Iced Mocha Coffee,and recently tried their breakfast sandwich(#82) , served on a fresh baked baguette roll. It's came with bacon,ham,egg and cheese. Made to order so it takes about 5 minutes depending on how busy it is. There's condiment packets like mayo and mustard if you choose. I've been back a few times for the breakfast sandwiches but haven't tried others. Their signature Lee's Coffee! Oh my. Get the big one iced. Don't embarrass yourself by asking for no ice but to fill to the top. It won't happen. I've seen people been rejected and angry. Finally tried this place for the first time. Well, I wasn't impressed. I ordered the turkey club with bacon. The good: the baguette. Fresh and light. Bread: 10/10 The bad: where's the meat??? I had so much bread (at both ends) that had nothing but that weird tasting cheese and lettuce in between. I usually do not get their drinks this time I happen to get a smoothie because this particular location on Artesia has smoothies and they carry other products than the other locations I've been in, which is a good thing that's not a bad thing. I got avocado smoothie and upon drinking it to the last bit I have inserted a picture there is a tag of some sort in my drink. Now good thing it wasn't something like hair or a bug but this is not good either because I could've swallowed it and choked cause it literally did go in my mouth as you say I'm using a Boba straw and I'm easily to gross out, so I almost vomited in my mouth because of realizing that went in my mouth and I didn't know what it was. It almost looked like it could be a fruit or a vegetable label I don't know and I don't care but yikes. I'm not sure how long this has been circulating around inside of their machines or drink. It has been circulating. A smoothie is wet and all of the ink has came off the label or that it's circulating around in their machines or something. I don't know, but I just wanted to report this and hopefully they will be more careful with peoples food orders. I believe that the sticker is fresh because it's still actually stickiness so I don't think it's super old. Compared to other lees that I've gone to my 18 years of living this lee's is by far the best lees ever. To the awesome costumer service to the quality of the drinks and sandwich's it's all super good and made with love. I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but I have to speak on this. I was really looking forward to my grilled chicken croissant sandwich from Lee's Sandwiches before starting a long shift at work. This was supposed to be the highlight of my day until I unwrapped my sandwich and found a damn fly inside of it. Not on it. Not flying around. DEAD INSIDE THE ACTUAL SANDWICH. Let that sink in. A fly was baked into my food like it was part of the recipe. I don't know who the owner is, but this is absolutely unacceptable. Food safety clearly isn't being taken seriously at this location. It's one thing to get a wrong order or experience a delay it's another thing entirely to bite into your meal and discover an insect corpse waiting for you. Lee's Sandwiches do better. This is how people get sick. You've officially lost a customer, and I won't be recommending this place to anyone until I know food prep and hygiene are actually being enforced behind the counter. read more

I remember getting the Vietnamese coffee at other locations before but I am not sure if it is this location or not - I got just the iced coffee and it was so full of ice that I could not even sip any of the coffee out of it. There is a large sign when you order that states "requesting less ice in your drink will not be topped off with more coffee". I can see why they have this sign. I like ice A LOT in my drinks but even this was ridiculous. It was also very expensive for a coffee. I ordered a large and it was the size of a grande maybe and really had so much ice in it that the straw was crushed between the cubes of ice. I remember when I first had a Lee's Vietnamese coffee it was great and nothing like this. A total rip off and I think whoever is in charge is trying to get away with it. Very sad. read more

I am so frustrated and tired of the coffee machines at this location, being broken. I wait in a very long line for up to 15 minutes sometimes. I finally worked my way up to the register to put my order in and for the third time now and probably two months I am told "we don't have hot coffee, the machine is broken." Located off Artesia Bl. In Gardena. They finally opened one closer by me. They have one in Torrance by Wilson Park surprisingly I never been to that one. There is a lot of parking that is shared with all the other businesses in the center. Inside they have a few tables and restrooms. I got an European Sandwich the #23 ham, turkey and cheese and a strawberry and Banana smoothie. The service was good and the Sandwich was good I'll get it again. Not to be effed up but the young kids here don't know what they're doing. 4/22/25 whoever that kid was at the register around 12:30pm is a bit sl0w. I asked if he had quarters while I was getting my change after my order and he looked confused as heck like I was speaking another language. He looked around and gave me a weird look as if I said something wrong. I repeated myself and even tried to explain with my fingers in the shape of a circle to show what a quarter was. I was even polite about it if he had enough and he said yeah. I asked for $3 worth and then asks me if I wanted $5. So in my head I assumed he was offering more in quarters so I said yeah. I think he totally blanked out and forgot and gave me a five dollar bill instead and closed the register lol what the f. Either that or he still didn't understand what I was saying. The kid can easily get distracted or confused. I also asked how much their bag was and none of the guys had no clue. They had to text the manager, which was fine. He had to help another customer so I wasn't going to wait around. I started Googling the item and found it on Temu for 3 bucks. The stuff they sell on the side aren't authentic. But I have 2 gripes Each time quality is different. The bread old or hard; the amount of vegetables which is important for my health is not consistent; : I tried the same sandwich but chicken and there was minimal veggies. The menu says jalapenos but if you order online, you may not get them and they don't cut in half. Today, my grilled bbq pork sandwich had jalapenos but minimal vegetables and the sesame balls were burnt. I think if I was able to order in person, it might have been better but had delivered. Macarons first of all are so good. The texture is soft and the taste is just right. Compared to other macarons I've tried, theirs is the closest to the ones I've had in Paris. Their coffee is strong, but has the perfect amount of sweetness and the crushed ice is my favorite. The milk tea is great too, although the boba could be squishier. The bread is baked fresh so of course the texture is balanced with a crispy exterior and soft and spongy interior. Although, the ingredients inside didn't taste all that exciting. Its been over 10 years since my last visit and don't recall what I had the last time I was here. I went with #5 - grilled pork and order of egg rolls. I asked for extra cilantro. The bread was good, however the meat to veggie ratios were very off. The grilled pork was decent, but maybe because I came around 2pm, the meat tasted as its been sitting around for some time. That extra cilantro - no where to be found unfortunately. The sandwich is plenty for one, but two people share and have a good meal. The egg rolls were good, can't go wrong with fried food :) The interior was simple and ease going - front of the store had the bar seating, to the back were the tables and the restroom.
