Stopped here for lunch en route to White Sands National Park from Santa Fe and the claims about it being a "hidden gem" were true! I never thought a place called Yum-Yum's in such a small town would serve such wonderful Mexican food. It's a completely no frills, cash only type of place but the service is super friendly and attentive. We just felt so welcome here. The food is affordable, their sopapilla is perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection, and we loved both the Navajo Taco and Stuffed Sopapilla. After a few hours of adventure in White Sands National Park, we drove to Tularosa to eat at Yum-Yum's. We knew from reviews that one of their specialties was the Navajo tacos. The five of us found a nice table outside of their restaurant surrounded by Virginia Creeper (vines) to have our lunch. We had four Navajo tacos, a burrito and a cheeseburger. One of the Navajo tacos was with beef brisket and three were with ground beef. The fry bread was of excellent quality, and my wife and I have had a lot of Navajo tacos in the past. Everything was very tasty and the service was great. We brought home a variety of donuts, etc. from their bakery to try later. From reviews they should also be very good. read more

We were the on 11/25 because I had a fry bread craving and found them on yelp. We had the Navajo Tacos. It is cozy little place that also serves donuts. The food was delicious and the nice lady who was at the shop even gave us complementary donuts which were also delicious. We would come back if in the area. read more

What a treat! Off the beaten path, in a tiny little run down looking house with a worn out sign, some would pass this up. Ask a local where to get a bonafide, homemade New Mexican meal and they will send you here. It's a full menu, and everything we had was delicious. I highly recommend anything with the brisket. The service was excellent, the menu had lots of great options and the boys and I loved the food. A hit with everyone. We wish we had found Yum-Yuma's sooner. This looks like it would be a great spot, but when you walk in you notice how small and dirty the place is. The waitress had dirty fingernails, but we decided to try the food. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon, which took 45 minutes to make it to me. When the waitress with the dirty fingernails brought my food out to me and I saw that it wasn't what I ordered, I let it slide. I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for something that takes 5 minutes to make. I take a couple of bites and the bacon burger was ok...until the third bite. It tasted like mold. I spit the burger out and tried the other side, moldy again. I spit the food out. The burger was undercooked and the bacon was all chopped up. I didn't see any mold, but I tasted it. It was bad. I have worked in the food industry, so wanted to let them know they need to throw something out. I took my plate inside and the cook or owner comes out and is fingering through my burger. She tells me everything is fresh. She then calls across the room and asks the line gentlemen if he likes his food. I get gaslit and no apology. I would have paid for the burger, but I didn't need to be treated that way. The food wasn't fresh, the place wasn't clean, and the service was terrible. Zero stars if possible. read more

Superb!!!! Donuts are fresh & melt in your mouth. Seating is a bit tight quarters but so Worth it!!!! Cheeseburgers are the BOMB! I ordered Ranch burrito. I had the Navajo Taco (brisket), the meat was good, the bread/tortilla was amazing and fresh...the overall flavor was a little bland, but as a total package it was a good meal and a neat environment. The donut was really, really good. Soft and cakey...a unique (in a good way) texture and flavor. The service was great, the waitress was really friendly, helpful, and attentive.
