Food foul, taco no crunch. Authentic should not be used to describe this location. Service was awesome though.

Chips, sour cream, dip, and salsa with my iced tea. Waiting for the platter. Some of the best sweet iced tea I've had in months .

It can be a little bit hit or miss, but it's always good Today it was great. Probably one of the best meals I've had in a Mexican food restaurant. They are always extremely busy but very quick and extremely nice to the customer. It's actually cheaper than most of the places along the trip, but that's not why I went. I was just hungry. Lol.

We were seated immediately by, I think, the restaurant owner. She was sweet and mentioned we came at a great time on Friday night (4:15p). Our waitstaff was nice, fairly attentive. They serve a good salsa & chips, along with a sour cream jalapeno dip, which was different. Our food came out piping hot and well prepared. The tasty dishes were generously portioned. We enjoyed ourselves.

In my opinion this restaurant is more of a New Mexican restaurant. The white sauce they brought along with the red salsa with our chips is very reminiscent of the sauce they put in gyros back in Germany at a Turkish Gyro Shop. It's good but felt out of place. The green chicken is an enchiladas weren't rolled, just some flat corn tortillas with green sauce, shredded chicken and then cheese on top. The flavor was lacking, the rice was ok, didn't really eat the beans. My kid ordered a bean and cheese burrito from the kids menu and the only cheese on the burrito was the one sprinkled on top of it, I've never seen that anywhere else. The green chile posole tasted exactly like green chile stew, very small portion though, especially for the price. They offer various soft drink options and a few beer selections, there is a two beer limit per customer. Service was just ok, we didn't really get checked on but once. Prices are a little high, they do prefer you pay in cash. The restaurant has plenty of seating, clean bathrooms. They do offer orders to go. Honestly, I doubt I'll eat here again.

Closer to 3.5 stars for me. With a full parking lot and the reviews we expected this place to be really good. The decor is southwest design and the place was clean. We were greeted at the door and sat promptly. We were given chips, salsa, and a very different kind of white sauce and the runner got us our drinks. The white sauce was like a French onion dip mixed with sour cream. It was a bit different for a Mexican food restaurant but my family did enjoy it. The chips were tasty and had some great seasoning on it. Our server brought us a refill on our chips but we asked the runner the second time for some more white sauce. She said ok but never brought us any. I'm not sure what happened there. We waited a while for our server to come (atleast ten minutes) and help us. We asked for recommendations and were told everything was good so we just ordered. We got a chili rellenos plate and CJ's combo plate to try a bit of everything. The green chili posole came out pretty quick. It was nice and hot and had great flavor. I'm a huge fan of hominy so I enjoyed it. There was maybe one small chunk of pork in my cup but it was tender and good. The rest of our food took a while to get to us also. The plates were just okay. Portions are a lot smaller than we are used to. The chili rellenos plate comes with two but they are not big. I'd say you get about 1/8 cup of beans and 1/4 cup of rice. It is spread out so it looks like there is a larger portion. The rellenos were flavorful and tasty. The red and green sauce on top was good also. The CJ's combo was mediocre. It was a small tamale, small cheese enchilada, and my taco shell was stale. I would not order this plate again. The combo reminded me of a Patio tv dinner. It wasn't the worst food or worst service ever but it definitely wasn't a top 10 either. I will say I actually did leave hungry. If you are a small eater or want a lighter lunch, this could be your place. I'm not sure our group would go back.

I saw this restaurant was one of the top rated in Alamogordo, so we decided to stop for lunch. We waited about 20 minutes on a Tuesday for a table for two. After we ordered, it took an extremely long time for the food to arrive. I very rarely comment on long food wait times, but this wait time was truly impressive. I got the Tuesday special, which was just two tacos with rice and beans. I did not know the tacos were going to come in a hard shell. They weren't very great, and the only sauce that came with them was scarily hot. The beans were like solid chunks when I tried to eat them. Very strange. However, this meal was sufficient for a hungry hiker. We had sopapillas, which were a very tasty dessert and very well priced. The staff were very friendly, and the decor inside was very nice, far exceeding the vibes of the past roadside taquerias I've been to.

Took the advice of Yelp to try this place out while we were in Alamogordo. We're happy we did. There was 7 of us so we knew it would take a while to get seated. But we were there less than 5 minutes and were seated. We had a wonderful waitress she smiled and was attentive. We all ordered and ate the chips and salsa she provided. The place was packed so it took a little while for the food which was ok. I ordered the CJ combo. It included a cup of posole. Wow was it good. The rest of the food came out and was really good. Yes we would go back when in town.

For the past 10 days traveling AZ and NM, I have been craving good Mexican food. My hotel recommended and Si Senor and it did not disappoint. The outside of the building doesn't look like much, but that's true of many really good places. Inside I was immediately welcomed and seated. My waitress appeared immediately and was pleasant and efficient, bringing chips & salsa & ranch dressing. I ordered 2 Chile Rellanos in red sauce with double refried beans and no rice. My entree appeared in under 10 minutes and was delicious! Portion was generous. With an iced tea, cost was $16. Would have been 5 stars from me except probably half the tables that I walked by and where I was seated had not been cleared and had dirty plates just sitting there. Not very appetizing. Definitely will return!

My hubby wanted to try CJ's Si Senor restaurant. I prefer family owned taqueria's for delicious ethnic Mexican food. We both ordered the Fiesta combo (chicken or beef); Posole - red or green,1 cheese chili Relleno, 2 ground beef enchiladas, 1 crispy ground beef taco, refried beans and rice. Your choice of red or green sauce, we asked for half & half. Average taco, ground beef enchiladas below average, cheese chili Relleno - not very cheesy. The red sauce was a little bitter, where is the green sauce was very tasty. The refried beans and rice - bland. The red pork Posole; very tender chunks of pork with tender flavorful hominy (meaning it was slow cooked in the red sauce) We topped the soup with the chopped onions and cilantro. The Posole was delicious!!!

The manager incorrectly stated that service dogs must wear a vest to be recognized as service animals and demanded that we provide a "service animal certificate." We were then told that such certificates were not valid and that service animals must be registered in New Mexico before being allowed into the restaurant. None of these statements are consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service dogs are not required to wear vests, carry certificates, or be registered with any state in order to access public accommodations. It is deeply concerning that a manager responsible for serving the public appears to have such a poor understanding of federal disability law. The experience was embarrassing, discriminatory, and completely unnecessary. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States with my service dogs and have never been treated this way. I strongly encourage management to educate staff on ADA requirements before another customer is subjected to the same treatment. Until then, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone who relies on a service animal.

McDonald's: A Michelin-Starred Fever Dream in the Heart of the Drive-Thru…read moreListen, I've dined at places where the sommelier whispers sweet nothings about terroir and the chef sends out complimentary amuses-bouches that look like edible jewelry. But nothing--nothing--prepared me for the transcendent, multi-course gastronomic odyssey that is McDonald's at approximately 6:47 PM on a random Tuesday. Four of us walked in expecting greasy efficiency. Instead, we received a meticulously paced, avant-garde tasting menu that would make Thomas Keller weep into his foam. The Amuse-Bouche Phase: Chaos as Palate Cleanser We approached the counter like wide-eyed pilgrims. The gentleman working the register (our personal maître d' for the evening) greeted us with the warm enthusiasm of someone who had already emotionally checked out sometime during the Obama administration. Orders were placed. Numbers were assigned. We retreated to our booth to await enlightenment. This is where the artistry began. My friend--let's call him the sacrificial lamb of our party--became the unwitting recipient of a three-wave progressive tasting. First came someone else's order. Then another stranger's order. Then a third, completely unrelated bag that may or may not have contained the dreams of a previous customer. Each time, he politely returned it, only for the kitchen to respond with the serene confidence of a chef who knows his vision cannot be rushed. It was like watching a sommelier insist you try three different vintages before finding the one. Except the vintages were all lukewarm Filet-O-Fish. By the time our actual food arrived, we were emotionally invested. The delay had built anticipation better than any $400 tasting menu. Hunger is the best sauce, after all, and we were marinating in it. The Main Course: Symphony of Salt and Regret The food itself? Impeccable in its McDonald's way. The fries achieved that rare, fleeting crispiness that occurs roughly once every lunar cycle. The burgers were... present. The McNuggets had that satisfying mechanical texture that says, "Yes, I was once a chicken. Probably." But the true brilliance was in the service cadence. This wasn't fast food. This was slow food, baby. A deliberate, almost confrontational pacing that forced us to engage in actual conversation. We discussed life, dreams, and whether the guy in the booth next to us was having a better experience. It felt curated. Intentional. Like the restaurant had decided we needed this time to digest both the food and our life choices. The Dessert Course: A Surprise Epilogue Ah, but the pièce de résistance--the moment that elevated this from "Tuesday dinner" to "performance art." We had ordered desserts. They were forgotten. Naturally. Then, approximately 12 minutes after we'd finished our mains and were debating whether to just leave, the desserts arrived. Not as an afterthought. No. They were presented with the quiet dignity of a final, triumphant course. The employee approached our table like a server delivering the cheese trolley at Eleven Madison Park. "Desserts," he intoned, as if bestowing holy relics. It was perfect. They had clearly been holding these McFlurries and apple pies in the back, aging them to the precise temperature of mild disappointment, waiting for the exact theatrical moment when we no longer expected joy. The McFlurry was... swirling. The apple pie burned the roof of my mouth in that traditional, loving way. We ate them with the solemn reverence usually reserved for molecular gastronomy. It felt like the restaurant was saying: "You thought this was over? Darling, we're just getting started. Here is your sweet, delayed gratification. Savor it."
