It started with a cold day in Houston, if that's a real thing, when I was craving something warm! What better than a good bowl of Pho!!! I've passed this place a many times, as they're right next door to my nail salon, and I wish I knew about them sooner!! I came in to grab something to go and wa delightfully happy with the outcome! The place was nice and bright, not too small, not too, large, just the perfect size! I was greeted quickly by what I believe is the owner and her daughter. As I perused the menu, I quickly decided upon the filet pho! It comes raw and the beef is thinly sliced so it cooks beautifully in the hot broth! I took it to go an couldn't wait to give it a go when I got home! It was packed beautifully and I started to build my bowl. But of course I had to take a sip of the broth while building and it stayed super hot! It was soooo good! All the flavors of the broth were sooo good, you could just drink that as is! The filet melted in my mouth with each bite of the noodles fresh herbs! I like extra limes to brighten it up, and it just works! My husband and I were actually trying to find another boba place in the same complex and stumbled into this place instead. We ended up staying to try the food since there were more Vietnamese food selections to try. We ordered Goi Cuon (Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls), Banh Mi Thit Nuong (BbQ Pork Sandwich), and Bo Luc Lac (Shaken Beef). For the drink, we tried the Yumi Milk Tea Special. They actually brought out fried eggrolls at first, which wasn't what we ordered. After sharing that with the cashier, the change was quickly made and the appetizer was swapped out. Then came the other dishes and the drink. Taste wise, everything tasted on point for Vietnamese food. My husband really liked the Shaken Beef Sauce - Savory with a slight sweetness to it. I did notice the beef portion is somewhat smaller compared to other Vietnamese places I've tried this dish. I also have a certain preference for my Banh Mi bread so thought the one here was okay. It's not bad but I can tell the difference in the texture. The Yumi Milk Tea Special was interesting. It tasted like a blend of Milk Tea and Che Ba Mau, a Vietnamese dessert. There was milk tea, boba, grass jelly, read beans, and basil seeds. I liked these ingredients/toppings so I enjoyed it. Ambiance wise, we came around 3pm for a late lunch and were the only ones there. We had our kid too so it was nice to not feel like we were bothering anyone when he got a bit ancy. There was a high chair to use and the back area had chopsticks, spoons, forks, and knives to grab. The lady that took our order was very sweet and checked on us a little later to make sure everything was okay. A few other dine in notes: Since there was an order mix up, suggesting to grab a receipt. It just makes it easier to bring up the topic if there's an error and gives them the chance to fix it. Also, the number and food pictures don't line up. For example, we wanted the Shaken Beef. I can't remember what number it was on the menu but the supposed photo for it was a chicken dish. I would suggest to double check by asking and confirming what you want for the order. Overall, good but didn't feel wow to me. Lastly, there is a buy 2, get 1 free special on the drinks right now but we saw the sign for it after eating. This is a good deal especially if you're planning to buy 3 or more drinks. read more

We were told by some friends about this new Vietnamese spot on 249 @ Spring Cypress that opened a few months ago, and since we always love supporting local small businesses, we made sure to stop by after church this morning. My wife and I were immediately greeted by a nice young man named Bill, who when told it was our first time visiting made us feel welcomed and appreciated. That was a wonderful first impression and it only got better from that point. They offered rhe full menu even though it was only 10:30am and they had nice selections at fair & reasonable prices listed on their large easy-to-read digital display next to the counter. We wanted to support this family-owned business so we kinda over ordered and each item was fresh, hot and delicious. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi and Pho Dac Biet was authentic and all the appetizers (Chả Giò, Goi Guong, Spicy Popcorn Chicken) hit the spot while we waited for the main entrees. We also had a chance to meet one of rhe partners, Chef Jimmy, who is an uncle to family. He also showed us he appreciated our business and showed us what a to-go platter looked like and we'll be sure to order that entree the next time we visit. It's a tough time for everyone these past few years and we have to be careful how and where we spend our money, but be assured it's money well spent if you allow this delightful little restaurant and it's family a chance to earn your business and hard-earned money. I came for the combination sandwich but they don't have it anymore :( I just ordered the brown sugar milk tea and popcorn chicken spicy. Not sure why he charged me an extra .75 for brown sugar when on the menu it said 6.25. I added boba which was .75 so I ended up paying almost $16. Food came out in less than 5 minutes Brown sugar milk tea was good. Not too sweet. Popcorn chicken was tasty. Perfectly spiced Was a bit pricy and small portions. I visited this new spot that has a combo of food and milk teas. They have 2 dedicated parking spots in front, so parking should never be an issue. Probably not the best idea to order poke at a vietnamese sandwich shop, but I wasn't in the mood for anything on their regular vietnamese menu. They don't have a large selection of poke toppings compared to standard restaurants that sell mostly poke. However, they do have a topping many don't, the ika salad. I chose regular, which comes with 2 scoops, and the scoops are really small. You don't get a lot of protein. You would be better off getting a Vermicelli bowl because It's about 3x the meat. I also sampled the pork vermicelli bowl, which, as I said, comes with a lot of meat. This is served cold, though. I also tried the egg sandwich, which is pretty standard for a banh mi. The day I visited, 1 day after grand opening, they did not have jalapeños, so they gave me sliced thai chili instead. Overall, I would say it's a decent spot for basic vietnamese food and basic boba drinks and basic poke. read more

We ordered two pho to go. We usually visit the one by Home Depot, where the food has always been good. Yesterday, however, we decided to try Yumi Café in Tomball since it's nearby. We should have turned back when we saw the price was double what we normally pay for the same dishes at other Vietnamese restaurants. They even added a 20% tip upfront without asking--especially surprising for takeout, where tipping isn't typically expected. The order also took much longer than at other places. When we got home and opened the bag, we found a thick, unpleasant layer of oil floating in the broth. The egg rolls were even worse--almost no vegetables, and the so-called "meat" didn't even look like meat. They were so bad we had to throw everything away and ended up eating oatmeal instead. Went during their BOGO so got a couple drinks sine it was next door to the nail salon I frequent. Initially ordered a Fresh milk w/ brown sugar and an oreo drink for a friend. I realized I didn't actually order a milk tea so I went back after to order another - no big, my mistake although 6.25 for a milk with brown sugar syrup seems steep. I ordered the house milk tea along with another drink, quoted 10-15min (40 mins before closing) and it was busy. Received it 26min later... again not a huge deal but at that point I was in a hurry to get home. I get in my Car to put the straw in and immediately couldn't poke thru the ice. I finished my drink before I reached Klein Cain which is down the road and realized my drink was completely full of ice. The tea itself was fine, just wish I had more of it. I think it they were in a rush and either overfillled bc of that or maybe they ran out of milk tea and tried to cover it up? (My fresh milk with brown sugar had a normal amount of ice) Who knows, it was just frustrating fishing for my crystal boba since I was having to pick up the straw and poke it down over and over. The lid keeps tearing and big chunks of ice would fly out into my lap which was kind of wild. I will probably go back out of convenience, the menu looks good and prices on par with a pho restaurant, so I'm not opposed to trying the food. I will however ask for light ice on the future for drinks. BTW I did seee an order that had drinks with no ice and they were filled 2/3 up with drink so I was obviously overfilled with ice... see attached pic. read more

Colorful. bright cheerful little cafe. Very clean and tidy. The woman behind the counter greeted us warmly and was very attentive. We ordered the vermicelli bowl with pork and egg rolls, and a side of shrimp spring rolls. Food was ultra fresh and in fact the vermicelli was made and cooked after we placed order-no premade items here! Only downside was that the nuoc mam was sweeter than we are used to (a VERY minor quibble at best). The strawberry lemonade was an unusual item-it had 'berries' of some sort in the bottom of the cup-a new experience for us. We would highly recommend Yumi Cafe for Vietnamese standards. read more

The Pho was great. I personally had the Shrimp Pho. The broth itself was fantastic. Added some fixings to it like lime, cilantro, bean sprouts, etc and it was just so good. Ordered a side of noodles and the side of noodles alone was almost the same size as the bowl of pho. Customer service was perfect. Very friendly and courteous. This is such a cute little cafe. I'm a huge fan of their boba! They use real tea leaves and they get their flavors just right. I also had one of the best bowls of phở I've ever had here. Their broth was so full of flavor, I didn't need to add any extra sauces to it. I've had my fair share of phở and most restaurants make their broth taste watered down.
