This is by far the best pho I've ever had. I've been obsessed with pho for the last 15 years since I moved to Houston next to the galleria. I ordered once on door dash and was blown away on how just the broth was without anything added. I crave this when I'm sick on a cold day and sometimes when it's under none of these conditions. My family and I always order the spring rolls and fight over them. I usually order the shrimp pho and my son and daughter always go with the pho vien. I once drove to the location and it's a little bit of a hold in the wall and extremely casual but they do not skimp on the good. I've never had a stale noodle or less than perfect broth sometimes restaurants struggle to maintain consistency this place hits every time. I'm honestly surprised it's not more talked about. They used to be fair priced, now they price gouge. For example, their rare beef soup is like 12.95, and then togo, its + a 1$ or something. You can get their combo which comes with only the spring roll (not vietnamese roll) and a drink, but the drink is only iced tea, a soda is 1$ extra or pay extra for vietnamese rolls. Their vietnamese rolls used to be fair priced at around 4$ for 3, now they are 8$. For comparison, there is a place by my work with a 4.8* review and their same pho bowl (BUT LARGE and with more meat) is 10.95, their vietnamese rolls are 3.95$ for 3. Such a shame because Thu Thu has pretty good food, they just price gouge. read more

I arrive there at 11 AM as soon as opened to get Takeaway. Small nice clean restaurants. Young man, taking orders and waiting on tables. He was not overly friendly, but he was nice. I ordered shrimp fried rice. order of cheese puffs and two Vietnamese eggrolls. The cheese pass were smaller than I have gotten in the past. There were five of them. They were fried perfection very good. Vietnamese eggrolls first time I had them were different and what I'm used to. But they were very good also. Shrimp fried rice was delicious and got plenty of it. Shrimp fried seem to be a little healthier version than Chinese fried rice. I will go there again. And highly recommend it. I've heard that the owners were very friendly. They may not have been there. It would've been nicer if the young man had been more friendly. Stopped in for lunch today, and it was great decision. Nice neighborhood location, quick service. I ordered the combination pho which was excellent and hot, with generous amount of meats. Also had the cold cut meat banh mi, except with a croissant. Tasty sandwich, and so happy it includes paté since so many banh mi places now omit the paté, it seems. I love the buttery croissant over the traditional baguette which always tears up the roof of my mouth. This will be my Go To banh mi place now. Can't wait to come back! read more

Run don't walk, to the next fun dining spot, a little Vietnamese sandwich shop sitting in a small strip mall. This place was recommended to us by a lady we were talking to in a different restaurant and the subject came up of locally owned little places that had wonderful food. So off we went the next time we were looking for a little dining adventure. Mr. Picky was not in the mood for cold spring rolls and so we first ordered and shared hot Vietnamese fried egg rolls, quite a bit different to a Chinese egg roll, and we both decided we liked it. It comes served with a little side of fresh lettuce, and cilantro, and a couple other things and you can wrap it up or eat it any which way you like. The next dish we shared was Bun Vermicelli which comes with lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, crushed peanuts, green onions, and fried onions. Because we didn't know if we would prefer the char-grilled shrimp or the char-grilled pork, we ordered #23 which featured both. As much as we both love shrimp and thought it was good, our hands-down favorite was the char-grilled pork, which had plenty of char, and that delicious sweet, smoky marinade background. Really good! We were so happy with the food that we then shared a Ban Mi Croissant with that same delicious char-grilled pork. Followed by #67 Bahn Hoi Thit Nuong (more of that pork) where the type of Vermicelli preparation is very different--a tiny version of the Vermicelli that is prepared flat and then rolled up into a spongy bite. I thought it was fun. If you're not sure how to eat these dishes, you only need to ask them, but generally I think it's everyone to their own devices and don't be afraid to get your fingers into the experience and enjoy yourself. read more

I work within minutes of this establishment and I drive by everyday on the way to work and on the way home from work. In honor of Asian Pacific Islander Month, I thought to myself this is the perfect time to experience what they have to offer! First, customer service was awesome! The hostess/cashier was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I failed to ask her name but she assisted me with understanding the menu since it was my first time visiting. She was very patient and knowledgeable about the menu items. Secondly, as for the food, it was a tough decision deciding between a Bahn Mi sandwich or the shrimp fried rice. In the end, I opted out for the fried shrimp rice and I'm so glad I did! It was fabulous! The rice was flavorful but not overly seasoned which works well for those who watch their salt intake like me. They do give packages of soy sauce for those that require more salt. I love bean sprouts in my fried rice without peas and carrots so this was perfect for me! I'm now hooked and a fan of their fried rice because they serve it up the way I like it! Overall, my takeout experience was great! they cooked my rice within a matter of minutes! I did not have to wait long and the quality of the food was on point! It was served extremely fresh and piping hot! Next time I will try to experience their dine in service to see what that's all about. It's the best sandwich place in Northwest Side Houston ever. I have yet to find any good banh mi around the north area, but I found this place randomly, and it is a hidden gem for us. This place was not advertised a lot in the social or Vietnamese community or yes, but I have yet to see it. I graded this restaurant 10 out of 10 because of this reason: I bought Banh Mi for the first time, which did not disappoint me. The Banh Mi was so fresh and full of flavor in the mouth. The Banh Mi is typically crispy outside and combined with grilled pork (beef, chicken, and combination) and pickled vegetables like carrots and daikon radish. Cilantro and cucumber add flavor, while butter and pate can provide creaminess or heat. The option for the spicy level is to add jalapeno or hot chili sauce.  The second time, I went to the store to dine in. The store was so clean, and the staff was so friendly. Also, the atmosphere is usually casual and welcoming, making it an excellent place for a quick bite. So I chose a croissant and rice dish for this time. Instead of Banh mi, the croissant is soft, combined with grilled pork, and the ingredients of Banh mi are so perfect. They have some of the best general tsos chicken. They have amazing lemongrass beef. Amazing everything. The customer service is just great. The owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet. I am happy they moved away from Antoine. I used you to work off of 290 and 610. Were there right now is a lot more safer and nicer. Ordered Uber Eats and my order was prepared quickly and on its way to me sooner than expected. Even though the driver had another stop before mine, my food was packed well and arrived warm and fresh. I'm usually not a fan of the other dishes, so I kept it simple and ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, the Chinese egg rolls, and the shrimp fried rice. Both orders of egg rolls were quite tasty. Price is about average for this type of food. We had a party of 12, and food took a while to come out. Just something to note if you have a large group. Had heard from multiple sources that Thu Thu had a top-notch Banh Mi sandwich, and finally got the chance to check it out today. Verdict: yup. Definitely my current favorite in the area, one that I will absolutely go back for. I did the chargrilled pork version, and thought it was fantastic -- meat was flavorful and they neither skimped nor overloaded. The French bread roll was definitely a plus -- while I prefer them harder on the outside, this was definitely a better-than-average roll. As for other items, an appetizer of cold spring rolls were good and fresh, if not particularly distinguished. Iced tea was solid. A strawberry banana smoothie was deemed "mediciny," while a taro coconut version was declared a winner. Service was prompt and friendly. The ladies here are nice and they have really cheap lunch specials everyday for under $10. I ordered the cold cut meat croissant and a bbq pork croissant bahn mi for my friend. The croissant was nice and toasted. The bahn mi was definitely packed with flavor. I also got an order of two spring rolls. It was nice and fat. The peanut sauce is thicker than most but still delicious. Everything came out within 10 minutes. I ordered a blended Frappuccino coffee with boba and coffee jelly. I'm definitely supportive for small businesses. I typically get the special combination sandwich or the bbq pork. They do a great job. The couple times I came, they toast the bread a bit too much. I would love it if they toasted it lightly. Ask for extra carrots, but check because they can be stingy with their carrots. I recommend trying this place out.
